Crane beach, the nicest in the northeast, is a 7.5 mile drive on back country roads with orchards, berry or apple picking, cider donuts, farm animals, historic homes, gorgeous vistas and ice cream along the way. Kayakers, store your boats right on our rocky beach. No need to drive anywhere. Paddle north up Plum Island Sound to the Merrimack River, east to Ipswich Bay and the Essex River. We’re on NOAA chart 13282, just about at the point of the 'v' in the legend "Eagle Hill River". As you can see in the exterior photo, there are steps from the parking area down to the house, creating privacy and quiet away from street level. There are further steps from the house down to the water. Also please note that there is a 3-rung ladder at the end of our stairs down to the rocky beach (see photo). The door locks on the inside, we have the key to the outside however it is finicky. Want to make sure you are aware of the fact that sometimes it is a challenge to lock that I need to show and explain. The space Large bedroom and a large bathroom - located in a private suite on the first floor of the house with a private entrance around the back. There is no kitchen access. The room has its own AC and heating with a queen size bed (top of the bed mattress is at 36" from the floor) and a small mini-fridge. There is a small seating area with a love seat and chair next to a wall mounted TV. Guest access Private entrance through the french doors located on the side of the house at the back patio. Please confirm you read the description of the door locking before reserving. Other things to note Owner lives in the house and will be available if you have questions. The space Our location is a quick hop, skip, and a ride from Boston Logan International airport (28 miles to be exact). Kippers has been fully renovated for the comfort of our guests. The downstairs consists of a wrap around fully furnished porch overlooking the water, spacious living area, family style dining table, laundry room, sun room, full bath, and an essentials fishing gear room. You'll find 2 bedrooms upstairs which we fondly refer to as "Pipers Nest" and "Bass Bunk" and a full bath (with a tub for sandy kiddos!). Pipers Nest has unobstructed stunning views of the water. Bass Bunk offers a little slice of heaven view as well. Piper’s Nest - Considered the "primary" bedroom, greet every morning with a smile. This beautifully decorated oasis overlooks the breathtaking views of Essex Bay hosting 2 comfy queens with an ocean breeze coming in from the cove. Before you retreat to your room, be sure to enjoy the breath taking sunset with company. The Bass Bunk - This cozy room has all the comforts of today while maintaining its historic charm featuring 2 comfy queens and a little slice of heaven view. Our home is quite accommodating in all seasons. During the prime summer months, 5 night min. The space Sunset Blush is a two story detached carriage house with a full kitchen, spacious living area on both floors, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a patio, outside sitting area and parking. The carriage house sits on 2 acres with the main house. The grounds are adorned with beautiful beach plum trees, apple trees, and bright rose hip bushes. Guest access Guests have full use of this entire carriage house, the patio, the yard and driveway parking. Other things to note Sunset Blush is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to the highest standards using high quality products before every reservation. All linens and towels are washed and disinfected before your stay. The cleaning crew takes pride in their work and pay special attention to cleaning and disinfecting all parts of the home including all knobs, switches, remotes and other areas often overlooked. This property is also equipped with an automatic emergency generator.

Three miles from beautiful downtown Newburyport; summer whale watches daily and a family friendly area. Off of the master bedroom is another small room with a single bed. There is also a full bathroom upstairs with bathtub, shower, washer, and dryer. For anyone with children, we offer a high chair, safety gate, a set of toddler dishes, and some books and toys. We allow pets with deposit. We ask that they stay off the beds. There is also a large back deck with eating area, grill, and a shared backyard. The location is very convenient as it is walkable to downtown Essex - restaurants, coffee spots, shipping building museum, ice cream shop, and small gift stores (one right across the street). There are a lot of wonderful activities in walking distance or a short drive away - several beaches very close by, lots of walking/hiking trails, kayaking and cruises available in Essex River, lots of antiques stores, a large flea market, the wonderful Appleton Farm is only a 5 minute drive away, and many other fun things to do and places to visit in the area! After booking, we provide a detailed welcome guide with lots of recommendations. 2 car parking in driveway. Boston is a 45 minute drive or an hour by train. Walk to the end of the street for a fantastic breakfast at Mad Martha's. Or stroll down to Lucy's for great coffee and baked goods. Enjoy a cocktail, fire pit, beach games and sunset views at The Sunset Club. The ice cream at The Cottage is excellent. The restaurants, shops and culture of downtown Newburyport are only a short 3 mile drive or bike ride away. During your stay be sure to visit the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge on the southern end of the island. It's nationally known for excellent birding, photography and wildlife observation.

Walk along Plum Island Beach or cycle around the city on our scenic rail trails. Downtown offers unique shops, fine dining, theatre, music and lots of maritime history. The space Our home has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and one 1/2 bath. Our kitchen opens up into a cozy sitting area with a gas fireplace. The living room features comfy leather couches and a 55 inch TV. Feel free to dine in our sunroom or take a rest on the cushioned bench which looks out over an expansive backyard perennial garden. PLEASE NOTE: We have an elderly cat that will need to be fed dry food twice daily. He is happy to snuggle but is also quite content to snooze the day away. Guest access is via lock and key. We spray as needed and do a good job keeping the cottage bug free but don’t be surprised to see some green head/flies, ants etc. Please never leave any doors or windows wide open, or food left out over night to help keep our place bug free!
