Welcome to our home in the mountains. And I mean home--our little girls are on the ski team, so this is their home on practice and racing days. We like our decor a little funkier than the traditional AirBnBs nearby. Hopefully we are your cup of tea :). Parking is plentiful, free, and just outside the door. Other units can require a walk just to reach your car. The on-demand ski shuttle is free, and stops just two doors down then across the street, bringing you right to Northstar Village, and the Rec Center (in summer). It is almost impossible to be closer to the shuttle, which is a big plus for us, especially on snowy days, double-especially with kiddos. You could park your car once and leave it for your entire visit. Stay healthy with the fully equipped kitchen, which has all the usual stuff, as well as an on-demand hot water unit, rice cooker, slow cooker, and a French press for coffee. Enjoy! The recreation center is fantastic: a four-season outdoor lap pool, multiple hot tubs, weight room, an arcade, and a lounge. In summer, add pickleball, more pools, a splash zone, and barbecue areas. All of this is just off the Village Chairlift, via the shuttle (in summer). Only Northstar residents and their guests can access the rec center. **The rec center is off site (~1 mi away) in Northstar Village, and requires a small extra fee per person per day. The primary bed is king size (the photo shows a queen), the guest bed has two twins, and the pullout is a queen. We have lots of extra sheets and comforters to keep you cozy. We use only scent-free dye-free detergent, and no dryer sheets, for the linens and towels. The huge TV over the fireplace has all the popular streaming apps built in. Log in with your own credentials to play your music or watch your shows and movies. At the time of writing, the fireplace is wood burning. But it could be gas only by the time you arrive. Either way, it is so nice on snowy days. Housekeeping item: fire code requires that all bedrooms have direct ingress/egress, so the loft is not accessible. Short term rentals that provide loft access can lose their permit. We love our little ski haus! And we are happy to share it with you. We hope that you have an awesome time here. Guest access We will send you a unique door code just before arrival. At the same time, you will also receive our address. Park just outside the door. Then hang the parking pass, which is in the kitchen. Each bedroom has a half-closet, so you will have plenty of space for clothes. The entry closet will hold your jackets, and the rack will hold your skis. We have locking bike storage downstairs in the summer (not winter, due to snowdrifts). Private cabinets will be locked before you arrive, but if that did not happen, and you stumble upon a bunch of ski team stuff--sorry! Access the rec center with the rec center passes, which will get you through the access gate. From there, settle up with the front desk for their daily fee (usually $10/person), and you're in! Other things to note There are many properties in Indian Hills. But the location of ours is better than most of them. Parking is just outside the door. Some units require a long walk through the snow. The ski shuttle stops just two doors down and across the street. Other units are a huge schlep away, uphill, across a snowy parking lot. It is almost impossible to be closer to the shuttle stop, which has been a huge perk for us, especially with kiddos. The rec center charges a small fee of about $10/person/day. Only Northstar residents and their guests (that's you!) can access the rec center. The fire department prohibits renting our loft area, because they need direct ingress/egress for emergencies.
