Stay in one of the oldest and most unique neighborhoods in SA! Lonestar/ Soflo is one of the best neighborhoods in the city, just a few minutes drive from downtown and walking distance to multiple breweries, art galleries & bars! Note: Please read full description of the neighborhood. I also pack this house with tons of games and amenities. Lots of board games, a Ninja Turtles Arcade, A Xbox Series X with games, a Nintendo Switch With Games, 4k TVs in every room & an amazing sound system! The space Note: As of April 7th 2026, we fixed 2 major issues. The flooring in the master bathroom has been replaced and the foundation underneath fixed. Also the shower in the hallway bathroom has been retiled. Bathrooms no longer have any major issues. Please see the bottom of this description for any notes on any other on going issues with the house. We keep this up to date! Amanda and I packed this house with amenities, to the point where some may believe we went a bit too far! I'll do my best to make sure you have a full understanding of the house and what you should expect when you book with us. Sorry it's so long, but this section is our best chance to explain what kind of experience we are trying to provide. We pride ourselves on accuracy! GAMES, TECH & ENTERTAINMENT Most Airbnb's have a few board games (usually with missing pieces) and maybe Smart TVs and Netflix if you're lucky. Having traveled a lot and been frequently disappointed, we wanted our place to be different. Our job as a host is to provide a space that has the capability to elevate our guest's experience while visiting our city, not just provide a few beds to sleep in. Thats why we added an Xbox Series X that we keep updated with games and includes Ultimate game pass, with a downloadable library of hundreds of games! We also have a Nintendo Switch in the twin room that is also updated with lots of games, including Mario Kart, Zelda, Mario Party, Mario Tennis just to name a few! Sometimes adults want to play something like a competitive game of Madden or sometimes, parents just want a safe distraction for the kids so they can enjoy their vacation stress-free. Either way, game consoles are surprisingly effective ways to help visitors enjoy their vacation just a little bit more! We didn't cheap out on the TV. You can play these game systems on our 75in 4k HDR TCL Series 6 TV! It's one of the brightest and most colorful TVs on the market and pairs very well with our next-gen Xbox! You can also enjoy TV content in Dolby Atmos surround sound with our awesome Vizio Elevate Sound system that features immersive sound and a movie theater-style subwoofer. You will have a hard time finding another sound system like this at an Airbnb! MUSIC & APPLE TV ECOSYSTEM Probably my favorite amenity and one that I wish other Airbnb's would copy is our Apple TV Ecosystem. We loaded these Apple TVs with free features that you will love. Want to end the night with karaoke and party games with your family and friends? No other Airbnb you will ever visit will give you a better option than this (probably). The ability to easily play high quality music is an oddly over looked amenity in our experience! We personally love playing music while we travel and wanted to make sure our guests can do the same, and then we took that thought to another level. We have a house subscription to Apple Music that you can play on our surround sound system, our Sonos Beam system (in the master bedroom), or our paired Apple HomePods (Homepods for the best sound quality). Play practically any type of music you want while you are here, and do it on some very, very high-quality speakers featuring Apple music's lossless audio format! All this works very easily via our Apple TV Ecosystem. Using our Bluetooth microphone and the newest Apple TV 4K inside the living room, you can have an amazing karaoke night that even beats karaoke rooms that you can rent out at bars. Thats in part, thanks to our Philps hue lighting system, where you can really set the mood with colorful lighting. If you prefer a game night, our Apple TV is also pre-loaded with lots of party games via multiple iterations of Jack's Party Box. There will be lots for you and your group to do! Want to watch live sports? Our Apple TVs and all bedrooms have a YouTube TV subscription with a Sports package. Finally, if it's a movie night you want, we have pretty much any movie, including new releases, that you could possibly think of. Our library contains over 600 movies, many in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos! SLEEPING AND HOUSE LAYOUT: The house is about 1300 sq feet. It's not a massive home, but big enough for a group of up to 8. The ideal group size is 6 adults and 2 children... with 8 adults, it might be kind of tight, but the groups of 8 adults we have had in the past have loved the house, so it's up to you! I provide plenty of places to sleep. So if you do decide to come with 8, everybody