Our property can hold up to 28 people. 5 Minute Drive to Warren Dunes! The space There are 6 'tiny house' style cabins that are on the 1 acre property of Harbor Country Cabins. 4 of the cabins have 2 queen bunk beds to hold 4 people max. 2 of the cabins have an additional twin bunk bed to hold 6 people max. All cabins have a mini-refrigerator, a ceiling fan, a light and electrical outlets for your electronics. The smaller cabins are approximately 96 sqft. The larger cabins are approximately 136 sqft. There is also wireless internet available throughout the property. Outside the French doors is a screened in porch where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors while sipping on a morning cup of coffee from the shared kitchen. Picnic tables are available throughout the property as well as a propane grill (propane included). The property includes an ornamental pond, a fire pit, a shared kitchen, 4 burner propane grill, and 4 private bathrooms. There is a shower, toilet and sink in each bathroom. In the shared kitchen is a full sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, blender, utensils and other items to help make your stay enjoyable. There is no stove. Guest access You will have access to your personal cabin(s), the shared kitchen, the private bathrooms, and the shared outdoor common areas. There is also a guest shed on the property where there are lawn games, additional chairs, and other items for you to use during your stay. You've found a special spot on a dune overlooking our private beach on Lake Michigan. Sunsets, serenity on the main deck, fire pit area, private beach. A true slice of heaven. A fully stocked chef's kitchen with a pro gas stove. We're close to everything in the Harbor Country area. The house is very inviting and not emptied out for rentals. Many of our guests are repeat renters for years-a testament to this addictive place with amazing views near Union Pier, New Buffalo, Lakeside, Three Oaks. The space First: Our house does not have Air Conditioning. There are plenty of fans including pedestal fans all around the house and in all bedrooms. During heat spikes into the 90’s, like any house without AC, it can get hot. In normal summer weather and being on a large lake, it cools down into the night. If you are heat sensitive you might want to inquire. That said, the vast majority of our renters report great stays and the large number of repeat renters of our house are testimony to this.. The house itself is perched on a dune overlooking the lake and guarded by three large Oaks in a line that provide a beautiful shade canopy without blocking incredible and always changing Sunsets and lake views. There is a wonderful fire pit adjacent to the house which looks out over the lake..This is a very private spot where you can fully relax around a nice 'low vibe' deck table or on the large hammock on the deck..you will not want to leave. An important note: Our house has a strict policy against Parties..This is definitely not a party house..Please treat our neighbors with the utmost respect. Normal noise levels..talk, laugh hard, enjoy yourself.. The kitchen comes fully stocked with high quality cookware..proper tools for cooking anything right down to pastry...lots of Chefs in our Family, both professional and recreational. There is always fresh black pepper, good salt, garlic and Olive oil on hand..and the knives are always sharp. We keep beach towels in a basket near the front door. Of course, bring your own if you wish. We do ask guests not take the bathroom towels to the beach. The house is our Family home, built in 1967 in a combination of Modern and Cabin style..all wood with a White Cedar skin. upon completion, the house was featured in LIFE magazine in the September 13, 1968 issue, the same week the Beatles were on the cover..which is cool. The 1st floor is an open plan with a 2 sided fireplace separating Kitchen from Living Room..the whole 1st floor space opens out to an equally large deck overlooking the Beach and Lake Michigan. There are 2 Master Bedrooms on the 2nd floor and 2 full bathrooms on the 2nd floor as well. Each bathroom has 2 sinks and bathtub / shower combo. The 3rd floor has 4 rooms with built in Bunk Beds, it's kid country up there but 2 of the rooms also have a Queen Bed for Adults.. Lots of deer in this area, you’ll have plenty of encounters on the road and up at the house—please drive slowly.. There is firewood in the long racks and you're welcome to use it.. If you are serious fire people we ask you to restock the wood racks after a fire or two ..We've had folks burn through and entire rack in one week..so please do re-stock if you're having fires every night.. The Lake Michigan lakeshore draws countless beach goers to the pristine sandy beaches every year, several of