The space The City Slickers Farmhouse is a colorful, cozy two-bedroom getaway home with whimsical details designed to make you smile, and luxurious accessories to make you feel pampered. “Buddy” wall hooks welcome you at the kitchen door to take your hat and coat, and then to make you laugh throughout the house! The farmhouse kitchen has been modernized but not taken to the future! There are an assortment of dishes and good-quality cookware (much of it Cuisinart) so you can enjoy preparing a meal. Plus, outside there is a new gas grill (old grill is pictured), a new picnic table and chairs (old picnic table is also pictured), and a rebuilt bench. In the living room you’ll find an L-shaped sofa which is both wide and long enough for an adult to sleep. The coffee table opens to form a desk and also to reveal storage for games and puzzles. The large first-floor bathroom with “standing stones” is industrial chic with a gentle rain shower. On the second floor, the spacious primary bedroom has a new Sealy king-size mattress and two comfortable lounge chairs—perfect for reading or relaxing! There is an antique drafting board if you’re inclined to draw! The minimalistic second bedroom has a firm queen-size mattress and a view of the rocks behind the house. Bang and Olufsen turntable platters and components adorn the walls and take you on a virtual trip to Denmark…or the MoMA!!! Also with a view of the rocks, the upstairs TV room has a new firm sofa where a petite/ slim person (or a child!) could sleep. It has an abundance of pillows, poufs, and cozy throws for relaxing in front of the tube! The upstairs “spa” bathroom has an original claw-foot tub suitable for soaking—no shower. Please note this quirky, charming room has a short door and low ceiling! When you go outside it sounds like rain as you hear the waterfall from across the street. And it’s only about ten minutes from Woodstock! The Village of Saugerties has unique shops for your enjoyment. Hunter Mountain and Catskill are close by as well. Also on the plus side, the road, which was just repaved in mid-August 2023, is plowed in the winter! You can easily fit two cars in the driveway; possibly more if they’re small and you’re careful! New mini-splits provide AC and supplemental heat to the radiated floors Wifi has download speeds greater than 300 Mbps. The owner has worked from here for 4 months without issues. There is not a dedicated space for working, but there are ample spots to choose from. There is a washer and dryer available for your use. Artwork and accessories may change :) Guest access The driveway entrance is marked by green lights on either side; it is on a sometimes busy county road. Ten minutes off the New York Thruway, at the edge of Catskill State Park, there is something for everyone. We are in a beautiful wooded setting with mountain views, right between Woodstock and Saugerties, the most charming towns in the Catskills. There are stunning waterfalls with swimming holes right on the property! Start your day on your private deck on the stream or screened porch, and listen to the water rushing over the falls. It’s like the Calm App, but real!! If you love mountain biking or road biking, there are hundreds of miles of quiet scenic roads to explore right out the front door. We are minutes from the most beautiful hiking trails in the Northeast, many with breathtaking views, such as Huckleberry Point and the Escarpment Trail. If you like to cook, within a 10 minute drive, there are farmers' markets and local butchers, as well as a supermarket. If you prefer dining out, there are many fantastic restaurants. Experience the serene good vibes of this Hudson Valley retreat! A spacious getaway for a couple, or a cozy escape for friends and family. Build a fire in the wood stove, watch a movie on the projector, dance under the disco light, fall asleep to the sound of trees rustling, listen to birds chirp in the secluded yard. 10 minutes from Saugerties, 10 minutes from HITS Saugerties, 15 minutes from Woodstock, 20 minutes from Hunter Mountain. The space This is a contemporary farmhouse, built in the nineties, where you'll have privacy as well as proximity to anything you need. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed, on the first floor, as well as two bathrooms; there are also two large couches that can accommodate sleepers on the first floor, too. (Upstairs there's a loft area with a small enclosed room and two additional queen-size beds; because the spiral staircase that leads to the second floor doesn't meet our town's building code and short-term rental permit requirements, we don't list this as sleeping space, but you can refer to the listing photos for more info if you're interested!) Pets are very welcome, and so are children: we have kids' toys and books stashed away everywhere for your use. There are multiple good workspaces in the house, including a big kitchen table, a desk in the master bedroom, and another desk in the tiny loft room. There are puzzles and games upstairs, as well as a record player downstairs. No TV, but we have a projector in the living room that you can hook up to your laptop. There’s a well-stocked kitchen with a very full array of pots, pans, equipment, baking dishes, spices, olive oil, etc, and you’re very welcome to make use of any food or cooking/baking supplies (pasta, Popsicles, snacks, crackers, anything) that you find in the cabinets and freezer. We provide towels, linens, plenty of spare blankets. If you're coming up with a baby, we have a Pack'n'Play, a high chair, and a ton of baby toys. If you're coming up from NYC for the weekend and don't have laundry in your apartment (we feel you), bring it on up to do here! Guest access You'll have the place to yourself! Other things to note The house has a new mini-split AC system, where each room has its own controls, and in winter there's gas heat as well as a wood stove and lots of firewood. There's a Weber gas grill on the back deck. Also, just a note that this place is not a full-time rental, it's a home we love to spend time in and bring our loved ones to; we've lived here for months at a time. You might see in some of the reviews that our house feels warm and lived-in, like a friend's place: if you're looking for that vibe, it'll be wonderful. (The beds are great, the WiFi is fast enough for multiple people to do remote work, and everything is meant for long-term personal use!) If you're in search of a more anonymous, ultra-pristine, hotel-esque feeling, our house will likely not be the best fit for your desires.

