Centrally Located in the country, but located within easy drives to Red River Gorge, Lexington, Berea and the new music attraction in Sharpsburg KY. The space Our historic cabin is an official Kentucky Landmark and winner of several preservation awards. Located at Mt. Folly, which Laura’s family has owned and operated since the 1820’s, Mt. Folly is one of the largest working organic farms in the state. After 40 years of cherishing her unique country lifestyle, Laura wants to share a piece with you. The log house sits on more than 1000 acres of Kentucky’s rolling pastures, 45 minutes east of Lexington, near Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge, and the small town of Winchester. Even with these nearby attractions, the cabin has a history and allure of its own, and there may be no reason to leave. The land on which the cabin was built was patented in 1784 to James Garrard Sr., Kentucky’s second governor. Exactly when the cabin was built is lost to history, but it was common for settlers to build a “pen”, or room, in this case 16 by 18 feet, to stake their claim. (We have plans to do date the building using dendrochronology, but haven’t done it yet.) We can make a good case that at least one room of the cabin dates from the 1780’s or 1790’s. The back “ell” probably was built around 1850. We’ve gutted it and completely remodeled it, for a modern kitchen and pantry. The property has two cabin bedrooms, one a master, and one a “bunk” room with a fine double bed and twin. The entire cabin has central heat and air, and the living room has a new, comfortable queen-sized pull- out couch. There is a dining room featuring a Tomlinson Table, the design invented and patented by Laura’s great grandfather. The Library contains books, and printer, a library table, and a pull out single sized couch. For dining, guests have a selection of china, from Hadley Pottery to Laura’s family heirlooms. The kitchen is well equipped, and a limited array of local and organic food is available for additional charge on the honor system. The property has two full baths, a laundry and mud room, and a three-season porch overlooking goat hollow. Laura is a big reader, the cabin has an eclectic selection of books. There is a Internet, TV, with netflix and local channels. Guests have free run of the property, and can walk, run or in dry weather drive down the farm road, which is 3 miles long. The farm road makes for a splendid morning run or walk, and we have two mountain bikes available for guests at no charge. The farm’s mistress, Laura, in 1985 founded a beef company that raised cattle with no antibiotics or growth hormones. Since then, she has continued on the path of better food and sustainable agriculture, her farm raising organic and non-gmo crops and heritage grains. She likes to greet all her guests, and wants to be clear that this is a working farm, supporting 5 families, not a hobby farm. The farm is part of a local economy, and works to sequester carbon in soils and trees The west section of the farm was part of Daniel Boone’s settlement and preemption, and in 1863 an African American community was started on a piece of land contiguous with the farm, the land purchased by Moses Robinson, a “free man of color.” The cemetery remains, and Laura and others are working on preserving the history. This is open for guests to hike. The cabin consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a family room with fold-out couch, Library with single fold out couch, kitchen, pantry, dining room, mud room and three-season porch. The cabin is furnished with antique pieces that match the history of the cabin. It has a new air conditioning and heating system, both electric. Solar panels installed on the roof feed into the grid and offset electricity used. Bedroom 1: Located on the second floor, the main bedroom is furnished with a king bed. Bedroom 2: Located across the hall from the main bedroom, this bedroom is furnished with a double bed and an adult-sized twin bed. Master bath, second floor: tile floor and shower, screened toilet, granite vanity, fireplace with gas logs, seating area. Living room: Fold out couch, comfortable leather chairs, many books, and a flat screened TV that receives local channels and Netflix. Dining room: a Tomlinson Take-down Table, invented and patented by Laura’s great grandfather, seats 6. Brick two-story fireplace separates the dining room from the kitchen. Kitchen: new cabinetry and granite counter tops with new appliances. Pantry has many services of china, pots and pans and spices, a toaster and a small microwave. Downstairs bath: compact with a shower. Washer and dryer nearby. Three-season porch: – dining table for 4 and rocking chair. Roll-out windows. Library: single fold out couch, library table, library chairs, book cases, printer. Guest access Guests have free run of the property, the farm road makes for a splendid morning run or walk; two mountain bikes are available for guests at no charge. Interaction with guests We will be around as much or as little as you desire. Laura or a member of farm staff insist on greeting guests. We live a small hike across the property and we enjoy showing people around, sharing the history of our farm and our day-to-day operations. We might be using the grain mill or taking care of the goats and bottle calves that live in fields near the cabin. Guests can pick fresh vegetables from the farm garden, and feed the hens...and have some fresh farm eggs! Other things to note PET POLICY: We allow housebroken dogs that are under 25lbs. Guests have a private farm store behind the cabin operated on the honor system. CLEANING DISCLAIMER: a party of more than 5 people will be charged an additional $20 for cleaning which can be paid with cash or check on the honor system. We do not allow parties at the cabin. Guest access The entire farm is open to guests. A favorite is the farm road, which is 3 miles