It boasts a stunning waterfront with 64 feet of private water frontage on Port Bay with a shared dock that will accommodate up to a 25’ boat; only a short boat ride to the channel connecting Lake Ontario. The cottage offers two bedrooms, plus a sofa sleeper in the sunroom, comfortable beds, all linens, blankets, pillows included. The bathroom has a new 50 gallon hot water heater and spacious shower, so enjoy a leisurely hot shower when coming in from adventures on The Bay or in the surrounding areas. Living room has a sofa and a loveseat, with a 43” Roku tv. The kitchen is small but fully equipped! The cottage also has an enclosed sunroom with board games, a sofa-sleeper, and a table to sit at to enjoy a game or cuppa while taking in the views of the waterfront. 100% non smoking property. Violators will need to leave immediately with no refund, and pay a $300. remediation fee. No animals permitted due to severe health risk to homeowner; violators will need to leave immediately with no refund. This is a quiet cottage community; cottages are close together, therefore 10:00 p.m. quiet hours must be strictly adhered to, so as to be respectful of the neighbors. Guest access You have the privacy of the entire cottage to yourself. The yard, including the hot tub, kayaks, hammocks, and Firepit are also solely for your enjoyment. The boat dock is shared only with myself and my family. There is no guest access to the boathouse or the shed. Lawn maintenance is once a week, and may occur during your stay. Trash pick up is also once a week and may occur during your stay- no need for you to do anything- trash collection will collect trash directly from cans located by shed. This is just part of lake life. We do our best to keep them out of the cottage, but it is up to you to keep screens and doors closed tight, and clean up day to day while staying here. Enjoy easy access to both Port Bay and Lake Ontario for swimming, boating, or relax by the water at the public pebble beach The space There is no smoking or vaping allowed at all. There will be a $300 cleaning fee. Guest access Guests have access to the whole cottage as well as a yard. Guests can use the PitBoss grill/smoker and a black stone griddle. There is a fire pit to sit around at night for a camp fire. Other things to note There is absolutely no smoking or vaping allowed at all. There will be a $300 fee. The cottage is great for a water recreation get a way. A great place for swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, or just relaxing taking in the beautiful sunsets at the lake. There is access to Port Bay with 2 state boat launches with in 1 mile each way that are free. There is also a marina within walking distance where you can keep your boat at for a fee. There is access to Lake Ontario through the channel from Port Bay for amazing fishing and recreational boating. Walk or drive down to pebble beach for a swim or watching the sunsets. There are many places to go for hiking trails or just walk across the street and explore the state land.

Port Bay Cottage

Peaceful waterfront property. Over a half acre situated on Stanford Creek. Direct access to water leading to Port Bay off of Lake Ontario. 2 sit-on, 2 sit-in kayaks, canoe, SUP, and paddleboat for guests to enjoy. 15 minutes to Fairhaven Beach, 20 minutes to Chimney Bluffs, 30 minutes to Sodus Point Beach, 40 minutes to Cayuga Lake State Park and then the surrounding Finger Lakes. An hour to Rochester or Syracuse. Wineries and breweries within 20 minutes. Golf course 5 minutes away. New C/Air The space ***New for 2026 central air ***There is no bathtub; only a walk in shower *** This is a pet friendly listing. It would not be a good fit for anyone with pet allergies or severe allergies. The kitchen has all the things I consider necessary, including coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. There are stairs from the deck to the backyard. The backyard has flat areas, but there are hills that lead down to the water. You will need to walk up a moderately steep hill or stairs to get back to the house. There is a floating dock with a kayak launch. There is a fire pit. Please buy your own wood. This home is not suitable for small children, as there's no way to block the stairs to the basement. There are no cabinet locks in the kitchen. There are no child proof electrical plug covers. There is a gas grill. Please brush it with the grill brush provided when you’re done. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house. There is one locked closet in the second bedroom for the host's personal items and cleaning supplies. There is one locked cabinet in the basement with extra cleaning supplies. Guests do not have access to the shed or boathouse. Guests do have access to the dock and kayak launch. Other things to note Thermostat is locked at 68° or higher for the summer to prevent freezing of the unit. There is a box of firewood near the fire pit. This is so that guests may have a fire the first night. If you need more wood, please get some at the multitude of stands by the road. There is a great little stand at the corner of East Port Bay Rd. and Brown Rd., less than 5 minutes away. If a lot of excess wood is used a $50 fee will be added so I can replenish for the next guests. The water levels vary by time of year. The later in the summer, the lower the water. I do not offer refunds for water level or weather. Please clean up after your dog(s). If I have to remove dog poop, a $200 fee will be added. Please clean the propane grill if you use it.

