The Maple View House and Sauna: Tranquility Awaits

Ogletree Cabin is a private retreat nestled on 85 acres of stunning hardwood and pines- just a three-minute walk to lovely Toad Lake. The beach is a great jumping-off place to swim out to the raft, fish on Toad Lake (where we are the only house on the lake), sit on the screened-in porch off of the fishing shack, and go kayaking and canoeing. Please take note that the cabin has one bedroom with queen downstairs and a loft with three beds accessible by a ladder only five feet off the floor. The space Each season at Ogletree Cabin brings a new reason to love Ogletree Creek Cabin. Springtime is a great time to watch the birds return and the beavers slap their tails in warning when you get too close.Lovely, natural Toad Lake is wonderful for kayaking, canoeing, and jumping off the raft. Because we chose not to add illegal weed killer to our beautiful lake, it is full of fish! It can get a little weedy in the shallow in late summer. But the sunsets at night by the log fire on the beach make it seem like paradise..We are only 45 minutes from the fabulous Michigan wine country and 90 minutes to Sleeping Bear Dunes. The entire Charlevoix area has beaches on Lake Michigan and fun filled Torch Lake is only a 10 minute drive. We even have a place for you to store your boat. Depends on size. Fall is STUNNING at Ogletree Cabin. You get the full glory of the changing of the colors right outside your door. Walk right out and walk on the seasonal road or bike over to the other end of Toad Lake. Sit outside at night either at the cabin or on the beach and enjoy a good fire while stargazing in one of the ten dark sky areas in the US. The incredible night sky over the lake truly is something to behold. Winter is a great time to be at Ogletree. Bring your own snowshoes which is a great way to see the property on the trails. End your day by lighting a fire in the woodstove and having a glass of something hot. The loft bedroom has two twin beds and a nice daybed all accessible by a ladder only and not safe for some small children. Our cabin is in the middle of one of the 10 dark sky areas up North. Guest access Total cabin, lakefront porch, all Land access. Other things to note We welcome all service dogs. Please just let us know if you are bringing one! You will have the use of a quarter of a cord of wood. The typical price for a cord of wood in Michigan is $130/$160 and a quarter of a cord is $32 to $40. We will be not be charging you for approximately a quarter cord of wood, $25 thereafter. DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN WOOD. Because of the scary situation with the possibility of bringing any kind of tree bug or disease to our woods we are very strict about this. You will be asked to collect any wood you bring in and dispose of it where it cannot do any harm to our woods or our neighbors. The second bedroom has two twin beds and one day bed and is a loft open to the living room downstairs and accessible only by a short ladder.

This 1904 home has been loved by our family for more than 40 years. It's been renovated with a fun mixture of farmhouse, vintage, and whimsical vibes to welcome guests. The upstairs is open and spacious with a tricky old staircase...please use caution! The downstairs has a small but fully functional kitchen, living area has a cozy electric fireplace, and the bathroom is sparkling clean. The space This turn of the century home will take you back in time...when there was no internet and few modern luxuries. In place of WiFi, we offer a Victrola record player and collection of vinyls for you to experience and a tv with local channels...or you can enjoy your own tunes on the Bluetooth option on the modern Victrola. Our "off the grid" location invites you to kick back on the front porch, back porch or large yard and just enjoy each other's company. Our village population is less than 1,000 residents, so our streets are quiet for strolling, biking, or running. Within walking distance, is Intermediate Lake with docks for fishing, a park for play, small town shopping and dining. Lake Michigan, Torch Lake, Glacial Hills Nature Trails, Breweries, Distilleries, Wineries, ski resorts and snowmobile trails are all within 10 miles. The home does not have central air, but there is a window AC unit in the upstairs bedroom, living room window, and additional fans for cooling, for the few weeks that we may experience excessive heat and humidity in the summer months. And yes....the little shoe on display was found within the walls when the lathe and plaster was removed for remodel. In the Victorian area, when homes were built, often times a shoe was placed within the walls to keep evil spirits out of the home. The shoe was chosen because it is the only piece of clothing that forms to the shape of the wearer and more likely to hold the spirit...and it was usually a child's shoe because they were pure and innocent. The little shoe still holds a place of honor in Howard's House. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and lot with plenty of room for boat trailers. We do have a garage on the property that can be used for sheltering bikes or motorcycles. The nearest boat launch is only a few blocks away on Intermediate Lake. The nearest boat launch for Torch Lake is 6 miles away. Lake Michigan beaches, 7 miles. You are welcome to the Cruiser bikes, Cornhole games boards, and beach chairs, which can be found in the garage. Please return anything used, to where you found it. A gas grill and fire ring are also on the property for your use. Please do not leave fire unattended, and use the garden hose to extinguish when finished using. Other things to note Please let us know if you have any special requests. We do have a few vintage bikes to cruise the neighborhood and tour the village. We also provide a Cornhole board game and bags for outdoor fun. An electric heater is available and can be used upstairs if more heat is needed in the cooler months. Portable (vintage) crib/pack n play, and additional lawn furniture are just some items available upon request. It never hurts to ask.

