My home is a mix of traditional and contemporary styles. On the first floor there is an entry way, dining room, living room with a mountain view window sitting area, library and TV area. My kitchen is well equipped to do some happy cooking and elevated baking. You have use of Le Creuset Dutch Oven, Stoneware Casserole Baking Dishes, Vita Mix, Stainless Cookware, German Chef Knives, Handmade Wood Cutting Boards, Rice Cooker and a variety of Specialized Baking Pans. If you are a serious chef/baker let me know in advance and I can make available the Kitchen-Aid Stand Mixer. There is a small 1/2 bathroom downstairs. On the second floor there is bedroom with king bed and attached 1/2 bathroom, a bedroom with full bed, and a newly remodeled main bathroom that and has a bathtub and shower. There is a bright atelier for creative projects and remote work. Begin or end your day in a sunny room designed for reading, meditation, yoga or stretching out those tired ski legs. From the protected front porch you have mountain views. There is a backyard patio and outdoor dining area In my yard I lovingly cultivate lilac, raspberry, rhubarb, flower and xeriscape gardens. It’s a 2 room unit attached to the main home but separated with its own private entrance. Unit includes mountain views & sits on a .5 acre with a fenced in yard open to you and your dogs. Our home backs up to Arapaho national forest. Enjoy hiking, mtn biking, camping, rafting, ziplining, fishing, and numerous ski resorts all within 25-60 min. **PLEASE READ NOTES BELOW** The space The property is a 2 room unit with each room having its own exterior door and door separating the rooms. There is a main bedroom that has a queen bed and full bathroom. The second room is a common living area with a couch that pulls out into a double foam bed. The second room also has a kitchenette with a café table, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and sink. Please note that while the unit is not shared one room is located under our dining room and the other room is located under our home office. We are a young couple with two dogs who work from home. We try to keep noise low during early morning and at night but it is an older house and as it goes there will be noise during the day. We provide ear plugs and a noise machine and since our home is located above downtown our neighborhood is generally quiet at night. If you have any questions before booking please do not hesitate to ask! Guest access Driveway is available for you to park your car. Please note that the driveway is paved but steep and since it shares with the main property if you need to bring additional vehicles please arrange beforehand and we are happy to accommodate. The yard is quite large/fenced in and they may be out there during the day. If you are bringing dogs that are not friendly or need an introduction please let us know in advance so we can accommodate that request. Please be conscious to close the gate when you enter/exit. Lastly, we are very dog friendly and enjoy furry friends. If you are bringing a dog during your stay, please be sure they are house trained and you pick up after your dog in the yard. If you plan to leave the dog(s) alone at the unit they must be crated (or confident they won't be destructive) and comfortable with house noises. Our cleaning schedule is very tight and strict every single day of the week. We cannot adjust our check-in and checkout times without an additional fee. Please do not leave us negative reviews because we can't provide you an early check-in or late checkout without an additional fee. That is not what the Airbnb community is about. We take great care in providing an amazing clean cabin/condo upon check-in. This takes time & attention to detail from our very tiny team. If you are looking for a cabin in the middle of the forest, that is very private, this is not it - as noted it is on a large property, but there are many other cabins on the property in addition to this one. Other things to note We cannot guarantee that we can answer the phone at all hours of the day and night if you call. We have one phone, and the person who answers the phone cannot be awake 24 hours a day/7 days a week. If you need anything whatsoever during your stay, you must message us via the Airbnb app. That is the only way we can guarantee a timely response. We have several staff members who monitor the messages, and can most promptly assist you in that manner. Guests, please note that this cabin was built many, many years ago. Although it has had many beautiful updates done, it is an old building and is not ADA compliant. Some of its features may not be to current building code, but are consistent to its year of construction. There have been sightings of bear, mountain lion, deer, elk, moose, and foxes in the area. This is their home too. Please make sure to bring all food inside at night. Do not sleep with the doors open. Animals can be curious! Enter the creek at your own risk! Kodiak Lodge is located up above Idaho Springs, Colorado, on a 4 acre plot bordering national