Wake up to the sounds of birds singing and the natural light coming thru the large windows. You will feel like you are in a treehouse! Brevard is a haven for outdoor enthusiast. The space The yurt is situated on a private 38 acre forested homestead . Our property is located in Transylvania County, the Land of the Waterfalls!! There are over 250 waterfalls in the forest that surrounds us. Many of which are within a 15-30 drive. Plan a day of hiking to waterfalls, floating down the French Broad River, mountain biking in the Pisgah National Forest, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway or trout fishing in one of the best rivers in WNC (just one mile down the road). Or choose to spend the morning drinking local coffee on the front deck, cook a delicious breakfast with farm fresh eggs and produce from the garden, read a book in the hammock by the creek and schedule a massage with the onsite massage therapist. The yurt has a warm and inviting atmosphere. With an open living space, fully equipped kitchen, high domed ceiling and full bathroom you will have all the amenities of a traditional house. The large deck has outdoor seating and a gas fire pit which is perfect for the cool summer nights! We have a large garden and barn at the top of the mountain and small shallow creek with many trails to explore. We currently have 3 dogs, chickens and rabbits. **Extra guests are allowed to tent camp on the property!! When booking ask us about this option** Guest access **Our gravel driveway to the yurt is steep. All wheel drive or 4 wheel drive is required to drive up to the yurt!!** If you don't have that type of vehicle there is parking and a trail thru the woods that leads up to the yurt. This trail thru the woods approximately 75 yards. You are free explore and hike the trails around our property. We have a large garden where we spend most of our off time growing fruits, vegetables, medicinal herbs and flowers. We would love to give you a tour and you are welcome to harvest produce that is ready. We also have laying hens so fresh eggs are always available! A shallow creek runs down the middle of the property. Feel free to bring a hammock down by the water and enjoy the sounds of the creek while surrounded by the beauty of the woods. Hammock provided upon request. Other things to note We have a massage therapist onsite!! When booking please notify the host to schedule an appointment. Outdoor massages available upon request(weather permitting). The yurt is not handicap accessible. We live on a mountain and there is not much flat land. There are 15 steps leading up to the front door. **As much as we LOVE animals we are not accepting pets at this time (with the exception of service animals). We have 2 med/large dogs on the property that are very friendly with humans and other animals BUT we have no fenced areas to keep your dog from running wild and free with them**

Marvel at the copper counter-tops and chill in the loft while controlling the smart TV with Amazon's Alexa Fire Cube and your voice. The shower is big enough for jumping jacks and the fridge is full sized with a microwave, coffee pot, toaster and tea kettle to round out the kitchen. We have a neighboring tiny house which will be perfect if you want to live "Mo" bigger with friends staying in the "Little house on the pond" next door [check the map]... about a base-ball whack and one base away. Collectively, as a group of tiny house dwellers, you will be known as "Peeps"! Guest access Our tiny house is all yours.. Our property is located in Transylvania County, known as the Land of Waterfalls, with over 200 waterfalls in the county. Private Treehouse with Sauna and Epic Views!

The little house is next to a 2 acre pond(that fluctuates), in a small neighborhood, 15 minutes from Brevard and Rosman. Upstairs is a covered porch with a bench, and down stairs is another covered porch with a swing and laundry room. Inside is a Queen bed, full kitchen, and a three-quarter bathroom. Pet friendly. Fire pit. This is the only house on the pond, and you will have your own dock. DISCLAIMER: THE POND IS LOW & OUT OF MY CONTROL! East Fork River, Dupont, and Pisgah Forest are nearby. The space Finished in January 2020. Once you arrive you can tell we have put a lot of heart and soul into this tiny house. Since my husband is a carpenter, we have reused a lot of building material. It's a small space(250 sq. ft.) but it is all you need and some. Just being able to look out your window or sit on the swing to watch the dragonflies, will bring peace. we think something is wrong with the dam. At the moment the pond is very low. One day it can be full for months and the next it can be completely dry. We wanted to call it Little House on the Pond, but it fluctuates so much we had to change the name to just Little House. There is a fire pit and a charcoal grill for outside use too. Near the fire pit are two hammocks, they both look out onto the pond. Feel free to pick dead limbs up for the fire pit, please do not break any live plants. The flooring inside is Brazilian cherry(a client wanted to throw it all away, we reused it), the bathroom has gray tile flooring from Wayfair. I handmade all the curtains. The bathroom has a pocket door. A small trash can in the bathroom and under the kitchen sink is another trash bin. Located outside near the propane grill is the bigger trash container with lid. There is a ceiling fan located in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. Full size microwave, fridge is almost full size. The laundry room has a water spigot with a hose that reaches outside for washing of bicycles or dogs. Dog towels are in the cabinet downstairs(Bottom left). The stack-able washer and dryer are very efficient and fast. Guest access Make yourself at home the pond is yours. This is the only dwelling on the pond. There is a community dock for the other neighbors to use. The little house does have its very own dock. We have been working on a outside fire pit. A little fire can be built in the back corner outside, you will see the burn spot on the ground. Other things to note you are welcome to smoke outside, but please not inside.