has a place to sleep. First, we have the main beds, which include a queen in the Master, another queen in bedroom #2, and 2 twins in bedroom 3. The living room couch does pull out. I also have a single bed that is folded up and stored in the closet. Last, there is a luxury air mattress in the closet as well. We did not cheap out on any of these extra beds. They are high quality! We do allow our guests to move stuff around to best accommodate their situation! When you look at our pictures, note that after the first 5 or 6 pics I start going in order from the front door to the backyard so that our guests can get an understanding of what the house looks like. Should you have any questions, be sure to ask me! BEDS & BATHROOM We also did not cheap out on our mattresses. Both Queen mattresses are medium/firm 12-14in. Our comforters are also not cheap. We chose comforters that are on the thinner side that could take multiple washes and high heat drying without dropping in quality too much. For those who prefer different types of comforters, I have other types that are available, usually on site! We also provide lots of clean towels. More than you should need. You also won't need to worry about toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair dryers, or clothes steamers while you stay with us! We provide all of that! There is also a front-loading washer and dryer stocked with laundry soap and dryer sheets. In the master closet, next to the extra bedding, there is also lint rollers as well as an iron and an ironing board. Another thing that has always annoyed us with other Airbnbs is the quality of toilet paper, so I wanted to note here that we buy the best thats available to us (Charmin). We also do not reuse wash cloths, all though the wash cloths are not super high quality, they are new. We decided that was the best thing to do! BACKYARD: Our backyard isn't huge, but we make the most of the space. It's fenced all the way around the house and is tall enough to allow for complete privacy. We do have trees back here that shed a lot of leaves and other things during the fall and Spring (especially). The backyard games can and will change from time to time since they get weathered easily and go through a lot of wear and tear. If I take something out, I usually replace it with something better! The Firepit uses propane. Unfortunately, I can't guarantee propane will be provided for every guest. This is because of logistical reasons, not because of cost. We are trying to figure out a system that allows us to ensure there is always plenty of propane, but it's a work in progress. For now, just know you may have to refill a tank should it be low or empty when you arrive. Although I think that is unlikely if it does happen we may be willing to refill it for you or reimburse you! Communication is key! I am into grilling and have been for a while. I wanted our guests to have a strong grilling experience if that's what they want to do while they are here. So we sprung for a Webber Kettle Grill Premium. It's a traditional charcoal grill with a small table attached and an easy-to-use ash emptying and cleaning system. These grills are super versatile and can be used to smoke something for several hours or flash cook something like Burgers or fajitas. They are easy to use for beginners but have the versatility for high-level BBQers as well. What I'm saying is the Webber Kettle grill is a perfect grill for our Airbnb! PRIVACY & SECURITY We truly believe Privacy and security are the two most important aspects of an Airbnb. Nobody wants to hang out in a space that has a camera pointed at them that may or may not have somebody watching on the other end. That includes outdoor cameras. So although we do have a doorbell camera that has a panel inside, it is not monitored and I can not access it remotely. It can only be accessed on site and we only do that if there is an incident. In the years we have been doing this, that has yet to happen. We talk about this in the neighborhood section but want people to know this is a safe neighborhood, and we have a great relationship with our neighbors (we live in this neighborhood too). They are all very friendly, and we are very lucky in this regard. We still encourage everyone to read the neighborhood section of the listing. Privacy is super important, so even though we live in the neighborhood, you will likely not meet us (unless you want to!). We won't be stopping by to check on you or anything like that. I also installed an Eero Mesh Wifi 6 system to secure all smart devices on the property and prevent anybody from trying to do something they shouldn't, like install monitoring devices. Smart devices can't be accessed by anyone outside the network! COOKING, ART & OTHER STANDOUT AMENITIES: There is still a lot about this house I haven't gotten to, all positive things. Some of it will have to be a surprise because this has already gotten too long! I want