Please do not ask for an exception.  - All reservations at The Castle are subject to a $1,500 refundable security deposit. - The Castle is equipped with many valuable and irreplaceable antique pieces of art and furniture. This home offers a hot tub, home theater, chef grade kitchen, dining table that can sit 16, arcade room, pool table, shuffle board table, foosball, small indoor mini-golf putting green, master suite with a custom teakwood soaking tub and private porch, mountain views from the back porch, wood firepit (firewood not provided), waterfall, and a gas fireplace in the main living room where you will be able to cozy up on the large leather sectional. Our lodge is nestled in the trees, where you can hear the cool mountain wind blow and the birds chirp. We also have a loft sleeping area. The master suite and the two larger bedrooms, kitchen, dining, great room, and deck are located on the main level of the house. We have 2 smaller bedrooms, 1 bath and 1 loft with a day bed and pull out trundle upstairs. Downstairs in the basement, we have a 1200 SQ ft gameroom, with a 65" tv and sitting area, ping pong area, pool table area, and laundry area. We have a queen pull out sofa available in the gameroom. From the gameroom, you can access the patio and hot tub with a view of the grounds below. Our lot is approx. 7.5 acres, mostly wooded. We have a small creek and spring-fed pond (not for swimming) on the grounds. There is not another house in sight from our deck. It's wonderful! :) We have parking available in the front of the house for 2-3 cars, which is a flat gravel area. There is additional parking available in a driveway to the right of the house; however that driveway is a bit steep. Other things to note We provide a "starter-pack" of basic supplies, such as toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, trash bags, and handsoap. However, we are unable to restock the cabin often enough to keep up with the ongoing toilet paper/supply needs of 14 people over the course of an entire stay. We hope you understand! The good news is that our cabin is only a 5-minute drive from a Family Dollar store where you will find an ample supply of these items! We are about 15 minutes from a full-size grocery store.

Enter to the views of the mountains, surrounded by leather seating in the great room dominated by a stunning wood burning fireplace. The chef's kitchen has plentiful granite countertops and is fully stocked. The prep sink makes for easy clean up! The West wing has a king suite, with smart TV, deck access and a private bath. The East wing has a King bed with smart TV and a private door to the full bathroom. This bath has a tiled shower, granite counters, and also opens to the hallway.  The upper level features a spacious gaming loft with pool table and a wet bar. There is seating for others to spread out. The bedroom suite has a tiled shower and a beautiful, wooden vessel sink. There is a queen bed plus a daybed in this bedroom.  On the lower level, you'll find three proper bedrooms and a nook with built in twin over twin bunks. The West king suite has a shower, double jacuzzi tub, and double granite vanities. The East has another king bed with smart TV and a bedroom with a queen and two twin beds. They share a bathroom with a tiled shower and wooden counters with bowl vessels. The second great room offers deck access, plus a foosball and air hockey table.  - All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.  - Towels and linens will be provided for you. - AWD or 4WD vehicles are required November-April.  - Firewood may be purchased with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax. Firewood payment is collected through the Airbnb Resolution Center. - This homeowner uses three exterior security cameras to monitor the home and ensure it remains safe. One is a doorbell cam, another is on the front of the garage facing the driveway and the third is on the front of the home facing the driveway.  On the main level decks, enjoy the beautiful valley views in the hot tub. Being right off of Hwy 105 means that we have quick and easy access to every thing that the High Country has to offer. Our easy access and proximity to the highway does result in some road noise that some guests may notice. The driveway is asphalt and accessible year round. Although, during winter weather, it is recommended to arrive in a vehicle that has 4x4 or is equipped with snow chains. When we have winter weather in the forecast, I do my best to communicate with guests to ensure proper preparation and have a safe and easy arrival.

