Our Mystic cabin is truly an up north paradise perfect for your family vacation, couples, or friends’ getaways. The space Cabin exists for guests as its sole purpose. This is not a weekend residence that doubles as a short-term rental. This property is managed for your comfort and convenience. We have installed a water purifier system for clean drinking water, as well as a water softener, and new mattresses/pillows/linens/towels are provided. It is our goal that every guest looks forward to another visit! Cabin sleeps up to 6 comfortably: this covers a combination of up to 4 adults and 2 young children (3 years and under). One bedroom with a king size bed and an open loft bedroom containing 2 queen size beds, one full size futon, and 2 child size futon beds (toddler size beds). Living room has a wood burning fireplace to warm the cold evenings, and a TV is provided with Fire Stick. The dining room table seats 6 and breakfast bar seats 3. Large covered porch is great for outdoor seating. Sunny days and sunsets, property boasts a west facing sandy shoreline just steps from the cabin where you will enjoy daily activities including campfires, swimming, fishing, and beautiful sunsets to wind down your day. We promise you will love your time at the lake! Guest access Activities to enjoy: Bring your own boat! We provide a boat lift (Maximum length 18’ beam 94” weight loaded 2,000 lbs.). Public boat launch is a convenient 1-mile trip from the cabin. A pedal boat, canoe and two kayaks are provided for guests use. Thunder Lake offers many activities, all your water sports limited by your imagination. If being social on the water is your thing, boat over to the community sand bar where there is always a fun crowd to hang with. Thunder Lake is a premier regional walleye and bass lake. Although walleyes are a challenging quarry, you are often rewarded with a nice catch and walleye dinner when the conditions are right. Some of the best early season walleye and bass fishing is from your private dock. In the Fall, a little bird hunting by day and chasing big walleyes at sunset/sunrise when the big girls are biting. Many off lake adventures and entertainment await beginning with kid-friendly weekly Longville Turtle races (every Wednesday), ATV to local festivals or try a different trail each day, golf options or fish some smaller local lakes in the area. For the ATV crowd, the first trail head is only 1 mile from the cabin, plus the Moose River Trail, Soo Line, and Emily/Outing trails. All trails connect to the Soo Line where endless miles await. NOTE: Property ATV restrictions (operating times/parking/noise & speeds) aimed at respecting our neighbors and others enjoying their vacation and weekends. Must sign ATV agreement prior to check-in. For the winter crowd, this is a snowmobile paradise right out your front door. The lake access to trails takes you throughout Cass & Crow Wing counties and beyond. If snowmobiling isn’t your thing, set up your fish house within sight of the cabin. Other things to note Pets are currently not allowed on the property. Minimum renter age is 26. No campers or tents are allowed on the property. It is very important to us that we respect our neighbors and residents on our private street. Fireworks are not allowed at any time, and firearms are not allowed on the property, including in parked vehicles regardless of permit. Hunting season exceptions with prior approval. Courtesy volume reduction from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. each day. Safety is important to us. Guests are responsible for ensuring that life jackets be used when necessary. Hosts will have some life jackets available; however, it is the Guests responsibility to ensure proper use and fit is appropriate for the size and age. For children, it is requested that Guests bring their own to ensure the proper fit requirements are met. ATV restrictions: Park in designated area only, no aftermarket exhaust systems, all ATV’s/UTV’s must be licensed with copies of registration provided prior to check-in, slow travel on private road (20 mph) and on Thunder Lake Drive. The numerous trails in the area represent ample opportunity to have fun, we just have a simple ask that everyone keep the big fun on the trails.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we only rent for full weeks with a changeover day of Saturday; no exceptions are made. Pauls’ Guesthouse is a fully-renovated and newly furnished split level home situated on pristine Big Bass Lake, approximately six miles north of Outing, MN in southeastern Cass County (approximately 150 miles or three hours north of the Twin Cities). The space Located adjacent to Land O' Lakes State Forest between the tiny towns of Outing and Remer. We're approximately 150 miles (3 hours) north of the Twin Cities. The Guesthouse is located on a narrow peninsula with lake views on both sides. Easy access to the lake by pathway. Pauls’ Guesthouse is a fully-renovated and newly furnished 1980’s split level home situated on pristine Big Bass Lake, approximately six miles north of Outing, MN in southeastern Cass County (approximately 150 miles or three hours north of the Twin Cities). Bass Lake is a stunning mid-sized lake, with amazing 20-foot water clarity; it consists of three main bays with virtually all shoreline being fully natural with mature white and red pines reaching down to water’s edge. The lake has public access and is perfect for pontooning and fishing. The Guesthouse sits on 2.5 acres and is located across the mid-section of the lake’s main peninsula; it is a private setting with no sightlines to surrounding cabins. The location is ideal – the Guesthouse is situated in Land O’ Lakes State Forest with immediate access to snowmobile trails in the winter and ATV trails during the remainder of the year. The trail system offers routes to bars and restaurants in nearby towns including Emily, Outing, Remer and Longville. The Guesthouse comfortably sleeps six to eight people. It has three bedrooms and a large bathroom with walk-in shower on the upper level. Two bedrooms have queen-sized beds and the third has two twin beds; all are nicely appointed. The lower level consists of the kitchen, living room (with queen-sized sofa sleeper), dining room, laundry facility, half bath, and there is access to the attached garage. The Guesthouse was completely renovated in 2011 and all appliances and furnishings are new. This is a non-smoking facility. Pets will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Amenities include a gas-fired potbellied stove in the living room, central air conditioning, dual hot water tanks, phone, wireless Internet, flat-screened TV with a full range of cable and local channels, screened porch with picnic table, propane BBQ grill, fire pit with lounge chairs, and a 16’ dock. The Guesthouse’s kitchen is fully furnished for all of your cooking needs. For your convenience, the local marina (Land O’ Lakes Marine in Outing) rents pontoons, fishing boats and speed boats. Rentals range from daily to weekly and they’ll deliver the boat to the dock prior to your arrival. Also, there are several favorite local restaurants to sample: The Village Inn in Outing (great full menu), The Deer Haven Supper Club (great for walleye and ribs), and The Anchorage Inn on Lake Inguadona (great for homemade pizza). Shop the shops and boutiques in nearly Longville, Emily, Crosby, Crosslake, Pequot Lakes, Walker, Grand Rapids and Nisswa; all are located within an hour of the Guesthouse. Guest access You will have access to the entire home and attached garage, screened porch, fire pit with seating for 8, dock with bench provided in the summer. Feel free to walk through several acres of forest and lakeshore. Other things to note Dogs are allowed if well-behaved and perfectly housebroken - by permission only - and will require an additional $50 charge per dog.