to start with the kitchen. Amanda and I love cooking, so we want our guests to enjoy cooking and not stress out! The best way to do that is to provide high-quality cookware. Our pots and pans are NOT the cheap Teflon pans that most hosts buy. We have copper pots and pans that stand up to abuse and cleaning. We also have plenty of medium quality knives, high quality utensils and plenty of cooking tools. We also have an electric griddle a ninja blender and more. If theres something specific you want just ask! I also want to talk about the coffee. Coffee is so important while traveling. We wanted our guests to be able to start their day right. So we invested in a "Ninja DualBrew Pro Specialty Coffee Maker! It can quickly and easily brew K-cups single-serve pods or can be an exceptional drip coffee maker as well. We include breakfast coffee pods and local whole-bean coffee. We have a great coffee grinder for whole-bean coffee. We also have a french press and an electric kettle for those who prefer that method. The coffee maker even has a frother attached to it, so you can make your cup on the same level as a boutique coffee shop! We are in the art district, so I also wanted to mention the art and the style of the home! First, we are not interior decorators and really know nothing about designing an Airbnb rental as far as aesthetics. We do love art, though. So we bought as much local art as possible (and continue to buy it), then we put pieces where the wall looked empty. 70% of the art is from local artist in the neighborhood. We didn't put much more thought behind it than that. Based on the feedback I got from guests, this ended up working very well. That really had nothing to do with us and everything to do with the artists! Note, that we do allow our guests to buy the art we have for the same price we paid for it! Lastly, just a bit about our AT&T Fiber internet. It reaches speeds of up to 1000mbps. Of course, you're unlikely to hit numbers that high without being plugged in directly. However, it's not usual for my laptop to get speeds of up to 700mps over wireless. It's very fast and allows us to have all these 4k TVs, game systems and smart devices while still providing super high speeds for our guest's devices. As I mentioned earlier, it's also secure. Nearly every smart device is connected to Apple Homekit (also available to use via our house iPad), which focuses on security. I set up the Eero so that most of these devices can not be accessed outside the network. The only notable exception is our Yale door lock. PARKING & CONDITION OF THE HOUSE This neighborhood and this house are more than 100 years old (built in 1913). It's one of the oldest still surviving neighborhoods in the city! As a matter of fact, we are in what's called a "Historical Conservation" Zone (just barely). This is a good thing and a bad thing. I will get into the good in the "about the neighborhood" section. The reason this is bad is that I'm pretty sure this house was built before cars became the main mode of transportation in SA. The house is on a street that is about half the width of a normal street since we are on top of an underpass. If you're driving a larger car, like a truck or SUV, you may have to pull forward and back up a few times to get out. It takes maybe at most 30 extra seconds. We have yet to have a guest take damage to their vehicle or not be able to get out, even with extra-large trucks. It just takes a few seconds of patience. Although its never been a problem, its something that could potentially irritate certain people, so we want to be upfront! Overall, the house's condition is very good for being so old. We got this house from somebody who was trying to flip it, and unfortunately, they didn't do a very good job in some aspects. We have fixed many of those problems since we started renting the house, but some still remain. The back of the house still needs work on the foundation, as it does shift back and forth occasionally in extreme weather. This is not something you can notice or feel, but it does create imperfections throughout the home. We don't want people to arrive expecting a flawless house. This isn't a house that was torn down and built from the ground up like other Airbnbs in this neighborhood (our street is the only one that is in the historic conservation zone). Because of that imperfections are a defining characteristic of the house. I think it adds a bit of character to the home, but I know some don't want imperfections in their rental, so if this concerns you at all, please send me a message, and I can give you more details! It's mainly just cracks and the flooring looking a bit warped and uneven in some spots. Just know these flaws are all aesthetic and will not affect your stay. The worst thing that could happen is a door gets stuck and is a bit hard to open or close; however, even that is rare now. Hopefully, we don't scare you too much with those last few