long, makes for a splendid morning run or walk; two mountain bikes are available for guests at no charge. The space Endless View Cabin comes with all the comforts you'd want to find in a vacation cabin. The family room is equipped with a 55" Smart TV, Free Wi-Fi, Alexa Bluetooth speaker, family board games in sofa table and incredible floor to ceiling views of the mountains. Bedroom 1 has a 55" smart TV with a electronic sound machine on the night stand. Free washer and dryer along with extra towels and linens in the full bathroom. Both bedrooms offer closets with hangers and extra blankets and pillows. The kitchen is stock with a Keurig and electric drip coffee maker. Whether you want to cozy up inside, play board games, or soak in the hot tub after hiking, it has all your needs. Red River Gorge is 20 mins down the road. We offer free firewood & a guitar to play at the fire pit. Hot spacious shower, full kitchen and comfy beds. Beechfork Golf course & the Reservoir dock is only 2 miles away. We have kayaks you may use & fish for free! The space This property is close to everything but just far enough away to have a peaceful getaway! 20 mins from the Red River Gorge/ Natural Bridge area! The king bed has a foam mattress in the loft. The bunkbeds are queen and twin xl size with spring mattresses in the walkout basement. The sofa can be pulled out to sleep as a full size bed (bedding is in the sofa’s underbelly. Kitchen has basics; oil, spices, utensils, pots/pans, paper towels. Refrigerator/freezer is slim but tall and very spacious. T-mobile is the internet source. TV has streaming, please log into your own account and don’t forget to log out after checkout. Bathroom is hooked to septic tank and filled with basics; shampoo/conditioner/face soap/hair dryer/etc. Water source is city water. Hot tub is maintained after every visitors’ stay. If you stay more than a week, we will need to come by for routine maintenance. Guest access You may use the whole cabin and walk the 3 acre property. The property moves along the right side of the cabin, boarded by a ledge that has a creek which runs into the Beech Fork reservoir. Other things to note Cabin is on 3 acres at the end of a cul-de-sac. You are in the country, so be aware of critters that creep and crawl and cannot be avoided when outside (mosquitos/ticks/turkey mites/etc) So bring your bug spray! We have the cabin sprayed for bugs and rodents but if they find their way inside, please let us know! We don’t know what lives in the woods but the sounds you may hear can be alarming, Barred Owls, Bob cats, foxes, Sasquatch, etc. all have intimidating sounds, so be aware of them if you’re out at night and hear their calls. We love animals, but do not allow guest to bring them to the cabin unless they are service or ESA. You’re in the country so there are no leash laws. Occasionally a local dog or two may show up uninvited. Do not bring these dogs inside, they have a home elsewhere.

You can take a stroll from the cabin, up the hill, for a beautiful mountain view. Within a 30 min drive you can hike many trails, zipline, underground kayak, rock climb, mini golf, or grab a pizza at Miguel’s (a fun outdoor spot). Happy to provide recommendations. There are two bedrooms, both with queen beds. One of the bedrooms has a pull out twin trundle bed. All new beds and bedding in 2025. We just upgraded to Starlink internet, for those who like to stay connected. Note that once you turn into the property there is a short gravel road to the cabin. The parking spot closest to the front door is on a gravel hill. If you don’t prefer to park on the hill there is a spot by the road as well.

Slightly off the beaten path our cabin is nestled on 2 acres of land with a fully fenced in yard making it perfect for all your furbabies. Start your day with coffee on the front porch in our rocking chairs. After a long day on the hiking trails come relax in our hot tub or sit by the fire pit out front. We are about 15 miles from Red River Gorge, less than 10 miles to Stanton and about 50 miles to Lexington. Need to escape from the world? This property is perfect for you! The space Upon entering the cabin you will be in our open concept living room/kitchen area. A small hallway off the kitchen will lead you to Bedroom 1 on your left with a full bed and the full bathroom on your right. Straight ahead at the end of the hall is the back door that leads to the hot tub and back patio. Back in the living room there are stairs behind the couch that lead up to the loft area with a king size bed. In all our cabin is about 1,000 sq. ft. Perfect for a couples get away or a small family retreat! Other things to note We are pet friendly! Make sure to include your pets with your reservation so the pet fee can be automatically applied. This pet fee charge covers up to 2 pets. Any pets over 2 are an additional charge which is requested after booking. We do also ask for pet information at the time of booking for our records. There is one TV located in the living room. We have updated our wifi to Starlink recently which allows for better streaming than we had with our previous wifi. Please let us know if you have any issues with it. There is zero cell signal at our cabin until you arrive and are able to connect to wifi. We do have a fully fenced in yard, however, despite reinforcing the corner fence several times we have still had guests tell us that Albert, the neighboring dog likes to climb the fence. We have never had an issue with him being aggressive and we have been told that he loves to play with any and all dogs! Hot Tub - While we generally do not have a problem with our hot tub it is not always guaranteed. In the unlikely event that our hot tub is out of order we will notify you as soon as possible prior to your check in date. During inclement whether we do recommend 4WD. During rain/flooding alternative routes may need to be taken to reach our cabin.

