With two oceanfront homes that share common spaces, this is the perfect property for larger groups to vacation together! Carroll's Cove features direct ocean access and gorgeous views of the mountains of Acadia National Park. This property is located in Trenton, Maine and is just minutes from Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. The space Carroll's Cove is comprised of two homes, Chickadee Bay and Schooner Bay, that share common spaces such as the beach, lawn and parking area. The two homes can be booked individually, or the entire property can be booked under Carroll's Cove. Featuring 8 total bedrooms and four bathrooms, we can accommodate up to 18 guests. Bed sizes include 2 kings, 4 queens, 2 double beds, 4 twins and 1 futon. Please note a third home is also on site and is the owner's residence.

Acadia Lake House & Cottage

Owl Point sits on 10 acres of waterfront with sweeping lawns, lush meadows, oak and pine forest, and the rocky beaches emblematic of the Maine coast. There's plenty of space to wander or lounge around the house and its many porches. The house is large! There are 5 actual bedrooms and several living spaces. A dine-in kitchen with a 48-inch professional Viking Range and dual ovens, a separate dining area, a sitting area and a den/media room. There's also a separate, but included, in-law suite. The space Various porches and many sliding doors provide access to the outside. Watch the bluebirds, martins, and swallows swoop and tend their nests. Cook. Hang out. Read. Listen to records. Play bocce, badminton or other lawn games. Drive to nearby Acadia National Park to hike or bike or call a local company to get kayaks delivered to your door to explore the Salt Pond on your own. The house has four bedrooms (one king sized, two queen sized and one full sized) three bathrooms, a large eat in kitchen and open den/living dining area on the main floor (as well as a mudroom /laundry room). Downstairs there's an addition suite with a bedroom, bathroom kitchenette (rarely used) and living room/play room/overflow sleeping space. The downstairs space has a sunny walkout south-facing patio-- I love to bring my yoga mat down here and look out the big sliding glass doors at the meadow while I do a mini work out. Two of the upstairs bathrooms were just completely renovated this year (I really like them!) and the other two bathrooms are on the list! The house is really big but also very cozy. I've been working on the gardens, and while you won't be able to see them in the winter I'm proud of how the perennial garden is turning out. Our next focus is really improving the kitchen garden. It's a beautiful property with many beautiful natural areas nearby. It is rural. There are animals and insects around. We do have the house and surrounding areas treated for pests quarterly (with natural products or from protected bait stations) but know that this is a natural area with lots of animals and critters about. We have an automatic generator, but please be kind as mother nature is serious out here in Maine and things can happen. Guest access You'll have access to the whole house and the 10 acres of grounds. We keep the garage and one closet in the house locked as well as the utility portion of the basement.

Waterfront Big House views of Acadia & dock

The Acorn had been rented per room, hostel-style, but this practice ceased during the pandemic. We kept the names of the separate rooms: Bear Cave (twin bed), Eagle Aerie (2 twins), Wren’s Nest and Fisher Cat’s Den (each have full beds), Romp of Otters (queen bed) and Banditry of Chickadees (a queen bed and a twin). The first floor has a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and full bath. An outdoor staircase leads to the second floor which has 4 bedrooms and the third floor has another bathroom and library. The space The Acorn has been a hard-working member of the Oakland House family for years. It was built as a private home, became an “ice house” to store blocks of frozen pond water later shipped to cities for refrigeration, once a casino and now a most welcoming vintage Maine home for guests to spend several nights or an extended vacation. Puffin Rock-Private Ocean Beach in Brooklin, Maine