paragraphs; it really is not that bad, and most people don't even notice the flaws or have trouble backing out, but we want to be upfront! On the plus side, our central A/C is brand new and cools or heats the house very quickly and efficiently. The electrical work in the house is well done as well... it had to be for us to include all this tech and for the new A/C system! Updated House Issues: This is a list of issues I want people to know ahead of time. When an issue is fixed I will delete it. When a new one pops up I will update it. We are using the money we make from this Airbnb to do as much fixing as we can, but not all of it is easily fixable unfortunately! - Floors are slightly uneven, this is a long term issue that will persist until at least the fall of 2026 - Small cracks in walls from foundation shifting. - To properly lock front door from outside, door must be slightly pulled in (easy to do). - Ignite button on fire pit is broken, still easy and safe to light via grill lighter (provided) - Hot water in the kitchen sink works, but must be turned on via a small knob underneath. Note that we have a new, fully working dishwasher too (dishpods provided). - NBA Jam arcade has been replaced with a 4 player Ninja Turtles arcade. Guest access When you rent this house from us, you are renting the entire house! There are no locked closets or rooms here. Everything from the driveway to the backyard belongs to you and your group. Also, this is NOT a duplex or a unit that's part of a complex. If you have experience renting Airbnbs, then you have probably run into hosts who are not straight forward in their listing about whether the place is a duplex or apartment. You think you're renting a house but end up renting a small space that is shared with others. That will never happen with us! Its also worth noting that parking can require a bit of patience for some people with larger vehicles. Any size vehicle can fit in the driveway, but with the house being located on an underpass, the street is somewhat narrow so backing out requires patience. Sometimes it may take up to 30 seconds as you pull forward and back to get enough space to get out of the driveway. Its worth noting that its never been a problem for anybody, just requires a bit of patience! I highly recommend bringing a bike (or renting one from a near by bike rental shop). With a bike, all of the best parts of the neighborhood will be available to you within just minutes. It will also allow you to take advantage of the near by Mission Trail. A really awesome bike/running trail that starts where the Riverwalk ends. The trail runs alongside the river and has exits to various parks, like confluence park and Missions like Mission Conception. Its a super underrated part of our city! Walking is also an option, with popular places restaurants just 5-15 min walk away. It gets hot here during the summer though, so having a rental car where you can drive to locals in just minutes isn't a bad idea! One of the great parts of renting a house is this location is that you can't go wrong no matter what you decide to do! ABOUT THE HOME: We put a lot of thought into every room and outdoor space in this home. After years of traveling ourselves, we wanted to create a place that goes beyond being “just somewhere to sleep” - a space where friends and family can relax, spend time together, and make memories. From parking and outdoor areas to the kitchen, living room, and bedrooms, we focused on comfort, function, and the details that make a stay easier and more enjoyable. Below, we’ll walk you through the home, starting at the front of the property and ending in the backyard! PARKING & FRONT YARD: One thing we’ve found many rentals overlook is parking, and there’s nothing worse than booking a place for a group only to realize parking is limited or inconvenient. We completely renovated the front yard to create a large, gated driveway that comfortably fits 4 cars (and potentially more). The driveway runs down the side of the house, and the entire property is fully fenced, including the backyard - ideal if you’re traveling with a dog. The exterior of the home is well lit and equipped with security cameras focused on the driveway and front of the house to help keep an eye on vehicles. A security system is also available for use during your stay upon request. NOTE: Exterior security cameras record activity 24/7, but are not actively monitored during guest stays. Footage is only reviewed at a guest’s request or in the event of an incident. LIVING ROOM: Along with the backyard, the living room is one of our favorite gathering spaces. Many rentals stop at a basic TV and couch, so we wanted to elevate downtime and make this a space your group actually enjoys spending time in! The TV supports 4K HDR at up to 120Hz, paired with immersive Dolby Atmos sound. We also include access to Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, Peacock, and HBO Max, making