Enso Connect suits multi-property managers and boutique hotels who will run its upsells and AI messaging on top of a solid PMS. Single-listing hosts should skip it. The Boarding Pass guest portal and upsell automation are the real strength. The weakness is opaque, quote-only pricing that bills per SMS and takes a 5 percent cut.

How much is a smoother guest experience worth to you per door, every month, on top of everything you already pay for? Enso Connect makes you answer that before it shows you a number, because the price is quote-only and billed per unit. Here's my short version. If you run a dozen or more short-term rentals and you'll put the upsells and AI messaging to work, Enso earns its line on the budget. If you host a single listing, or you won't build out the guest journey, keep your money.

That per-door fee lands in a budget that's already crowded. You're paying for a property management platform, a dynamic pricing tool, cleaners, and probably a channel manager. Enso sits on top of all of it rather than replacing any of it.

It's a layer, not a system, and that one distinction decides whether the spend makes sense for you. Our team hosts short-term rentals and runs software like this in our own workflows, so this review covers what Enso does, what operators pay, and how it compares. I checked pricing and features against Enso's own site in August 2026, and every outside opinion below links to its source.

What Is Enso Connect?

Start with that layer idea, because it's the whole shape of the product. Enso Connect is a guest-experience platform, which in plain terms means it owns everything between a guest booking and checking out: the messages, the check-in, the ID verification, the digital guidebook, and the upsells.

Enso's own homepage calls it "the leading digital guest experience platform for vacation rentals and boutique hotels." The 2026 tagline is blunter: "One AI Platform Running Your Guest Communication."

The company was founded in 2019 by Francois Gouelo, who started it in a University of Toronto computer-science lab and still runs it as CEO. It's Toronto-based and an official Airbnb partner.

In his own founder pitch, Gouelo frames the whole thing around three goals: more revenue per guest, fewer manual operations, and more five-star reviews, since "if you don't get a 4.5 out of five on the Airbnb, you are in the bottom 5% of listings."

Enso's marketing now claims 60,000-plus active properties and $50M in upsell revenue. Treat those as vendor figures, not audited ones. What matters for you is the category: this is the operating layer for the guest, and it needs a system underneath it.

Enso Connect Features

Say you manage fifteen doors already running on Guesty. That's the lens I'll keep for the rest of this, because a feature only matters once you picture it on a real portfolio.

Enso plugs into your PMS and then takes over the guest-facing work.

The Boarding Pass Guest Portal

The Boarding Pass is the centerpiece, and it's the feature I'd get excited about. It's a branded web app, compatible with Apple Wallet, that carries the guest from booking to checkout in one place.

Verification, the door code, the WiFi, the house rules, the local guidebook, and the upsell offers all sit on one link instead of five scattered messages. For a fifteen-door manager, that means you stop copy-pasting check-in instructions at 11pm.

Make sure you spend the setup time on this screen. It's the thing your guest touches most.

Upsells and Monetization

This is the revenue engine, and it's the reason most people look at Enso in the first place. You sell early check-ins, late checkouts, mid-stay extensions, and local add-ons inside the Boarding Pass, triggered automatically at the right moment in the stay.

On fifteen doors, an early check-in at $35 sold on even a third of your bookings adds up faster than most hosts expect. That's the math behind Enso's pitch that upsell revenue alone covers the subscription in month one.

Keep in mind Enso takes a 5 percent cut of each upsell. I'll come back to who pays it.

EnsoAI and the Unified Inbox

Every channel your fifteen listings talk on, Airbnb, Booking.com, WhatsApp, SMS, email, and now phone, lands in one inbox, and EnsoAI drafts or sends the replies. This is the part that changed most since our last review.

EnsoAI is no longer a simple GPT wrapper that suggests text. It's trained on your policies and past conversations, and it runs in two modes: Copilot, where it drafts and you approve, or Autopilot, where it answers on its own. Gouelo's stated goal is to move past drafting replies to "answering on your behalf."

With the two-way Guesty sync, a reply written in Enso shows up in Guesty and back, so your team stops watching two inboxes.

Automated Workflows

Underneath all of it sits an if-this-then-that automation engine, what STR Specialist's review nicknames the "Zapier of guest experiences." You build rules once, then Enso fires them.

Request ID the moment a booking confirms. Send the door code only after verification clears. Offer the late checkout the morning of departure.

For a fifteen-door operator, this is where the labor savings live. It's also where the setup weeks go, so be aware the payoff is proportional to the effort you put in.