This cabin is just a short drive from RRG attractions, restaurants, and trails and less than 1 mile from Beechfork Reservoir (61-acre lake) and golf course. The space Did someone say privacy and relaxation?! Our cabin is nestled between the trees and away from the hustle and bustle… replace the sound of cars with rustling leaves, chirping birds, and crackling fire. Go ahead and imagine soaking your sore legs in the hot tub and looking up at the twinkling stars after a long day of adventuring… oh yeah, it’s gonna be AMAZING. Inside the air conditioned living space you’ll find a full kitchen (minus dishwasher), smart TV, sofa, board games, and National Park themed artwork. There is one full bathroom with a stand-in shower as well as a washer/dryer. The bedroom has a king size bed and smart TV. There is a full size floor mattress for up to two more people in the top of the guest closet. There are additional blankets and pillows in the guest closet and under the chaise of the couch. The backyard includes a fire pit, twinkly lights, four person hot tub, and 2.6 acres of land and trees. Welcome to peace and quiet! If seclusion is what you're searching for, then you have found the place! Located on a hobby farm beside of a stocked fishing pond, it's as much of a destination as it is an accommodation. The closest neighbors are 3 friendly donkeys that love to greet guests at the fence for attention and ear rubs. Fishing poles and donkey treats are provided to round out your stay. We're 20 scenic minutes to Slade or Stanton and 25 to Mount Sterling. The space It's a small space with plenty of room outside to stretch your legs. A large deck spans between the cabin and edge of the water, with a fire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grill close by. The bedroom features a full-size bed, and there is a comfy full-size futon in the living room. The bathroom has an oversized shower and toilet; the only sink in the space is in the kitchen, just outside the bathroom door. There's an all-in-one washer/dryer in the cabin as well. Guest access Guests have access to the entire place. There's lots of parking available, and you're welcome to walk the donkey pasture if you want to wander and explore a little. Other things to note When I say secluded, I mean it. Why leave the city and drive hours to sleep in a cabin that sits right beside others? There is no shared space. No shared fire pit. No shared anything. You can see neighbors in the distance, but they're not close enough to be significant.

The Little Lodge, our 2 other listings, and our residence all share the 5 acres but are spread apart, and each is separated by hills. We are slightly visible to you from the back side of your cabin (which has nothing of use to you). Still very secluded and private for our guests' stay. YOUR TRAIL: Beginning with the private guest wooden bridge right at your parking spots, then following the trail with —-> signs. YOU WILL SHARE A TRAIL WITH our OTHER LISTING GUESTS. We do not guarantee you won't hear the other guests, but we have enacted the quiet hours for this reason. We've never had an issue, as most guests are very respectful of quiet hours. This is a very easy 1 to 2-minute hike (from the bridge to your Little Lodge) for the average person, moderate for those with physical ailments/etc. One steeper section for about 20 ft. OFF the GRID LIVING: Come unwind in a place free from dings, alerts, and push notifications. There are no buzzing appliances or humming dishwashers—just peaceful silence, the sounds of nature, and the warm glow of soft battery-powered lighting. We are off-grid, meaning, NO running water, NO electricity (we have electric only for an ac unit) Read more below for details... TOILET: You also have a very first unique attached wood chip compost bathroom, this is designed so the guest never has to leave the Lodge, but can still remain an off-grid experience. It is a very simple to use system, well sealed and fully ventilated for freshness, but also removable if you prefer. HEATING/COOLING: We have a window ac unit, and have a wonderful wood stove indoors with a blower, which overheats the Little Lodge if not careful! PLEASE do NOT exceed 400 degrees. We also provide a heater and fan year-round, which works great. We are also under a full canopy May-November/December. We also have several windows and 1 door with screens. If you cannot keep a fire going or are inexperienced in wood stove handling, this may not be the stay for you, although we provide very detailed instructions in Lodge. Window ac is used by power strip, use at your own discretion. works great! WATER: We provide 1 Gallon of water per day for washing (not drinking) to use in the water dispenser above the kitchen wash bin. LODGE DOES NOT HAVE RUNNING WATER, but this dispenser system is simple to use. KITCHEN: SEE AMENITIES LIST AS WELL Amongst a minimalistic stocked kitchen (see amenities list), it includes a one-burner butane stove (butane provided), a French press, and a wood stove with a cast iron skillet to cook on. We offer a collection of teas and coffees for you to enjoy. Bring your own drinking water and ice. We provide a cooler. LIGHTING: With all the windows, we have tons of natural lighting, and we provide LED lights. You