It's a 3-minute drive or 15-minute walk to Central Lake, a sleepy, peaceful village with a handful of charming shops, a pub and several restaurants. So about your cottage... In the master bedroom, enjoy a queen bed with an antique headboard (and a new mattress this year) while looking out at the lake through sliding glass doors. We supply towels and toiletries. You're located on a country road less than a mile from the village of Central Lake. Our neighbors are a mixture of vacationers and year-round residents and have been rarely heard or seen. You're down a curving driveway from the village road so the "traffic" you notice will be occasional passing cars plus the occasional passing fishing boats (ice fishing in winter!) or, weather permitting, passing pontoons. Come on up to what our son lovingly named 'Our Hanley Lake Hideaway' and a repeat guest calls 'Our Little Slice of Heaven.' Guest access The full house, two decks, 110 feet of beach, a dock, fire pit, hammocks and 75 miles on a chain of lakes. It's all yours. Our newly built home nestled in the woods is on a private drive. Five minutes walking distance to the private beach is Grand Traverse Bay where you can relax, swim or awe at the spectacular sunsets. The surrounding friendly communities offer a wide variety of options should you wish to venture away from the house. Our Welcome Binder lists suggestions for galleries, boating, skiing, U-pick orchards, golf, hiking, wineries/breweries/distilleries, farmers markets an of course, restaurants. The space Our home is centrally located between Charlevoix and Elk Rapids (20 minutes in either direction) and is just minutes away from a general store (Eastport Market) and Torch Lake. It features a great room with living room, dining and a fully equipped kitchen. This open concept also features large windows that not only provide for natural light but unobstructed views of nature, most often the deer as they come by to graze. There are no fences. There are blackout curtains in both bedrooms, extra blankets and pillows as well as dressers and ample closet space. Both bathrooms have walk-in showers, bidet toilets and are stocked with basic amenities: shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Additionally you have a two (2) car garage and a full laundry room (washer and dryer). There may be some detergent and fabric softener left by previous guests but none provided by the host. As mentioned, this is a newly built house with construction completed last fall 2024. The pictures show a large covered front porch and a furnished rear deck. The house has central heat and air conditioning and should it be necessary, it is connected to a whole house generator that kicks on automatically in the event of a power outage. Lastly, we have fiber optic Wi-Fi. In addition to local markets, Family Fare has several markets in the area but you can have groceries delivered to the house during your stay or just prior to your arrival through StockedUp. Some of the homeowners live here year-round. Other homeowners have vacation rentals here and for still others, it is their seasonal get-a-way retreat. In the winter season the road and driveway are plowed but we still recommend a four-wheel or all-wheel vehicle.