The ideal seaside cottage on a gem of a property with apple trees, large meadow, and private beach. Enjoy morning coffee on the open air deck before strolling down the hill for a swim or a kayak in Blue Hill Bay. Enjoy wild blackberries and blueberries growing around the property in addition to well established raspberry bushes. A tranquil summer haven with easy access to all points on the peninsula making this the perfect spot to retreat and unplug or explore the whole area, as you like. The space Open-plan cottage organized around large, bright, central living/dining room with fire place. Upstairs rooms are open to the living room, have additional stow away beds cleverly hidden in large drawers and are great for kids' rooms. The main bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry are downstairs. One bedroom has the half bath en suite. A screened-in porch runs along the length of the south side of the house, overlooking the meadow, Blue Hill Bay, and Acadia's Cadillac Mountain on the horizon. You're likely to see wild turkeys, eagles and other wildlife in the meadow at dawn and dusk. There is an additional open-air deck off of the kitchen, and a brick patio in the front of the house with a picnic table and benches in the shade of a giant spruce tree. Our multi-generational family has spent countless wonderful summers in this special place and we're excited to share it with others. Guest access The cottage is accessed by its own driveway. Once on the property, guests have access to the beach which has plastic beach chairs and 2 kayaks available for use. The meadow leading down to the beach is a great place for a game of frisbee or soccer. Up the grass hill from the cottage is the garden and main house which are still used by our family. The house is within view of the cottage but the there is ample privacy between the two spaces.

With panoramic ocean views on a 4 acre property, this historic beachfront Deer Isle, Maine cottage -- renovated in 2021 -- transports you to a cozy and character filled seaside paradise. The cottage was originally built by our grandfather in 1970's and renovated in 2021 with a massive addition. It's a mix of old and new, with furniture and Maine needlepoint artwork throughout that were built by our grandparents but with all the modern amenities you need to feel comfortable, including two smart TVs and wifi. We are just a short drive from Stonington where you can check out local art galleries and antique shops or pick your own lobster. Yes, we have everything you need to cook your lobster at the cottage! The 1869 Brooksville House is classic Maine farmhouse style, with a laid-back, cozy, nostalgic feel that provides immediate escape from any busy environment. It’s a perfect location to use as a base for exploring the beautiful Blue Hill peninsula or Acadia National Park (1 hour drive)-- but you could easily spend your time relaxing locally on the property and exploring the exceptional natural beauty of the Bagaduce River environs that begin just 5 minutes walk down the street. The space Built in 1869 by the Snow family, the house's original simple ambiance and charm this family nurtured over their decades of ownership has been intentionally maintained. Immediately upon arrival the place conveys a unique feeling of comfort and nostalgia, highly conducive to “unwinding” from wherever you came. The last Snow to own the house was Frank, a legendary area plumber and heating professional known by just about everyone on the peninsula, and to this day if you’re talking to a local and mention living in Frank Snow’s old house most will recognize it and probably relate a fond story about how he saved the day on one holiday or another when the plumbing or heat malfunctioned! The Guest Suite (attached to the main house, but also accessible separately via outdoor entrance) was once the office of Frank's home-based plumbing business and has now been transformed into a small, comfortable studio/one bedroom living space. It includes a kitchenette (equipped with microwave, small refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee pot and eating wares), a small sunny dining area, cozy living room (w/TV and DVD player), bedroom and full bath. And we'd be remiss if we didn't mention the presence of Snow's Heating & Plumbing 1800's safe that we couldn't bear to remove-- so we built it into the wall shared by the kitchen and bedroom and it now provides a uniquely "safe" space for any dry goods you might want to store away! When you take the 5 minute walk down the street to the Bagaduce river you'll find a public boat launch for paddling of any variety, and the Bagaduce Lunch-- a riverside picnic table establishment that is a regular stop for locals. Enjoy lobster rolls and local seafood for lunch or dinner, or just stop in for a delicious ice cream on a hot afternoon. If you enjoy walking/hiking, explore the natural beauty of the Holbrook Island Sanctuary's many trails (10 min drive), or forget driving and just take leisurely strolls along the country roads that lend our area such uniquely Maine charm (hint: always wave to the occasional passing car- it’s a "Maine thing!”). An 8 mile drive will take you to the seaside town of Blue Hill where you'll find restaurants, art galleries, shops, a beautiful library, gas stations, banks, and a highly respected small local hospital. For food supplies there go to Tradewinds (a first-rate regional supermarket) and/ or the regionally acclaimed (and newly constructed) Blue Hill Co-Op. When the shopping is done, stop by the town's Deep Water Brewery, or one of the many local eateries, where you'll find safe and properly configured dining with social distancing adjustments in place. For a larger variety of shops and restaurants, take a 30 minute drive inland to the city of Ellsworth, and 30 minutes from there you can be in Acadia National Park and the village of Bar Harbor. Alternatively if you chose to adventure south from Blue Hill to the foot of the peninsula you’ll discover the small-but-mighty town of Brooklin (not to be confused in ANY regard with Brooklyn, NY!), famously identified as "The Wooden Boat Building Capital of the World.” This town is home to the Wooden Boat School & Magazine, the world-renowned Brooklin Boat Yard, and numerous boatbuilders, artists, writers, musicians, and makers of multiple varieties. Now you’ll be surrounded on all sides by Penobscot and Jericho Bays, including Eggemoggin Reach, recognized widely as one of New England's most beautiful bodies of water. Our team is at the house for approximately 7 hours making sure everything is perfect for your arrival. Our cleaning fee is paid entirely to them for their hard work. All bathrooms have Pharmacopia Verbena Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash and Lotion. We start each guest visit off with a full bag of coffee from Carrabassett Coffee Company, half and half, eggs, yogurt and butter. We also leave condiments in the fridge for our guests.

