The space The Coal Miners Casa is a family-oriented retreat. *The history of this area is played out in the decor and authentic coal miner memorabilia. *You are 5 minutes to the major rafting companies in the area and 10 minutes to the New River Gorge National Park *The Game Room provides room for the kids and kids at heart to play and have fun. *Off of the game room is a Workstation area that has that mine kind of feel with a standing work station desk for remote working. *The kitchen comes fully stocked with all typical amenities including a coffee bar with flavored syrups, a starter set of K-cups and sweeteners. “The Coal Miner's Casa was the most comfortable, organized, intuitive, and thoughtfully decorated home we have visited. Each sleeping area includes a variety of pillows and clean, premium linens and sheets. ★ Bathrooms ★ This historic home features 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bathroom. One full bathroom is conveniently located to the 4 second story bedrooms. The second story bathroom includes 1 sink, 1 toilet and 1 cast iron clawfoot tub with a hand held shower. Linens and makeup cloths are provided in the adjacent hallway linen closet. There is also shampoo, conditioner and body wash available along with a provided hair dryer. The basement full bathroom is conveniently located to the basement sleeping area. It includes one sink, one toilet and one large newly remodeled walk in shower. It also includes shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Extra linens are available in the wall closets behind the sink. The half bathroom is located off the kitchen on the main floor. It includes one sink and one toilet. ★ Game Room ★ Exhausted from too much white water rafting or hiking? Plan to spend a day playing at home! Our game room is equipped with a ¾ size Ping Pong table and a wide variety of board games and puzzles to help pass your time away! Please note: The game room is equipped with central heat, but not A/C. There is an overhead ceiling fan as well as a standup fan located in the corner for your use in the game room. ★ Basement Laundry Room ★ Located in the basement off the sleeping area is a large laundry room equipped with a washer, dryer, and original cast iron sink. Please note that the laundry room is an unfinished space. It is located in the same space as the water heater, furnace and boiler system. There are also two locked off areas in the laundry room. The first is the owner’s closet that is used by the housekeeper and the garage storage room. Please do not tamper or mess with the water heater or furnace as well as the locks. We promise there is nothing exciting behind those doors! ★ Sunroom ★ This home has a quaint tea room set up on the adjacent sunroom to the kitchen. We offer WiFi and 2 Smart TVs to access all of your streaming needs. Central heating & air-conditioning controlled by a single digital thermostat located in the hallway leading to the bedrooms. For heat, the central system has a natural gas furnace that supplies warm air to a vent or vents in each room of the house. We do have a smart TV which you can log in to any of your personal streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, etc). The dining table is small but there are plenty of options (outside patios & bar seating) to accommodate everyone (please see pictures). We do have a grill but please bring/pick up your own charcoal. No pets allowed. You will need to supply your own firewood for use in our outdoor fire pit. We have a drip coffee maker with filters provided - please bring your own coffee. City ordinances require all vehicles park in the driveway. Check out is 11 AM. We have cleaners scheduled to come right at 11am. There will be a $75 late check out charge for guests checking out later than 11 am. We do NOT have a house generator in the case of a power outage. We do have battery operated lanterns in the house. IMPORTANT: We highly recommend trip insurance as we do not provide refunds outside of our cancellation policy. Our unique Treehouse and cabin getaway is five mins (not 50 min) from the New River Gorge bridge and National Park and Preserve, located close to the Long Point trailhead and Fayetteville. The New River gorge is full of activities like hiking, biking, climbing, whitewater rafting, fishing, birding and lots of outdoor fun. New this season fiber internet 🛜, new deck space, an additional cabin with outdoor dining, bar area, Blackstone grill, and a Hottub with a great view overlooking wolf creek. The space Very unique space recently upgraded with an amazing deck with outdoor bar and dining area, 36” Blackstone flattop grill connected cabin with its own bathroom, hottub, and great views of Wolf Creek. 10 minutes from the New River Gorge bridge, it is centrally located for most of the activities and dining in the area. The tree house has three bedrooms Tile bathroom, butcher block countertops, washer and dryer, gas range, small dishwasher, stocked kitchen, a mounted fingerboard for climbers, A/C and gas heaters in the bedrooms. The master bedroom has a really nice work desk in front of a window with a great view. I’ve tried to anticipate things that make your stay convenient and comfortable. Wi/fi is ok at 12 mb/s best we can do in this off the beaten path treehouse. Cell service isn’t great but improves outside on the deck. I hope you choose to try out this cool space I designed and built to compliment the natural beauty of WV. Note- Winter in Wv is often quite cold. The primary heat sources are propane wall heaters. We also have addition electric heaters in the bedroom bathroom and kitchen to augment the main heat sources. There are fire alarms carbon monoxide alarms, and fire extinguishers for your safety. If you have any specific questions about how this type of radiant heating works feel free to ask. Guest access Full access to the entire treehouse and the cabin attached to the deck. We live on property in the house below. We also own the area next to the creek and there are some nice shady areas to checkout. Across the road just upstream of our driveway next to one of the disk golf baskets there is a beautiful mossy rock next to the river that is quite tranquil. Other things to note New this season we have added an amazing deck with outdoor dining and a bar area. This connects the tree house to a new cabin that is included in your stay. Also new this year is high speed fiber internet! There are routers on both levels of the treehouse to provide full coverage of the entire space. The cabin has a small bathroom and shower, full size bed, Roku television, mini fridge and a Kurig coffee maker that also makes iced coffee. Nestled behind the cabin is a nice fire ring with a grill built in. Also to note. The loft bedroom does have a ladder that has to be used to access the bed.

