This farmhouse started taking shape around 1914, built using materials from the old home that once stood on this very spot. The Stringfellow family lived here with their big garden, fruit trees, milk cow, horses, and even a pair of mules. In the 1940s, the Craddock family moved in. T.B. Craddock worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and later served on the City Council and Parks Board, so this home has been part of Granbury’s story for generations. In the 1970s, antique dealer Helen Gilmartin bought the property and filled it with her favorite pieces—many of which still give the house its warm, collected charm today. She even ran “Gilmartin’s General Store” next door and was known for keeping her aluminum Christmas tree up all year. Architecturally, the home still shines with steep Victorian gables, rough-hewn wood walls, original woodwork, and beautiful sliding pocket doors.