You are able to walk across the street to a pontoon rental, or drive 10 minutes to either Torch Lake or Lake Michigan! They named it GODS country for a reason! COZY as in feeling relaxed☕️ The space When you arrive I would hope you see a white with navy shutters HOME. The circular driveway let’s you park right by the door that you can walk in! Come enjoy the Sunsets! Our cozy cottage sits right on Lake Michigan down a private road just outside of Atwood the Adorable. Wood floors, knotty pine paneling, and a stone fireplace add to the charm, but the real attraction is the calm cove and 100 feet of beach on Lake Michigan. Swim, float, skip stones and just get away from everything as sunsets settle into your soul. The space Enjoy walks on the beach and skipping stones. Listen to the waves on the shore as you drift off to sleep. Guest access The little green shed holds firewood and kindling for either the fireplace inside on a cooler evening, or the mobile fire pit for roasting marshmallows while enjoying the sunset. Also, inflatables and beach toys live in the shed, just be sure to bring them back up the stairs at night, as the waves can come up rather high these days. You'll be staying on a centennial farm that is still in operation today. You'll have access to over 1000 acres where you can feel free to walk, ride your bike, snowshoe, or cross country ski. YES, we do allow house broken pets! :-) *First pet is free, there is an additional $20 per pet with a limit of three pets. No ATV/Snowmobiles please... The space Original with the farm, the 100 year old house has been redone specifically for the farm experience. You can interact with the five full time farmers on the premises if you choose, or sit on the deck and watch the cherries blossom with Lake Michigan in the background. You'll be less than 10 minutes away from boat launches at Torch Lake, Lake Michigan and Intermediate Lake, so make sure to bring the boat, there is plenty of parking available. If you're a land dweller, OUR OWN WINERY CELLAR 1914 is located on the premises, Shorts Brewery is a 15 minute trip, Mammoth Distillery (which uses our cherries in their cherry bounce) is a 10 minute drive located in the heart of Central Lake. Ethanology which we supply corn for their whiskey and cherries is located 20 minutes away in downtown Elk Rapids. You'll have access to the apartment portion of the house in which we have redone. You will have a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen area (without oven, but with stove top and microwave) large living space, large deck with a grill and a newly added fire pit in the yard. There are stairs to climb to access the house and there are sounds and sights that happen on this farm that are beyond our control. Guest access You'll have access to over 1000 acres of farm land. The house views the Leelanau Peninsula across the bay with Lake Michigan to the north and Grand Traverse Bay to the south. A large partially covered deck overlooks the lake. The space Our property is located on 17 acres and has some of the most beautiful breathtaking views in the world. The property is brand new and has a fully equipped kitchen. We also offer a chiminea and outdoor gas grill for BBQ activists. A short walk up the hill offers you a view that you will never forget. Once you are there, you have another private fire ring, wood and picnic area to enjoy your glass of wine while you enjoy the view. Guest access You will have a private parking area to the apartment as well as having full access to a professional equipped gym that you can have access to at your leisure. Serenity on the Hill~Overlooking Torch Lk & GT Bay

Our cute little home is set back far off the road, surrounded by trees and wildlife. It’s not unusual to see deer in the yard, blue heron in the pond, or our resident hummingbirds on the bee balm. Great for colorful, cool fall days by the campfire. And your stack of summer books in a lounge chair. 📚 Heated tile floors, coffee, and snuggling while the snow falls outside ❄️ The space Hi! We are Andrew, Maggy, and Fern. This is our home. It has changed and grown with us over the years and now we want to share it with you. Since I was a young girl, I’ve loved this house. My dad helped build it for our new neighbor back in 1995. I spent summer evenings here drinking half frozen vernors around the campfire and watching SciFi movies. This place has been fortunate to be loved by a string of great people, which began with Kevin. An artist from New York City, who fell in love with this area and decided to build this little summer home. He spent nearly twenty years summering here, and wintering, when he just couldn’t take the busyness of the city. You’ll notice sculptures and some of his paintings peppered around the home and property. Our family came next. We transformed the home from the sweet little man cave it was into a place where our family could live and entertain comfortably, and warmly! (There was just a small wood stove when we bought the place!) Now we welcome you into this little summer home’s story. Enjoy