Does Airbnb have an API?
Last reviewed Oct 21, 2026 by Jeremy Werden
Short answer
Yes, but it isn't public. Airbnb's API is only for software partners it approves, such as property management and channel management tools that update hosts' listings, rates and availability, and as of October 2026 Airbnb says it isn't accepting new access requests. For Airbnb revenue, occupancy and nightly-rate estimates in your own software, use the BNBCalc API.
Does Airbnb have a public API?
No. Airbnb does run an API, but it's built for businesses that make software for hosts, and only companies Airbnb approves can use it. Airbnb's partner page says that "Once approved, you'll get access to the API documentation", and its developer docs only open after you sign in with an Airbnb account.
So if you were hoping to sign up, grab a key and start pulling data the way you would with most APIs, unfortunately that isn't how Airbnb's works.
What can you do with Airbnb's API?
Airbnb's API is about running listings, not researching them. In the partner page's words, it "allows development teams to securely Oauth into new and existing Airbnb accounts", so that their users can "push updates to content, rates, and availability." Its API terms describe a set of programs for "property management, channel management, operations management, connected device, and hospitality providers", plus its Preferred Software Partner Program, and its partner page and developer site list what that software lets hosts do:
- import and sync listings, including their descriptions, amenities and photos;
- manage pricing and availability across many listings from one calendar;
- handle reservations and message guests.
What a partner can reach also depends on the program it belongs to. In Airbnb's words, your organization "will have access to Scopes that are appropriate to the API Program in which your organization participates."
How do I get Airbnb API access or an API key?
You can't, at least not on your own. As of October 2026, Airbnb's partner page says: "At this time, we are not accepting new access requests for our API." Instead, its partner managers reach out to companies themselves, based on the supply a business would bring to Airbnb, the strength of its technology and how well it can support hosts. A partner that's approved gets the docs, builds and tests its connection, and then onboards listings, with an Airbnb partner manager answering questions along the way.
That route is meant for software companies, and the same page tells hosts with multiple listings that Airbnb has other tools for them. If what you're after is Airbnb market data in your own code, though, you don't need Airbnb at all, since the BNBCalc API is self-serve and you can create a key yourself from Settings, then API.
Does Airbnb have an API for hosts?
Not one that hosts call directly. Instead, hosts use Airbnb's API through software that's already connected to it, which Airbnb's help center calls "API-connected software". In practice, that means a property management system or a channel manager: you connect it to your Airbnb account, and from then on it syncs your listings, calendar and pricing for you.
You can check whether a listing is connected in Airbnb's Listing editor, under Settings and then Property management software, and you can remove a connection from Account settings under Privacy. Airbnb's help article on managing listings with property management software walks through both.
Can I use Airbnb's API for market research?
No. Airbnb's standard API terms rule it out, even for approved partners. Its API Terms of Service (last updated October 15, 2025) say a partner may not use the API's data for "retaining static copies or building databases" or for "analyzing, deriving, or optimizing any demographic, pricing, financial, or other data". The API exists to run listings, so comparing what homes earn across a market is outside what it's for.
If market research is what you're after, the BNBCalc API is built for it. It works out what the listings near an address earn from BNBCalc market data, built from listing details, nightly rates and booked nights on Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com, and returns the figures as JSON.
How do I get Airbnb data through an API instead?
The BNBCalc API works one property at a time. You send an address or coordinates, the bedrooms, bathrooms and guests, and the price or rent your analysis type needs, and BNBCalc returns a full property analysis as JSON:
- projected annual revenue, nightly rate and occupancy for the property;
- the comparable listings behind the estimate;
- operating expenses, cash flow and return metrics;
- a link to a hosted report you can share.
The BNBCalc API has no monthly fee and charges $0.20 per report. To get started, sign in to BNBCalc, open Settings, then API, and click Start for free.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an API for Airbnb occupancy and revenue data?
Yes. The BNBCalc API takes a property's address or coordinates and returns a full analysis as JSON: projected revenue, nightly rate and occupancy, the comparable listings behind them, expenses and returns. It costs $0.20 per report, plus $0.10 for each AI step that completes, with no monthly fee.
Do I need to be an Airbnb partner to use the BNBCalc API?
No. The BNBCalc API is self-serve, so there's nothing to apply for. Sign in to BNBCalc, open Settings, then API, and start the API subscription with a card (nothing is charged until you create reports), then create a key.
Can I get Vrbo or Booking.com data through an API?
Yes, through the BNBCalc API. It picks comps the same way the BNBCalc app does, from BNBCalc's data on nearby Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com listings, so an API analysis can include all three, depending on which listings are near the property.

Does BNBCalc have an API?
Yes. The BNBCalc Airbnb Data API lets developers create BNBCalc property analyses from their own software and get the revenue estimate, comps, expenses and returns back as JSON, with a link to a hosted report. It has four create endpoints, for Buy, Own, Rent and Cohost analyses, and costs $0.20 per report with no monthly fee.

Is there free Airbnb data or a free Airbnb API?
Yes, though not from Airbnb, whose API only approved software partners can use. BNBCalc's public Best Airbnb Markets pages list revenue potential, nightly rate and occupancy for the markets in each US state, part of every BNBCalc market page is open without a plan, and a free BNBCalc account includes 2 free property analyses.

How do I get Airbnb rental data like occupancy, revenue and nightly rates?
BNBCalc gives you Airbnb rental data three ways. BNBCalc Markets shows occupancy, revenue and nightly rate for a whole market and for each active listing on its map, the BNBCalc Calculator estimates them for one address from the nearby comps, and the BNBCalc API builds that kind of property analysis and returns it as JSON for your own software.

How much does the BNBCalc API cost, and how is it billed?
The BNBCalc API has no monthly fee. You pay $0.20 for each report it successfully creates, plus $0.10 for each AI step that completes, such as AI comps or AI expense estimates. Requests that return an error are free, and your usage is billed monthly through your API subscription, separately from any Calculator or Markets plan.