A stylish loft inside a historic Odd Fellows Lodge that once served as the West Saugerties Town Hall. This unique space features vaulted ceilings, multiple skylights, 2 bedrooms, and a lofted sleeping area, and can sleep 2-6 guests. New appliances, a clawfoot tub, and a private back porch with a BBQ. Located at the base of scenic Platte Clove Road, known for waterfalls and mountain hikes. 10 minutes from Woodstock or Saugerties. A charming general store/ cafe is just a short walk away. The space The main space features a brand-new kitchen with modern appliances and a cozy sitting area with a 40" Roku Smart TV. There’s a loft space for extra guests, plus two private bedrooms—comfortably sleeping up to six people (two per bed). The space is best suited for small groups, as parking is limited to three cars and it's not ideal for parties or larger gatherings. Guest access The Artist Loft is on the second floor of the building, accessible from the deck stairs. We occupy the downstairs unit. We may never cross paths, as we have a separate entrance in the front, but we can be on call if there are any issues.

Set the mood inside with color-changing Bluetooth lights that cast a magical glow across the round space. Luxury amenities include heated floors, cotton linens, and a jetted tub, crafted with care for deep rest and connection. Built by me, Zach, with help from the local community, this space is more than a stay, it’s a home among the trees, a creative retreat. Guest access You’ll have access to the entire round house (except the crawl space/utility room) and the 53 private acres with trails. The aerial silks (circus arts apparatus) are locked and off limits for safety. The home includes two queen beds (one in each bedroom) and an optional air mattress in the loft to accommodate a 5th and 6th guest. The Round House is a private structure surrounded by 53 acres of forest. The land is occasionally shared with myself or the property manager, who lives in a barn about 150 feet away. You may see this structure in the exterior photos. There’s also a gold leaf print by an artist who creates abstract floral erotica in the guest bathroom. If you’re visiting with someone who you’d prefer not see imagery of this kind, just let me know before arrival and I’ll happily remove it for your stay.

The front porch and master bedroom have beautiful views of the mountains, while the back offers the quiet serenity of the woods. A lovely creek runs along the road and a there is a trail through the woods at the end of the road. The house has beautiful Indonesian rosewood floors throughout. We are certain you will find your time in our home to be the perfect getaway. Guest access You can spend your time on the property, grilling on the sizable back deck, cooking in the large gourmet kitchen, or simply taking a nap. Relax by the fire pit, sip morning coffee on the deck, read a book in the loft, or take a walk in the woods. The space The Property: As you come up the long driveway you'll know you have arrived. The Chalet is a classic A-frame house, with high ceilings, big windows and tons of natural wood finishes. The house sits on more than an acre of land, with ample parking, a yard surrounding the house, and adjacent wooded areas. Access the front door up a flight of stairs or use the separate ground-level entrance. There is a large covered porch and our wrap-around deck is ideal for star-gazing or taking in the natural surroundings. Main Floor: The main floor includes a master bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and dining area. The master bedroom has wall-to-wall closets, a queen sized bed, and a large window with beautiful sunrises. The bathroom has a shower/bathtub and a large vanity. Towels, toilet paper and soaps are provided. The fully modernized kitchen has stainless steel appliances and all that you need to prepare meals (pots, pans, utensils, dishes, blender, Dutch over, cast iron skillet and more). For coffee lovers, choose from an auto-drip coffee maker, French press, or pour over, and we have both electric and hand-crank grinders. Bring your own beans or sample ours. For wine enthusiasts, there is a wine fridge and rack. The kitchen also features a long counter with stool seating. The living room has floor to ceiling windows with seasonal mountain views in winter and beautiful woods in summer. Unwind on the leather sofa or in our large wingback chair. The large wood dining table can seat up to 10 comfortably with extensions. We have a TV with streaming channels (HBO, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and more). You can access the deck from the living room via a sliding glass door. Upper Floor: Upstairs you’ll find a spacious loft with a sofa, side table, and a balcony that overlooks the living room and has great views of the property. It's perfect for reading, yoga, taking a nap, or just looking up through the skylights at the trees. Upstairs is also a bedroom and full bathroom with a shower and vanity. The bedroom has a queen size bed, ceiling fan, and windows with views of the yard and