it. Love it even! Please leave it better than you found it. That is part of this little home’s legacy. The home has tile floors in the downstairs, so it stays quite cool and comfortable during the summer. The floors are heated for cool fall days and cozy winter nights. Our family adores winter nights, snuggling down with hot chocolate and good books as the snow falls outside. The upstairs is the sleeping area (with ac unit) with a queen bed on one end of the loft and a twin bed on the other, there is a sofa bed in the little nook between the two rooms. There is also a balcony upstairs, great for stargazing or a morning coffee. Our Little House is a great place to visit during any season. The summer we have lakes and beaches, ice cream you can walk to, and a garden for reading and campfires. Fall brings intense colors, cool evenings, more campfires, and hot coffee in the garden. Winter is our family favorite season - cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or even just hiking on our little trails or some of the local trails (Glacial Hills, Shanty Creek, North Street Trail), downhill skiing (Shanty Creek/Schuss Mountain, Boyne Mountain, Mt. McSauba), ice skating (local lakes, Mt. McSauba), snowmobiling, ice fishing, and early nights reading the stacks of books we’ve been meaning to get to, recovering from a busy summer. Spring is about the flowers! Tulips, daffodils, lilacs, and getting excited cause we all know summer is just around the corner! Guest access Guest are free to explore the property. The home and yard area are exclusively yours. (I may sneak a load of laundry in the washer, accessed by a separate entrance, not through the home, but I’ll be sure to let you know before I do that. We want to respect your space and privacy.) Please enjoy these spaces. You’ll find several mowed trails through the property. If you’re looking for something with a bit more elevation and excitement, we’ve got trails up the hill and through the cedar forest into the hardwood forest near the top of the hill. Along the trails you’ll find wild red and black raspberries and wild strawberries, please enjoy them! You may also enjoy any tree fruit you come across! 🍎 🍏 Explore and enjoy this place. There is a washer and dryer in the work room attached to the home, however it has a separate entrance. You are welcome to wash a load if you need to! We ask that you do not go into the barn, shed, or any outbuildings. Other things to note The home has a smart tv, but no cable or DVD player. There is a vintage NES Nintendo!

It is perfect for families with little ones who might want to escape to the water. It is also by the playscape so little ones can easily be watched. But don't just stay in the cottage! Get down to the beach, go swimming in the beautiful water with a clean, hard-sandy bottom--no rocks. Swim out to the anchored raft with its built-in fold up chair backs. Walk down the vinyl dock (no slivers here) to fish from or tie your boat to. Go tubing, skiing, paddle boating--if you don't have one, rent one of these locally. Go for a row in the row boat (oars in the Toy House) or cruise in the pedal boat. At night go crawfishing, watch the sky for meteors, roast s'mores around one of the fire pits, enjoy wonderful friends and family time, make new friends, and more important-- make life-long memories. Phillips Point Cottage - Just Steps to Beach

Close to Torch Lake and tucked deep in the woods is this rustic, solar-powered off-grid cabin on 22 acres. This is a true woodland experience where guests may encounter wildlife common to Northern Michigan, including deer, owls, bats, insects, and other native species. Listen to records, cook on the wood-burning stove, walk the trails, relax by the firepit, and stargaze from the meadow. Located near A-Ga-Ming Golf Course and minutes from Elk Rapids. The space There are six hammocks. We have a tight rope, zip line, and saucer swing for kids. We have a coffee pot and electric tea kettle, and charcoal grill. There are laptop and cell phone charging capabilities. Also available are multiple large coolers on site for food storage as well as a bunch of bikes to be able to cruise down to Torch Lake with pedestrian access at the end of Barnes road. Guest access Add the bunk house that sleeps up to 12 for $50. Perfect for large groups, camps, retreats, family reunions. Additional guests may pitch a tent for $10 per tent per campsite. Other things to note Bring your own water and bedding. This is a rustic, off-grid cabin located in the woods and designed for guests seeking a closer connection to nature. Guests may encounter wildlife common to Northern Michigan, including insects, bats, owls, deer, coyotes, and other native species. While wildlife encounters inside the cabin are uncommon, they can occur in rural woodland environments. Pillows, pillowcases, sheets, and blankets are available upon request for $10 per bed. Bicycles for adults and children are available for guest use. Public access to Torch Lake is approximately a 15-minute walk or 5-minute bike ride from the cabins.

