We welcome you to our little piece of paradise! Enjoy a relaxing stay with your family or friends in a quiet location right off the bay. It's a great launching pad to explore the area and is about 35 minutes from Bar Harbor and 40 minutes from Acadia National Park. Or you can just enjoy the property by kayaking, canoeing, sitting by the fire pit, or enjoying the view from the porch. The space Turning off of Route 1, a half-mile gravel road leads you to this spacious cabin with four bedrooms and two and half bathrooms on a quiet wooded 1.5 acre piece of property right on the bay. It has a fully equipped kitchen for meals along with a dining room, living room, and plenty of deck space to lounge. There is also a fire pit with Adirondack chairs and a view of the bay to relax around. The basement is unfinished but has a washer and dryer that is open for guest use. A short path leads to stairs that goes down to the shoreline where guests can swim, fish, kayak, or canoe. There are several kayaks and canoes that are available for guests for free along with life preservers and paddles. Guest access Aside from private storage space in the basement and the smaller cabin closer to the shore (currently unused), the entire property is available for guest use.

Each bedroom offers a different experience and are themed as the Voyager, Forager, Wanderer and Adventurer. The kitchen is well appointed and perfect for making meals for your group. PETS: MAX limit is two pets. Must be under 80lbs. There is a $100 pet deposit fee if your furry friend plans on traveling with you and this will be sent as a separate request after booking. Pets are not allowed to sleep or lay on furniture or beds. Pets should not be left unattended at the home. Please ensure they are treated with flea and tick treatment before coming to Maine. Ticks can be problematic for pets here in Maine. We have a pet policy agreement that must be reviewed after booking. Guest access There is a lockbox with the house key inside. This luxury lakehouse is perfectly situated at the top of Acadia National Park, between Mount Desert Island and Schoodic Peninsula to explore all of Downeast Maine. The home is immaculate luxury. Facing West for perfect sunsets. Dock on the lake, kayaks, fire pit, reclaimed wood design, multiple game tables and gourmet kitchen. 4,500 sq ft of luxury on the water in Vacationland. What more could you ask for in family vacation home? The space The lakehouse is situated on 3 levels. The upstairs level has a master bedroom overlooking the main floor, a full bath, laundry, walk-in closet and office with exercise equipment. The main level features vaulted ceilings with a central, 2-sided fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, dining room, great room, a massive covered deck with both a screened and unscreened section, a bedroom and full bathroom. The lower level is a walk-out with 2 bedrooms, a game room, laundry and bathroom. The back yard gently slopes to the lake where a private fire pit, small stone beach and boat dock await. Take the kayaks out for a morning paddle and enjoy the best of Maine. The property has 2 kayaks for your use between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Always wear life jackets when using. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Host is not liable for any incident regarding kayak or dock. We also have a ping pong table, air hockey table, foosball table, board games, books, fishing rods, tennis rackets and a set of golf clubs for you to use. There is an additional rental package you can add on after booking that includes a 6'x18' matter mat, 6 person floating island and 2 standup paddle boards. Guest access The home has parking for 4 cars in the driveway. There is also a large additional parking area across the street, to the right (where our green dumpster is located) for parking any boat or skidoo trailers you wish to bring. An Electric Vehicle Charger (Level 2, 40 AMP, J1772 standard) is available for a $100/stay/week surcharge. If you need the charger for your stay, message the host at least 24 hours before check-in to have the EV charger turned on for your stay. Other things to note Min age of primary renter is 25+. No parties allowed. If you want to rent a power boat, stand up paddleboards, canoes or additional kayaks, Downeast Boat Rentals can deliver these to the property for your use. They are in very high demand. If you plan to rent we suggest making your reservations ASAP. There is a public launch area at the southern end of the lake. Please keep all children under close eye when around the water. Internet is via high speed Starlink satellite internet. This is close to broadband quality and allows for video streaming, VOIP phone calls, etc. We are just 10 minutes to the Sunrise trail and great hiking on Schoodic mountain. We have a property manager that lives next door. He may stop in during the stay to check in and make sure that your stay is going smoothly.