which are just moments away. Local wineries and orchards can provide great fun in the country side or take a relaxed drive along red arrow highway to one of the nearby towns providing antique shops, breweries and restaurants. The space The Dacha is newly renovated house built in 1920 that we lovingly rehabbed in 2021 and enjoy improving upon. One or multiple families can gather but with plenty of bedrooms and nooks to escape for quiet or nap times. The main floor is open-concept with a large living room, dining room, kitchen with peninsula and four comfortable stools, a laundry room, a full bath with shower, sun room with access to the screened-in porch, three-season front porch, and a Zinus mattress in the queen bedroom that we've dubbed "The Botanical Room" as an easy-to-access space for guests with mobility issues. The upstairs features three bedrooms, two with a Zinus queen bed in each, and room darkening shades, and a larger bedroom with two bunk beds that sleep four with room darkening shades, and a full bathroom with a tub and shower, plus a reading nook full of books and board games. Sheets are all percale cotton and pillows of varying degrees of softness are available throughout the house. In the backyard you'll find a deck with a dining table, some occasional seating, and a hot tub; a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs; a swing set for kids of all ages; and a large yard that backs up to the woods for playing. The shed holds bikes, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and more. Out front, there's even more opportunity for entertainment: a driveway basketball set-up, more Adirondack chairs for hanging out or monitoring children and pets, and a rope swing. A volleyball/badminton set, balls, giant Jenga, bocce, sand toys and more games can be found on the back porch and in the front closet. Please note, there currently is no fence enclosing the property; we do keep some extra leads for guest dogs to use. Welcome to Rosie's Cottage! The cottage has three bedrooms with queen beds, two bathrooms, a fully appointed screened in porch, a lovely fenced deck, an outside eating and lounging area, a full additional kitchen, and fire pit (with seating)! During the summer we have a heated pool. (POOL CLOSED FOR SEASON) And don’t forget the kids' playroom, twin daybeds and pull-out couches in the basement for movie nights with the kids. The cottage is walking distance to the beach and Warren Dunes. The space This home is located on the lake-side of the Red Arrow Highway. The property is a 15-minute walk to the Warren Dunes beach. Or you can drive there which will only take 3-5 minutes (we are that close). There is a path you can walk from our property which lead you right into the dunes (we provide a map). When you walk in you are greeted by a nice screened in porch for your enjoyment. Upstairs is a large kitchen, stocked with essentials, dishwasher, whatever you need to make wonderful meals. We have a dining area and a cozy living room space. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs with queen sized beds in each of them. There is a full bathroom upstairs with shower/tub and a double sink. Downstairs, we have our large family room space with two sofas that convert into full-sized beds. We also have two twin beds with twin-sized trundle beds for large groups. There is also a wood burning fireplace downstairs. We have setup a television downstairs with dvds for the kids, and have a game room stocked with games to play. The second bathroom with full shower is also located downstairs. There is a second kitchen downstairs leading to the back patio and the heated saltwater pool. With two kitchens, this home can handle any cooking needs for any large gatherings. And of course there is a washer/dryer available for you after those sandy beach days. For 2022: We have a new patio fence and new propane grill for the cottage. And for 2022 a new pool liner for our heated pool. Outside there is a fire-pit with seating to relax and enjoy comfortable Michigan nights. The property is very close to the Red Arrow Highway so you can explore the many attractions of the area. A $125 pet fee applies per stay for up to two dogs. Dogs must be fully house-trained, kept off furniture and beds, and not left unattended unless crated. Guests are expected to maintain cleanliness both indoors and outdoors. In the event that excessive shedding or additional cleaning is required beyond our standard turnover, an additional fee may be applied. This house is perfect for family vacations and holiday gatherings. There are many restaurants and breweries within a ten-minute drive, and the train station is fifteen minutes away. Chef's kitchen with Viking range, open floor plan with gorgeous windows and views onto the nature preserve.