forest land. A warm, mid-century modern decor sets off the panoramic views of the mountains from both floors by day, and power shades give privacy at night. High end furnishings and creature comforts create a relaxing retreat. The bunk room features two queen and two twin bunks. The master features cozy parachute bedding. Guest access The entire property is for your use, with the exception of the locked utility rooms and the detached garage. Other things to note This house is off the grid, which provides privacy, wildlife, and amazing views, but comes with some caveats. You’ll need all wheel drive to get here in the winter and during mud season. The last mile isn’t paved. The water is amazing, and comes from our private well. The house has solar power, so please take care not to overload the system, and be comfortable with the fact that if you do, you’ll need to go out and reset it. This is particularly important with groups. Don’t plug in a hair dryer while making breakfast, for example. There is satellite wifi - which means it may be slow at times. TV, small dresser, tower fan, full-length mirror, large closet with hangers, and additional storage. Idaho Springs is a hidden gem where the gold rush first began. Enjoy nearby casinos, hot springs, hiking, rafting, fishing, restaurants, breweries, dispensaries, shopping and much more. The space Both the master bedroom and second bedroom have a queen sized bed! The bathroom has a 3/4 claw foot tub on a small step, with grab bars to help with the transition. Other things to note We are happy to host a max 4 people (adults), 2 in each bedroom. A pack and play is available! The driveway and parking area is dirt/gravel and may be uneven. Close to great hiking trails (Beaver Brook Watershed, Elk Meadow, Maxwell Falls, Chicago Lakes + more) while enjoying a quiet, mountain neighborhood with gorgeous views. Newly remodeled while still maintaining a rustic escape. Great central location - from Denver (35 min), skiing (50 min to WP and A Basin), Red Rocks (~ 20 min), Conifer (25 min). The space The cabin has a two-bedroom layout on the first level. Our master bedroom has it's own access and own bathroom, the room located right next to the front door. The guest bedroom shares an entrance with the main house bathroom, but also has a shower. We also have a loft with ladder access. Please use at own discretion! Great nook to read and hang out, though. There's a deck off the front of the house with a 4 person patio set. We also have a back porch that may offer a cooler area with shade in the Summer. Kitchen is open to the living room and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. We have radiant heating in the Winter, so it's always nice and cozy. There's no Air Conditioning in the Summer, however - the space normally stays pleasant enough that you don't need it. We live right next door and have never needed AC - just opening the windows with some fans is enough for us. Always cool in the evening! Living room has a 2-person couch and two leather cushioned chairs. Plenty of books and board games to keep you entertained, as well as a flat screen TV with Roku and a Fire Stick. There's also a sound bar with a subwoofer that you can use for music (bluetooth your phone) or movies. We have a bunch of random DVD's as well! There isn't much of a "property" - it is on acre and the property is sloped, however you are certainly welcome to walk around. But the neighborhood itself is perfect for walks (we have awesome neighbors!) or there are plenty of hikes in the area. Guest access You can can access all parts of the house including the loft but please respect our neighbors across the street as well as our house to the East. There is a fence dividing us so there's a clear boundary. We do have a crawl space on the back side of the house but this holds the water tank, boiler, etc and is not permitted to access. When we did the remodel we had to re-level the house about 6 inches, which resulted in a large crack within the chimney. It at the moment is not a cost we can incur to fix and do the masonry. Also, on the acre property is a Little Library that was an even older historic cabin when Squaw Pass road was being built in the 1920s. Standard RV amenities but includes 8 windows and above average layout and feels more spacious. Outdoor table and chairs next to it by the parking and two foldout chairs below in the forest in a secluded area. Available about 1/2 the year due to weather constraints of RVs. Other things to note If you plan to use the sofa bed as well as the queen bed, then you need to book it for the three person rate.

