This remodeled, rustic, farmhouse is in a beautiful rural setting. It sits on 10 acres of wooded land at the end of a dead-end road providing plenty of peace and quiet. Sit on one of three porches, or, float in the pool while you look over the land and watch the wildlife. The many windows in the house allow you to look out over the two ponds and enjoy the scenery. There is also plenty of outdoor space with chairs on the front and back porches, tables, umbrellas and chaise lounges. The space The entire 2 story, 5 bedroom, 3 bath house is yours to enjoy. It has a wood burning fireplace, full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and ceiling fans in every room. There are 2 coffee makers available with coffee, creamer, and sweetener provided. The house has a washer and dryer which you can feel free to use as well. We have tried to equip the house with everything you will need from pots and pans to dishes and towels. The house also has satellite internet TV with Wifi. Come and play horseshoes in our horseshoe pit or enjoy sitting by the fire pit. We want everyone to enjoy themselves, but, we are firm that there are NO MORE THAN 12 GUESTS ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY AT ANY TIME. This property is located just outside of Rockwall County, and, only 12 miles to historic Rockwall which is on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. We are within 10 miles of 6 event venues: Occasions at Stone River, Big Sky Event Hall, The Pearl at Sabine Creek, Little Wren Wedding Venue, The Springs Event Venue, The White Sparrow, and Country Charm Events which is only 1.8 miles away. This house is perfect for the family attending an event at one of these venues. There are a few things we want to caution you about. Because of the rural location, this property is difficult to find and we strongly recommend you arrive before dark. We are happy to meet you nearby, on an easily accessed highway and escort you in. If you try it on your own, it is imperative that you follow the map we will provide. Cell service can be spotty so you may not want to rely on your GPS. There are a few gravel roads to travel to reach this destination. They are fine for most cars, but they are not good for low clearance vehicles like sports cars. It is important to be aware this is in the country, and. while we have taken every precaution we can, you need to watch out for snakes and scorpions. Finally, the pool is not fenced. If you bring small children, you will need to be aware they cannot play outside unattended. Guest access You will have access to the entire house and all 10 acres to explore as you like. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. All 4 bedrooms are large and spacious. Each has a Roku TV. Game room with pool table, 65 inch Roku TV, dart board, and seating. Nicely stocked kitchen and dining in kitchen, dining room, and on patio. The pool is available, but not heated. Spa is not heated. The pool is cleaned weekly on Tuesday. There is a pool net available to remove leaves and other debris. The space The home was built in 2003. We make updates in our off season. We’re currently focusing on the pool. The whole pool was replastered and tile was replaced around the spa. The pool deck will be done in the late fall/winter months. The pool /spa are not heated. The pool heater is not working. Children under 12 must be supervised when in backyard and in the game room. Each bedroom is large and spacious with a Roku TV. The kitchen is well equipped for most of your cooking/baking needs. Salt, pepper, some spices, oil is provided. Coffee, creamer, sugar is also provided. All linens, and towels are provided. While smoking is never allowed inside. Smoking is permitted in the backyard far away from the house and on the front porch. Ash trays are available by request. Trash pickup is on Tuesday. If you stay Monday night, please push trash can out to the street. The air mattress is available upon request. Please advise if it’s needed. It will be setup downstairs in the office. A closet is nearby. While the garage is not a listed amenity, it’s currently available to access the home and park one vehicle. It’s not regularly cleaned and is used for storage. Please let me know if it being unorganized and not regularly cleaned bothers you and I will lock it up during your stay. Guest access A keypad is located on the front door for access. It is self-check in. Other things to note While there is a fence around the backyard, the pool itself does not have a safety fence. The fence has a lock and there are 3 locks on the backdoor. Once the backdoor is unlocked there is access to the 8ft pool. Guests must use caution and abide by all pool rules. There is a 4ft shallow end, but the host doesn't recommend for non-swimmers. The space The property is located past a neighborhood of new built homes, at the end of a dirty road, ensuring peace, privacy, and minimal traffic. Guest access Some of the property is off limits. Guests are asked to not go through closed gates or over fences, since livestock may be unpredicatable. Space from the entry way of the guesthouse parking space to the guest house may be occupied and across but not the space under the main house. Located in beautiful Poetry Texas, halfway between Royse City and Terrell, 15 miles from Rockwall’s The Harbor on Beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard, with great restaurants and retail. Shalom Ranch is gated, fenced 10.5 acres with longhorns and chickens. Peaceful country setting, great for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city, being