(No standard oven). The road to the property has a steady incline with a mix of gravel and paved. It opens to a secluded, wooded setting that overlooks the hillside and nearby mountain. Yard is not fenced. Our social dog, Charlie, may be off-leash and could be the first to greet you.😊 The space The studio is 500 square feet with an open floor plan. There is a locally crafted queen bed, an electric fireplace and a HDTV. Kitchen has a full-size refrigerator/ice maker, microwave, 6-quart air fry/grill/bake, hot plates, toaster oven, drip coffee maker, blender, pots, pans, dishes and silverware. We do not have a standard oven. Starlink high speed wifi streaming services include YouTubeTV, Prime, Netflix, Peacock and Roku TV. We provide coffee, assorted teas, sugar and a variety of spices. We are on-site. If there’s anything that you need during your stay, just ask! We are not handicap accessible. There are 3 steps up to your walkway and 3 steps down to your unit. There is patio furniture for relaxing and a large table for enjoying meals outside. Due to our private road being paved, it is easy to drive up now. We have an electric vehicle charger available in front of the cabin. The cabin has one bedroom with a comfortable queen sized bed. The bed has a nice mattress and soft cotton sheets. There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom and a TV. The cabin has high speed internet. There are two additional twin sized beds in the loft. To get up to the loft, you must be able to climb a tall ladder. The loft is not suitable for small children. Small children are not allowed in the loft. There are two TVs with roku. One is in the bedroom and the other is in the living room. The living room has two three seat couches and an ottoman. The living room has a large ceiling fan. The kitchen has a mini refrigerator, a two burner cooktop, and a toaster oven. It has ceramic plates, cups, mugs, cookware, and utensils. Dishes must be hand washed in the sink. The hot water can be turned on from the electric panel in the bedroom. There is a keurig machine for coffee. Our large back deck is a great spot to view the changing colors of the fall leaves. It is also a great spot to see the beautiful sky colors when the sun rises! Our cabin is located in the countryside of beautiful Brevard, North Carolina! I can recommend many amazing waterfalls that you may want to visit. Guest access Bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen and deck. The loft has two twin beds that can be used if you are booking for 3 guests. Be aware that a tall ladder must be climbed to get to the loft making it unsuitable for small children. Small children are not allowed to go up to the loft. Only kids ages 10 and up who are able to climb the ladder safely are allowed to go up there. Pets are not allowed in the loft. Great views, brand new cedar sauna with cold plunge tub ($50 sauna fee per stay on request), easy access, and only 7 minutes from Brevard downtown! The views are amazing and go for miles with mountain and valley scenery that provides a full 180-degree range of view. You can enjoy all the space and the hot tub with a waterfall and built-in Bluetooth. Located next to the forest, you can collect wood as much as you want to enjoy the fire-pit. The gas grill is also provided. Strong Wi-Fi The space Real logwood cabin framing The living room and the bedroom have both Smart TVs. Private 6 person sauna all cedar wood inside, including benches. Insulation was done with 5.5” hypoallergenic rockwool insulation. We installed an extra large heater so that it heats up quickly. Cold plunge tub next to it. You can steam it by pouring water over the rocks with a spoon and water bucket provided. The Internet connection is great! The kitchen is equipped with many pots and pans and also with a baking pan set. Keurig and Keurig pots are provided as also tea and sugar and whole space rag for cooking. We also keep the fridge stocked up with basic condiments or some surprising extras so you can enjoy your stay without running to the store again. Upstairs is one twin and one queen size bed. Upstairs is comfortable to watch TV in living room. Ceiling fans are located on the front porch, main room and bedroom. This unit is in a community of a few more tiny homes. Carson Creek Ridge Top

