Please note that the location is at an elevation of 7,000 ft, where weather conditions can be unpredictable and snowfall may occur at any time of the year. We recommend arriving well-prepared for changing weather conditions. Guests should be aware that this cabin is in the forest/woods which is home to many creatures big and small. Although there is a pest control company that comes frequently, some of the tiny ones may get into the cabin from time to time. NO REFUNDS will be granted because someone saw a spider, a fly, a wasp, a mouse, an ant, etc. You will be asked to agree an outside contract that clarifies the details and ensures proper expectations on both sides. The properties are surrounded by meadows which can at times grow to be tall. If you expect Kentucky Bluegrass at all times around the property, we may not be the best choice for you. We cannot modify the scheduled time since we are in a rural area and attend to the hot tubs on a somewhat changing schedule. Please consider this fact as you book. Other things to note This house can accommodate very small trailers below 10 feet. However, be aware that during winter months this area can get a very large amount of snow (1 foot in 24 hours which is exacerbated by drifts due to strong winds) in a short period of time and even though we do our absolute best to plow the roads the crews can be overwhelmed during such times. If you plan to bring trailers then bring them at your own risk. We do not guarantee we can accommodate such a large trailer during winter storms. Please note that the location is at an elevation of 7,000 ft, where weather conditions can be unpredictable and snowfall may occur at any time of the year. We recommend arriving well-prepared for changing weather conditions. Guests should be aware that this cabin is in the forest/woods which is home to many creatures big and small. Although there is a pest control company that comes frequently, some of the tiny ones may get into the cabin from time to time. NO REFUNDS will be granted because someone saw a spider, a fly, a wasp, a mouse, an ant, etc. You will be asked to agree an outside contract that clarifies the details and ensures proper expectations on both sides. The properties are surrounded by meadows which can at times grow to be tall. If you expect Kentucky Bluegrass at all times around the property, we may not be the best choice for you. It is very common to have dust, debris and cobwebs on the decks and outside areas in spite of our efforts. Also fire pits may not be usable due to fire restrictions. Also road and other constructions are passable in neighboring properties and we cannot control what neighbors or county do on theirs lots and properties. The outside of the cabin maybe be different from the depicted photos based on the season, sunset and more. This is a high altitude and forested area and the landscape changes immensely from season to season. This is not a city dueling, and as such the meadows and landscaping around the cabin will change throughout the season. We ask you to take note of this before booking. Henry's Lakefront Cabin Enjoy our older 1980s cabin right on Henry's Lake with amazing views. The cabin is just 20 minutes from Yellowstone National Park! We provide awesome outdoor winter amenities including tomahawk throwing, kayaks, canoe, fishing poles, ice auger, snow tubes, firewood, and more. Current Status Lake: Frozen 3-inches ... Be safe! Road Conditions: No restrictions Current Ice Fishing: AMAZING!!! 4 wheel drive might be needed as winter sets in! The space The cabin has 3 bedrooms. ** The Lakeview room has 2 king-sized beds and a full-size futon/sofa bed. ** The Yellowstone room has 1 full-size bed and a full-size futon/sofa bed. ** The bear room has 1 full-size bed. You will also have access to the living room, laundry, and kitchen are located. When it's time to eat feel free to cook in the kitchen. We have lots of pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc. for you to use. You can also fire up the grill out on the deck to cook up some bbq. Wifi included! ---- WINTER INFO ---- The lake usually freezes in late October/ early November which is perfect timing for ice fishing. We do provide guests with an auger, basic fishing poles, and other fishing equipment to use while staying at the cabin. 4 Wheel Drive vehicles are encouraged in November! Snowmobile, snowshoe, and snow ski access only starting in December! Yellowstone closes the first week of November! Take your sled to some of the area's best trails accessible right from your cabin's front door! There is definitely something for every level of rider. Enjoy over 500 miles of trail riding or be a little more adventurous boondocking in some of the softest over-the-hood powder ever! Ride the best back country hills and steep climbs that you can possibly imagine! During the winter months we keep the main driveway plowed and the walkways cleared. For your convenience, a snow shovel will greet your arrival at the front door in case any additional snow has fallen. The driveway in front of the cabin will accommodate 2-3 vehicles. There is a convenient large parking area less than 3/4 of a mile just off Highway 20 for trailers. You are welcome to drive your sleds up to the cabin so you can hit the trails early! High clearance, 4WD is necessary for Island Park and Yellowstone's mountain terrain during the winter or with snowstorms. During the winter, please check on parking availability a few days prior to your arrival. The area is known for its native wildlife with a mamma moose actually bedding down right in your yard! Keep an eye out for fox, elk, deer, and a beautiful array of birds and woodland creatures in the adjacent aspen grove. If you listen closely, you may hear the calls of the resident bald eagle and her two chicks. Your cabin is definitely a nature lover's peaceful retreat! Please note that there are all sorts of wildlife in the mountains so you may consider bringing your favorite repellent and be sure to do what you can to not bring them into the cabin with you. And, when booking any cabin in the woods, you will expect to encounter insects, spiders and other wildlife. It is part of the experience. Your cabin is not hermetically sealed so bugs, spider, and all sorts of wildlife may enter the property. Please keep the doors closed so they do not enter unexpectedly. A starter supply of coffee service, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner, body wash and dish soap are provided. The summer season typically runs from the 3rd Saturday in April until November 1st. The West Entrance then closes from November 1st until Mid-December. The entrance then reopens for the winter for oversnow travel season. The oversnow season typically runs from Mid-December until Mid-March. The entrance closes again until the opening day of the summer season in April. These dates are subject to change, please confirm park operating dates prior to booking your stay.