trees. Lower Floor: The lower floor is a fully finished basement with natural wood paneling throughout, a bedroom, full bathroom, and sitting area. The bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser, and bench. The recently renovated bathroom includes a large soaking tub and glass bowl sink. The lower floor also has its own entrance, providing easy access to the driveway, fire pit, and the rest of the property. Please note that the basement tends to be 5 degrees cooler than the rest of the house. There is a separate heater in the bedroom that can be used to provide additional warmth in winter. Additional amenities: Fire pit is available for your use. For families with small children, we have everything you need, including a Pack-n-Play, high chair, toddler bed, toys, and child gates for the stairs. Location: The Chalet is in West Saugerties, equidistant from Woodstock (10 minutes) and the Town of Saugerties (10 minutes). Kaaterskill falls is 20 minutes away. Hunter Mountain is 30 minutes. Hudson is 30 minutes to the north and New Paltz is 30 minutes to the south. The house is approximately 1 hour, 40 minutes from the George Washington Bridge in normal traffic. The nearest train station (Rhinecliff) is 25 minutes away. Entry/Exit and Security: We have a coded keypad for easy self check-in, check-out. If you prefer to use a key, one can be provided upon arrival. The house has an alarm system that can be activated by request. There are two outdoor security cameras that provide broad views of the property but they will not be in operation during your stay. A house manager lives nearby and will be available in case of any issues or questions.

We are 30 minutes to Hunter Mountain for skiing in the winter, and hiking trails, lakes, swimming holes and waterfalls are close by for the warmer months. The spacious backyard is private and fully fenced in. There is a wooded area in the back that is a perfect place to spot chipmunks, deer or an owl. Guest access Make yourself at home! Bed bumpers for kids, if needed. Mattresses are Room and Board (master) and Leesa (other bedrooms). Open floorplan on the main floor has plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Dedicated game/play, fireplace, and TV areas. The heart of the house is the kitchen/dining area that looks out at the Hudson Valley, complete with a farm table that can seat 8 people. We encourage guests to make themselves at home and cook with all the amazing food the Hudson Valley has to offer! We can connect you with a private chef, if desired. New stainless steel appliances including a grill and all of the cookware, glassware, and dishes you'll need are provided. There are great farm stands, meat markets, and wine stores in the area. Outside, you can enjoy the epic views all the way across the valley to the Berkshires from the 1,200 sq ft deck, large yard with fire pit, and a new pool for summer 2024! Trailheads to hike up to the top of Plattekill Mountain or to an amazing waterfall are just a couple hundred yards out the front door. The house is near the end of a private road with little car traffic. This stylish, 3-bed, 2-bath home has a plethora of amenities that will keep the kids occupied for hours any time of the year, including a large kids play area in the lower level of the house and a large back yard w newly built FIREPIT area. Close to ski & a back field to build snowmen & sled in winter. In summer, a seasonal heated pool, waterslide & child safety fence, tree house, beach volleyball crt, swing set. Saugerties 10 mins. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. The space The side entrance leads into a large eat-in kitchen with a picture window overlooking the yard & the pool area. The vaulted living room with its floor to ceiling working grand brick fireplace features a spiral staircase that leads to 200 sq ft of office space set up with 2 desks with laptop stands and monitors and an additional queen bed for guests. The 3 bedrooms are located off a central hallway away from the living space. A hall bath is shared by a queen room, that includes a small desk, and kids room. The kids room is set up with a twin bed with trundle as well as a mattress on the floor, the twin and floor mattress both have a Munchkin Toddler Safety Rail installed that can be easily removed if desired. The large primary bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a generous spa tub (there is a hand held shower attachment but not a stand up shower). A huge finished basement hosts the washer and dryer and provides an additional play area/gym - perfect for rainy day entertainment. Guest access The entire house is for guests. There is one lockable owner closet at the top of the spiral staircase. Catskill Stream is snuggled into an area so rich in history, where legend begat fact, that the neighborhood adds another layer of wonder to an already stunning setting. It was this immediate area of Palenville that Washington Irving borrowed in 1819 for the setting for the epic slumber and awakening of "Rip Van Winkle," drawing the then-young country's attention