This unique place has an all-of-its-own style. It's a short drive to downtown.. just about 5 min. The grocery store is about 3 min. away and the gas station is about a minute and a half drive. The place is great for couples. The living room has a couch. Good to mention also, that there is no lake but a pond across the street. Fishing is allowed! The space The cottage is a studio open-concept style with lots of natural light. Guest access You will have access to the whole cottage, a dedicated parking lot and your private patio with a private entrance. Outside is a large parking area and walking access to the pond. The pond water fluctuates according to the weather, we can not control the water level in the pond. Other things to note This cottage is in the neighborhood of our other Airbnbs. If you are planning to bring your pet, please advise that we accept max 2 doggies. A flat pet fee of $50 must be applied. Any scratches, rips, excessive shedding or any damage will be priced accordingly. We hope that the guests will respect and treat our property like their own and leave the cottage in regular cleaning order. Welcome to Anam Cara- Gaelic for “soul friend.” Enjoy the view from the mountaintop, looking straight out at birds soaring, or rain in a far off town. Some days we are enveloped in clouds. The peace you feel on this quiet mountain top will restore your soul. We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs. Our monthly rate includes weekly cleaning and change of linens and towels. The space The property is 7 acres on top of a mountain, with the guest suite on the ground floor of our home. There is plenty of room to park, a firepit, patio area and small backyard area, all looking out over the mountains. Inside you enter a living room with office area to the side, an open kitchen, then a hallway with laundry, full bathroom, and it ends with the bedroom. The suite includes a king size bed in the bedroom, twin pull out in the living room, full size kitchen with full size appliances, outside firepit and grill, inside and outside dining, laundry, full bath. All the windows are large and look out at the view. Guest access You will have a gate code to enter the neighborhood. The roads are paved and you will drive to the home (1 mile from gate). You can hike around the neighborhood but are asked not to go on anyone else's property. Other things to note There are bears and wildlife. This neighborhood is sparsely populated, so we are in their space. Don't leave food out, clean up all remnants of food.

Efficiency with separate entrance. This is a rural area & we are 12 miles from the nearest town....halfway between Brevard & Cashiers. It's important that you read this entire listing before requesting a reservation, so that there are no surprises :) " Due to host allergies, we are unable to host any animals." The space This efficiency is part of a solid cedar log home, set in the mountains of Lake Toxaway. It has it's own entrance and is cut off from the rest of the house, so you have all the privacy you could want. We have wi-fi, but no TV. Basic cooking facilities. The room is spacious (450 sq ft), with a double bed, sitting area and desk. The weather is really nice here, so we have never needed air conditioning. We have great fans for the rare occasions that they are needed . In the winter, we warm the house with a German wood stove that we imported when this house was build. Your space has it's own wood stove for heating. It has an attachable screen, if you want to leave it open for that "fireplace" feeling. Bed linen and towels are provided. The efficiency is part of our house, but with it's own entrance. You'll have to like steps, because as you can see from the photos, there are a few steep steps to reach your door. We are home most of the time & available for any questions you might have This is a very private place. You need never see us if that's your choice. There is no shared space other than the outdoors We are about 3 miles away from the Lake and a little closer to the French Broad Headwaters, where there are various water activities available. This is a rural area, and very very beautiful, surrounded by forests, lot's of waterfalls and hikes . We are 12 miles away from Brevard and 14 miles away from Cashiers (the closest town) Where we are, you cannot see any other houses...although they are close enough. You will need your own car to get around. There is a refrigerator. There is a hot plate, a crockpot & a small oven for your use. Other things to note The water is from our well, and is safe to drink. We have been doing so for years.