Other things to note Like most Maine homes, this property is on a septic system and well water. Mainestay Cottage - 4 Season Waterfront Retreat

Welcome to Pine and Cove House, a charming 4BR, 2BA getaway in Hancock! This spacious retreat is perfect for an extended family or group of friends looking for a together but separate experience. The newly updated home with unique dual-living setup is split into 2BR/1BA units with separate entrances, kitchen/living/dining rooms, and an interior connection. Enjoy the peaceful one-acre lot with private above ground pool, hot tub, screen porch, two decks, firepit, cornhole, games and BBQ grill. The space In the first unit, there is an entry hall with a closet, desk, and board games. The kitchen/dining area has a coffee station with a Keurig coffee maker and a regular coffee maker for your coffee of choice. The dining table seats 8 for group meals. The kitchen is stocked with most everything you will need for your cooking needs, including a blender. There are also great restaurants nearby, like Ironbound or Chipper's, or you can get your classic lobster rolls down the street at Yu's Takeout - with even more dining options down the road in Ellsworth.  The unit living room has a Smart TV with Spectrum basic cable, and your favorite streaming apps for sign in.  There are two bedrooms in this unit, each with king beds. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a separate tub with whirlpool jets. There is a stackable washer and dryer off of the kitchen/dining area   There is also a desk and monitor for work from home access off of the main bedroom.  The second unit has a living/dining space downstairs with a Smart TV. This unit has a smaller kitchen with a coffee maker, refrigerator, stove, and microwave, and a good amount of cooking supplies, including a smoothie maker and waffle iron.  Upstairs in the second unit, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom with a combined whirlpool tub/shower. The first bedroom has two queen beds, and the second bedroom is set up as a kid's room, with two single beds and a toddler bed.  In the second floor hallway, there is a desk available as a second workspace. The hallway also has a combined washer/dryer.  Guests should enjoy the outdoor space of the property. The Maine cornhole set, above ground pool, hot tub, BBQ, and giant Jenga are set up for your enjoyment. There is also a container of kids games next to the shed for children's play.  Please observe the posted pool rules and never leave children unattended in the pool area.  The roads around the property are great for walking and exploring. We enjoyed walking with our dog down to Jellison Cove, a public cove about 15 minutes walking distance down the street. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire property with the exception of the garage, attic or shed. Other things to note The house was originally built in the 1880s and later expanded and modernized in recent years.   The stairs to the second floor are steep, as was typical of 19th century farmhouses. Be careful on the way up to the upstairs.   The second floor bedrooms and bathroom have sloped ceilings so taller guests should take care.   The pool is open seasonally from July until the end of August. Please note that exact dates may vary based on temperatures.   Air Conditioning is through the three window units downstairs, and the upstairs bedrooms have portable air conditioners for your use.   There are two separate thermostats in the house, these will only provide heat. The one in the larger kitchen is for the downstairs unit. The one in the second bedroom is for the living/dining area downstairs. There are no heat vents in the upstairs bedrooms, but the house has extra blankets for the cooler Maine summer nights.   Note that the garage, basement, attic and outdoor shed spaces are off limits to guests.