Up north at its best! Stay in a custom cabin in the middle of Rocky Top Farms. Please read this listing completely! You must be able to climb a ladder to be happy at this property. The space Pet friendly! Custom timber-frame cabin was built by my husband, father-in-law, and me with the help from many, many friends. The little cabin is in the middle of a large cherry orchard in the heart of beautiful northern Michigan and is situated on a pond surrounded by birch trees. The love is in the details at this very special place. Climb a ladder to the romantic sleeping loft and gaze at the incredible northern night skies! Wonderful front porch! Locally made art. Amazing soapstone wood stove for cozy warmth and romantic, flickering fire light. The small kitchen is equipped with all you might need to make some wonderful meals. Fridge, sink, oven with stove top griddle, microwave. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, dishes, cups, mugs, basic oils and spices are included. OH~ and coffee maker complete with coffee. 6 person hot tub is shared with the Tall Haus cabin next door. Towels, bedding and firewood are also provided. Enjoy acres of Michigan orchard, prairie, and woodlands. The north end of Torch Lake is just a couple miles away. Lake Michigan beaches are within minutes of driving. Ski resorts, breweries (can you say SHORT'S BREWING?), wineries, restaurants, farm markets are all within reach for great day trips. This property is best accessed by four- wheel drive during the winter months. You could say we are off the beaten path. This cabin can be rented in conjunction with The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms- check it out! The Treehouse is near The Cabin, but both buildings have been designed to have a feeling of privacy. There is a wall of pine trees between the cabins. Please be reminded that this is a working orchard. You may hear ambient tractor noises at various times. There are pigs, chickens, dogs, cats and children who live on the property. There is a lot of nature on this property. If you are not comfortable with maybe seeing birds, deer, bats, frogs and maybe skunks, coyotes, muskrats, eagles, and porcupines…. and other nature, please consider. You should have 4 wheel drive to access the cabin in winter- I am not joking!! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! We are located 15 minutes south of Charlevoix and 20 minutes north of Elk Rapids. Bellaire (home to Short's Brewery) is 20 minutes away. Traverse City is about 30 minutes to our south. See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. No public transport around here, sorry. You must have 4 wheel drive to visit the cabin in the winter.... Otherwise, prepare to hike about 1/4 mile to the cabin, and park at the barn. If you have to be towed out, the cost is between $50-$100. The water here is well- water. It isn't the city water you might be used to. It does have a yellowish cast because there are many tannins in it. If this description sounds like it suits you, and you want to visit, we will welcome you in and make you feel right at home. And- you’ll be back to visit again. Guest access Guests have access to the cabin and all the trails around the farm. We do not allow motorized vehicles on the property (other than on the driveway) due to liability. There is also a disc golf course on the west side of the farm. Bring your discs, bikes and hiking boots! Other things to note PLEASE note: We strongly suggest four- wheel drive in the winter and spring! If you do not have 4 wheel drive, please park behind the first barn. We provide a sled in the gift shop for hauling stuff, if need be. The driveway is quite rugged and off the beaten path. Please consider that northern Michigan gets a lot of snow in the winter and early spring months. That said, we request that our guests have 4 wheel drive vehicles, or be willing to hike the 1/4 mile from the barn to the cabin. We are not responsible for hauling you out if you get stuck. It gets very muddy in spring, hence the name "mud season". Please also note- there is no internet or wi-fi here. Cell phones generally get good reception.