Guest access Guests have full private access to the yurt, the fenced area immediately surrounding it, the outdoor shower, firepit, and outhouse. You may also use the driveway to come and go, but the rest of the property is off-limits unless part of a guided tour. This is an active homestead, and unsupervised wandering is not permitted for safety and privacy reasons. The space The Potter’s House was originally built as an art studio. We hand crafted the barn-like structure and stone floors from the natural resources on the property. When we left to minister in Mongolia, we renovated the rough sawn space into a vacation home for our family to rest during our short stays in the US. So if you are looking for a respite from city lights and suburban fences and enjoy getting off the beaten trail this may be the perfect place for you. It has certainly been our sweet spot to unwind among the whitetail deer and rainbow trout. The half mile gravel road leads to our 7 acre private homestead nestled in the midst of hundreds of acres of nature preserve stretching into national forest wilderness. The queen size iron bed is equipped with a brand new Layla hybrid mattress covered with a light weight down duvet and natural linen for a good night’s sleep. There is a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill for your convenience. A large sectional provides a cozy place to curl up for movie night or morning coffee. Shoot some pool or play a board game in the special space designed for your entertainment and comfort. The natural beauty of the outdoors is brought inside through large picture windows and original oil paintings of the Mongolian steppes where our family runs an overseas art and crafts mission center at Lake Khuvsgul National Park. As studio potters by trade our home is filled with wheel thrown pottery, forged copper and carved wood for your visual enjoyment in this Blue Ridge Mountain hideaway. Guest access Guests will be able to access the first level of the house. Other things to note Guests need to treat this as a glamorous outdoor experience. You are in the Blue Ridge Mountains in a home that was built out of rough sawn lumber on the property. So you can expect to encounter different kinds of bugs especially carpenter bees on the outside of the cabin (which do not sting). But it is important to note that there are other kinds of bees and wasps that can sting. So if you are allergic you may want to consider not staying here. Also note that this is a spring fed cabin. Meaning that all water you will use is from a mountain stream and is not best for drinking. However, the water is run through a filtration system so it is great for washing, showering, cooking, etc. We provide a high quality Burkey Water Filtering system on the kitchen counter that you can drink from and make coffee with or you can bring your own bottled water. Although highly unlikely, you may encounter black bears or snakes on or around the property. Thankfully, they are more scared of you than you are of them, so they will stay far away from the property unless they have reason to come. So, we encourage you to not leave food outside and always throw away your trash in the bin provided. As mentioned in the rules section we ask that you stay off the large rock and wood piles where we are clearing the land. If there is a snake on the property it will most likely be hiding under a wood or rock pile. So for your own safety, stay off of any of those piles… you won’t miss which ones I’m talking about :) Lastly, the creek and grassy field is there for your enjoyment. Feel free to swim in the creek or play games in the yard. Do your best to stay on our property it will be marked by pink survey tape in the trees. If you don’t see the markers then a good rule of thumb would be to always have the house in sight. If you can see the house then you are likely on our property. You are welcome to fish the creek in front of the house though we don’t supply any fishing equipment. We have had good success with catching smaller rainbow trout; however, you must have a fishing license and we only allow catch and release.