Go through to the cozy living room with a gas fireplace to curl up in front of and plenty of seating for the family to enjoy and evening of laughs and memories. Just off of the kitchen and living area, the large deck hosts plenty of chairs to relax with your morning coffee and take in the views of the mountains and Sugar Mountain ski slopes. You can also see this amazing view from the master bedroom, located on the main level with king bed and en suite bathroom. Just out the french doors of the master, take advantage of the brand new sauna.  Entertain the family with a round of billiards, located in the open loft area or go down to the lower level, where you will find a poker table, dart board, and large entertainment center for movie nights. After a day on the slopes or hiking on the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, take a dip in the large hot tub, located just outside of the lower level or spend time around the fire pit in the private yard. This giant home is made for memories, whether you want to take it easy and put your feet up or go out and find your next adventure.  Additional Notes: - All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. Next to the Watauga River, guests can enjoy the idyllic setting outside or spend time in the newly renovated inside. The main level offers dining in the formal room, with additional seating in the breakfast table and the counter. There is a gorgeous kitchen with matte steel appliances and granite counters, both Keurig and drip coffee, and easy access to the dining or living rooms. Near the front entrance is a half bath for convenience. Off the living area is the primary bedroom with a king bed and Roku TV. Off the living area is the primary bedroom with a king bed and Roku TV. The attached full bathroom has a custom tiled shower with stone vanity counters.  Head upstairs and you'll find two wings, each with two bedrooms and a shared bath between them in the hallway. To one side, a queen bedroom and a full over full bunk room with a twin trundle. To the other side of the home, a queen bedroom and a twin over full bunk room that includes a twin trundle. Each of the full bathrooms upstairs has a tub/shower combination and beautiful granite counters. Between the two wings is a large loft, set up as a great space for the family. There is a daybed with trundle to one side with a TV. The opposite side has a twin over twin bunk. For the littlest ones, the loft has a train table for hours of play. Riverwood has plenty of entertainment options, with a newly added game room over the garage including air hockey, foosball and three arcade games.  Outside, the deck has been renovated and leads down to the grounds. Here you’ll find the hot tub and stone patio with a fire pit and Adirondack chairs surrounding it. Explore the yard and walk to the Watauga River ten yards away. Guests may enjoy parking in the garage.   Across the road on the front side is the seasonal outdoor pool, tennis courts, and small park for visitors of Mill Ridge.   Area attractions include: Front Porch Antique Market (<5min) Grandfather Vineyard and Winery (<5min) Mast General Store (10min) Valle Crucis Community Park (10min) App State Campus (12min) Hawksnest Tubing and Ziplining (12min) Sugar Ski (14min)  - All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.  - Guests have access to seasonal pool across the street and tennis courts while staying at this home. Mill Ridge community does not allow pool parking lot to be used for Riverwood overflow parking and this is strictly enforced.  - Towels and linens will be provided for you. - Firewood for the firepit may be purchased with a week's notice. The space Welcome to Peaceful Wood Haven!  Atop the community of Mill Ridge, Peaceful Wood Haven is a completely updated home with five bedrooms, four baths, and a fabulous game room on the lower level.  Level entry from the gravel parking area into the home allows easier access. The beautiful kitchen with butcher block counters offer space to prepare your meals. Guests can sit in the dining room, at the bar seating, or in the breakfast table. Nearby is the living room with woodburning fireplace and comfortable seating around the television. All five TVs in the home offer Spectrum cable using the streaming app.   Sleeping Arrangements On the main level is a queen bedroom with TV. The full bathroom with tiled shower opens to both the bedroom and the hallway. Upstairs are three bedrooms and two full baths. The primary bedroom has king bed, a full sleeper sofa, and a private balcony. Attached is a full bathroom that includes a tiled shower with body sprayers. To the other side of the upper level are two bedrooms that share a full bathroom with a tub/shower combination. The queen bedroom has a TV, and to the other side are a Twin over Twin and Twin over Full bunks. The lower level has a bedroom with two sets of Twin over Twin bunks. Attached is a full bathroom and the washer and dryer.   The lower level also includes a game room with pool table, a free-standing foosball table, and a Queen murphy bed. Lounge on the large sectional with your friends, or break out the board games on a rainy afternoon.  