Ranch style house on 300 acre farm where the Cowpasture river runs through it. Nestled beside a Big Spring. Farm is bordered on the east by the George Washington National Forest. Short walking distance to the Shaw's Ridge Trail.Short driving distance to Shenandoah mountain and the Confederate breastworks. A few miles from historical McDowell and Monterey,Highland County,Virginia. Enjoy outdoor activities such as fishing hunting hiking biking kayaking in the area. The space We're nestled in the mountains of Highland County with several streams and the Cowpasture River running through the middle of the property. It's a tranquil setting quiet out-of-the-way with beautiful views plenty of trails to hike. Just open country. Guest access Coded door access upon booking . Good ole Clean mountain country air. Other things to note There are several sightseeing places nearby to take in while you're here especially if you want to get off the farm for a while we'll share those with youat booking mostly it pertains to hiking and a couple small stores in this remote area. There is a Dollar General store in Monterey Virginia and there's several other convenience stores. If you're coming through Staunton Virginia to our east that would be a good place to get groceries for your stay.

Big Spring Bed & Breakfast

Natural Spring water shower and bath at Jade Dragon Guest House. Tai Chi, Qigong & Massage sessions can be booked. Majestic mountain views. Front deck with cool mountain breezes. BBQ pit. 1 fullsize sofa for extra guest or kiddos to sleep. Small kitchenette, mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, keurig. Queen bed, 2 twin beds, smart tv. Bathroom, tub, shower. River rock fire pit in backyard! Small fire pit at front deck. Forest trails. River. Swing set, slide, trampoline, yard toys. The space The guest house is in a separate wing. It has a private deck and entrance, living room with kitchenette and dining area, full bathroom with natural spring water shower and tub, large bedroom with a queen bed and a twin trundle bed that contains 2 twin beds. Bbq pit on the front deck. Firepit at the front deck, large one in the backyard and 3rd one near the camping site for camping guests. Guests are welcome to use the firepit at your front deck and the large one in the backyard next to the pool. Please do not use the firepit near the camping area. Please use the front deck. Please do not use the back deck, that is the owner's space. Pets are welcome. When outdoors, please keep your pet on a leash at all times. There are 2 pet beds in the guesthouse. I will provide a cat litter box if needed. Just let me know if you're bringing a cat. Please clean up after your pet. If there are any accidents on the carpet, please use the carpet cleaner and cleaning rags that are under the sink in the bathroom. We do have a few pets on the property. 3 chickens that occupy the back yard in an enclosed fenced in area. Take your pets for a walk in the trails in the forest in the backyard. Play in the river water. Please notify me if there is an incident with your pet having an accident in my guest house. I may want to clean further. If your pet sheds excessively please bring a roller with you to roll up the excessive hair before you leave. No Chore Check Out. If you forgot to do anything during your stay, don't worry about it at check out! I want every guest to be free of all worries at check out. Just put your time into concentrating on your own things. I do not have a cleaning fee. I expect guests to clean up common things after themselves during their stay but not at check out, such as: Spills - if you spill something please wipe it up. Please do not leave water or other spills as they do ruin the furniture and floor if not wiped up right away. Please notify me if something is spilled, I may want to clean further. Pet mess - please clean up after your pets whether inside or outside. Please notify me of all pet accidents such as pee, poop or vomit, I may want to clean further. Non disposable items - if you choose to use non disposable items such as dishes, cups, mugs, wine glasses, silverware etc. please wash them in the bathroom sink with the dish cleaning supplies under the sink, dry them and put them back in their place. Between each guest: I change sheets, pillow and mattress covers and towels between each guest. I also clean and sanitize the bathroom, kitchenette, table, coffee/tea station, desk, nite tables, pet beds, outdoor tables and chairs. I dust, vacuum and mop. I take out all the trashes. If you have trash that needs to go out during your stay, you may put it in either 2 square garbage cans outside to the left of your parking area. Please do not move kitchen appliances or keurig to the bedroom. Please unplug the burner cookers after use. They are left unplugged. You will need to plug those in to use them. Thank you! Feel free to move queen bed over all the way to the wall to pull out trundle twin bed in bedroom. Please Be Advised ***** This is a Non Smoking property. All types of smoking, vape, e cigarette, marijuana smoking etc. are not allowed inside or outside of the house. You must leave the property to do any of those and then you may come back. Thank you. Additionally there are no open flames allowed in the house. If using firepit in front of front deck, there is firewood stacked in front of front deck for your use. Air Conditioning and Heat in the Guest House - When outdoor temperatures are in the 30's and 40's at night, the whole house heat is automatically set to turn on when the house temp. drops to 69. We do not keep ac units in the windows all year round because this would let in cold draft during winter months and when nights are still 30 and 40 degrees outside. Ac units are put in the windows once the warmer temperatures are consistent outside and there's no more use for heaters indoors. Quaint and charming Olin’s Ridge in nestled quietly in the foothills of Augusta County. This cabin is perfectly suited for a couple or small family seeking a quiet escape. A simplistic experience, with an Alexa, Wi-Fi and personally controlled heating/air throughout. Outdoors you can sit under string lights by the fire pit, enjoy a peaceful dip in the hot tub, or a swing on the front porch. With a short walk, you will find two ponds with spectacular views of the blue ridge mountains.