close to a wedding venue or just resting and relaxing. Conveniently located within 15 miles of 16 wedding venues. Only 38 miles to Canton’s First Monday Trade Days. The space The road dead ends at Shalom Ranch so there is no traffic and very quiet. Perfect place to relax laying in bed or sitting in a recliner watching the 50” Smart Roku TV with Direct TV, read a book or take a great nap. Or step out of your door into the backyard and enjoy the swimming pool with waterfall, lounge in the shade or sun or use the dining or sitting areas. The outdoor kitchen is available for serious cooking. The 38’ Memphis Elite is a pellet grill, a smoker, or an oven with temperatures from 180-700 degrees. The 20” Alfresco power burner can also be a griddle. There is a sink with hot and cold water and two regular size burners. High speed internet is available. Guest access The apartment is one large room the size of a garage. It is attached to the main house with a front and back door. Covered parking is provided with a covered walkway to the back door, which is the main door. Guests are welcome to use all the outdoor areas. The swimming pool, fire pit, kitchen, dinning areas, and all front yard and back yard sitting areas. The back of the property is wooded and backs up to a dry creek. Guests are welcome to explore the property but will be greeted by two very friendly, very happy Great Pyrenees. They won’t go past the field due to electric dog fence. Other things to note The swimming pool does not have a fence so children would always have to be supervised. Both entrances have child proof locks to ensure children can’t exit on their own. There are two Great Pyrenees guard dogs in the field guarding the chickens. They are extremely friendly and happy but may bark at night if they sense a predator. There are Longhorns in the field but they won’t bother anyone unless you have cubes to feed them. They can be fed over the fence. We can provide cubes. There is a card table and 4 chairs under the bed. There are several board games and a Jenga block game available. Small dogs are allowed, the Pyrenees love small dogs but may bark at large dogs. Terrell has many good restaurants and grocery stores and is the most convenient to get to. Outdoor smoking is allowed just use the outdoor ashtray.

Guest access Upon arrival, you will see a private rock driveway. When you see the large blue pallet that says “WELCOME TO THE FARM”, the next right is your turn in. There is another “WELCOME TO THE FARM” sign on the exterior of the building with outdoor lights. Your entrance is the white door located in between the two sitting/fire pit areas. Please park on the graveled area and please avoid parking in the area that is near the fence or in front of the large cattle gate leading to the pastures. When you arrive, there is a key lockbox on the wall near the door and you will receive the code within your CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS. There is an additional key hanging inside the space. Please be sure to return both keys to their homes, lock the lockbox back and turn the dial off of the code. You are welcome to check-in anytime after 3PM. If you would like to check-in earlier, please be sure to reach out and let us know so we can do our best to accommodate! Other things to note You will be using a septic system. It is just like normal plumbing, but much more emotional. I HIGHLY encourage, (because demand sounds kind of rude), that you do NOT flush any feminine products, wipes (even the “FLUSHABLE” or “SEPTIC SAFE” wipes). Unless you consider overflowing toilets and paying for your host’s plumbing repairs an essential part of a great vacation, then you will thank me later! The whole property derives its’ water from an underground spring right underneath your feet, (well - VERY farm underneath your feet)! There is a water filtration system that purifies the water using natural minerals and allows us to avoid harsh chemicals. We work very hard to maintain clean environments and a manicured property. We do have the property treated for protection from bug friends and do preventative maintenance, as well. However, we ask that you be very mindful that you are choosing to stay on a FARM in the COUNTRY in the beautiful state of TEXAS. So please do not be shocked or dismayed if you see one of Mother Nature’s little critters. We work hard to keep them in the great outdoors where they are meant to be, but we do ask that you keep in mind, they love indoor plumbing and air conditioning just as much as the rest of us and are quite relentless in their search for it!

As you drive in, you may pass a few older, rustic homes — but once you arrive, you’ll find a peaceful and beautiful retreat waiting for you! Arrival Instructions: Open the gate at the beginning of the driveway. Follow the white rock driveway down to the carport, which has two covered parking spots. There are solar lights that line the driveway, as well as a sensory light in the carport. Walk around the patio to the lake side of the house to find the red front door. Enter using the key code provided before your stay. Other things to note We do not supply water toys such as kayaks, but you are welcome to bring your own. Since there is no boat ramp on the property, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats are the most suitable options. If you have a boat, there are boat ramps available around the lake. We recommend contacting the relevant authorities and doing some research before your stay to ensure a smooth experience if you need a ramp. Don't forget your fishing poles!
