Because of this, there is tons of historic charm with hardwood floors, and interesting angles. Some aspects we find really great is the full kitchen and tons of closet space for those that want to feel at home. This space is also ideal for families that want two bedrooms! Guest access As super hosts for over a year, we love to be available to our guests. However, we also like guests to feel they have a great deal of privacy. The unit has its own private entrance up a short flight of stairs to the upper level. We also provide electronic locks so guests don't need to worry about getting a key, or hanging on to a key. This also provides a great deal of flexibility for checkin! There is ample street parking for those guests with a car, however with the proximity to downtown, restaurants, bike lanes, and bus stops... a car is not necessary in this location. Other things to note This listing is great for families. We have a Graco pack n’ play that is available to guests upon request. We also have a collapsible stroller that is available to guests during their stay. One thing to note: this unit only has a standing shower. If your kiddo needs a tub, you can request to borrow Portable one from us. Otherwise, the shower is great for hosing little ones down. If you smoke, do so outside, away from entrances to the property, and dispose of any refuse outside. Golden rule. In general, we try to follow the golden rule: treat others how you would want to be treated. To that end, please treat the property, its contents, and its neighbors with respect. Be mindful of your presence: all of our homes are privately owned and have full-time neighbors. When you are in the property, please be gentle with furnishings and amenities. If you use something, please put it back when you are done. Be respectful of the neighbors and the community. Do not create a potential hazard or nuisance to others. Please keep noise levels to a minimum, especially during our quiet hours, between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. If you are in a property that shares walls or floors/ceilings with another property, please be especially mindful: loud voices, heavy footsteps or rolling suitcases, and loud music or TV can easily carry. If we receive a complaint regarding noise or nuisance from a neighbor, we will let you know promptly so that you can address the issue. Please do not expect to be able to check-in early unless we have told you in advance that we can accommodate it, and please do not overstay your check-out time. If you do not vacate by the check-out time (or late check-out time as agreed by us), you will be billed for a late departure fee of up to $50 per hour. We may also remove all occupants and their personal property from the property at your expense. Check-out procedures. Our cleaning fee covers our costs to prepare the linens, disinfect the property, and reset it for the next guests. It is not intended to cover the clean up of excessive messes. We ask all guests to return the property to us in a reasonably clean condition. Before you go, we ask that you wash your dishes, make sure trash is put in bins (you don’t have to take it out, but please don’t leave trash strewn around the place – put it in a receptacle), and clean up any spills or messes that happened during your stay. We will take care of the towels and linens – leave dirty towels in a pile on the bathroom floor and dirty beds unmade. Also, please return items that were moved during your stay to their original places. If you leave an excessive mess, you will be charged for our team’s additional cleaning time. Do not move furniture or decor. Guests should NOT redecorate during their stay, as this risks causing damage to the property and requires additional cleaning time to restore the listing to its original condition. Guests who have moved furniture or decorations during their stay and failed to return them to their original location upon checkout may be charged an additional cleaning fee for each item, in addition to any applicable repair or replacement costs incurred by the movement of furniture or decorations. Property damage. You accept responsibility for returning the property and its contents in largely the same condition you found it. We understand accidents happen and ask that you please inform us immediately if anything breaks or is damaged during your stay. If property is damaged or goes missing during your stay, you may be responsible for its replacement or repair. Outdoor areas. We have furnished several outdoor areas for our guests’ enjoyment. To make sure we can keep offering these amenities to all of our guests, we ask each guest to be respectful of others and to clean up after themselves. Please do not leave any trash outside and clean up after any spills or messes. If the property has a grill, please be sure to clean the grates when you are done: heat the grill to high to burn off any remaining food and scrub the grates with the provided grill brush (in the grill cabinet). Don’t leave candles or open flames unattended. Please be careful. If you are lighting candles or using any open flames, please make sure you know where the fire extinguishers are in advance (check under the kitchen sink, in the laundry room, in the pantry, or on the patio), and do not leave any flames or other potential hazards unattended. Do not engage in any illegal