The space The house is on a quiet street walking distance to the beach. Summerfell sleeps 8–9 guests across four bedrooms on two levels. The master bedroom has a king bed, a walk-in closet, and its own walk-in bathroom — a proper retreat for the adults who need one. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third has two twins — these two share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom between them. Downstairs, there's a fourth bedroom with a full/twin bunk bed, a half bathroom, and its own entrance to the outdoor space. It's the room teenagers or older kids will fight over. The beach: Oak Island's beach is a short walk or golf cart ride from the house — about 13 minutes on foot. It's not beachfront, but it's an easy walk on flat ground, and the upside is a quiet residential street instead of beach traffic at your front door. Oak Island's beaches are wide, uncrowded, and nothing like the high-rise wall of Myrtle Beach. This is a real beach town. Who this house is ideal for: Summerfell is ideal for multi-generational families (grandparents in the king suite, parents in the queen room, kids scattered across the twins and bunks) and two-family trips where everyone wants to share a house but still have their own space. Oceanview Retreat: 4BR in Oak Island!

Enjoy a quiet Oak Island vacation at this mid-century modern beach house. 60's surf vibe with a perfect third row location for families with walkable, low traffic access to the beach and sound. The beach at the access by the house is typically not crowded even on holidays. The sound access nearby is frequented by kayakers/paddle-boarders. Historic Southport and Wilmington are nearby (25 and 40 min respectively) with just over an hour drive to Myrtle Beach. Mid-June-Aug Sun-Sund stays only. The space The house has been updated with new flooring, living room furniture, and beds. An outdoor shower, picnic, charcoal and gas grill are provided. Bed linens and bath towels are provided with an additional fee built in to the booking. BEACH TOWELS ARE NOT INCLUDED. There are a generally a few beach chairs available to use, but I advise guests to rent or bring their own. Guest access Storage area with washer/dryer. Beach chairs (2-4), beach cart, and toys in the storage area are available for use at no charge. A Weber 2200 propane grill is available in the storage area. A propane tank is provided and can be restocked at the convenience store on Middleton if needed. Weber 2200 grill propane cartridges can also be purchased at Lowes, Walmart. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee propane availability or the exact number of beach chairs due to guest usage. Other things to note We provide a few essential amenities to get you started on your vacation, including a couple rolls of bathroom tissue, paper towels, hand soap, dish washing soap, a couple laundry pods & dishwasher tabs, as well as some extra trash bags. You'll want to bring more for use throughout your vacation. Your linens will be delivered in wrapped and labeled packages just prior to your arrival by a professional linen service company, and include sheets for all beds, bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths for each individual, kitchen towels and dish cloths, as well as bath mats. The house will have pillows, blankets and quilts. You'll want to be sure to bring beach towels! Guests must be 25 years or older to rent the house. Exceptions may be made upon request. The house was purchased in 2017 and I will be updating the decor over time. Some of the current images do not reflect all of the changes and hope to have some profession photos this spring.

Slip away to enjoy easy access to the beach and amazing views in every direction. The home has views not only of the beach but also the coastal marshes from the back porch. Walk just across the street and you are already at the beach access or spend your days rocking on the front porches watching the surfers. Down the beach, just half-a-mile is the Ocean Crest Pier for fishing and dining at Island Way Restaurant. The space When you enter the home from the front or back porch you are coming into the main living area of the home. The living room has 2 chairs, a sofa, a large smart TV and a small desk. The living room opens into the dining room that opens to the large kitchen. There is seating for 10 at the table and 4 at the bar. The laundry closet is also in the kitchen. LAUNDRY: The laundry closet is located behind door in the kitchen. It is a stackable washer and dryer, please plan to bring laundry soap as we have only enough to get you started. The owners have generously supplied beach towels and they are located in this closet. If you use them, please plan to wash, dry and put them back before you leave. BEDROOMS: The bedroom on the entry level of the home has a King bed and views out to the ocean. It has a small flat screen tv that you can use to watch your own streaming services or watch our cable with the Spectrum app. There is an en-suite entry to the main level shared bathroom that has a tub shower combo. This is the only bedroom on the main living level. Upstairs you have 3 bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The master bedrooms has a King bed, private en-suite access to a porch overlooking the beach and a tv with traditional cable box attached. The large en-suite master bathroom has a large bathtub shower