Smart Locks and Verification

Enso ties into smart-lock brands through partners like Assa Abloy and generates time-bound entry codes automatically. A code goes live at check-in and dies at checkout without anyone touching a lockbox.

Alongside it, white-labeled ID verification and a deposit or damage-waiver step screen the guest before the code sends. Across a portfolio spread over several buildings, that's the difference between managing keys and forgetting keys exist.

Enso Connect Pricing and Plans in 2026

That effort-equals-payoff point runs straight into the pricing, because Enso won't quote you until you've told it about your portfolio. There is no public price.

The pricing page is a quote form, not a plan grid, and it defaults to nothing you can comparison-shop.

Here's everything actually known about what Enso costs, as of August 2026.

Pricing elementDetail (as of August 2026)
ModelPer listing or per unit, custom quote only. No public tiers or price grid.
Billing cadenceMonthly, quarterly, or yearly pre-payment. Yearly pre-pay gets the better rate.
Third-party estimateRoughly $9 to $16 per listing per month, plus a one-time setup fee starting around $300
Upsell fee5 percent of each upsell, charged to the guest
Free trialNone. Demo-gated, offset by an ROI guarantee instead
ROI guaranteeCover your subscription in generated revenue, or keep using Enso free

The only figures anyone can put a number to come from outside Enso. STR Specialist's 2026 review pegs the per-listing cost at "roughly in the $9 to $16 per listing per month range" with a one-time implementation fee "around $300."

I can't confirm that against Enso directly, since the price is demo-gated, so treat it as an estimate and get your own quote first.

Set the number against one thing it recovers. On fifteen doors at, say, $12 each, that's $180 a month, and a single early check-in and one late checkout sold most weeks would clear it.

The ROI guarantee ("generate at least your subscription cost, or continue using Enso Connect for Free," per Enso's site) exists to make that bet feel safe. Remember it only triggers if you build the upsells out, which loops back to setup.

Enso Connect Pricing vs Alternatives

The trouble with comparing Enso on price is that nothing we've reviewed does the same job. Enso is the only guest-experience platform in our review set, so the closest tools below each solve one slice of what Enso bundles, rather than replacing it.

I'm judging on which slice you actually need, because that's what the purchase turns on.

ToolThe slice it coversWhere it stops short of Enso
HostfullyPMS plus a separate digital-guidebook productNo unified AI inbox, upsell engine, or verification
HostBuddy AIAI guest messagingNo guest portal, upsells, or smart-lock codes
StayFiWiFi guest-data capture, email marketing, upsellsNo messaging, check-in, or verification layer

If the messaging is all you're after, HostBuddy AI does the automated-reply piece on its own and skips the portal, the verification, and the smart-lock codes.

If your goal is capturing guest emails and marketing to them for direct bookings, StayFi covers that corner through a branded WiFi splash page.

And Hostfully is interesting here, because it's both an adjacent tool and one of the sixteen PMS platforms Enso plugs into. Its Guidebooks product overlaps Enso's guidebook, yet you might well run both.

None of the three gives you the full inquiry-to-checkout layer. That's what Enso sells, and what the per-door premium buys.

Enso Connect Pros and Cons

So the layer is real and the alternatives only cover corners of it. Where does that leave the experience of paying for and running it?

On the plus side, the Boarding Pass consolidates six or seven separate tools, and the upsell automation is the rare feature that pays for itself when you work it. The two-way Guesty sync is clean, and a 4.7 rating on Capterra says most operators are happy once they're set up.

Now the cost, which hides in the touchpoints. On Capterra, Sean M. gave Enso two stars in October 2025 and wrote that "Enso charges for every single SMS notification, including internal alerts to team members," on top of the "5% fee charged to the guest" on every upsell.

The mechanism is that Enso meters nearly every interaction. Sean's read was that "the pricing structure feels designed to monetize every touchpoint."

The consequence is that the tidy per-door number you quoted at signup isn't the number on your invoice. Because the 5 percent rides on the guest, your add-on prices look higher to the person deciding whether to buy them.

The operator who gets hurt is the smaller manager who budgeted the subscription and never modeled the metering. Watch out for the SMS line specifically, and ask about it on your demo call.

Quick detour, because this trips people up. That 5 percent is charged to the guest, not skimmed from you, so it doesn't dent your take. It does make a $40 early check-in read as $42 at checkout, nudging conversion down a hair. Ok, back to it.

The second knock is the stack. As STR Specialist puts it, "you still need a separate PMS and dynamic pricing engine, which adds stack complexity."

Setting it up takes weeks, not the afternoon our older review implied, a slog that Capterra reviewers flag repeatedly. The character who suffers here is the single-listing host who buys the depth and uses a tenth of it.