Behind the house, there is a fire circle to enjoy a bonfire under the stars. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, large living room, four bedrooms and two bathrooms, sheets, blankets, towels. Please note, there is no TV, so if this is something that is important to you, understand that this house does not have a television. There is fast WiFi. Watch birds, including a nesting pair of hawks, and deer from the house or the porch, kick back and relax in one of the hammocks. Access 14 miles of prime single track as well as walk to climbing areas, a small creek, cascading waterfalls, historic sites and gorge overlooks without ever getting into your car. The location is half way between the put in and take out of the New River, so it is a great spot to stay if you are going on the river. Please note, the house is in the woods. Chances are, you will see insects occasionally in the house, especially if people don't remember to close the door all of the way. Outdoors, there will be quite a few insects, especially since I have planted plants specifically to attract pollinators which include bees, moths, butterflies, beetles, dragonflies. All of the insects are part of the vibrant environment surrounding the house. If you are an insectiphobe, or prefer a perfectly sterile environment, this house will not be a good fit for you. Children under age 5 don't need to be included in the guest total when you book. Kids love the house, as there is plenty of room to sprawl out. It's a very kid friendly place. Pleas note that there is an additional charge of $25 per person per night for each guest over four. Absolutely no parties. Please do not make it awkward for both of us. My house is on the grounds. I will know because I live next door. You will be asked to leave if you are having a party. Fayetteville is listed as a historic town. It is a cute little town with great restaurants, antique shops and a beautiful courthouse. Guest access Full kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. There is a compost bucket for any organic waste as there is not a disposal in the sink. Casatano is the perfect place to stay and relax after spending the day outside in the New River Gorge. Located in downtown Fayetteville, guests can walk five minutes to top-notch restaurants, shops, or the Gaines Estate venue space. The home is surrounded by a white picket fence, which allows children to play safely or pets to roam freely. The space will work perfectly for families and friends and the dedicated office space is ideal for remote workers. The space Casatano has been slowly and carefully renovated over the past 14 years. It was built in 1896 and still carries a lot of charm and character for an older Victorian house. Many updates have been made to accommodate the modern family. The kitchen and dining room were opened as one big space, which is perfect for gathering and dining together. The kitchen has all the appliances you will need to create delicious meals: french press, coffee grinder, double oven and stove, microwave, dishwasher, blender, pots, and pans. A washer and dryer are available for guest use as well. When you are in need of a good night's rest, retreat to one of the three bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom has wonderful natural light and when all the windows are open in the summer, guests will feel like they are outside enjoying the cool breeze and birds chirping in the morning. The two bedrooms upstairs are spacious and each come with their own unique style (there are window air-conditioning units in these rooms). The master bedroom offers a king-sized bed with a reading alcove. The third bedroom offers a full size bed and futon. The newly renovated bonus space downstairs includes a queen size pull out sofa. Linens are provided for each of these rooms. Guest access Guests can enter by getting the key from the lockbox near the front door. Other things to note There is no air conditioning on the main level. The downstairs bedroom can get hot during the peak summer months. There are fans located in the main rooms and fortunately, as an older home it tends to stay cool in the main level.

A large floor plan makes cooking and entertaining easy and fun in our kitchen and living room area! Guest access Guests are welcome to the entire house minus the basement and shed. Other things to note We have space for up to two vehicles on the left side of the house, the rest of the parking is free curbside in front of the house.