The cabins at Hidden Hollow are nestled in an enchanting grove of Sweet Birch trees and lush ferns. A babbling brook (the East Fork of the French Broad River) meanders through the property. You'll find yourselves completely relaxed and immersed in nature as soon as you cross over the wooden bridge. You can fly-fish steps from your cabin or take a short drive to one of several spots on East Fork Rd./Walnut Holler. There are two cabins that may be rented together or separately. The space Once inside your cabin you'll find everything you need to have a relaxing vacation. The cabin is artfully decorated with a modern flair and a touch of whimsy. The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and the sofa folds out into a full. There is a full kitchen as well as a washing machine and dryer. The cabin has a screened-in front porch and a back deck, both of which are equipped with table and chairs for outdoor dinning. The cabins at Hidden Hollow are centrally located in the Brevard area on East Fork Rd, one of the area's favorite roads for bikers and car clubs. Guests are just a short drive away from downtown Brevard as well as Dupont and Pisgah Forests (all around 20-25 minutes away by car). Asheville is close enough for a day trip (about an 1.5 hour away). Other things to note Hock Homes Vacation Rental Guest Agreement The Cabins at Hidden Hollow Guests agree to the following rules and understand that possible termination of occupancy may occur if the rules are not adhered to. 1. Guests responsible for renting the property must be at least 25 years old and must be staying at the property for the duration of the rental period. 2 Cancellation Policies: A. Cancelation Policy: Reservations that are cancelled at least 60 days prior to arrival will receive a full refund of the deposit. Guests who cancel within 60 days of check-in will not receive any refund. B. Natural Disaster Cancellation Policy: Cancellation due to impending storms, inclement weather or other acts of God are not eligible for refunds. Only if a mandatory evacuation order is given by the Governor of North Carolina will any refund be given, and the refund will be only for the unused days of the reservation. C. We strongly suggest that you purchase "Cancel For Any Reason" travel insurance. Hurricanes and other natural disasters are common to our area, and we will be unable to offer refunds for any reason other than the mandatory evacuation order mentioned above. 3. A deposit of 50% of the total rental cost is due to book the property. Final payment is due 21 days prior to arrival. 4. Guests understand that no refunds or adjustments will be made due to any equipment or appliance malfunction. Hock Homes will make every effort to have the repairs made as quickly as possible. 5. Guests understand that the homeowners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur while on the premises or its facilities. The homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guests. All guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises. 6. Check-in is at 4:00. Check-out is at 10:00. 7. Guests must adhere to the parking policy: There are two parking spots for the cabin. Any additional cars must be parked in the parking area at the top of the drive. 8. Guests may not move furniture and must use coasters for all drinks. 9. Guests may not have parties. Parties of any kind will result in immediate termination of the rental agreement with no refund issued. Parties include dinner parties, family reunions, or any other gathering that includes more than the maximum number of occupants that the house sleeps. Loud music, screaming, yelling, dancing, or any other noise violations are also prohibited. There are two cabins on the property, and we expect our guests to be respectful of the guests staying in the other cabin 10. No more than four guests can stay in each cabin. 11. Guests are responsible for their own trash and recycling. Recycling needs to be separated by kind and then taken to the collection center. Recycling is free; bags of trash are $3.00 per extra large bag. a. The Connestee Collection Center is located at 142 See Off Mountain Rd. (behind the Dollar General on Hwy 276). b. The Recycling Center is closed on Sundays, so please keep this in mind when making your trash plan. 12. Guests may not smoke inside the property and must clean up after themselves if they smoke on the porch or elsewhere on the property. 13. Guests must leave the house clean upon checkout. Your cleaning fee covers the deep clean of the kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, and living spaces (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning, sanitizing, etc). It also covers the washing and drying of the bed and bath linen. It does not cover the following: a. Clean refrigerator. b. Take trash and recycling to the collection center. c. Run the dishwasher. d. Put all used towels in the shower (do not mix with white bed linen). e. Leave all bed linen on the bed. The housekeeper will strip and remake the beds. f. Make sure that the thermostat is set to 78 in summer and 65 in winter. 14. Guests understand that they will be charged for any damage done to the cabin or any of the contents of the cabin. Additionally, charges may result for the following reasons. a. Failure to follow the check-out day cleaning instructions. b. Failure to check-out by the specified check-out time (10:00 a.m.) c. Failure to follow the trash/recycling instructions. d. Having an unapproved pet on the premises. e. Disturbing other guests by not following the policies listed in # 10.

It's only 3/4 mile from the cabin as the crow flies (2.5 miles by car down East Fork plus the mile hike). A really beautiful fall with low traffic.