It is a pure paradise if you want to live on the beach on your own and within minutes of driving to the main local attractions. You'll be amazed of our botanical garden and landscape. The space The property offers everything your family needs for a quintessential New England vacation. With 200 feet of sea shore front, the land plot has plenty of space right near the water – about 1 acre of green lawn, great beach, shore front fire pit amphitheater, fantastic stone patio for outside dining, great evergreen botanical garden: collection of Japanese maples that have beautiful leaves changing colors three times during the spring, summer and absolutely spectacular during October - November, rosary with a number of David Austin varieties, rhododendron and azalea garden, hydrangeas of different varieties, apple trees and high bush blueberry gardens, peonies, lavender and much more. The main house is situated just 50 feet from the water and the sound of the waves will caress your ears throughout your vacation. The large families will feel comfortable inside the main house with three bedrooms. There are views of the bay and all (9) major Acadia's mountains from both the outdoor deck and living room with floor-to-ceiling windows/sliding doors. Each home is well-appointed for comfort and privacy, with plenty of room to relax indoors and out. Watch the sunrise over the water, explore the shoreline, and unwind in the sea breeze—this is the perfect setting for a classic Maine getaway. The space The main home features 2 queen bedrooms and a sleeper sofa, while the second-floor unit above the garage includes a loft queen, a queen bedroom, and another sleeper sofa. Enjoy ocean views, AC, and a private stairway to the beach just across the street, perfect for swimming, relaxing, or sunset walks along the shore. Guest access Guests will love spending time on the beach, perfect for morning coffee, sunset walks, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water. The private stairway makes access easy and convenient for all. Other things to note Please note the main home is a single-story home with two bedrooms and one bath and parking for up to four vehicles. The second unit is an apartment with loft above a garage located next door. Guests will need to use stairs on the outside of the building to access the unit. Walking distance between the two homes is one to two minutes via a path with solar lights. Both homes have incredible ocean views and guests can cross the quiet road in front of the homes to access the shoreline. A stairway leading down to the beach is available. There is an additional home on the property that is not included as part of this rental.

Cove & Cottage at Newbury Neck

This lovely cape sits just outside of Blue Hill village and sleeps up to eight guests with 4 bedrooms and two full bathrooms. This is a great home base for day trips exploring the Blue Hill peninsula and surrounding towns, Deer Isle/Stonington, Bucksport, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, which is 35 miles away. Rents Friday to Friday from May through October. Please ask if you'd like to bring your non-shedding dog. The house was clean, well decorated and had everything a group could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Blue Hill is a great centrally located home base for day trips to many of Maine’s best locations. The “Mail Boat” from Stonington to Isle Au Haut” is a great way to spend a day and there are a number of beautiful hiking trials in the area.