are HIGHLY encouraged to bring head lamps/flashlights for the trail, and even more lighting if you prefer to your liking indoors. TINY LIVING STYLE: The Little Lodge is 167 sq ft of cozy! THIS IS A TINY LIVING EXPERIENCE! Super comfortable for 2, as we have a queen memory foam mattress in the loft. The loft is accessible by ladder only. This listing is NOT suitable for toddlers/babies/young children, etc, use at your own discretion. NOTE: loft roof is A angled (as seen in picture), so if over 5’6”/7” you may not want to sleep in the loft and may prefer the lower level mattress instead. We have small collapsible eating trays to use for eating. OTHER: The Lodge is mostly toxin-free! I have tried to keep each guest in mind by providing safe metals for dining, biodegradable products, reusable products, and toxin-free washers and cleaners, all 100% pure essential oils. We also ask you to refrain from spraying bug sprays/etc off the property, as we are a NO SPRAY ZONE and neighbor to one of the United States' best bee breeders! Enjoy your own hammock at your cabin. Donate at farm stand. Wood is right off your bridge lining creek. YOU HAUL. We try to provide fire starters as well. WIFI: you may be able to catch it in the little lodge, NOT GUARANTEED. But you can at the nearby Lions Club/Church/or KFB RIGHT IN TOWN for free wifi. You can get it sitting at a sharp turn in the road before arriving at the address/walking the road. GYM: You can visit the Stanton Gym with a $7 day pass, just 8 minutes away for all your workout needs! PETS: ALL dogs welcome but must be contained on leash/lead (lead provided) at the site as we have free-range animals. We provide food and water bowl and a treat ;) BIRD WATCHING: Relax sitting just outside your cabin and enjoy the sounds and views of multiple types of Eastern birds we have! SURROUNDINGS/QUIET HOURS: we ask that visitors respect the after-hours quiet times from 10 pm-8 am. CHECK OUT: Our time is very valuable. If you fail to check out at 10 am, you will be charged an additional $50 late fee. MUST FOLLOW ALL MINIMAL CHECKOUT RULES or a fee of $75 may occur SAFETY: We take safety very seriously. Here are a few other things we provide in addition to the main door deadbolt and fire alarm. Fire extinguisher, loft railing, and a fire escape ladder for the loft window. Winter: You can almost always expect a white Christmas here, as we've had snow every Christmas since 2020! The creek is always beautiful in the winter, and the views of the mountains and sunrises/sunsets surrounding us are spectacular when all the leaves have dropped. The best view is from the Little Lodge main window (this is why we faced Little Lodge this direction!) Summer: We are heavily wooded and fully secluded, birds take over, and the creek gets moving nicely! Rains here are usually downpours, which are perfect for sitting by the creek to hear the sound of the creek running. The downpours make for the coziest day/night in! Spring: We have over 22 varieties of wild flowers that pop up in just our yard alone. It's so nice to watch everything come back to life! Fall: You may see persimmons and chives growing wild once you cross over the bridge. Feel free to enjoy! The fall colors are great at the end of October/early November. Usually our trees have lost all their leaves by mid-November. as Guest access You will have your own parking spot, bridge access, and trail to your lodge and lodge surrounding area. You are welcome to wade in the creek (at your own risk) but ask you to stay on the trail only due to nearby property lines. Other things to note !!!!!DIRECTIONS!!!! We live in the woods! GPS has a hard time finding us at times. So...take a left at the little church when you come to the fork. From there drive till the road ends ALL the way down at a yellow gate. DO NOT GO THROUGH THE YELLOW GATE OR YOU JUST PASSED US. Right before that you will see gravel spots to the left of a navy blue gate. Park on the gravel in spot 1 or 2. Note, trash can is right next to your spot for your trash when you leave. 1 VEHICLE ONLY! Let me know if you absolutely need to park 2 and I'll try my best to accommodate you. The inside features a well-appointed kitchenette, a full bathroom, and a memory foam queen-sized bed. The space It's a small space with plenty of room outside to stretch your legs. An ample deck and covered porch await, with a hot tub situated conveniently on the deck; a fire pit and charcoal grill is provided to help round out your stay! The bedroom features an adjustable queen-size bed with a wonderful memory foam mattress. The full-sized bathroom has a roomy shower rather than a tub. Guest access Guests have access to the entire place. When you're at the cabin, you have no neighbors to worry about. This is seclusion at it's finest and most convenient! Other things to note When I say secluded, I mean it. Why leave the city and drive hours to sleep in a cabin that sits right beside others? There is no shared space. No shared fire pit. No shared anything. The last two miles of the road into the cabin is one-lane and quiet - a perfect place for a leisurely stroll! The max pet limit is 2 and we ask that they be 40 pounds or less, unless cleared on a case by case basis. Pets may not be left alone in the cabin.