It's a simple little house with a lot to offer in a small package. The TWIN size loft bed is spacious for a single person or just enough room for a cozy couple. The bed and bathroom are the same room to save space. The bed does require stepping up a small step stool to access. Not ideal for older person or anyone who may have hard time stepping up. It has 1 TWIN size bed. It's got a 2x3ft wide shower with plenty of hot water, full size toliet, the bathroom sink has low water pressure however the kitchen sink has good flow + tile counter top, refrigerator, microwave, induction hot plate, k cup coffee maker. Out side fire pit is stocked with plenty of firewood and comfortable lawn chairs. Charcoal Grill on site with supplies + a wash station if you need to clean your mountain bike. Our charming apartment is nestled in the woods with a prime view of your own private 15 ft waterfall in the backyard. Enjoy peace & tranquility while reading a book on the hammock or warm up by the chiminea while watching the fireflies scatter about the woods. The creek is approximately 3 ft deep at the bottom of the waterfall. The property is surrounded by State Forest. If the apartment gets rented, the rest of the house is blocked from being rented. You will not be sharing ANY space. The space This secluded waterfall getaway, off the beaten path, is perched just above Lake Jocassee and the Gorges State Park. We are located between the quaint towns of Brevard and Lake Toxaway. Asheville is just under an hour from the property and the airport is within 45 minutes. Transylvania County, the Land of the Waterfalls, has numerous attractions within driving distance. So whether you’re looking to get away from the craziness of life or want to indulge in your favorite outdoor hobby, we have the place for you. If your looking to get out and enjoy a hike or a bike ride, there are several options within driving distance. We are located 18 miles from Downtown Brevard, 22 miles from the opening of Pisgah Forest, 29 miles from several accesses in Dupont Forest and a short 5 miles from the Frozen Creek Access of Gorges State Park. There are also a few short, easy hiking trails in the neighborhood and a pond that can be used for recreational fishing. There are several local breweries and restaurants located in Brevard if you are in search of a good brew or a meal to end your day. Two bakeries and several antique shops and art galleries fill the small Brevard Downtown area. Amazing food trucks are also spread throughout the area. If seclusion is your goal, enjoy the solitude of relaxing by the fire overlooking the 15 foot waterfall on the property or sunning on the large back porch. We are located a good distance from town so nature is a plenty on this property, ranging from birds to the occasional bear sighting. The neighborhood is spacious with only 40 homes in over 1200 acres of wilderness. The apartment is the bottom floor of the main house and there are no shared quarters. (We do rent out the whole house but NEVER at the same time. Once the apartment is booked, we block anyone from booking the rest of the home. The goal of renting the apartment alone is to give people that don’t have a large group, a cheaper rate). It is furnished with a cottage vibe but still has the necessary technology for you to keep in touch if you need to. Wi-fi and Smart Tv are provided (however, you are in the middle of nowhere so weather can affect their reliability). Our internet will typically support streaming and a couple phones or computer but it can get overloaded with a lot of devices and not be able to keep up. It helps to turn off WiFi for a device not in use. (Don’t forget to bring your logins for the Smart Tv). It’s perfectly suited for a couple but 4 adults or two adults/2 children can fit comfortably, with a queen bed and two double couch beds. After several requests we have upped our max occupancy but it is tight with that many people. Once you walk in the red front door, you will find a kitchen table for four, a desk to get any business done, a sleeper couch and a reclining chair. The kitchen is fully stocked with tableware and things you may need for cooking. An air fryer and a grill are also available for your convenience. There is a limited supply of coffee, tea, minimal condiments, and other miscellaneous kitchen supplies. Keep in mind the nearest grocery store is a ways away so you may want to stock up before you get there. The bedroom boasts a medium mattress queen bed and entry into the bathroom where you will find ample supply of towels and washcloths. The bathroom has a single entrance through the bedroom. The living room has two couches which form two double beds using the ottomans. We also have a blow up mattress. We do supply full set of bedding for the queen bed, full set of bedding for the couch bed, and two sleeping bags. During your stay you can expect to enjoy the backyard and waterfall all to yourself. However, if you need something, I am a phone call (if im not home) or a knock on the door away. ** You are in nature. There’s bugs, bees, snakes and even the occasional bear sighting. We obviously can’t control what you encounter outside. Just steer clear and enjoy watching from afar. ** There is a chiminea off the lower porch. You can find