Olin’s Ridge

Book a stay at The Turkey Roost, and your adventures begin! Whether it's biking Highland County's many beautiful country roads, hiking the endless mountain trails, fishing for the elusive trout in the various rivers and streams, or just desiring a quiet escape from life's constant demands, let The Turkey Roost be your "base camp." The Turkey Roost is a former hunting camp; but it's been given a little makeover to create a more comfortable stay, while still maintaining that "cabin feel." The space There are two bedrooms with a queen bed in each, plus a pull-out sofa in the living room (sheets provided). There is a super-comfy sectional in the sunroom, where one person could sleep comfortably. The kitchen, living, and dining area is one large space, so guests can interact throughout their stay. There is also a sunroom with a TV where guests can watch movies (we have a huge selection) or read (we also have a huge selection of classics, as well as best seller books), or kids can play (some toys provided, as well as kids coloring books, crayons, and colored pencils). Family board games are provided, too.

The Turkey Roost ~ a peaceful mountain cabin

Rustic Ridge is a charming 2 story home. With 3 bedrooms upstairs, 2 downstairs. Nestled snuggly in the foothills of the Shenandoah Mountain. This home includes a wrap around porch, two spacious living areas/kitchens with working wood stoves, perfect for cozying up with a good book or winding down from a day of hunting in the nearby George Washington National Forest. Two ponds are located on the property with gorgeous mountainous views. The perfect home for relaxing, unwinding and disconnecting The space Three upstairs bedrooms convey twin beds which at guests request can be converted to King size bed. The downstairs floor bedroom conveys 7 twin beds perfect for children and adults of all ages. This home has two vintage kitchens located on each floor with working gas stoves. The front wrap around porch offers a quiet place to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee while taking in the crisp mountain air or watching the resident deer feed on the fresh dew covered grass. Located on the property are two ponds, one perfect for catch and release fishing or sitting on a swing enjoying a view of beautiful North Mountain. The oak tree lined front yard, leads to smaller pond, perfect for small weddings or receptions (this is not a wedding venue, but a beautiful location to say "I do", guest responsible for all wedding items).

Welcome to "Between the Creeks", The 700sqft cabin is located between 2 Drafts (Creeks as we like to call them) You will drive over top Jonas Draft which flows into Ramsey's Draft located to the right about 500 ft. Ramsey's Draft is located behind the cabin which flows on the property! Enjoy the mountain views, listening to the frogs at the pond, and the water at the creek! Enjoy the piece and quiet! Just minutes from George Washington Natural Forest! Only about 30 minutes from Staunton. The space Now has Wi-Fi... Wi-Fi ONLY NO CELL SERVICE... There are 3 cameras located on the Property they all point towards the driveway ONLY we installed these for our use to watch the creek on the driveway for it has overflowed several times and for the safety of our guests prior to their arrival... Ramsey's Draft located right on the Property... Ramsey's Draft is tributary of the Calfpasture River (very familiar to anyone in the area) which feeds into the James River. The cabin is located just minutes from George Washington National Forest. For hikes with marked trails you would want to make a short drive from the cabin areas such as Elkhorn Lake, Todd Lake, Braley Pond, The Breastworks, Elliot's Knob, and Ramsey's Draft Wilderness. There are many hiking trails. Guest access Open space living room and kitchen. Off the kitchen is the bathroom. A small hallway leads into the bedroom which holds all 3 beds for guest. Other things to note There is WIFI Only... No Cell phone reception!!! We ask that you please respect the Wifi service in your use with it using laptops, Ipads, Tablets, etc... As for the TV this is not connected to Wifi and we don't want it to be! Our little cabin is meant to be used as spending time with ones who have come to share this experience together and not sit around on these distractions that take up so much of our time elsewhere. Enjoy the simple life here at Between the Creeks... Sitting around talking, laughing, playing a game or watching one of the old movies in the cabin. Swinging on the porch swing, sitting down next to river! Go outside take in the Peacefulness of the Creek and Mountains...❤️ And if you'd like choose not to connect to Wifi at all! The choice is Totally up to you!!!

The patio is a great place to relax & enjoy nature. The closest grocery stores are in Churchville, Staunton or Lexington for our fully furnished kitchen. Day trip to the nearby historical towns nearby. No pets. No drones The space This remote cabin looks like you have stepped back in time with antiques in every room. Several of the antiques are family heirlooms with great stories behind them. Guest access Guests enjoy this cabin in the forest feeling miles away but really just walking distance from the hosts who are available to answer questions or provide assistance. Other things to note The cabin is beautifully remote, the best locations for you to stock up on your supplies to use in our fully furnished kitchen are the following communities: Stanton, Churchville and Lexington. You choose based on how you are arriving.

The blue tiny house is private for your use only - kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom, and deck. The firepit and grilling area at the driveway are shared access with your hosts or guests of the main house, the Glass Cabin. Other things to note TO BE OUR GUEST: Thank you for choosing our cozy cabin as your oasis in nature. As this is not a hotel stay, we kindly require all guests to have a COMPLETE PROFILE that tells us something about you, verified ID, and PREVIOUS REVIEW HISTORY. Additionally, we ask that you provide us with a REAL INTRODUCTION when you reach out with a booking inquiry. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. REMOTE WORKERS: The rural wifi in this mountain location provides 50-100 mbps and is suitable for most remote work needs. However, there may be episodic downtime that cannot be predicted. FIRE/GRILL: Firewood is available for purchase at the Mountain View General Store and gas station on the way in. We also provide some charcoals for your grilling use. Please note that the fire pit and grill are shared with guests of both cabins. TV: Please be advised that there is no television in the cabin. You can download shows ahead of your visit, but we hope you'll enjoy unplugging and soaking up the natural beauty that surrounds you during your stay. We have a few books, cards, and limited games available. LIMITED AIR CO: A mini-split air conditioner and heater are installed on the living room floor. The bedroom does not have an air conditioner, but the mountain nights provide natural cooling. We suggest opening a window and using the fans in the bedroom for optimal comfort.