His grandchildren may be around during the summer for sailing lessons and seasonal activities on the water.  Fox Beach House is aptly named—foxes are often seen in the area, and this year a nearby den welcomed five kits. The den is located to the west, and it’s not uncommon to spot foxes moving along the beach, adding to the natural charm of the property. Guest access Guests will have private and exclusive access to the entire main house, which includes all four bedrooms, the kitchen, living areas, family room, library, and laundry room. You will also have full use of the outdoor spaces, including the furnished rock patio, the lawn, and the private rocky beach. There is a locked apartment on the lower level that will not be rented when guests are on site.   There is a second oceanfront lot, accessed by a small bridge to the right of home. This bonus lot is available for guest use but it is shared with a neighbor. We do ask that guests accommodate the neighbor's use of that second lot. The Loft (no bedroom door) One queen bed with a memory foam mattress, a free-standing closet, and nightstand lights and an overhead fan-light combination. Bathroom Well lit, modern bathroom with two vanities and two mirrors. A hairdryer, plenty of hooks, storage, and shelf space throughout, in addition to a full shower/tub with high-pressure handheld shower head and wall mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We also provide round cotton pads, Q-tips, and body lotion. We have a Graco Pack 'n Play Portable Playard and a Graco High Chair (padded, with straps, and a tray) at the property for use if traveling with young kids. Guest access Guests have full access to the house except one locked closet in the downstairs hallway. Additionally, guests are asked to limit their use of the basement to the washer and dryer and to access kayak and SUP paddles and life jackets. The detached garage is off limits. Other things to note We have two video recording cameras on the outside of the property; one that overlooks the driveway and garage and one video recording camera on the front door. We require the guest who books to e-sign a rental contract and upload a photocopy of their driver’s license. The house has a mini split air conditioning unit in the dining area and an AC window unit in the living room. Each room is equipped with either a portable tower fan or ceiling mounted fan to cool the space. There is a full washer and dryer located in the basement for guest use. If you plan on fishing, make sure you stop at Walmart in Ellsworth to purchase a fishing license. We are happy to welcome well-behaved dogs but no cats. The house does not have AC. We provide portable fans, and you are welcome to open the windows. There are screens. Maine does not get super hot in the summertime, and at night, it cools down. We provide a crib, high chair, baby gates, children’s dinnerware, children toys, and room darkening shades. Please note that there are various sets of stairs in the home. We provide extra baby gates for the stairs connecting the living room to the kitchen if needed. This is a pet-friendly home. However, the yard is not fenced. Pets must be kept on leash. We provide dog waste bags, bowls, and a crate. Please note that no pets are allowed on the furniture. In addition, guests are responsible for picking up after their pets. There is a fee for not picking up pet droppings in the yard. Lastly, pets are not allowed to be loose in the house when left alone. Please keep your pet in a crate. Cleaning fee applies. Our property is all about embracing the great outdoors with simple, comfortable accomodations that bring you closer to nature! Kayaks and a canoe are provided, to fish, kayak, explore! Sit in our screened in porch, watch the sunset from our lawn, and enjoy the firepit under the Maine starry skys with s'mores for the family. Our cozy cabin provides the perfect retreat after a day of adventure. This one floor living provides 3 bedrooms and one full bathroom. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off from the day on the lake! Bedrooms: 2 bedrooms with full beds and storage, one bedroom with 2 twin bunkbeds and storage. Bathroom: 1 large bathroom with a walk in shower and plenty of storage, towels, and supplies. Kitchen and living room: Our kitchen has spices and tons of cooking pots/pans/lobster cookers. You will not need much, to cook at home. The living room has a fireplace to heat up the cabin on cooler nights. There is plenty of seating, and games for the nights together! There are bikes, table tennis, and cornhole. The kayaks and canoe have life preservers. The family really thought of everything to make your Maine memories. No pets or animals please. * This is a summer camp, not winterized. The wood stove provides great heat for the colder nights, but you will have to know how to build a fire. There are also detailed instructions in the guest book. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are approximately 20 miles away. Schoodic Point, and downeast Maine are approximately 15 miles. Ellsworth is just 8 miles away with shopping, restaurants, Shaws grocery store, LL Bean Outlet, Renys and more. Jcr Taunton Bay Hideaway

