The downtown area with shops and restaurants are great and so many of them give you a view of the water where you can watch the boats go in and out of the river as they head toward the Lake. This is one of my favorite activities...watching the boats from the grassy shore of from a restaurant. Walk down to the beach in a couple of minutes and put your toes in the sand. Or you can walk out on the pier to see the Lighthouse and watch the waves come and boats come in. Nightlife is abundant with several breweries and different types of entertainment. Go to BRT and play a game of Singo (bingo and singing combined...what a hoot) or hit the Michigan theater where 2 people can do a movie, drinks and a popcorn for $20 (when was the last time you saw that!). You can go spend the day at Lake Arvesta Water and sports complex where you can swim, board, play pickle ball, miniature golf...or find some other fun things to do...and the food is good too (especially the pizza!) FOOD & RESTAURANTS -Grocery stores. You only have 3 choices here, but they are good ones. We have a Meijer and a Walmart that will have anything you need...all within a quarter mile of each other. There is also an Aldis that is in the same quarter mile. Food, Drink, etc...it is all there. -Restaurants. We have several nice sit down establishments and the every day fast food. Italian- -Tellos Italian Bistro- A little more upscale, good food -Maria's taste of Italy- Everyday good Italian food -*Venesia- Pizza with a thin cracker crust. My Favorite! Mexican- -Su Casa- Downtown with good drinks -*El Paraiso- Small family own, very authentic -Los Ranchos- Classic Mexican restaurant Breakfast/lunch -*Six Chicks- Good everyday fare. One of my go tos. -*Phoenix Street on Broadway- another good go to. Great pancakes! -Cafe Julia- Coffee, Drinks and pastries -Dave's Landing- Standard breakfast/lunch fare American- -Clementine's- Downtown and a favorite of many for years. Known for their onion rings! -*The Lodge- Great food with a little bit of southern fusion. Probably #1 on my list. Great people/service -Black River Tavern- Bands, bar, and burgers...and a lot more. Fun local place. -Kitchen 527- A good place to go if you like meat. A little more on the pricey side. Good food. -Taste- A tapas restaurant with good food. Known for their Martinis. A little more pricey, but worth it. -Three Blondes Brewing- Great food and beer. My go to for beer is the Boom Boom Betty. -South Haven Brewpub- Good food, Good beer. -*Admiral Jacks- Food and drink on the river. Great fun place to hang out on a nice day. place. No inside seating. -Captain Lou's-Decent food, more about drinking. Again, right on the river. -Idler Riverboat- another Riverside offering for food and drinks. -Fire Water Bar and Grill at Lake Arvesta- Good food (I like the pizza!) with lots to do. Fast food- -McDonalds -Burger King -Culvers -Arbys -Mancino's- Sandwich and pizza place -Little Caesars -Pizza Hut -Wendy's -The Depot (carry out sandwiches) -The 50's Diner- Drive-in food spot -Subs and More- Downtown -Subway There are a few more restaurants around, but these are ones that I feel comfortable with telling you about. Americana is located at 630 Erie St. in South Haven. This is a large historic home with 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths sitting on a generous lot with a nice backyard that includes a fire pit area and a patio dining area. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly with some of South Haven's most historic homes. A short walk to downtown shopping and dining and a five minute drive or a fifteen minute walk to the nearest beaches. Dogs are welcome! The space Americana welcomes you onto a shaded front porch with outdoor seating before you enter into a large foyer area with a bench and plenty of room to store your gear. A concrete parking area offers space for 4 vehicles A modern kitchen includes a dishwasher, range, microwave, and large fridge with ice and water dispensers. There is also a roomy pantry close by for storing groceries and supplies. The kitchen at Americana is completely stocked for family meals with all the cookware, serving ware, and utensils needed. Just off the kitchen is a large dining room with a custom built table and benches to fit all 12 of you. There is also a large buffet and a peninsula from the kitchen to make serving a breeze. Relaxation space in this home is plentiful with 2 living areas; one is up front with large windows facing the street and comfy seating for at least 7, the other is close by and has a flat screen TV and seating for at least 7 as well. Rounding out the main level, is a large bedroom with a queen bed, quality bedding, double nightstands, a closet, a ceiling fan, and plenty of natural light. Attached is a full bathroom with a tub and shower that also serves as the main bathroom on this main level. Perfect for the family members who don't want to contend with climbing stairs. Back to the foyer, and you climb the beautiful hardwood staircase to the upper level. At the top of the stairs is a bedroom featuring a queen bed as well as an alcove with a twin trundle