We are only 5 miles from Road America, and about 17 miles from Whistling Straits golf course. We are also less than 15 minutes from Lakeland University. The space We have one queen bedroom on the main floor attached to a full bathroom, along with a sleeper sofa in the living room. The kitchen has full size appliances, 4 stolls at an island counter and a dining table. The 2nd floor has one king bed, one queen bed, one double bed and another bathroom. Outside is our family farm that we truley appreciate. You will have a deck with chairs to enjoy the country as well as prepare your favorite foods on the gas grill. The private pier is perfect for a dip, paddling or lounging by the water before basking in a luxurious sunset soak in the hot tub. Enjoy a stroll into the adorable town of Elkhart via the rustic lakefront path. With a chef’s kitchen and extensive amenities, it's perfect for a weekend or extended stay year round! We strive to be inclusive and welcoming 🏳️‍⚧️BLM🏳️‍🌈 The space The ground floor living room has a sleeper sofa and two love seats, Smart TV, and electric fireplace making it great for movies, a game night or fort building. We also have a hodgepodge of toys such as blocks, Mr/Ms. Potato Head, play-kitchen utensils, etc. On the main floor we have a large collection of puzzles and games, in addition to a library of books, including books for kiddos. There is a Smart TV with sound bar over the wood burning fireplace. There are separate thermostats for each floor, so the temperature can be customized to your liking. Please consider keeping the doors to the stairways closed for climate control, otherwise the top floor will lose its AC and the basement will be frigid. We have a reverse osmosis water filter in the kitchen for drinking water. (Tap water is completely safe, but all water on our Drive comes from wells and can have a slightly off taste) The outside dining table in the screen porch can seat up to 8 by adding an extra drop leaf (found in the main floor closet) and reconfiguring the seating. What look like side tables are actually stools. The dining table on the deck outside of the screened area seats 4. We do not allow use of our pier for guest motor boats due to safety and liability. Violation of this rule is grounds for immediate termination of rental without reimbursement. Guests are welcome to launch their boat for the day from the public access (still no parking or landing at our pier) and are responsible for following the rules of the lake. At the bottom of the steps to the lake before you get to the pier, there is a path along the lakeshore that goes into town. It’s not very wide, and it is very rustic (lots of roots and rocks, be sure to watch your step!). No parties, get togethers, or gatherings of any sort are permitted. The number of guests you list in your reservation is how many people you are allowed to have at the house during your stay. Our rental license is conditional on following the County Inspector’s regulations; they set the 8 guest limit, and since we’d like to continue to share our home, please help us respect the rules. The pier and screen porch are removed for the winter season, from October until the spring (often Memorial Day). We have a "Lily Pad" floating lounge mat, two paddle boards, a tandem kayak and a single kayak along with life vests and paddles, also available when the pier is in. The hybrid Alumi hot tub can be used year round. It allows us to maintain the temperature at 80 degrees and ready for you to warm up by adding wood to the fire. It fits up to eight people. Close the lid after use. No weapons of any kind are allowed on the property. This includes cars in the parking spaces. Guest access The entire house and the outdoor spaces, including the deck and pier, are at your disposal with the exception of a few locked closets. Each bedroom still has its own closet available for guest use. There is a double oven, microwave, dishwasher, and large refrigerator. 🍽☕️ There are 3 bedrooms: Bedroom #1 main level king bed, bedroom #2 a bunk bed located on the main level (twin on the top/ full bed on the bottom) & bedroom #3 a lower level king bed. Also in the lower level family room there are 2 full size memory foam sofa sleepers. Sheets, blankets and pillows for these beds are provided. 🛏 There are 2 full bathrooms- 1 on the main level & 1 in the lower level. Walk to downtown restaurants and attractions, the Osthoff Resort, the Throttlestop, and beautiful Elkhart Lake, all just blocks away. About one hour from Lambeau Field, Milwaukee, or EAA. The Finish Line is your home away from home. Guest access The entire first and second floor is available for your stay. The deck and patio has an outdoor table, Weber grill, charcoal and BBQ tools. The downstairs living room has a full size pull out couch, dart board, Pac-man game, board games, tv and also toys and books for kids. The house has a big private backyard with fire pit, basketball hoop, charcoal grill and corn hole! Large kitchen with all the appliances, utensils and dishes you need. There is an all season room that has a table for the adults and also one for the kids. That room can open on all sides so you can just sit there and enjoy the lake view and the Wisconsin air. We also supply all essentials such as coffee and tea, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, paper towels etc. Downstairs has a washer and dryer. Cozy up next to one of our 2 gas fireplaces that turn on with just a flip of a switch. Our cottage also has a detached 2 car garage. Very close to historic downtown Elkhart and downtown Plymouth. Kayaking and fishing can be done right out front using our dock. We have two Kayaks for use. You can also use the public boat ramp on the lake for any larger motorized boats which is less than half mile away. You can also swim just a short walk down the street. We have two inner tubes you can use in the lake to relax. House is on a hill overlooking the lake so there are about 55 steps to reach the front door so please be comfortable with that. We have a 25 dollar fee plus shipping or replacement cost if you take our keys home with you. If we need to rekey the locks it’s a 50 dollar fee. We have a 250 dollar cleaning fee for smoking inside the house. Guest access You have access to the whole property. There is a workshop house we ask you not to go in but it’s empty. Location & features Set along Crystal Lake with a private entrance and free parking on premises, the home blends elevated privacy with direct access to the water below. Wifi supports streaming or remote work, and long term stays allowed makes it suitable for extended visits. Exterior security cameras on property monitor the front entrance, driveway, back deck, yard, and dock. Smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, and fire extinguisher are also provided for added peace of mind. Here, winter brings stillness to the lake and warmth indoors - a setting made for fireside evenings, lake views, and quiet time together. Note: The hot tub is an amenity and while we will make every effort to insure a working and properly heated hot tub experience, this cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, we cannot offer cancellation or discounts should the hot tub or any other amenity not be in perfect working order. After requesting your reservation, you will receive a notification and link to complete our Rental Agreement, confirming the terms and conditions of your stay at Golden Hour Getaway, as well as the refundable security deposit, which you will be able to execute and set up digitally. Dock is NOT suitable for tying off a boat.
