The main floor has a living room with a queen sized pull out couch, kitchen, two bedrooms (one with a private entrance onto the deck) and a full bath. The upstairs bedroom has a sky light window, en-suite and small private balcony, and the lower level bedroom has a panoramic window, full bath and separate private entrance into the house. Our home is only 3.5mi from the nearest grocery store and one block from Bold Rock Cider. We are perfectly balanced in between eclectic Asheville and beautiful Pisgah National Forest, and only 6mi from Asheville Airport. *Photos show a gas stove, but it has been updated to a new electric stove. Guest access The entire space is yours. We do have locked cabinets in the garage that we use for supplies/storage. Other things to note Our home is three stories in height, with the main living area being on the middle floor and entry is located up both wooden and gravel stairs. While there is a bedroom with a private entrance on the lower level, it is off a gravel walkway and the only way to the main level from it is upstairs. Walk down from the deck and continue down the picturesque stone stairs and across the backyard into the side yard and you'll see the burbling waterfall feature and small pond as well as large stone fire pit there. We've provided chairs so you can sit back and relax to the sound of running water, the view of the mountains, and the heat of a warm fire. And we make sure there is always some stacked wood inside the shed that you are welcome to use! Although often forgotten about, the front porch is one of our favorite spots. With the view in the back, most people wouldn't think of sitting out front, but we'd recommend it! The wind passes through the trees in such a fantastic way, and this is the perfect place to enjoy it. Sit in one of four rocking Adirondack chairs or grab the hammock from the garage and set it up on the pre-hung carabiners on the trees on the island across the driveway. Please be sure to bring it back in after use to ensure it survives the elements. If you can tear yourself away from the comfort of home, there are some great spots to explore in the nearby area! There are parts of the road that are steep. Take your time going up and stick to around 10-15 mph; that way, if you see another car coming, one of the two of you can back into a driveway to let the other pass. Don't ever try to pull off the road into a ditch; always use driveways. Watch out for wildlife along the road, as well as the occasional fallen branch. *CLEANING* - Beyond selecting only the finest materials for furnishings and bedding, we make sure those items are sanitized and clean. I raised my 2 daughters here. My bedroom & bathroom is on the opposite side of the house from "The Green Room" ... I consider myself an "ambivert." I really enjoy my time alone for recharging, but I am also flexible and enjoy social interaction. I'm a Virgo/Leo cusp and, as you will see when coming here, I love aesthetics, being organized and clean. I am a creative in many ways. I love music, dancing, nature and working with the earth, and I also make most of my own personal products. I was a vegan for 18 yrs, but now I am a selective carnivore. I grow and eat organically. I have 2 lovely granddaughters now, and the oldest one, who's 11, may be here sometimes during your stay. She's an amazing soul. ***Please NOTE that this is a Tobacco & CHEMICAL-FREE home. I have chemical sensitivities, and use ALL-NATURAL PRODUCTS in the entire home. I will NEED you to refrain from using any strong, unnatural, personal products while staying here. This is crucial because I get bad migraines when in close proximity to chemicals of any sort & tobacco. (trust me it sucks!) I'm 4:20 friendly though :) ***please do note that I DO burn natural incense & sage at times in here. If those are irritants for you, let me know prior to your stay, and I will refrain. I typically burn sage in the room and house between guests. I am ok with you smoking tobacco outside. You will find an ashtray on the covered front porch. FRONT & BACK PORCH: The front porch is large, covered, and screened in. It has a sweet hanging nest egg, as well as gravity chairs and a little dining table & chairs. There are decorative curtain lights you can plug in at night for ambience. Enjoy! The back porch is large & south facing. There are sunny areas, and shady areas under the tree, where there's an outdoor dining table. I am utilizing some of this space for my organic container plants that I grew from seed. I have a gas grill out there as well. There are hanging outdoor lights you can plug in for ambience. Enjoy! AIR CONDITIONING & HEAT: *I keep the air conditioning around 73-74 degrees. There is a ceiling fan in your room, as well as a bedside fan in the closet in your room. *I keep the heat temp around 66 degrees. I have ample extra blankets in your bathroom closet if needed :) QUIET TIME: Before 9 AM and after 9PM is "Quiet Time", so please keep any kind of noise down to a minimum. Thanks! If I'm NOT here during your stay, then be as loud as you want at any time :D THE LOCATION & SURROUNDING AREAS: I call my property an eco friendly "little slice of heaven." It's in a small, quiet, country neighborhood surrounded by mountains and wildlife. LoveLight is located in the middle of the 3 beautiful, eclectic, and amazing mountain cities of this WNC area. A quick 10 minute drive gets you to the lovely, quaint, downtown Hendersonville area. And, the other wonderful towns of Asheville & Brevard are a 25 minute drive. The things you can do and see in these musical and artsy towns are countless!!! Go see some live music, and visit the many wineries, cideries, breweries, art exhibits, shops and amazing restaurants. There are also countless opportunities and adventures awaiting by visiting the gorgeous local forests (Pisgah/Dupont), parks, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, Blue Ridge Parkway, etc... where you can hike, bike, kayak, swim, fish, horseback ride, golf, and MORE! ...ALL within an easy 10-30 minute drive! THE "ECUSTA TRAIL": Only one (1) mile away is the exciting & upcoming paved, 12-14 feet wide trail accessible to bikers, runners, walkers, & skateboarders!!! Once completed, this trail will be 19.4 miles long. Starting in Hendersonville, NC and ending in Brevard, NC. This trails first 6 mile construction and completion