Is there free Airbnb data or a free Airbnb API?
Last reviewed Oct 21, 2026 by Jeremy Werden
Short answer
Yes, though not from Airbnb, whose API only approved software partners can use. BNBCalc's public Best Airbnb Markets pages list revenue potential, nightly rate and occupancy for the markets in each US state, part of every BNBCalc market page is open without a plan, and a free BNBCalc account includes 2 free property analyses.
Is Airbnb's API free?
Not in the way most people mean. Airbnb's API is only open to software partners it approves, like property management and channel management tools, and its terms don't allow using it for market research. So there's no public access to it at any price, and it isn't a route to free occupancy or revenue figures.
Free Airbnb data comes from tools that track listings themselves instead, and BNBCalc shows a good share of its data without a plan.
What Airbnb data can I get free from BNBCalc?
More than most people expect, and none of it needs a paid plan:
| Where | What's free | Account needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Best Airbnb Markets pages | For each US state, its markets ranked by gross yield (room revenue potential against median home value), with each market's annual and monthly room revenue potential, nightly rate (ADR), occupancy and median home value, filterable by bedroom count and performance tier. Pages for other countries rank markets by annual revenue. | No |
| Rankings in BNBCalc Markets | The first 10 markets in each country, with each market's revenue (potential room revenue in the US) and, in the US, gross yield | No |
| Market pages in BNBCalc Markets | The market's annual revenue, gross yield in the US and lead time (how far ahead guests book), plus occupancy and nightly rate in most markets, and each listing's photos, rates, ratings and cleaning fees on the map | No |
| The Broken Bow, OK market page | One sample market with every figure unlocked, so you can see what a full market page shows | No |
| Property analyses | 2 free analyses, each with the revenue estimate, comps, expenses and returns for one address | A free account |
The public ranking pages are the quickest start, since you don't need an account to see them, and their figures update with BNBCalc's monthly data refresh. For property analyses, make sure to create a free account first. You can start a couple without one, but an upgrade window covers each one and hides the comps.
Where can I buy Airbnb data, and what does it cost?
Without a plan, each listing's revenue and occupancy are masked, a market page's selectors stay on their defaults, and the full rankings, comp sets (your own saved groups of competitor listings) and the figures for each operator, meaning the hosts running several listings in a market, are locked. Here's what unlocks them:
| Option | What it adds | Price |
|---|---|---|
| BNBCalc Markets | Every market, listing, filter, comp set and operator figure, plus everything in the Calculator | $79 a month or $399 a year |
| BNBCalc Calculator | Unlimited property analyses, Excel export and exact amenity revenue figures | $30 a month or $199 a year |
| BNBCalc API | Property analyses as JSON in your own software, with no monthly fee | $0.20 per report |
Both plans start with a 7-day free trial, and you won't be charged if you cancel before it ends. The API is billed separately from both plans.
Which free option should I start with?
The right starting point depends on the question you're asking. If you're still choosing where to buy, start with the Best Airbnb Markets page for the state you're looking at, then open the markets that stand out to see their market pages. If you already have an address in mind, one of your 2 free property analyses will tell you more than any market-wide figure, because it's built from the homes nearest to that address.
Market-wide numbers describe a typical listing across the whole market, so before you put money behind a specific home, make sure to run the address itself.

How do I get Airbnb rental data like occupancy, revenue and nightly rates?
BNBCalc gives you Airbnb rental data three ways. BNBCalc Markets shows occupancy, revenue and nightly rate for a whole market and for each active listing on its map, the BNBCalc Calculator estimates them for one address from the nearby comps, and the BNBCalc API builds that kind of property analysis and returns it as JSON for your own software.
API & developers
Does Airbnb have an API?
Yes, but it isn't public. Airbnb's API is only for software partners it approves, such as property management and channel management tools that update hosts' listings, rates and availability, and as of October 2026 Airbnb says it isn't accepting new access requests. For Airbnb revenue, occupancy and nightly-rate estimates in your own software, use the BNBCalc API.