The space Located in a rural neighborhood in Gilpin County, the cabin has hand-hewn oaken floors and craftsman-made counters. Central heat and air conditioning maintains a solid 68° (or your choice) even in the stormiest cold times or sunniest hot days. Large windows on all sides, and especially south-facing, offer long views of meadows, forest, hills, mountains, with blackout curtains for sleep and privacy. At nearly 9000 feet, you will watch the changing high-altitude weather in comfort and amazement. There is cozy fireside seating by the television which offers you smart tv streaming and Dish cable including local Denver channels and movies. The kitchen provides everything you need to assemble, cook, enjoy your meals. In the sun-room a washer/dryer is provided for your convenience. The two bedrooms each have a queen bed. Organic hemp bedsheets are our choice, paired with comforters, extra blankets and pillows. Coffee of course. The bathroom has an open shower design and amenities. AT&T is the current cell coverage, so if you have another provider you should set up wifi calling. The historic Cabin is on the old Missouri gulch wagon road, at the crossroad with the highway to Black Hawk/Denver. When the miners brought their gold/silver down from the gulches by mule or wagon, they sent it either W. to Black Hawk for processing, or East to Denver for sale/deposit. You have easy highway access to Scenic Highway 119. Take I70 to zip up to Arapahoe Basin for skiing. Eldora Ski Resort in nearby Nederland is 20 minutes away. The space As long as you respect my property, ALL are welcome here! The Meandering Moose Apartment is in the lower level of my home, which is at the end of a private dirt road in the Colorado Rockies. You will need AWD with snow tires or 4X4 during winter months. We never know if we will have no snow or 4' of snow. This area is secluded and quiet, but close to many attractions. If you want to chat, I love meeting you, but will respect your privacy, if you prefer not to. If you have questions or concerns, let me know, otherwise I'll just leave you alone, although you may see me around the property taking care of the area. I do live full-time upstairs, so you may hear me a bit, but I do my best to keep the noise level to a minimum. I strive to be eco-friendly. Most linens are 100% cotton and/or bamboo, and are air-dried on racks. All soap products are cruelty-free and are in refillable containers. The toilet paper and paper towels are made from 100% recycled material. Rags are provided to reduce paper towel usage and I even provide cloth napkins! Reusable shopping bags are provided and to-go containers are available to use in the apartment or to take your leftovers home. All lighting is LED. Blankets, portable heaters, and a wood stove are available, if needed. Even during the summer, when it is in the 90s in the "flats," it will be naturally cool in the apartment. Full disclosure - I have several security and wildlife cameras outside including a NEST doorbell which shows me cars and people walking around the front area of the house. Welcome to Lula’s Mountain Cabin. Nestled on 4 private acres on Ida Mountain, this cabin retreat is 7 minutes from downtown Idaho Springs, while far enough from civilization where you are surrounded by nature with 360 degree mountain views. Our cabin is 30 minutes to Loveland ski resort, 45 minutes to Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin and Winter Park, 1 hour to Eldora. Enjoy the traditional cord wood construction, wood burning stove and the cast-iron tub. Relax at this unique and tranquil getaway. The space The 900 sq ft. cord wood cabin was hand built in 1990 and had a full renovation done in 2021. The property is fully off grid, with a state of the art solar power system. Heating comes from our propane furnace and wood stove. LuLu’s Mountain Cabin functions like most on-grid houses. Feel free to message us with any questions if you’d like to learn more about off grid living. The cabin sleeps 4 people with a two story, open floor plan with 4 beds. The bedroom with queen bed and cot are upstairs. If you need the cot it’s easy to roll out from under the queen bed. The mustard colored chair on the first floor also extends out into a single bed. The couch on the first floor extends out into a full-size bed. There is an additional fleece blanket inside the hutch on the first floor and extra linens in the dresser on the second floor. PARKING You can park in the driveway up by the cabin. KITCHEN The main shelves of the refrigerator are for guest use. They will be empty for your use. Feel free to use the condiments in there as well. The oven/stove is a high altitude gas stove, and it takes about a minute to light the oven. The stove top is straightforward. To light the oven, open the oven door all the way, press and hold the oven knob-in for 35 seconds…you will hear the pilot light..and then slide the knob to the left to 400 degrees. You’ll hear a clicking sound during the 35 seconds you hold the knob-in before sliding right. If the pilot doesn’t light on the first attempt, repeat the previous instruction two more times until the pilot flame lights . You will hear the pilot flame light once the igniter catches. You will see flames at the bottom of the oven. Once the flame is on, leave the oven door open for 1 minute until the flame stabilizes and then you’re ready to bake :) BATHROOM Please watch your head stepping in and out of the tub, and be mindful not to hold or grab the shower ring as it