Dog-Friendly Home This home is shared with three dogs—two English Labradors and one small hypoallergenic pup. While the home is thoroughly cleaned before every stay, dog hair is simply a part of life here. If you have ever owned a Labrador, you know they shed constantly! If you have pet allergies or are highly sensitive to pet hair, this property may not be the best fit for you. We want you to be comfortable and enjoy your stay. Sleeping Arrangements The home can accommodate up to 10 guests. Please note there are 4 bedrooms with Queen beds, with additional sleeping space available on several couches and a futon. Hot Water The home has a 50-gallon hot water tank, which provides plenty of hot water for most groups. However, if multiple guests shower simultaneously, hot water may become limited. Staggering showers will help ensure everyone has a comfortable experience. A Note About the Home This is my primary residence, not a hotel. I take tremendous pride in this home and personally clean it before every guest arrives. I don't hire a cleaning company—I handle everything myself, from sanitizing surfaces and washing linens to vacuuming, mopping, and preparing the home for your stay. The process typically takes me 12–16 hours. My goal is for every guest to walk into a clean, comfortable, and welcoming space. However, this is a lived-in home, and perfection is not always possible. Despite my best efforts, you may occasionally find a stray dog hair or notice the small imperfections that naturally come with a well-loved home. I also do not charge a cleaning fee because I believe in keeping things simple and guest-friendly. My checkout instructions are minimal because I want you to enjoy your vacation, not spend it doing chores. All I ask in return is that you treat the home with the same respect you would your own. Garage Access The garage is generally not included with your stay unless prior arrangements have been made and approved by the host before check-in. This space is used for personal storage and household items and is not typically available for guest use. I do not mind if you do need access, if i know ahead of time I can pivot to make it fit 2 cars, but for the most part it will accomadate one. I try to be as flexible as possible. If garage access is important for your stay, please reach out before booking and I will do my best to accommodate your request when possible. The driveway will fit 4 cars but even with 2 it’s a tight squeeze. Nature & Wildlife The property backs up to a wooded area. We have routine pest control service, but from time to time you may see an insect or other harmless outdoor visitor. It's simply part of living close to nature. Come experience this modern design sanctuary, recently remodeled and surrounded by fairy-tale forest. It's minutes from Highland Square and a quick drive to Cuyahoga National Park, Stan Hywett, Downtown Akron, Blossom Music Center, and more. Less than an hour from Cleveland’s world-class museums, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and Lake Erie. Cedarblock provides an inspiring retreat that’s close to convenient amenities but set in a charming and walkable neighborhood, fusing nature, style, and fun. The space The house does not have central AC. All bedrooms have individual stand-up window AC units. . Each room also has a ceiling fan. Two stand fans are also provided - these are located in the master bedroom cupboards. Guest access We may not be able to fully accommodate guests with mobility concerns. The home is a split level with staircases leading from the entry to the living area and from the living area to the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. The house is fully available for guest use with the exception of the closet and cabinets in the upstairs hallway. These are locked and for host use only. Other things to note A train runs a few blocks away on an irregular schedule. It tends to show up in the evening or very early morning, perhaps every other day. We don't find that it wakes us, but if it's a concern, complimentary earplugs are provided. Landscaping and leaf-blowing is very common in the neighborhood, especially in the spring and autumn. There is a low hanging tree limb over the right side of the driveway. Tall vehicles will want to stick to the left side of the drive. (It's a lovely Japanese maple that we really don't want to cut down!)

The dining area has a table with 6 chairs. The kitchen was recently renovated and features granite and wood countertops. The sunroom of the kitchen is a great place for morning coffee. Appliances include electric range, French door refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser in the door, dishwasher, and garbage disposal. There are many Small appliances including pod and ground coffee maker, toaster, instant pot, crock pot, blender, food processor, mixer, immersion blender mini waffle maker. The are many kitchen gadgets and pots and pans. It's a fully stocked kitchen that I used as my home for several years. There is one bathroom in the main floor with tiled jetted tub/shower, vanity sink and bidet toilet. A second bathroom is in the lower level with a walk in shower. The laundry is located in the second bathroom. There are two bedrooms in the main level,one with a queen bed, one with a full. Both have smart TV.
