The living room contains a fireplace that is perfect for the cold Tasmanian winters (and summers). Our favourite thing to do is light up the fire and kick back with a nice glass of wine. We also have a 55” Samsung 'The Frame' television, with most streaming services available via the high-speed internet. If 'switching off' is more your style, there are many board games to enjoy. A fully equipped kitchen/dining room is found adjacent to the living room, with French doors that open onto the balcony. An oven, air-fryer, conduction cooktop, dishwasher, and microwave are all provided. Dine on an 1870s Kauri pine table from the Barossa. Basic pantry essentials as well as coffee and tea are provided. Located centrally in Hobart’s CBD, Melville Heritage Cottage offers walking convenience to the local shops, cafes and restaurants together with free off street parking. Recently renovated inside, it is in keeping with the age of the cottage and includes: - Panel heating - Electric blankets - Free WiFi - NBN - Free Netflix access - Free Youtube access - 55 inch Samsung TV - Well equipped kitchen, together with the necessary staples to make you feel comfortable The space Two relatively large main bedrooms and a small single bedroom. The Yellow room has a Queen size bed, whilst the Green room has a Double size bed. The single bedroom, which is relatively small but cosy, has a Single bed. All rooms have heating and electric blankets. The house was built in the latter part of the 19th century with a couple of additions. Convict brick, lime and mortar. The walls are very thick and have been render plastered together with the ceilings again by myself. The lounge room and kitchen was a probable addition. Hence the step down and the sloping ceiling. The single bedroom, sunroom area and bathroom were once a verandah which was subsequently closed in. The shed complex outside were either servant and/or laundry facilities. There were more old structures behind the shed which have been dismantled, whilst the block used continue all the way down to the Bathurst St neighbour fence. I have owned the house since 1995. Park your car in the rear and stroll around Hobart’s city centre or it is just an easy 10-15 minute walk to the Salamanca waterfront area, the ferry to MONA, major conference venues, cafes/restaurants and much more. Ideal for holiday or business meetings. Free WiFi and onsite car parking. Sleeps 6 in deluxe comfort. Please note - for two guest only bookings, if a second room is required, an additional $30 per day will apply. The space Close to the CBD and waterfront area. Cafes, restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance. It's ideal for a couple or can easily accommodate up to 6 guests. Great as a cost effective option if you are in Hobart for a conference or for business ( the living/dining has plenty of space for meetings). There is designated off street parking included at the rear of the house. Enjoy a morning coffee on the patio or curl up with a book in the sunroom. The house has central heating and cooling, a heated towel rail in the bathroom and electric blankets on all beds. The kitchen is spacious and offers a dishwasher, microwave, full oven/stovetop and european style laundry. Basics e.g coffee, tea, some pantry staples included. Beds are wonderfully comfy and have high quality linens, doonas and pillows. Guest towels and amenities are provided. There are 3 bedrooms : bedroom 1 (upstairs)with a king bed, bedroom 2 ( ground floor ) with a queen bed and bedroom 3 ( upstairs)with 2 singles. A portable cot and high chair are provided and a stair gate can be fitted for guests with young children. The main bathroom is on the upper level next to the king and twin bedrooms however there is a toilet and wash basin on the ground level near the queen bedroom. Guest access Your key is available from a key safe so late check in is easy! Please note that we have exterior cameras at all entry points for security purposes. Other things to note As two of the bedrooms and the main bathroom are upstairs, the cottage is not suitable for guests with mobility issues. Whilst there is a front and rear patio, there is not a backyard/safe playing space for children Access to rear parking is via a narrow lane way that will fit medium/large family vehicles but is not suited to motor homes.