combo. The second upstairs bedroom has one queen bed and views of the pier and ocean. The lamp next to this bed is a tap lamp, so just touch it to turn it on and off. The flat screen tv in this room can be used to watch your favorite streaming services or you can use the spectrum app to watch our cable. The third bedroom upstairs has two twin beds, amazing views of the beach and ocean across the street and a tv with traditional cable box setup. The shared bathroom on the upstairs level has a tub shower combo and the entrance is located in the hall between the 3 upstairs bedrooms. PORCHES: The back porch has a high top table with 4 chairs, the grill, and beautiful views of the marshes behind the home. The grill is on the honor system since our cleaners don't take care of it so please plan to clean the grill before and after use. We ask our guests to refill the tank if they finish it off, we can not guarantee that it will be full when you arrive. The front porch has 4 rocking chairs and overlooks the beach across the street. BEACH ITEMS: The outdoor enclosed hot/cold shower is located under the home. The beach items are located in the shower. You must enter the shower to get to the unlocked closet that houses the beach items. Beach chairs and umbrellas are located in an unlocked closet in the downstairs shower storage. You have to go into the outdoor shower to get into the closet. We start the season with 8 beach chairs and 2 umbrellas, but sometimes guest break them without letting us know and sometimes guests leave extra if they buy them on their trip. Please clean all of the items off before you put them back and organize them for our next guests since they are on the honor system and out cleaning team does not take care of them. Guest access The home is yours during your stay. You can access the home via your custom lock code from the back porch entrance. Other things to note Because of the nature of vacation rentals, we can not guarantee early checkin or late checkout, but will do our best to accommodate requests. The well-stocked kitchen overlooks the open floor plan and out to the waves crashing nearby in the distance. This space is topped with plenty of counterspace, granite countertops and white cabinets, and provides all the appliances you'll need, even an air fryer. The master bedroom offers a king bed, mounted flat screen TV, private closet, dresser, a shared bathroom and direct views of the ocean through windows that provide plenty of natural light. Through the shared bathroom, the kid's suite provides a pair of twin-over-twin bunk beds (sleeps 4). The house may not be ready until 4PM, but you can come and park in our driveway, grab some beach chairs and head to the beach! You beat traffic, avoid parking fees and enjoy beach fun your first day! The space Toes in the sand at bottom of our beachfront stairs and few more steps to beach! On your return, you may rinse off the beach at multiple stations at stairs, or the enclosed shower with hot/cold water, under the home! Ocean & beach views are plenty from the well stocked kitchen, dining and living areas! Master up has even better views! The large partially covered main deck, offers wave & people watching, fresh air and Vitamin Sea! Master bedroom on the main level has queen size bed and its own full bath. Utility room has washer/dryer, cleaning equipment and additional supplies in upper cabinet; first aid kit, flashlights, toiletries, paper goods! Head upstairs to a cozy work space with a view to die for, and three spacious bedrooms! Bedrooms 2 & 3 each have two full beds and share a full bath in the hallway. AIR CONDITIONING / HEATING There are two thermostats; downstairs on living area wall and upstairs in the hallway. Thermostats are set on a predetermined schedule to keep most people comfortable. If you need to adjust for your comfort, please do. AC can’t be adjusted below 68°F. It may cause you much discomfort if units ice up, stop working and possibly damage the unit. Do not adjust Heat below 60°F. This is to prevent any water pipes from possibly freezing. If any AC/Heat unit fails, please notify us immediately and we will schedule a technician ASAP. Keep Exterior Doors Closed to Avoid AC Unit Failure Due to Excess Humidity and Overworking! ***Hint*** The thermostat will return to schedule throughout the day/night, so you may have to readjust as needed for your comfort. We LOVE dogs! Oak Island LOVES dogs! Our home is dog friendly and…. We provide: -Dog dishes in the pantry - Separate towels in laundry for drying pups & their paws -A gated deck to enjoy the view without wandering away - Dispenser with poop bags at the bottom of the stairs to the beach Two dogs maximum per each reservation. They’ll love you! - Check their website for nests hatching times and locations! Seeing a nest “boil” with the little buggers scrambling to the water is a no cost, lifetime memory for all ages! Home has a propane gas grill ground level. Use it, don’t abuse it, please! CLEAN it and COVER it after you use. Please! If you grill, use smart! No grilling on deck! Windy days make for unsafe and frustrating grilling anywhere! Trash cans are rolled out to the curb by a local vendor the evening before pickup and returned to their corral after pickup. Respect the ocean! Rip currents took the lives of 4 people in early Summer 2022! Oak Island Water Rescue website is a must for guests to check hourly!