The space The Wet Nest is located in between Bellaire and Central Lake, right in between the Lower Chain Of Lakes (Torch Lake) and the Upper Chain Of Lake (Intermediate Lake); there is no better location in Northern Michigan! Bellaire was named The Best Lakeside Town by Country Magazine. The Wet Nest is a five minute drive to downtown Bellaire where all can enjoy numerous dining and spirits establishments, a movie theatre, or kayak/paddle along the 9 miles of shoreline of the Chain of Lakes Water Trail exploring some of the most beautiful lakes and rivers in MI. Nearby guests can ride/or hike 30 miles of trails at the Glacial Hills Pathway & Natural Area. Outside property The cottage is directly on the water, providing 80 ft of a private sandy beach leading out to a hard sandy bottom lake. The water is great for kids and swimming with its gradually depth. At about 100ft out, it is still only four feet deep, then there is a drop off. The private dock extends out enough to be able to fish off the drop off. There are kayaks on the property for you to enjoy along with a kids paddle board. There is a outside picnic table, propane bbq grill and bonfire pit. There is also a large deck overlooking the lake. The property's natural fencing provides privacy to guests and allows them to enjoy a great vacation without the feeling of being right on top of a neighbor. Intermediate Lake is all-sports and is very active with skiers, tubers, jet skiers and fishermen. There is a sandbar on the lake where boaters hang out and enjoy swimming, beverages and mingling! You won’t be disappointed! Inside the property The cottage is a 2 bedroom knotty pine loft that provides the ambiance of a true Up-North Getaway. The cottage is kept sparkling clean. The one bathroom has a walk-in shower. There is a apartment size washer and dryer on-site. The upstairs loft is very large, sleeps 8 and is equipped with Cable TV and WiFi. The location is prime, allowing guests to make a day trip to so many Northern Michigan Hotspots. Traverse City, Petoskey, Charlevoix, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Mackinac Island! Drive 10 minutes to Barnes Park to visit the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline or a picnic on Torch at Torch Day Park. Bellaire is home of Shorts Brewery and Shanty Creek Golf and Ski Resort. Both are within minutes of the cottage. Enjoy a great golf course and a variety of dinner and entertainment venues. ***Guests are required to sign a rental agreement and a security deposit hold upon booking this property. Guest access Guests will enter the cottage with a key code. There is ample parking for 4-5 vehicles. Spend the day on your 80ft private sandy beach that is equipped with chairs and water toys. Other things to note The Wet Nest offers complimentary kayaks, 2 adult and one child for you to enjoy along with a kids paddle board! There is also outdoor games (cornhole, lawn darts,) and inside board games. The cottage is nestled on a half acre partially wooded lot. We do our best to keep insects, mice and other small pesky critters out of the cottage, but some may sneak in now and then. Guests accept that this is part of nature in Northern Michigan and will let me know immediately if they encounter problems that need attention so that I can quickly resolve them.

Your guest suite features two large bedrooms, a spacious living room, large bathroom and a kitchenette with dining room table and chairs. Your outside space has a patio with patio furniture, a pergola and fire pit. The space This amazing property is located 1.6 miles from beautiful downtown Bellaire on 2 acres of mostly wooded mature hardwoods and tall pines. This is a great year round location to enjoy all that northern Michigan has to offer. This area of Michigan is highly prized for amazing beaches, pristine fresh water lakes, boating, fishing and kayaking. If the woods are calling you we have endless miles of hiking and bike trails and we are 10 minutes from several nature preserves . We are also 15 minutes from Torch Lake, Lake Michigan, Lake Bellaire and Intermediate Lake for working on your suntan. Are you a bird watcher, lighthouse lover or fall leaf seeker ? Michigan has that too. If you are an explorer, this home is in a great central location. Other things to note My husband and I are professional working people who will be living in the upper level of this home. You may occasionally hear us, but we have provided white noise machines and ear plugs so you can sleep well. We respect your privacy. We also have an hazel eyed, lovable, very friendly Australian shepherd dog who you may see or hear roaming around. He does not bark excessively but he does bark occasionally as it is his job to protect the property. There will be a few essential to get you started such as coffee, tea, paper towels paper plates, bowls, napkins, plastic silverware and cups. Please kindly replace consumables that you use. We can’t wait for you to be our guest. In order to maintain our high standard of cleanliness, it’s necessary to pass on a cleaning fee to our guests. It may seem like a high cost, but unfortunately it is the going rate for a house/property of this size in the area. We do not allow any pets or emotional support animals (ESA). New for 2025, we have added a large sink and a new Blackstone griddle. More kitchen tools have also been added to allow for more cooking options.