The space An accessible, comfortable and inviting pet friendly home on 3 acres of beautiful land. Our home is close to all the amenities that the “quietside” of MDI offers. Quick car or bike ride to Seal Cove and Long Pond, 10 minute drive to Southwest Harbor, and 20 minutes to the main entrance of Acadia National Park. Many other local Acadia trails nearby. A wonderful place to relax after a full day of exploring all that the island has to offer! Guest access Drive to most places, but many sites are easily visited via biking or hiking for the more adventurous. Seal Cove Hideaway • Acadia's Quietside

The Green House is a fully furnished three bedroom, two bathroom house. Originally built in 1890's on an apple orchard. Today there are still some old apple trees that are prolific producers in the fall. The house is located on Falls Bridge Road, which is less than 10 minutes drive to Blue Hill village, a beautiful historic town full of history. We are 45-50 minutes drive to the HQ of Acadia National Park. We have a large lawn with a sea view (+1 acre). No beach access. No pets Guest access The Green House is just off the main road set back about 70 feet. The house is on three levels. Ground level is the garage and laundry, the main level is the entrance way and stairs, living room facing due east to watch the sun and moon come up, the kitchen, the dining room, the sun room, the reading room, bedroom 1 and bathroom. Upstairs we have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The laundry is accessed from inside the house right next to the kitchen. Stairs lead down to the laundry. The laundry door at the top of the stairs can be locked for security as this laundry area is a shared space for our other guests who rent our cottages down the track. Please leave the basement/laundry door leading to the parking area unlocked at all times. Other things to note We have strict House rules. No smoking No pets Being mindful of noise after 9pm. No Beach access in summer June 1 - September 30 Give the BBQ grills a scrub down after use Clean all your kitchen dishes before leaving and start a load in the dishwasher before you leave. If there is excessive mess over and above what my cleaner deems normal, then this will be drawn from your security deposit. Treat it like your own home and you should be just fine.

While the views are unbeatable, guests can also enjoy the spacious outdoor seating area, the large lawn and gorgeous beach! Other things to note The Schooner Bay House is part of Carroll's Cove. Carroll's Cove is comprised of two homes, Chickadee Bay and Schooner Bay, that share common spaces such as the beach, lawn and parking area. The two homes can be booked individually, or both homes can be booked under Carroll's Cove. Please note a third home is also on site and is the owner's residence. Schooner Bay House

This beautifully renovated 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath home is available for your Maine vacation. You can enjoy nearby destinations and attractions or relax in comfort on the deck with a small but lovely view of Blue Hill Bay. The space This house has its own travel history. It started out life on a nearby island. When that community was abandoned in the mid-19th century, the building was floated across the bay to its current location where it served as the office for a small mining company during the gold and silver boom of the 1870s and 1880s in this area. More than 100 years ago it was turned into a home. Downstairs has a living room with propane "woodstove", Kitchen, dining room and bath (shower only). Have coffee on the deck in the morning or a cool beverage in the afternoon and enjoy the view of Blue Hill Bay. Upstairs is a half bath and 3 bedrooms for up to 5 guests (queen, double and twin beds, should you feel like Goldilocks!). Two of the bedrooms (queen and twin) have a view of the water. Towels and bedding are provided, of course. We like to think that everything is provided and ready for your stay but if you feel something is missing please let us know and we'll do our best to provide it. The entire house has recently been completely renovated. It's a charming cottage waiting for you. We don't own the waterfront so cannot provide access to the shore right at the house but there a number of public access points nearby in town. Please note that this part of Maine is known as the rocky coast so sand beaches (as we know them south of here) are few and far between. There is a popular sandy beach and swimming area in another part of town and we're happy to provide directions. Guest access High speed internet and cable television are provided. Mount Desert and Acadia National Park are less than an hour away, for hiking, shopping, dining and just enjoying the spectacular scenery. Things are a little quieter on our side of the bay but there is still plenty to take in. Depending on when you come there are activities for everyone to enjoy -- a charming Memorial Day parade in Blue Hill (during amazing lilac season), a community 4th of July parade in Brooklin followed by a barbecued chicken lunch on the town green and fireworks at the park in Blue Hill, or the Blue Hill Fair over Labor Day weekend. Guests will doubtless want to visit Deer Isle-Stonington as well as Blue Hill village for its fantastic views and working fishing village. If you like to hike, you're in luck. Acadia National Park provides numerous trails of varying difficulty. If you would like to try something nearer to the rental, and much less crowded, several local land trusts, Blue Hill Heritage Trust and Island Heritage Trust, have developed a number of trails in this area that are open to the public Attend a chamber music concert at Kneisel Hall or attend a street dance put on by the award winning steel drum band Flash in the Pans. Visit an art gallery or do a little shopping in the villages on the peninsula. Be sure to check out Blue Hill Public Library where lectures, programs and a different art show each month are provided free of charge, as well as books, DVDs, and other entertainment are available for your use. Farmer's markets sell local produce, baked goods, cheese and flowers, allowing easy access to your own farm to table meals. Buy lobsters, live or already steamed, from a fisherman's family just a couple miles down the road. Everything you need to prepare and eat your lobster feast is in the house. Doesn't get fresher than this! You won't lack for things to do but be sure to take a little time to slow down and enjoy the Maine experience Other things to note There is a 5 day minimum stay for July and August; 3 day minimum for the remaining time the house is open. A $100 cleaning fee is assessed.