On GetApp, where Enso still scores 4.7 across 63 reviews, some reviewers knock the digital guidebooks as less engaging and flag occasional bugs.

It's a layer, not a system, and a layer only earns its keep on a portfolio big enough to feel the savings.

I'll admit one thing I couldn't pin down: the exact per-unit price. Enso keeps it behind a demo, so the only figures in this review are third-party estimates, and you should treat them that way.

What Enso Connect Is Best Used For

That scale point is the whole recommendation. Enso Connect is at its best for a multi-property manager or a boutique-hotel operator running dozens of units.

It fits the operator who will build the automations, staff the AI in Copilot mode until they trust Autopilot, and sell the upsells like a revenue line. For that operator, the per-door fee buys back hours and sells check-ins they were leaving on the table.

Here's who should close the tab. If you run one or two listings, the depth is wasted and the metered costs sting more per door. If you want an all-in-one that also handles your calendar, pricing, and payouts, Enso isn't it, and forcing it into that role will disappoint you.

And if you won't invest the setup weeks, do check your own follow-through honestly. An unconfigured Boarding Pass is another line on the bill.

One boundary worth drawing. Enso is about the guest after they book. Deciding which property or market to buy in the first place is a different job, and that's the part a tool like BNBCalc Markets is built for, reading home prices and supply next to the revenue a market throws off. Don't ask a guest-experience layer to underwrite your next acquisition.

The Bottom Line

So, is Enso Connect worth the per-door price? Yes, for the multi-property manager or boutique hotel that will run the upsells and the AI on top of a solid PMS.

If you host a single listing or won't build it out, skip it and spend the money elsewhere. If you're on the fence, book a demo, ask flat-out about the SMS charges and the 5 percent, and let the ROI guarantee carry the risk for a quarter.

The bigger lesson sits above any one tool. A guest-experience layer only pays when you operate it, and software you don't configure is a subscription with good intentions. Whatever you buy, budget the setup weeks before you budget the fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Does Enso Connect Cost?

Enso Connect does not publish prices. It charges per listing on a custom quote and requires a demo before it gives you a number, with billing offered monthly, quarterly, or as a discounted yearly pre-payment. Third-party estimates put the range at roughly $9 to $16 per listing per month, plus a one-time setup fee starting around $300, and every upsell carries a 5 percent fee charged to the guest. There is no public price grid as of August 2026.

Does Enso Connect Replace My Property Management System?

No. Enso Connect is a guest-experience layer that sits on top of a property management system, not a replacement for one. It handles messaging, check-in, verification, guidebooks, and upsells, while the PMS still owns the calendar, reservations, and payouts. Enso integrates with sixteen PMS platforms including Guesty, Hostaway, Escapia, Hostfully, Mews, and OwnerRez, syncing guest data and messages two ways so the systems stay in step.

What Is the Enso Connect Boarding Pass?

The Boarding Pass is Enso's branded guest web app, compatible with Apple Wallet, that carries a guest through the whole stay from one link. It bundles online check-in, ID verification, the door code, WiFi details, house rules, a local guidebook, and upsell offers in a single place, replacing the scattered messages most hosts send by hand. It is the guest-facing centerpiece of the platform and the screen where upsells are sold.

Does Enso Connect Charge a Fee on Upsells?

Yes. Enso Connect takes 5 percent of each upsell processed through the platform, and that fee is charged to the guest rather than deducted from the host. The figure appears on Capterra and in independent third-party reviews, and it sits below the 10 percent some competitors charge. Because the fee is added at the point of sale, a $40 early check-in reads slightly higher to the guest deciding whether to buy it.

Is There a Free Trial of Enso Connect?

No. Enso Connect is demo-gated and has no self-serve free trial as of August 2026. In place of a trial it offers an ROI guarantee: "generate at least your subscription cost, or continue using Enso Connect for Free." To test it, book a demo, scope a quote for your portfolio, and lean on that guarantee through the first billing period.

Who Should Use Enso Connect?

Enso Connect fits multi-property managers and boutique-hotel operators running dozens of units who will build out automations and sell upsells as a revenue line. Those operators recover the per-unit fee through saved labor and sold add-ons. Single-listing hosts, anyone wanting an all-in-one that also handles pricing and payouts, and operators unwilling to invest the multi-week setup should look elsewhere, because the platform's depth only pays back at portfolio scale.

Last verified: August 2026. Pricing and features were checked against Enso Connect's own site on the date above, and every third-party opinion links to its source.
