How do I change or upgrade my plan?

Last reviewed Oct 7, 2026 by Jeremy Werden

Short answer

To upgrade a paid BNBCalc Calculator plan to Markets, click Upgrade to Markets in the navbar and pay the prorated difference. During a Calculator trial, use Switch Trial to Markets instead, which costs $0. Every other change, such as monthly to annual or Markets to Calculator, goes through Settings → Billing → Manage subscription → Change plan.

Upgrading from the Calculator to Markets

BNBCalc Markets includes everything in the Calculator, so upgrading replaces your Calculator plan rather than adding a second one. On a paid Calculator plan:

  1. Click Upgrade to Markets in the navbar.
  2. Check the summary: the Markets price for the rest of your current billing period, a credit for the Calculator days you haven't used yet, any discount you qualify for, and the amount due today.
  3. Click Upgrade Now.

You're charged the prorated difference straight away, and your billing period and currency stay the same, so a monthly plan stays monthly. If your account was created before May 31, 2026, the summary also shows a Founder discount of 20% off Markets for as long as you stay subscribed.

Changing plans during a trial

You don't need to pay to change plans while you're in a trial, as long as you use the trial's own options:

  • Calculator trial to Markets: click Try Markets Free in the navbar, or Switch Trial on the Billing page, then Switch to Markets Trial. It costs $0 today, keeps your billing period, and your trial keeps going.
  • Markets trial to the Calculator: go to Manage subscription → Cancel current plan and choose Try Calculator instead (or Switch back to Calculator). Your trial continues on the Calculator with the same end date.

Every other change

To switch between monthly and annual billing, or to move from Markets down to the Calculator:

  1. Open Settings → Billing.
  2. Click Manage subscription, then Change plan.
  3. Pick the plan and billing period you want in BNBCalc's secure payment portal and confirm.

The change applies straight away. Moving to a more expensive option charges the difference for the rest of your current billing period on the spot. Moving to a cheaper one leaves a credit on your account that comes off your next charges, rather than a refund to your card, and your invoice shows how either was worked out.

Related question

Be careful if you're still in a free trial, though. Changing plan through the payment portal ends the trial immediately and starts billing.

A few things to know

  • Older prices: if you subscribed at an earlier price, your subscription keeps it as long as you don't change it. Changing plan or billing period moves you to the current price for your new choice, and so does creating a team on an older Calculator price.

  • Teams: team members can't change the plan, because the owner manages billing. Owners invite and remove members from Settings → Team.

  • Canceling instead: if you want to stop paying altogether, How do I cancel my subscription? has the steps.

Frequently asked questions

Does changing my BNBCalc plan during a trial end the trial?

It depends how you change it. Switch Trial to Markets keeps your trial going for $0, and on a Markets trial, starting a cancel and choosing Try Calculator instead keeps it on the Calculator. Changing plan through Manage subscription → Change plan ends the trial and starts billing straight away.

Will I keep my old price if I change plans?

Your subscription keeps its current price while it renews unchanged. Changing plan or billing period moves you to the current price for your new choice.