activities on the property. This includes drugs, illegal internet activity, underage drinking, and other illegal activities. Any guests found to be in violation of this policy will be asked to leave immediately, without a refund, and will forfeit any remaining nights on their reservation. Cancellations. Your reservation may be refundable under narrow conditions. Please review the cancellation policy on the listing prior to booking. We have strict cancellation policies because we are a small business with a limited number of unique places to stay. We do not oversell our listings: when you reserve with us, we hold your dates and turn away other potential guests, who might have been interested in those dates. If that happens, we will do our best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We are not responsible for the inoperability or unavailability of any amenities during your stay. If an issue arises during your stay, contact us as soon as you notice them. The sooner you notify us, the sooner we can address the problem. We will do our best to fix things as quickly as possible, and we appreciate your understanding that repairs and remedies may take time and coordination. We will take appropriate steps to remedy any reported problem as soon as we can. The space This apartment is the upstairs floor of a 2 story commercial building located on the north end of downtown Bellingham. The ground floor is a naturopathic doctor's office. We don't have an elevator so there is a flight of stairs. It borders the "Lettered Streets" neighborhood and the Central Business District and is across the street from the Whatcom Creek water way and kitty-corner from Bellingham Senior Center. Walk to anywhere in downtown, and we are about 5 minutes walk to City Hall and Whatcom County Courthouse. Guest access This is a 2 bedroom apartment that is completely private. There is a storage room across from the bathroom, that is locked and unoccupied, but not available for guests. It is used to store linens and towels and cleaning supplies. There is not a full kitchen, but we try hard to include the basics which include fridge, microwave, toaster and electric kettle, as well as plates, bowls, wine glasses, etc. The apartment has a shelf full of games and puzzles for both children and adults. Nestled on 5 park-like acres, our home has plenty of space with close proximity to town, Mt Baker, trails, lakes and the bay. The apartment includes the entire lower level of a two story house. It is very cozy yet spacious and has property trails and a pond to explore. If you have a larger group check out the Pond View Cottage located on the same property. If you are a traveling nurse or have need for a mid term stay please feel free to inquire. We offer discounts for longer stays. The space The home has lots of open living space and is great for a group or a couple to have a nice getaway. We also have a guest cottage (Pond View Cottage) located across the property that sleeps 2-3 guests. It can be rented in conjunction with the Bed n Brew to allow for a larger group. In the summer, you can enjoy barbecuing on the patio, playing yard games in one of the many areas on the 5 acres, or a beverage overlooking the pond on the deck. A good cup of coffee in the morning on the patio is serene. There are lots of deer passing through, bunnies, squirrels and birds of all kinds. Plus there is lots of fruit to share, especially in late summer. We are located very close to mountain biking trails and lots of hiking. In the winter, our location is very convenient for heading up to the mountain for snow activities. It makes a great landing spot for a ski or snowshoeing weekend. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire first level (daylight basement) of the house. It is completely separate with its own entrance and a slider that opens to the patio area. We are happy to share access to the rest of the property. Its a great place to hang out and have fun. Other things to note Although the rental has separate entrances and living space from our upper level, it is still one house overall. Some general living noises should be expected. There is no stove, but an induction burner, toaster oven, microwave, griddle and a crockpot are there for your use. Plus use of an outdoor grill. Please let us know if you plan to bring a pet. A good thing to know about our dog friendly status is that we also have pets. We are true animal lovers. Our pets consist of 2 sweet rescue pups and 2 cats. Your pet is welcome as long as it is well behaved and well potty trained. We charge a nominal fee for your pet. Guests other than the ones listed must have prior approval. This is not a party house. Baker, snow-covered year-round. Outdoor activities abound nearby. Share in the quiet, & the feel that you are in your home away from home. The space We offer both short-term and long-term stays in our 900 sq ft recently renovated spacious 2-BR unit with a queen bed and additional sleeping provided by a queen-size roll-away bed. Study or work in the living room with a roll-top desk. In warm months, enjoy the backyard and use of the grill provided, as well as leisurely walks around our fields, garden and vineyard. A hammock hangs in the trees along the seasonal creek. Entrance is ground-level. Bathroom has grab bars for comfort. In the winter, when it snows, it's fun to go snow-shoeing!