There is a cute little porch to sit in between the master bedroom and the deck. The deck features a a grill, seating area, and an outdoor eating table. HOT TUB On the deck for up to 4 people with dusk to Dawn lights. The backyard is part of Port Bay Campground and is available for playing, walking, or participating in community events. The front yard contains a fire ring for any late night relaxation and fun. Guest access As a guest, you will have the whole house to yourself. Other things to note This beautiful cottage is located near the corner of Port Bay and Lake Ontario. It includes small boat access to the bay, and a nice stroll through a wooded path to Lake Ontario. On the shore of Lake Ontario is a pebbly beach with shallow water. Enjoy getting your feet wet or bring a picnic as well. We are not directly on the lake or bay, but there is access within walking distance. This cottage is also part of the Port Bay Campground. The campground features a pavilion, horseshoes, a volleyball net, a large sandbox and playground for the kids, plenty of space for kicking the soccer ball around or throwing a frisbee, a basketball hoop, and plenty of seated games and space for close family times. The bedrooms are on the second floor. One bedroom has a king bed and the other has two twin beds. The full bathroom is on the first floor. The cozy living room has a 65 inch tv, as well as a pull out sofa bed. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher and granite countertops. There is a laundry room on the first floor. Enjoy the beautiful scenery from the enclosed front porch and the large deck. The property also has a fire pit and private rock beach. A dock for boat storage is available upon request. If you are looking for something bigger or extra space to bring friends and family, there is also another house for rent on the property. You'll find a quiet setting at this comfortable home with pastoral views, steps from Port Bay. Year round, take in Chimney Bluffs and Sterling Nature Center’s beauty, enjoy beer, cider, and wine tasting, and explore regional antiquing. In summer enjoy Ren Fair, kayaking, boating, birding, and abundance of produce & farm goods. Fall brings crisp weather, seasonal color, and apples galore, while winter guests enjoy quiet solitude, winter walks, skiing, and ice fishing. Something for every season! The space This 1,900 square foot 4 bedroom, 2 bath home is set back from the main road, separated by trees, enabling privacy while having lake and bay proximity. The property offers rural beauty, with fruit trees, a pond, and acres of woods. There is a walking path around the pond and a pond-side bench to enjoy your morning coffee. There is plenty of nature to see, with frequent sightings of deer, birds of all kinds, ducks, geese, fox, skunks, rabbits, and other wildlife. The sunsets and sunrises are amazing, both at the property and at the less than 5 minute drive to the lake. Inside the home, you'll find a comfortable living room with a smart TV (several streaming apps are provided, no TV/cable) and games, books, and DVDs for all ages. The dining room seats 8 and the full kitchen, stocked with ample dishes and cooking tools (and some assorted spices), gives you everything you need to enjoy meals at home. Coffee, tea, and fixings are also provided. There is first floor laundry, with detergent provided. The downstairs has mini split air conditioning. There are full bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. The four bedrooms are all upstairs. There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds, one bedroom with 2 twin XL beds which can be converted to a king bed on request, and the fourth bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed, plus another twin bed. All bedrooms have dressers, closets, and hangers, as well as in-room window air conditioners and ceiling fans. For families, we have available an as-you-grow high chair, booster seat, pack and play, and a play mat, which are sanitized after every guest use, as well as kids' plastic bowls, plates, cups, and cutlery. Books and games have an assortment for all ages. Guest access The full home and patios are yours to use, in addition to the majority of the yard. There is a large parking area that is yours exclusively as well. I (the host) usually live on site in a smaller house in the back of the property, about .1 mile further up the driveway. There are significant trees and distance separating the main house from my smaller house which can be seen from the aerial shot. The general area around my house would be off limits for guests, just to give me a little space for myself. I also may do some maintenance work on the property and gardens, or take a walk around the pond or in the woods, but other than that, the yard is exclusively yours to enjoy! Other things to note Property Note: this is a 15-acre, rural property with a pond and proximity to the bay. While we engage in proactive pest prevention and ongoing pest control mechanisms, bugs (and the occasional mouse) are a part of country living, and unfortunately cannot be completely prevented. In addition, we can't prevent bugs entering the home when doors and windows are opened by guests. Refund requests for such encounters will be respectfully declined. It is also recommended to be cautious at night and not stray too far from the house - it is VERY dark at night and surprise wildlife encounters in the dark might not be pleasant.