may come loose off the wall if pulled. The washer and dryer are in the bathroom upstairs. They’re pretty straightforward to use. We recommend the “Quick Wash” setting. Normal wash takes over an hour. Please be mindful that we are off grid, and while the cabin performs as most on-grid houses do, running the shower or any heating appliance like space heaters, microwaves, hair dryers etc. for extended periods of time can deplete the battery bank quite quickly. We suggest running the shower for no more than 15 minutes at a time. Please make sure to rent an AWD or 4x4 vehicle. The Turo app is the best option to use to assure you get an AWD or 4x4 vehicle as car rental companies can’t always guarantee you’ll get these features. For the months of November-May, please make sure to rent your car with snow tires in addition to AWD or 4x4. Your car does not have to be an SUV. Clearance is not an issue up at LuLu’s Mountain Cabin. If you’re renting during the winter/spring, we recommend booking trip insurance at check out through Airbnb. We do not offer refunds due to weather so please plan accordingly. A neighbour offers snow plow services for a $70 fee. Guest access Cabin and all 4 acres are open for your enjoyment. The yurt, RV’s and utility sheds are locked. Other things to note We recommend you arrive before sunset for the first night to get acquainted with the road as the last 1/2 mile to the cabin is one way. Perched at 8,600 ft, our special getaway is tucked among the trees in Evergreen, CO. There is no shortage of epic hiking and mountain biking trails here. We are also a 15-minute drive from ice-skating/kayaking at Evergreen Lake and downtown. For summer concert goers, Red Rocks is a 35 min drive from the property. At night, relax with a book and a glass of wine by the fire. Cap the night off with a relaxing soak in the hot tub. We think this is the perfect place to disconnect and recharge. The space The kitchen, half bath, and main living area is on the 2nd floor to give you panoramic views of the mountains. There is an additional living room space, two bedrooms and a full bathroom on the 1st floor. Additionally, there is a standing desk you can access to during your stay. There is no grill access for guests due to wildfires in Colorado. Guest access You will have access to everything noted above as well as closet spaces. The master bedroom upstairs as well as the storage spaces throughout the house will be locked. When renting, hosts will not be able to access the master bedroom. Other things to note All guests must either rent a vehicle as there are close to no ride transportation/sharing options in Evergreen. Vehicles must be 4 wheel or all wheel drive, especially in the winter months (Nov-April). It's the mountains, so you may see wildlife - bear, mountain lion, elk, deer. Do not approach any animal, ever. Occasionally, there may be power outages which could effect the wifi. If this occurs, the local power company typically restores within a couple of hours. Although wifi is provided, this property is meant to be a reprieve. That said, we cannot guarantee the wifi connection 100% of the time due to the location of the home. If wifi is interrupted, a credit or refund will NOT be issued. If you need to work, there are various coffee shops in Evergreen for backup purposes. No parties. No smoking. No drugs. No speeding up or down on the mountain as there are families with children and dogs in the area. Please respect the mountain and the home as if it were own. The Inside: Each bedroom has its own distinct style - We hope there is something for everyone. The Master Bedroom: Painted by husband and wife team Lindz and Lamb, local Denver muralists, in their signature "Lambscape" style. King bed. The Jungle Room: 360 degrees of junglescape, filled with friendly and colorful characters, painted by British street artist Klonism. Queen bed. The Galo's: Italian street artist, Galo, painted some of his signature characters in the basement bedroom, giving it a distinct flair. Queen bed. The Hummingbirds: As the name suggests, Hummingbird Hill is home to dozens of hummingbirds that spend the spring and summer cruising around with their delightful sounds and amazing energy. A note on stay length: we generally welcome 1 night reservations, but we really recommend 2 or more nights to get the most bang for your buck. Guest access The whole home is yours to explore, except for the garage and utility closet. Please note, this is a mountain home with a dirt and gravel driveway. 4x4 or AWD is a must! Hummingbird Hill is on 13+ magical mountain acres, bordered by national forest land that you are welcome to explore. Please use caution. Smart locks are on the front and back door. We are only 5 minutes from I-70. Pets: We have recently begun allowing pets with an additional pet fee of $200 to cover deep cleaning and additional wear and tear on furniture etc. Please remember that we are in the wild mountains of Colorado, consider keeping your dog on a leash until you are comfortable that they will not run off over the mountains.