Outside, enjoy the main level decks, relax in the hot tub, or stroll by the waterfall on your way to the trailhead, located next to the parking area.   Mill Ridge Resort is a beautiful and affordable community with resort amenities including outdoor tennis courts, heated outdoor swimming pool, the Watauga River and beautiful hiking trails! When you are ready to head out and explore our area, the central location right between Boone and Banner Elk NC offers an ideal starting point for all of your mountain adventures.  Important Information - This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets to this home. - Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax per night.  - All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. It's an ideal location for skiers (on the slopes) and hikers and close to many popular attractions like Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, Beech Mountain Skiing and Tubing, the Grandfather Trout Farm and much more. The space Inside Rivendell, the main level features a great room with beautiful views of the slopes, complete with comfy leather seating around a wood-burning stone fireplace and a large-screen TV. If you're hosting a big get-together, the spacious kitchen has everything you need, including two sinks, two ranges, two refrigerators/freezers, and an ice maker! The cozy dining area has a table that seats 14, a smaller table for four, and a kitchen island with seating for four, so everyone can gather for meals. The spacious deck, complete with a gas grill, overlooks the slopes—ideal for quality time outdoors.  Downstairs, you'll find a family room that's ideal for relaxation and play. Enjoy the wildlife, all kinds of activities and, of course, A Big View! Conveniently located in the Town of Seven Devils - between Boone and Banner Elk.  Main/Entry Level The main level wrap-around deck boasts picturesque long-range mountain views and a year round majestic profile view of the ‘grandfather’ on Grandfather Mountain. This huge deck has ample seating for outdoor dining, a direct-connected Weber gas grill (no tanks to change!) At an elevation of 4700 ft., you can see for miles and the sunrise and sunset are spectacular. The deck has easy, level access from the parking area – no stairs to climb.   The open, main level living area boasts 20+ ft. tongue and groove ceilings, oversized picture windows and sliding glass doors that show off the amazing mountain views, a floor-to-ceiling wood burning stone fireplace (wood not provided), comfortable furniture and down pillows, hard wood floors, cable HDTV with DVD player, and a Bose surround sound system with iPod connectivity. The fully equipped kitchen features everything you need to prepare the perfect meal—new stainless steel appliances, a stocked pantry, Keurig, Calphalon cookware, all utensils, small appliances and serving pieces. Enjoy your meals at the open dining area with terrific views and seating at the breakfast counter. There is also a half bath with a pedestal sink and a laundry room on this level.   Time to sleep? A few steps away is the large master suite has a king-sized bed, large closet, a private bath with garden tub, and cable HDTV with DVD player.  Upstairs Level The top floor of the home has two bedrooms; twin beds in one and a queen bed in the other, cable HDTV and walk-in closets. There is a full bathroom, and a sleeping loft features a versatile twin daybed with a pop-up trundle that creates a king bed. At the end of the hall is an office/Library offers a variety of books to read or enjoy the view of Bear Paw State Natural Area and its unique rock outcroppings from the private deck.  Downstairs Level Enjoy a second living area with gas fireplace, cable HDTV with DVD player, foosball and shuffle board tables, board games, puzzles, children’s DVDs and books. To one side of the room is a wet bar area with kitchenette, includes a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. There is a full bathroom as well as two bedrooms; second master suite features a queen bed, private full bath and two closets. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided - Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am - Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent. - Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates. - No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home. - Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook. - No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable. - 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.  - This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets into this home or requesting an exception to the rules. - The homeowner uses exterior security cameras to monitor their property and ensure it remains safe. There are three (3) cameras facing the driveway and one (1) camera in the backyard facing the woods. No cameras are aimed at deck spaces, the hot tub, firepit, or other gathering areas and there are no interior cameras.
