How do I update my payment method or fix a failed payment?

Short answer
To update the card on your BNBCalc subscription, go to Settings → Billing and click Manage cards, which opens BNBCalc's secure payment portal. If a renewal payment fails, BNBCalc locks the app behind a payment screen and keeps retrying the charge. Use that screen's option to update your payment details, and everything reopens once the payment goes through.
Updating your card
- Open the sidebar's Settings, then Billing.
- Next to Card on file, click Manage cards.
- In BNBCalc's secure payment portal, add your new card and make sure it's set as your default.
- You're brought back to the Billing page when you're done.
If you're a member of someone else's team, you'll see "Managed by team owner" instead of the button, because the owner's card pays for every seat.
When a renewal payment fails
A payment usually fails because the card expired, was replaced, or the bank declined it. When that happens with a renewal, BNBCalc shows a payment screen across the app, including the dashboard, your analyses, Markets, Comp Sets and the Billing page itself.
Unfortunately, the screen won't go away on its own. Your subscription stays open while BNBCalc keeps retrying the payment, but you can't use the app until the payment goes through. To fix it:
- Use the option on the payment screen to update your payment details.
- Make sure the new card has enough funds for the charge, and that your bank isn't blocking it.
- Once the payment goes through, the screen disappears and everything opens again.
Keep in mind that a failed payment isn't a charge: no money left your account.
If you'd rather cancel than pay
You can cancel from the payment screen, but it doesn't wipe out the payment that already failed. You'll see "Your subscription won't renew. The outstanding payment remains due, and payment retries will continue." If you think that charge shouldn't be due, contact support through the support form or [email protected] before the next retry. How do I cancel my subscription? covers canceling in general.
Paying at checkout
New subscriptions and trials accept debit and credit cards, plus Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them. Checkout inside the app won't accept a prepaid card for a free trial.
Frequently asked questions
Was I charged if my BNBCalc payment failed?
No. A failed payment means no money was taken. The amount is still due, though, so BNBCalc keeps retrying it until it goes through or the subscription ends.
Why can't I start a BNBCalc trial with my card?
Checkout inside the app won't accept a prepaid card for a free trial. Use a debit or credit card, or Apple Pay or Google Pay, instead.

Where can I find my invoices and receipts?
Your BNBCalc invoices are in Settings → Billing, under Billing history. Every paid charge is listed by date with a download icon for its invoice. A free trial doesn't appear there, because it costs $0, so your first invoice shows up once the trial ends. If you're on someone else's team, the team owner receives the invoices.

How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel BNBCalc, go to Settings → Billing → Manage subscription → Cancel current plan and finish the steps. You keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for, or the end of your trial, and you won't be charged again. After that, it becomes a free account with no analysis credits left.

How does the free trial work, and when am I charged?
The BNBCalc Calculator and Markets plans each start with a 7-day free trial, once per account. Nothing is charged until it ends at 11:59 PM in your time zone, 7 days after you start. Then you're charged for the plan you picked at checkout, which is the full yearly price unless you switched to monthly.

What is BNBCalc's refund policy?
BNBCalc gives a full refund of any monthly or annual Calculator or Markets charge if you ask within 14 days of that charge, including the first charge after a free trial. There's no refund button: email [email protected] from your account's email with the details of the charge. Refunds reach your original payment method in about 5 to 10 business days.