from Hendersonville to Horse Shoe (1 mile away!) is stated to be done and ready to use by the end of June, 2025! Very soon!!! Many locals are already using it, even though it's not completely paved in all the areas for the 6 mile stretch. The incredible "Sierra Nevada Taproom" is a 17 min drive. "Bold Rock Hard Cider" is a 8 min drive. "Mills River Brewing Co." is a 8 min drive. There is a full bar here. We're 17 min from the AVL Airport! I will pick you up and bring you back if Im in town for a small fee. Let me know prior to your coming so arrangements can be made. Cozy, private room, full sized bed, separate entrance with convenient parking. There is a coffee maker, electric kettle, small fridge and microwave in the room. Shared bath. Two friendly dogs and a cat live in the home but are kept out of the Airbnb room. Occasionally I may have a foster dog too. Close to quaint downtown Hendersonville. Convenient to Asheville Airport, Biltmore House and Blue Ridge Parkway, numerous local breweries, downtown Asheville, Brevard and spectacular hiking. The space PLEASE NOTE: Please read ENTIRE description before booking. I am a HUGE animal lover and currently have a cat, a box turtle and 2 dogs of my own and 1 that lives upstairs but visits. They are all very friendly. I occasionally have a foster dog as well. If you're not comfortable with animals, this would not be a good fit for you as you will encounter them when accessing the bath or kitchen. If you are wanting to stay for a long-term stay, I only allow one person. I do not have self check in. Please let me know at the time of booking an approximate time you expect to check in. I work from home and am pretty flexible but if I’m with a client, I will be unavailable to check you in. Our house sits on a small 8 acre lake that is private to our neighborhood (32 homes). Beautiful big willow tree and peaceful energy. Great place to unwind and relax. There are multiple places to sit and enjoy the quiet- lake view patio, under the willow tree and right on the water's edge! The lake is private and most of the waterfront areas are private property. You’re welcome to be by the lake on my property but please don’t go onto the neighbors yards. The bed is full size with a memory foam mattress. All bedding and towels provided. There is a small laptop desk and chair in the room. Coffee maker and electric kettle in your room and your own private entrance. Parking is conveniently right outside the door. Room is very private as it is at the other side of the home from the family bedrooms and the shared bath. The interior BR door is an accordion type and doesn't have a lock. There is a small hallway outside the BR door with a door that leads into the rest of the home and to access the bathroom and kitchen. (Shown in photos) Your privacy is respected at all times. Our home is two apts, the room is on the lower level where my young adult son and I live. He works 12 hour days and you may never even see him! Other family members and their dog and inside only cats live upstairs. Occasionally, I may have a friend visiting and staying with me as well. Wifi access and use of the kitchen. The bathroom is shared with myself and my son(he has his own 1/2 bath in his room so only uses the shared bath for showering). We have 2 very friendly dogs and a cat but they are kept out of the Airbnb room. However, they will be in the common areas and love to say hello and get attention. They are very friendly, sometimes a little vocal, but if you are afraid of dogs or cats this might not be the best place for you to stay as they are in the common areas and you will have to meet them. My “granddog” who lives upstairs often comes down to visit as well. We also have a small, friendly 36 year old box turtle who roams the living area. You may never see her as she prefers to stay put and hidden most of the time. Downtown Hendersonville-7 miles Brevard 16 miles Asheville 22 miles Guest access Your stay includes the use of the kitchen and appliances-stove, toaster oven, and air fryer. Pots, pans, dishes, everything you need is there. You are welcome to use the spices and condiments. We provide coffee and tea upon check-in. Please clean up and wash your dishes/pans after use. There's a small table and chairs in the kitchen area, or you can enjoy your meal outside and enjoy the lake setting. My favorite "room" in the house is the patio, you are welcome to use it too. We also have chairs available for sitting lakeside or under the willow tree. We have a canoe you can use for fishing or a relaxing cruise (please let us know so we can get it ready) There are some instances where it may not be available(when maintenance is being done) If you bring your fishing gear, you can even catch a nice bass right from the yard! Fishing is catch and release. During your stay I work from home so am here most of the time. I love having interesting conversations and socializing with our guests if they so choose! Though I am available at any time to answer questions, or just converse if you're social folks, I will defer to your privacy unless you engage me. I can recommend good restaurants, places to visit, hiking, golf etc. If there's something you need, just ask! I have 2 dogs and a cat that share our home. They are inside but are kept out of the guest room during your stay. They are friendly and sometimes the dogs are a little vocal when people arrive. All that said, as a general rule we go out of our way to give you all the privacy we can. Ensuring your comfort and providing an environment where you can relax are high priorities for me. Other things to note It’s EXTREMELY helpful for me to know as soon as possible what time you expect to arrive. I do not have self check-in and therefore need to meet you when you arrive. I have a separate building for my office and work from home, but when with a client, I am unavailable for check-in. If I have an idea of when you expect to arrive, then I try to schedule appointments to not conflict with the timing of a check-in. I prefer to meet my guests to introduce them to the dogs etc. The sooner you know, the better for me, even if it’s just an estimate of the time. Thanks! Although I make an effort to always have my place neat and spotless, please keep in mind that we live here. Sometimes, Life gets busy and there may be dishes in the sink, or a “lived in” look!