to the area. A few years later, the first of the pioneering artists of what became known as the Hudson River School of painting were pulled here, too. Thomas Cole, Kaaterskill Thomas Cole, The Falls of the Kaaterskill, 1826 The young Thomas Cole (whom we are related to!) first visited here in 1825, to sketch nearby Kaaterskill Falls and other spots. The paintings he made from those sketches moved many other artists to flock to the area to try to capture it's awe-inspiring beauty, not only on canvas but also in poetry and prose. Their glorious works, widely reproduced in the major periodicals of the day, attracted so many visitors that they in turn spurred the popularity of grand mountaintop hotels, which became favored destinations for all the giants of the 19th and early 20th century. The famed Catskill Mountain House, in 1823 the first resort in America, was as legendary in its time as any playground of the famous and powerful today. The Mountain House, and the others that followed, like the Hotel Kaaterskill and the Laurel House, attracted Twain, Sherman, Presidents Arthur and Grant, along with nobility and notables from all over the world. This is the real Catskill Mountains, not the vacation areas in the foothills to the southeast that long ago misappropriated the name. The justly famed Kaaterskill Falls, the tallest in New York State, rendered and made famous by all the major Hudson River School artists, is no more than four miles up the road! The Mountain House, Hotel Kaaterskill and the Laurel House, widely-famed landmarks in their day, are all gone now. The depression of the 1930's, fire, and the march of time eventually brought their reign to the end, and the once imposing structures demolished. But the scenery is now even more sublime since the area has reverted to its natural state, and man made structures no longer interfere. Asher Durand, who bought one of Thomas Cole's original three paintings of the region, painted this tribute to his friends William Cullen Bryant and Cole after the latter's passing. It shows his interpretation of a spot in the Kaaterskill Clove, borrowing various features from different locations. It is regarded as a defining work of the Hudson River School. The Hudson River School Art Trail — Hike to the nearby sites made famous by the painters of the Hudson River School. "Cedar Grove" — the Thomas Cole House in the nearby Town of Catskill, a national historic site. "Olana" — The Frederick Church House, in Hudson, NY, hailed by many as the queen of the Hudson Valley estates. The Wadsworth Atheneum's renowned Hudson River School collection, the finest of its kind, contains over 65 Hudson River landscapes, including thirteen of Thomas Cole's. The paintings are currently traveling as an exhibit in Europe (9/08). Founder Daniel Wadsworth was one of Cole's most important patrons. Centrally located to Woodstock, Kingston, and under 25 minutes to Hunter Mtn. The space Le Petit Cottage is a charming farm cottage and a truly stunning country escape. Built in 1851 and restored in 2012, the property blends just the right proportions of original details with clean-lined and contemporary accompanying furniture, and of course, loads of natural light. A small winding road leads you just five miles outside of the heart of Saugerties to a quiet community surrounding the Saugerties Reservoir. The cottage is on a corner lot, shielded from sight by trees and leaves during the Spring through early Fall. With a fenced yard perfect for dog lovers. Though neighbors are visible, the property has a serene and private quality. Enter through the screened-in porch to a partitioned dining room and fully stocked kitchen. The dining room opens up into a comfortable sitting room with a cozy wood stove and large smart TV. There are three bedrooms, all of which manage to be positioned at opposite ends of the house creating privacy and quietness. Bedroom one extends off of the dining room. The huge master bedroom with a towering vaulted ceiling is flooded with light from large windows and skylights in the daytime and stargaze from your bed at night. A cozy second bedroom with another queen bed and reading chair is a quiet nook to rest after a long day hiking the Catskills. The living room includes a TV with access to your Netflix and Amazon accounts housed on a Roku streaming stick. The living room also has a fold down sofa bed/futon with provided sheets in the storage ottoman. Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy space for your friends and family. We use organic detergent and cleaning supplies and disinfect the home after every stay. The kitchen is equipped with brand new appliances, dinnerware and all of the necessary cookware. Natural bathroom supplies including soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided. Outside you have a picnic table, hammock and fire pit provided for you to enjoy the crisp and clean Catskills air around a crackling fire. Additionally there is plenty of space to explore the grounds and the rock quarry behind where you can Build-Your-Own bluestone sculpture.