bed and plenty of windows. The kids bedroom has 4 comfy twin beds and a third bedroom upstairs has a queen bed and an ensuite bath with shower. The Harbor Club South Haven Resort offers private streets for walking or biking with pets, children, or the group you are traveling with. A quaint pond and bridge offer a peaceful place to stroll and watch the local wildlife. The Resort is located on preserved wetlands and woodlands on the Black River and includes a gorgeous private marina. City bus routes and taxis will come into the resort and directly up to the cottage to pick up and drop off guests. Winery tour buses run through the area and several highway entry and exits are within one mile for easy travel. Check in at 4pm Est. Lake/Beach across the Park, Black River just 5 minutes away...and downtown, well it is just across the river. You can't beat it! We are no longer allowing pets. Unfortunately some guest did not observe the pet rules. THE AREA- South Haven is unlike a lot of the other Towns/Cities on Lake Michigan. It is actually ON Lake Michigan. The downtown area with shops and restaurants are great and so many of them give you a view of the water where you can watch the boats go in and out of the river as they head toward the Lake. This is one of my favorite activities...watching the boats from the grassy shore of from a restaurant. Walk down to the beach in a couple of minutes and put your toes in the sand. Or you can walk out on the pier to see the Lighthouse and watch the waves come and boats come in. Nightlife is abundant with several breweries and different types of entertainment. Go to BRT and play a game of Singo (bingo and singing combined...what a hoot) or hit the Michigan theater where 2 people can do a movie, drinks and a popcorn for $20 (when was the last time you saw that!). You can go spend the day at Lake Arvesta Water and sports complex where you can swim, board, play pickle ball, miniature golf...or find some other fun things to do...and the food is good too (especially the pizza!) FOOD & RESTAURANTS -Grocery stores. You only have 3 choices here, but they are good ones. We have a Meijer and a Walmart that will have anything you need...all within a quarter mile of each other. There is also an Aldis that is in the same quarter mile. Food, Drink, etc...it is all there. -Restaurants. We have several nice sit down establishments and the every day fast food. Italian- -Tellos Italian Bistro- A little more upscale, good food -Maria's taste of Italy- Everyday good Italian food -*Venesia- Pizza with a thin cracker crust. My Favorite! Mexican- -Su Casa- Downtown with good drinks -*El Paraiso- Small family own, very authentic -Los Ranchos- Classic Mexican restaurant Breakfast/lunch -*Six Chicks- Good everyday fare. One of my go tos. -*Phoenix Street on Broadway- another good go to. A little more pricey, but worth it. -Three Blondes Brewing- Great food and beer. My go to for beer is the Boom Boom Betty. -South Haven Brewpub- Good food, Good beer. -*Admiral Jacks- Food and drink on the river. Great fun place to hang out on a nice day. -Captain Lou's-Decent food, more about drinking. Again, right on the river. -Idler Riverboat- another Riverside offering for food and drinks. -Fire Water Bar and Grill at Lake Arvesta- Good food (I like the pizza!) with lots to do. There are portions of the backyard available to either house Other things to note In South Haven there are only a limited number of houses on the beach that are available to rent. Most of these require walking down a long flight of stairs, and some don't have beach access due to the weather and erosion. Our property is a one minute walk to the beach with no steps. It is a public beach that is well taken care of by the city. Take the family, the chairs, the toys and have an awesome day. And if you need to go back to the house and relax for a while, well....it is a VERY short walk!

Sat. to Sat., 7-night stays from mid-June to mid-August. 2 nights min. outside of these dates. 4 bedrooms (8 beds= 3 Q, 2 F, 3 T), 2 full baths, and sleeps 12. Older home with many continual improvements, including room for four cars in the driveway, washer/dryer, 70" TV in the living room, gourmet kitchen, and 2 elec fireplaces. This home is perfect for meeting with family and friends. 5 min. walk to Oak St. Beach on Lake Michigan. The space Don't let the small-looking front of the house fool you. It is a lot bigger than it looks from the road, especially with the high ceilings. Our comfortable home features a gourmet kitchen with a double oven, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen seats 14 people. Our living room has two couches, a love seat, and a Lazy Boy chair, sitting nine adults comfortably. The outdoor area seats 12+ people. With four bedrooms and two full baths, your family has plenty of space. Due to allergy issues, we do not allow pets or smoking. Guest access The whole house will be available to guests. We do not stay at the home while it is rented. Mid-June to mid-August, check-in and out is only on Saturdays. The last two weeks of August have a minimum stay of four nights.