it easy to gather for movies, shows, or game nights. KITCHEN: The kitchen is another area we intentionally prioritized. You won’t find mismatched cookware or missing basics here - we wanted cooking to feel easy and enjoyable, not like a chore! The open kitchen offers plenty of counter space and includes: - Premium pots and pans - Quality knives and cutting boards - Full cooking and baking tools - Measuring cups and spoons - Baking pans - Blender and Instant Pot (which also works as a slow cooker) You’ll also find a fully stocked coffee station with a coffee maker that supports both drip coffee and K-cups. We provide coffee, creamer, and sweeteners so you can start your mornings with ease. BEDROOMS, BATHROOMS & UTILITY ROOM: The home has 3 bedrooms, each with a 50” 4K smart TV and a smart speaker that can be used for music, alarms, or white noise. - Primary bedroom: King bed, walk-in closet, and en suite bathroom - Bedroom 2: Queen bed - Bedroom 3: Queen bed + Twin XL bed We didn’t cut corners on comfort either - all mattresses are high quality and designed for a great night’s sleep! With the pull-out sleeper sofa in the living room and a rollaway bed stored in the primary bedroom closet, the total bed count is 6. The bathrooms are newly renovated and stocked with essentials including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, clean towels, and toilet paper. Blow dryers are provided as well. The utility room includes: - Washer & dryer - Iron and ironing board - Clothes steamer - Laundry detergent and dryer sheets BACKYARD: This is hands-down one of our favorite spaces, and one we think your group will love too! The backyard features a solid wood gazebo with mosquito netting and a built-in bar ledge for food or drinks. A tall, custom privacy fence surrounds the property, creating a surprisingly private feel despite being close to downtown. We designed the backyard to be both beautiful and functional, with: - Cornhole, Ladder Toss, and Giant Jenga - A charcoal BBQ grill - Comfortable outdoor seating Two fire pits: - A gas fire pit under the gazebo - A wood-burning fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs (note: firewood not provided) There’s also a dog park–style pet waste station stocked with bags to help keep the yard clean and odor-free. The lighting at night really transforms the space and makes it perfect for winding down after a day out in San Antonio! OTHER NOTES: - Premium high-speed internet with a mesh system provides fast, reliable coverage throughout the entire property. - We do our best to ensure propane is available for the gas fire pit. Charcoal and firewood are not provided. - A Pack ’n Play and high chair are available in the primary bedroom closet. Additional child-proofing items can be provided upon request. Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located house close to Southtown (2 miles); the riverwalk, Alamodome, and Alamo (5 miles); Frost Bank Center & Freeman Coliseum (8 miles); Lackland AFB and Fort Sam (9 miles), Sea World (15miles). Newly renovated, stocked kitchen, laundry machines, 4 parking spaces, coffee and tea bar, 5 Smart TVs (all bedrooms, living room, game room), outside security cameras. Clean and comfortable! No spaces shared with other people. The space Cozy 3 bedroom with Queen size Dream Cloud mattresses fully encased for added protection , also have a queen size air mattress. There are 2 bathrooms , one is private en suite and has a tub/ shower combo and towel warmer, the other bath is a walk in shower and is shared by the rest of the guests and both have hair dryers and a few personal care items. The dining area has table for 8 with plenty of room in fully stocked kitchen for you to cook a family meal or enjoy carry out from local restaurants and eateries. Game room has table for all kinds of board, card, or dice games. Living room is located directly across from dining area so everyone can interact. Full size laundry is available and iron and ironing board is provided. Our house has no steps in the entrance ( just a slight incline) or inside the house and there is ample room for those in wheelchairs or needing the use of walkers to navigate the space. There is no carpet in the house, just area rugs in various parts of the house, which is easier for those with disabilities to move about. We will be adding more amenities to our outside space in the near future to further help you enjoy your stay! The Alamo is about a mile, and you can walk or scooter anywhere downtown! The Alamodome is 9/10ths of a mile or about a 20 minute walk to the entrance. Guests are walking just steps from restaurants such as The Battalion, Rosario’s, Maverick, Bliss, Cascabel, Pharm Table, Senor Veggies, my favorite sandwich shop The Filling Station. ... and too many others to list! Also steps away are great bars such as The Friendly Spot, Bar America, the historic Rathskeller, Beethoven’s old German hangout and many more!
