Open style home, with high cedar plank ceilings - 3 bedroom (6 beds total -sleeps 8), 2 bath, a large deck with grill & fireplace, a finished walkout basement and a path to the river - dock coming May, 2026! This is an idyllic summer and fall paradise, with swimming, boating and hiking/ORV near by! The space Cedars was built in 2024, and has been an active Air BNB since early 2025. It sits on 2 forested acres with frontage on the Rapid River, only 1.5 miles from Torch Lake. 3 bedrooms, 2 full & stylish bathrooms, and plenty of outdoor space provide a delightful private retreat. Large circle drive - perfect for those traveling with boats and snowmobile trailers! This place works great for summer boating and winter snowmobiling. Close Proximity to year 'round outdoor activities makes Cedars an ideal adventure outpost: - 1.5 mile from Torch Lake sandbar (4 min drive, 45 min paddle on the river!) - 25 min to Traverse City - 15 min to Elk Rapids (Shorts Brewing) -15 min to Kalkaska - 20 min to Shanty Creek ski resort - 40 min to Boyne Mountain - 60 min to Crystal Mountain - 18 min to Rapid River Trail Camp (snow mobile trails) The Home: 3 bed, 2 full bath with 3 queen and 2 full beds available- sleeps up to 8. Upstairs has high ceilings, open kitchen and living room, and tall windows facing the back acreage with tall cedar trees and a path to the river. Take in the view from the large 40 ft deck with a grill, outdoor seating, and propane fireplace. Two full bathrooms include showers, no tubs. Kitchen has an attractive island and open dining area. Living room has a leather couch and TV. The stone fireplace is non functional; please do not use. Downstairs is a fully furnished walkout basement. There is a bedroom with a set of full size bunk beds, queen bed, and dresser in the bedroom downstairs. Large second living room with two couches, a TV, and eating area with table and chairs. Not available to guests on the lower level: access to the utility room and access to a small locked closet under the steps. No pets, please. Outside: The home is hidden among a thick cedar forest, with one acre out front and another out back. In the back, there is 200 feet of private frontage on the Rapid River, a "Premium Trout Stream" according to Michigan DNR. AND, as of May, 2026, we've installed a brand new private dock! Please note, while the dock is complete, the path to the river is under development and not yet complete. It is muddy, and has plywood laid across a few of the muddier portions while we await installation of a boardwalk. You may use the dock, but guests do so with the understanding that it is at their own risk, and understand that the path is muddy. Boardwalk will be completed in June. Guests are welcome to bring their own kayaks, stand up paddle board, canoe, etc, but access to and use of the river is done at the guest's own risk. Motorized boats are prohibited/unable to navigate the shallow river. Owner assumes no responsibility for activities in the water or woods. Damage or litter in forest or along river's edge will not be tolerated - please enjoy gently. It takes 40-50 minutes to paddle from the home, down the Rapid River, Torch River, into Torch lake. It is a wide, smooth and slow float. If you do the float- note that the rapid river flows toward Torch Lake, but the last 15 min in the Torch River is upstream (manageable in kayak and canoe -but paddle at your own discretion). Please note we are a new build and do not have landscaping or grass yet. The front yard is a dirt/sand mix. There is no dock into the river from our property yet (coming May, 2026). If you see a dock, please do not use as it belongs to our neighbors. Entire home available to guests, exclusive of utility room and small closet under the steps. Other things to note We've recently purchased this property from another airbnb host, so we don't have very many reviews yet as the new owners. Despite the sparse reviews, this home has been up and running as a successful and comfortable airbnb for over a year! The space The main level of the house features an open space floor plan with a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living room, all with spectacular views of the lake! The primary bedroom, laundry and first full bath also reside here. Upstairs holds two more bedrooms and a second full bath. The sliding glass door coming from the living room opens onto the deck facing the water. Here you can enjoy morning coffee, a favorite libation, or grill and dine outdoors. Continue to soak in that view and play in the yard or warm up by an evening bonfire! The sights you will encounter at Camp Fowler are by far the greatest amenity! You will be situated at the south and slightly east end of the 20 mile long lake, perfect for watching the morning and evening colors change from pinks and purples to brilliant yellows, oranges and reds. When you're out on the water, the lake is so clear you can see what lies below the surface for 30 feet or more! This slice of heaven does not disappoint! It's a beautiful 3,500 sq. ft. home with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bath with a spacious private yard. The home includes a family room, living room with fireplace, an all-seasons room, a game room with sitting area, pool table and shuffleboard. Many games and books to create a relaxing or fun environment for those who want to keep busy! The space The house sits on over an acre of land and has a private dock. You can bring your own boat or rent one. You