The house has plenty of space for families or groups of friends, and offers an awesome outdoor patio and pool area. Well behaved dogs and kids welcome. The space This is our “primary” home, and when we are elsewhere, we’ll share it with you. Completely remodeled in 2019, our home has plenty of room for groups to be together, as well as have privacy. The kitchen is stocked and state of the art, with a six burner Kucht gas stove and stainless appliances. The beds have Casper mattresses and quality linens. We have cable and streaming TV, a Sonos speaker system, and everything you need to unplug. Guest access The house is spread over 4 levels. The main floor features a large living room with giant flat screen and working fireplace, a four season sunroom, a screened porch, guest loo and large kitchen and dining room with french doors to the stone patio. Upstairs, four roomy bedrooms and three bathrooms await. The finished basement includes a large l-shaped sofa and flat screen TV, with space for a double air mattress. The pool, patio and BBQ area is private and beautifully landscaped. Other things to note We are frequent travelers, and built amenities we like to have into our home. Other things to note Quiet nights, a safe area, and beautiful homes abound on the tree-lined streets of the Fleetwood section of Mount Vernon. Poised on New York City's northern border, Mount Vernon offers quick commuter rail access to NYC and a location between two parkways for easy drives to Westchester County's dining and shopping. The location can’t be beat. The community is caring and close-knit. Fleetwood covers about one and a half square miles and has a population of fewer than 20,000. Good neighbors who own bars, run coffee businesses, and produce television shows are all pleasantly social. A nice, small restaurant scene  draws people from around the county in a compact and cute but unpretentious Westchester style shopping district (Gramatan/Broad/Grand Streets).  Generally considered the most affluent section of Mount Vernon, Fleetwood is not easy to characterize broadly. At the southern end is an array of Arts and Crafts bungalows, Dutch colonial-style homes, and midcentury Capes. Co-ops, with Tudor facades, are tucked here and there. On the north end, single-family homes sit on larger lots, and some neighborhoods end in cul-de-sacs.  Mount Vernon is an eclectic community. Fleetwood is in the north end of Mt. Vernon and within a 15-20 minute walk of the entirety of Bronxville, which is one of the wealthiest suburbs of NYC. It has great restaurants, shops and boutiques. The south side of Mount Vernon is closer to the Bronx in geography and more urban in look and feel. It also includes the civic and commercial districts. The streets surrounding our home are dotted with the unique architecture of 1800's Victorians, Prewar Tudors, 1920s brick Estates, Mediterranean, Raised Ranches, and Postwar Colonial single family homes. It is hard to tell where Fleetwood ends and the village of Bronxville begins. COMMUTE Mount Vernon is easy to get to from Manhattan. The three Metro-North Railroad stations are: Fleetwood and Mount Vernon West on the Harlem Line, with commutes of about 30 minutes into Midtown, and Mount Vernon East is on the New Haven Line that gets to Grand Central Terminal in 30 min. It's also a 30-minute drive by car to the Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art) on a Sunday morning & 25 minutes to Yankee Stadium on a Monday evening. As owners, our home is available while we are living aboard our sailboat. In the summer we sail: The Long Island Sound, Block Island, Newport, Boston, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and other Northeast ports. In the winter, we are sailing the Caribbean Island chain, but we are accessible to our guests.