Come stay at Dean’s Dream on Union River Bay, located 20min from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor Maine. This home has beachfront access and large yard. The house has four bedrooms, two with queen sized beds, one with a full sized bed, and one with a full/twin bunk bed. Two full bathrooms with showers, dining room, two living rooms, and fully equipped kitchen. This home was previously rented by a property management company, but is now owner managed for a more individualized experience.

Tide Watch is close to art, culture, parks, Curtis Cove Beach, salt water bay in the backyard, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, friendly people, kayaking, boating, hiking, biking, outdoor activities, and lobster! You’ll love it because of the views, the people, the location, and the fresh air and natural beauty surrounding you. It's a very relaxing place close to lots of outdoor activities, shopping, and restaurants. It's good for couples, families or anyone who wants to just get away. The space Our home backs up to the bay and you can easily kayak or paddle board or do any boating right from the back yard. You can walk to Curtis Cove which has a nice beach and rocks you can lay on too. There are tide pools to explore and swimming. East Blue Hill has a little play ground, boat ramp, post office and library as well. Everyone is friendly and it's a great place to walk and explore nature. There is almost always a cool breeze off the water in the summer. Nearby Blue Hill features many art galleries, golf, eclectic shopping, and restaurants. It is a very quaint and vibrant town. Bar Harbor and Deer Isle/Stonington are close, as well as many little scenic Maine villages. Relax and enjoy downeast Maine! Everyone is welcome who wants a peaceful comfortable environment! Guest access Guests have full run of the house; on the second floor, one single bedroom, one full size, one queen, and one king as well as a full bath with a tub/shower. The 1st floor includes a fully equipped kitchen with attached laundry room, a formal dining room, and a large living room that overlooks the bay. From its sliding glass doors, you can relax or have your meals on the covered porch, or take a walk to the shoreline, where you can put in your kayak or what have you. The backyard is large and great for kids. A working boatyard is next door and may be of interest as well. Boats are moored in the harbor and there is quite a difference between low and high tides. Very tranquil. Other things to note We are all concerned about the Corona Virus situation everywhere. The whole country is aware of the risks and protocols to keep as safe as we all can in every circumstance. Let's all keep healthy and be courteous and treat each other as we would like to be treated. We're all in the same boat. Thank you for your cooperation! We have cleaning protocols in place and all should be safe. This house is not a handicap accessible house unfortunately. There are 2 steps to get into the house, 2 steps down in to the living room and stairs up to the second floor where all the bedrooms are. It is a typical old type farmhouse. There is an old part and a newer part. Both bathrooms have been renovated with tile and new fixtures. We welcome any suggestions and comments!

This property includes use of the shoreline. By booking this property, the tenant and their guests acknowledge the natural hazards associated with a shorefront setting, including, but not limited to, rocks that are slippery when wet. The tenant agrees not to hold the lessor liable for any accidents or injuries to the tenant or their guests. Additionally, the tenant assumes all liability associated with swimming, boating, and other shoreline activities, and agrees that non-swimmers and any children under the age of 13 will wear a life jacket at all times when around docks and in boats.