can easily put your boat in once and avoid the launching area until you have to load up after your stay! Property includes a full two car garage. Storage for fishing equipment/skiing/snowboarding or golf clubs can be stored and locked up. There are three different living areas for all to spread out! Two of the living rooms have TV's, the third has a working fireplace to warm up and relax and enjoy a book or a glass of wine! The dining room sits up to 6 people with an additional round wooden table for 4. There is 1 bedroom with a queen bed downstairs with a half bath next to that. A cape cod inspired getaway located on the Torch River Bayou. The home offers a full private 40' seawall that lets into torch river. Torch river connects to the Chain of Lakes over 60 miles and across the street, the sandy access to the famous Torch Lake Sandbar. Walk or take the river to the Sandbar. We are just down the street from the boat launch onto Torch Lake and the river. Less than half a mile from Torch River Marine where you can rent boats and jet skis, and 6 miles from Alden. The space The House has four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen. We have a large deck with a gas grill that is perfect for hosting the end of day BBQ. There is a fire pit overlooking the Torch Bayou great for experiencing a proper Northern Michigan evening enjoying the view, with roasted marshmallows. The space Our spacious, 2500 sq ft, 5 bedroom, 2.5 bath home will be your next favorite vacation spot! We are right on the Rapid River with abundant wildlife and natural beauty. Our river connects to the chain of lakes with DNR public access literally right around the corner, just half a mile down our street. **Please note, at this time, the river in front of our dock is too shallow for motorized watercraft. You will have to put in at the DNR launch.** DOGS Dogs are allowed at our cottage but only with prior approval and prepaid pet fee with your reservation. Please respect our pet policy and be forthright in paying for your dog. If we find evidence that you had a dog inside the home without our prior consent, you will be charged the pet fee of $100 per dog plus an additional $100 per dog penalty fee. ENTRYWAY You'll enter the home into a large entryway which opens to the kitchen, primary living room and dining room. Rustically decorated, the couch has a queen sleeper sofa, loveseat, oversized chair, electric fireplace unit, electric heater (provided in winter), coffee table, side tables with lamps, smart TV, ceiling fan, large dining room table seating 10, buffet serving table. This room has 2 sliders leading to the large back deck. This room does not have heat or central air, but the electric fireplace unit and space heater keep it comfortable and cozy in the winter. If the space heaters are on too high, the circuit breaker may pop. Reset it in the panel in the Workspace Room next to the desk and turn the heater back on at a lower setting. During the summer, it's typically comfortable and cool with the breeze off the river with open windows and the ceiling fan. Linens for sofa bed are in the hallway closet. Pillows and comforter are in the bench in the Master Bedroom. OUTDOOR PATIO + DECK Enjoy river watching on the large deck! Patio dining sets and bar, propane grill. Cushions for seating are in the deck storage bin. RIVERFRONT DOCK Explore the scenic beauty of the Rapid River on our 4 kayaks (not available in winter months). Please note that the river is too shallow for docking motorized watercraft at this time. BONFIRE PIT Enjoy good conversations and s'mores around the fire! We have 8 Adirondack chairs around the fire pit. Bring your hammock! We have hooks on the trees for hammocking! SHED + YARD We have some yard games in the shed, lifejackets, kayak paddles and fishing poles. NEIGHBOR + DOGS Our neighbor to the east of the home has 2 large friendly dogs. However, she asks that you do not pet them. There is a physical wire fence plus invisible fence between our properties. Our home is located 0.6 miles from the DNR public boat launch for Torch River, where you can access the water by boat, jet ski, or kayak. Please do not launch our kayaks from this launch. Please only launch our kayaks from our dock. If you bring your own boat, it's about a 10-15 minute boat ride from the DNR launch to Torch Lake (parking fees may apply). The Torch Lake Sandbar is a few hundred yards away once you are in Torch Lake. We are part of the Chain of Lakes Water Trail - Torch Lake, Skegemon Lake, Elk Lake and all the interconnecting rivers... over 100 miles of water trails to explore! Bring your own boat or ask about local rental options! Our home is conveniently located to so many places! Alden - 7 minutes away - grocery store, wine tasting, beaches, pickleball courts, cute downtown shops and restaurants. Elk Rapids - 20 minutes away - grocery store, marinas with boat rentals, beautiful beach areas, pickleball courts, Shorts Brewery, wineries, wonderful shopping and restaurants. This is our favorite city!! Bellaire - 22 minutes away - Short's Brewery, restaurants and shopping. Traverse City - 30 minutes away - beaches, restaurants, casinos, wine tasting, vineyards, breweries, golf courses, shopping. Within 15-30 minutes you'll have mountain biking trails (snowshoeing in winter), cherry orchards, farmers markets, Schuss Mountain skiing, multiple golf courses and more! Boyne Mountain, The Highlands, Crystal Mountain and Nubs Nob are all about an hour away. ORV