We truly want Everyone to feel welcome here! Bar Harbor is a scenic 45 minute drive away. There is great hiking/xc skiing in our huge back yard (Sunrise trail/Maine reserve land) Rustic farm apartment with full kitchen. Farm veg can be bought in season, sometimes eggs& our own wine, jam, hot sauce, maple syrup. Just ask! Can accommodate 6 folks, one in a cupola! Hot shower & heat. There is a sawdust compost toilet-Easy to use & no smell! We recognize we are on unceded Wabanaki land. 🙏🏼 The space 18'x36' second-story apartment, 40' deck overlooking Schoodic Mountain and Hollow, and 8'x8' third-story cupola with skylights. There are full and twin beds in one room, and a queen bed in the main space. The cupola is set up for relaxing or meditating, and also has a twin bed. We have a Monitor heater in the space to keep it cozy. Located in a timber-framed and earth-plastered structure, owner-built in 2005. Sleeps up to 6 guests, though the sixth should be adventurous as the bed is up in the cupola! Schoodic Hollow Farm vegetables, (in season!) eggs and organic homemade wine, jam, maple syrup and hot sauce can be purchased directly. Fully-outfitted kitchen, new gas stove and grill. There are two composting toilets, please note! (One outside for extra privacy. (Outhouse;)) They are very clean, sawdust based and no smell. There is a shower in the back bedroom. The composting toilet is off of the main room. WiFi is high speed and reliable! Guest access We do like to help people get to know the space when you get here, but we go to bed pretty early, so if you will arrive late, it is very easy to self check-in, we leave it open with lots of directions, so it is ok to get in late... please read all info and print directions off so that you don't get stranded at our neighbors house, please!(Although we have a sign right there that tells you to keep going;)) We are All The way (really) at the end of a half mile road, past two other houses on the hill. *Sometimes gps will tell you you are here when you get to 27, but keep going!* In winter, awd or 4wd is recommended. The rental is equipped with a full kitchen with hot water sink, new fridge and propane range/oven, gas grill, microwave, and all cookware and eating ware. There are two composting toilets (one an outhouse down in front of the loft) and a shower in the space. Laundry facilities can be used on longer stays. There is a canoe available for use on a nearby pristine remote pond, and we have sources for local kayak rentals. Other things to note The internet has full signal, and is connected to starlink, so we have great service! The space is in a former gallery, and some art pieces (sculpture and print) are still within, not for sale. There is a fire pit that can be used for small fires, but we do have energetic biting insect populations in certain seasons. The Maine state bug, the black fly, is in full force usually from end of May through July. As long as you are moving about, they shouldn't 'bug' you too much... Please be aware that this space is located on the second level, and climbing stairs is necessary to access the rental. There is a shop downstairs but we limit loud noises. Our farm poultry wake up pretty early, and sometimes our farm dogs will bark at predators in the night. The Sunrise trail is amazing for biking and walking, and can get you to a lot of incredible trails also.

While the cottage does not have air conditioning, its shaded setting, coastal breezes, and fans throughout the home help keep the space comfortable during warmer months — much like a traditional Maine summer cottage was meant to feel. In cooler seasons, the wood stove becomes a natural gathering place after days spent exploring the coast. A Note About Nature Cornerstone Cottage is surrounded by Maine’s coastal landscape, where wildlife sightings may include deer, seals, bald eagles, and other native wildlife. As with any waterfront setting, occasional insects are part of the natural environment. The home is professionally treated and carefully maintained to ensure a comfortable stay. Summer Booking details: June-August: weekly rentals (Friday-Friday) Guest access Guests will have access to the entire property. Guests will also have private shore access directly from the property. A code for the digital lock will be provided to each guest prior to check in. Other things to note Rental Agreement: 1. Guest shall be entitled to possession of the Premises on the 1st day of the Rental Term. At the conclusion of the reservation, Guest shall peaceably surrender the Premises to the Landlord in good condition, as it was at the commencement of the Agreement, excluding reasonable wear and tear. In the event that Guest had not surrendered the property by the identified check out time, Landlord may charge guest up to $120 per hour (unless late check out has been previously agreed with Landlord). 2. For the purposes of this Agreement, Guest shall not only include the primary renter identified within the rental agreement, but also all other guests and invitees of Guest using, occupying, or visiting the Property during the Rental Term. Each person occupying or visiting the Premises shall be jointly and severally liable under this Agreement. 3. Guest agrees to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law to indemnify and hold harmless Landlord from and against all injuries to person and damages to Guest’s property sustained in or about the Premises arising from or are in connection with Guest’s possession, use or occupation of the Premises. Guest further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Landlord from and against all expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees and expenses incurred in connection with any and all claims, suits, demands, actions, or judgments for said injuries or damages. 4. Guest acknowledges that the property contains Bunk Beds, has uneven floors due to the age of the house, a tree swing and exterior stairs that do not have handrails and use of them is at the sole risk of Guest. 5. If there is evidence that pets have been present or smoking has occurred on the property there will be a $1000 fine. Guests are subject to immediate removal and will forfeit the remainder of the reservation.

Please check on local rules and regulations for foraging - clams are very regulated and heavily fined. Green crabs are an invasive species that limit clam populations and you would be of assistance getting rid of those. For fishing, there is a local bait shop near by with great recommendations for both fresh and saltwater fish but you can easily do so off the dock in Winter Harbor.
