The pool is not screen enclosed and therefore leaves and debris will fall into the pool and onto the pool deck from day to day. We have weekly pool and lawn service to help keep the pool sparkling and the grounds looking pristine. The pool tech cleans the debris and ensures the chemistry is correct...however, we have no way to prevent debris from falling into the pool in-between cleanings and during your stay. There is a dip net on site if you wish to skim any leaves from the top. Our home is in a beautiful part of Florida that is very tropical in nature. This means that there are naturally occurring insects, spiders, lizards, and other pests outdoors. We make every attempt to ensure they stay outside...but unfortunately on occasion they may gain entry. If that happens, please notify us right away and we will have the pest control company that we contract with visit. Be sure to keep doors and windows closed (especially at night when lights are on) to limit the entry of flying insects. We often update and improve our home. During your stay you may notice new/different bedding, rugs, throw pillows, décor, and possibly furniture that differ from the photos you booked with.

Six miles north is the brand new UTC mall, with tons of shops and restaurants in the area. If local is more your speed, head over to J.R's Packinghouse Cafe with food and local musicians. The space You will have access to the entire cottage- a 3/2 with a full kitchen, dining room, living room, and HUGE TVs in every bedroom as well as the living room! This cottage was outfitted with guests in mind; the kitchen is stocked with essentials & more, and the bedrooms are comfortable and cozy. There is a beautiful pool attached to the main part of the home just across the ranch, that guests are invited to use (specific pool hours and rules apply). Take a stroll to the back of the ranch to check out the quaint chicken coop that houses many a hen and a duck, too! Drink your coffee on the front porch and the outdoor dining table, and start a fire around the wood fire pit or the gas-burning fire pit on the deck in the evenings after the sun goes down. This cottage is exactly what you are looking for in a relaxed, laid back vacation home! Welcome to our Home We have a 3 bed 2 bath home with pool and lania out back. The space Our Sarasota home is a great place to relax, it is situated near the end of a dead-end street in a peaceful neighborhood. A privacy fence creates a serene backyard where you can enjoy laying by the pool or relaxing in the lanai. PLEASE NOTE ### The pool is heated by solar only, so if it gets cold overnight or if the sun doesn’t shine it will take awhile for water to heat up. In the winter months it usually stays chilly, but it’s still a great place to relax and unwind. The LEGACY TRAIL is now open from Downtown Sarasota to Venice, there is a trailhead 3 streets west from Searcy on Lockwood Ridge. You will turn right on Lockwood and go a short distance and you’ll see the trail. If you go to the right, it will take you to Venice with numerous parks and places to rest on the way, if you go left, that will take you to downtown Sarasota at Payne Park or bear right when lanes split and that will take you out to Ringling Blvd. And they have a designated bike lane that takes you into city or out to Marina Jack, a great ride Less than 7 miles from Lido and Siesta beaches , around 7 miles to Nathan Benderson Park/ Rowing events and only a 15 min. bike ride to downtown Sarasota and Marina Jack, or enjoy famous Amish cuisine at Yoder’s or Der Dutchman in Pinecraft, a 5 min. bike ride. Plenty of golfing, shopping, fishing, and restaurant options. Guest access You are welcome to use any room in the house except a few closet doors that are locked so that we can store our personal items in when we visit. On hot days we frequent Scoops & Sprinkles ice cream truck with our kiddos. You can also make use of the large backyard with views of the pond. Please note: it is owned & maintained by the city so you may spot the occasional dog walker and/or fisherman. Although not many in public know this area so luckily it stays fairly empty. Take a short walk and cross the white pathway over the pond and you’ll find yourself at an enjoyable children’s playground. Always be mindful of safety signs near the pond. The Amish community offers a selection of bike rentals, you may use the garage for parking those overnight. Enjoy the Legacy Bike Trail that is approx 2 blocks from the home walking distance as well as popular Pompano Trailhead Pickleball courts right off that bike trail. Florida weather is incredibly beautiful but at times can be harsh and unpredictable, host cannot take any responsibility if a hurricane or severe weather passes through during your stay. If city issues an evac and/or in case of power outages guests will be responsible to find their own backup accommodations. A refund will be issued for unused days in these circumstances. Guest access The entire home is available for your use. The lanai which features patio lights and a dining area perfect for al fresco meals. December to March (peak season) there will be a camper set up at the rear of the property. You will still be able to use the grill area and some of the backyard space. The space Laundry is conveniently located on the premises. We do not provide laundry detergent. We offer complimentary necessary amenities, which is generally enough for shorter stays, after that is used up, it is the responsibility of the guest to provide the rest for themselves. Other things to note Your host has provided an initial supply of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dish detergent, etc. In addition to regular towels, the host also supplies beach towels. Starter supplies are NOT unlimited supplies but there are several grocery stores nearby. We do not subscribe to any cable TV service, but have 1 smart tv that you can access your subscriptions. Dogs must be non-shedding and under 30 lbs, no exceptions. Any trailers must have prior authorization by owner before booking. Quiet hours are between 10pm-8am. This is strictly enforced by Sarasota Police. There is an attached apartment that is completely separate from the house and does not have any shared areas. Separate entrance and parking.