trail heads are a couple blocks away and lead to miles of off-roading. Guest access Large cement driveway with parking space for multiple vehicles and boat trailers. The pole barn and garage are not available to guests. Access to the home is self check-in with keypad lock entry. Other things to note Our home is professionally cleaned between each guest. If your reservation is 10 days or longer, there will be a required mid-stay clean. This is also available upon request for any shorter length of stay for an additional fee. The fireplace in the living room is not for guest use. The bathtub jets in the full bath are not functional. The main part of the home does not have air conditioning. The master suite and addition does have A/C. The front bedroom upstairs has a window A/C unit. We get good breezes off the back of the property and the home stays comfortable with windows open and provided fans. We provide enough consumable products like toilet paper, paper towels and soap to accommodate your guest count. Once these amenities are exhausted, it is up to the guest to replenish. Rapid River Retreat close to Torch Lake

Boater's Paradise! Experience the lower chain of lakes from this adorable northern Michigan cottage. Fully equipped - just bring your toothbrush and beach towels! We are just a short walk from private, township access sites on the south shore of Torch Lake. The back yard provides a nice patio space, Weber charcoal grill and great fire pit for some s'more making in the evening. You are allowed to bring up to two of your pups, with a $25 pet fee per dog. The space We are approximately 2 miles from downtown Alden where you will find quaint shops, beautiful parks and great food and drink. Guest access You will have full private access to this cottage. Other things to note I allow up to two pets per visit. Your furry friend must be house trained, well behaved and not left alone in the cottage at any time unless crated. I charge a $25 pet fee, per pet, per visit. And of course, please make sure the yard is cleaned up upon your departure.

Upstairs plays host to the 2 bedrooms and only bathroom in the home, while the main floor is occupied by the kitchen and living room. An attached-garage is also where you will find water goodies and extra supplies. With patio furniture, hammock, and fire-pit, you will thoroughly enjoy your time on Torch River. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the fishing poles and chairs provided for the dock and fire pit. Additionally, we offer kayaks, a canoe and SUBs. Please note that the towing tube and ski ropes are not available for rental use. If the boathouse is locked, a key will be provided for access. We kindly ask guests to park behind the cabin or next to it for convenience. Pets on a case by case basis with an additional fee ❤️ Other things to note The bed in the bedroom is on the softer side and the futon folds down as a second bed. The couch also folds down into a 3rd bed. There are extra sheets, pillows and blankets in the dresser in the bedroom and closet. We are on a well so some people prefer to bring their own water. There is a Brita in the refrigerator. There is extra charcoal in the shed across from the door to the cabin. The wifi code is next to the tv cabinet is also on Airbnb. If you use the fire pit please make sure to put the fire out for the night before leaving it. Please keep fires manageable size. The little boat in the boathouse is NOT for use by renters. It is for private use only.

The space This adorable 1946 original Log Cabin has been thoughtfully updated while still leaving the structure intact. Relax and unwind in this one-bedroom (full size) bed, 1 bath with walk-in shower residence that includes a small living room and kitchen, as well as, a small patio and large backyard area. Comfortable for 2 people, with the option of a fold-out twin cot suitable for a small child, teen, or very small adult. This property sits on a large lot and has direct river access to Rapid River via short trail. Rapid River is amongst the chain of rivers in the area that directly connects to Torch River and Torch Lake. Torch River is a short paddle from the property. Torch Lake boat launch and Torch Lake Sandbar within minutes of property. This cabin can be added onto the main property house - contact host for more details. Guest access Log cabin is a private residence for you to enjoy, with it's own backyard area, private patio, and a direct access path to the property River Front. Shared spaces on property include Basketball Court, Driveway and Parking, and the actual Riverfront of property. These specific areas are shared with other potential guests if the other house on property is booked at the same time. Other things to note We provide an initial supply of toilet paper, paper towels, and bath/kitchen towels. Once these items have been used or if additional supply is needed, that will be the guest's responsibility. We do not replenish during stays. Shower essentials like shampoo, conditioner, soap are not provided. 1 of the beds is a fold-away twin cot and is good for a small child or very small adult. 2 Kayaks are provided for your enjoyment and use during your stay. River front is too shallow for motorized boats. Torch Lake Boat launch and Torch River boat launch are within 5-10 minute drive to property. There is room for parking a truck with boat trailered, just notify us if you plan to do this so we can ensure parking is available with other rental.