wood at the gas stations nearby. Please dont leave the fire unattended. This is the only place a fire is allowed. ** There are 4 Ring Cameras placed on the property in plain sight. All cameras are located OUTSIDE of the home. Devices record the first 15 seconds of movement and are not monitored. No camera views the inside of the residence. **The fireplace in the living room does not work. There is no washer/dryer in the unit. **The stairs down to the bottom of the waterfall are steep. Due to trout stream regulations we can not change the steps so they are made of natural material. Some may have difficulty getting all the way to the bottom. **We allow one DOG. If you have a request for more than one dog, let us know. We are animal lovers and depending on the amount of people staying will allow more than 1. We unfortunately do not allow other animals. Also be aware, like any place there are animals, there may be dog poop in the yard. We do our best to clean it up but rely on owners to be responsible for their pets. Pets are free to use the woods or the grass area to go to the bathroom. We are surrounded by acres of woods. Pick your spot. **Lighting outside is all solar. The lights may not be on due to weather. **Please ensure 24 hour supervision of children. **This is an apartment below a main residence. I do reside in the main residence (upper apartment) a couple nights a week. You will likely hear footsteps and the cats/dog playing. Typical noises of a home. There are no shared quarters. **We do recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. It is not required, but a recommendation if you are not familiar with driving gravel mountain roads. (Please be aware that in inclement weather u may want to park on the gravel portion of the driveway and we strongly recommend you utilize 4wd during these times). No one else will be staying in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms, they will be locked. Other things to note Comfort: This cottage was built in the 1960s and it has a lot of rustic charm. This home is cooled by multiple portable AC units and ceiling fans. This combination keeps this home comfortable on the hottest days of the summer. So if you are used to central AC and keeping the home around 72 degrees you will be comfortable. For winter months, the home has central heating as well as access to space heaters in each bedroom. A wood burning fireplace is available in the living room for extra warmth and ambiance.🔥🔥Check in with me at the time of your stay to see if firewood is available (there is often extra firewood for guests). Also know that firewood can be purchased at local hardware stores, grocery stores and convenience stores. Phones: Cell phone service can be limited in this remote location depending on your provider. However, if you enable WiFi calling on your smartphone, you should be able to call and text from this location without any problems. A land line phone is also available for guests to use just in case. The Lake: The cottage is located on a small private lake named Blue Ridge Lake (it is not on the Lake Toxaway itself, don’t be confused because the address states it is in the community of “Lake Toxaway, NC.”) This lake is spring-fed by a few neighboring mountain springs. While the lake has fish living in it, it is not always stocked for fishing. The water is not fast moving enough for mountain trout to breed, but my neighbor sometimes stocks the lake with trout. Other fish include carp, crappie, blue gill, and possibly some small bass. Guests are welcome to fish (catch and release). Noise: This vacation home is in a remote location, and is often very quiet which allows guests to hear the sounds of nature. There is a farm in this neighborhood so guests should expect to hear some distant noises from their horses, tractors, chickens, and dogs that often stay outside. There are occasional noises from our neighbors talking and working on their lawns/gardens. Swimming: This spring-fed lake stays cool all summer for those who want to swim, and the water in the central sections of the lake is good to swim in. If you're interested in swimming, message me for instructions for a certain section of my shoreline that I firmed up with rocks so that it is good for entering the water (the shoreline is soft and murky in most places which is the downside of having huge beautiful trees that drop leaves near the shore). Also, If you are comfortable on a paddle board, you can also paddle out to the deep central sections of the lake so you can swim off the paddle board. Know that the water around the dock is not deep enough for swimming or diving, but the dock is great for launching the canoe, kayak, and paddle board. It is a very tranquil and beautiful little lake for boating and paddle boarding.

This colorful apartment is located on the 2nd floor above a pottery studio in Brevard right in between the Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Forest and 5 minutes from downtown. You will have the whole floor to yourselves and your hosts live next door. Downtown is a 5 minute drive with restaurants, breweries, shops, galleries, and so much more. Nature is all around for hiking, biking, paddling, swimming, climbing, and viewing waterfalls. A wonderful place to call home in WNC.
