The space WHOLE HOUSE ALL TO YOURSELF! Comfort: All beds have 100% cotton sheets and 100% cotton blankets (duvets are microfiber). All sheets and blankets are white, do not trust vacation rentals without white bedding! Mattresses are all medium firm and fiberglass free. All beds feature luxury pillows. All bedrooms feature blackout curtains for a peaceful nights rest. House has two seperate HVAC systems with air conditioning and propane gas heat. Thermostats are controlled with ecobee thermostats. House is energy efficient with dual pane windows and quality insulation. Outdoor Grounds & Entertainment: Spread out and enjoy supreme privacy on the 9 acres. We have basketballs and footballs spread around the property. We have frisbee golf in the front yard. We have some some squirt guns available for the fountains. We have horseshoes on the hill behind the pool. We have a tennis/basketball court in D level conditions for casual non-competitive play which does require walking down a small hill. We have a couple croquet balls and some mini-golf behind the pool as well. Sit by the pool and see the San Diego hills. At night a part of the San Diego skyline is visible through the mountains. Cook with a propane grill and charcoal grill. We have two propane tanks available and ask that guests refill their own propane. Indoor Entertainment: We have 6 smart TVs, one in every bedroom! Enjoy HBO Max, Disney Plus, Paramount Plus, Netflix, and Hulu. A 1000W Bose Theater sound system is available in the family room, connected to the TV (please note local DB laws are enforced). Our game collection includes a foosball table, cornhole, and a variety of board games, including our favorite QuarKle. An AirPlay device called Mii Audio is attached to the stereo, so you can easily cast music from your Apple or Android phone. Wi-Fi: We have 100mb Starlink internet with Omada professional equipment with many access points around the whole property! Inside: Enter into a grand entry-way with cathedral ceilings. Stairs are directly ahead that lead to a loft with balcony and rolling hills views. The house has a split floorplan with two giant living rooms with a kitchen in between them, with a master bedroom on seperate wing and other downstairs bedrooms on a seperate wing. Bedrooms: An XL master bedroom, with a stand-alone jet tub and walk-in shower. Second bedroom is large as well, features a jack and jill bathroom with two showers leading to the third average sized bedroom. All bedrooms have king sized beds, some with "trundle" beds to handle extra guests. Two bedrooms feature sliding glass doors with entrance/exit to outside. Loft with private balcony and a palm tree hillside view serves as 4th bedroom. Note that some platforms count the living room as a 5th bedroom because we have beds available for it. Year-round pool and jacuzzi: We heat our massive saltwater pool with unobstructed hillside and city views in THREE DIFFERENT WAYS to get you the best pool experience possible! We have a solar heater, propane heater, and a solar pool cover. The pool is fully fenced. We have floaties and balls for fun by the pool. The pool is on the larger and deeper side with an enjoyable shallow end. April1-Sep30 pool heat is FREE from our aquathermal solar heater (weather dependent). Oct1-March30 propane heat is $299 for the first day and $129/day for each subsequent day. Propane heat is also available from April1-Sep30 and is $199 for the first day and $99/day for each subsequent day. Jacuzzi is free if your base daily rate is $300 or higher, else it is $49/day. Our solar blanket also heats the pool and this is free. Disclaimers: The property is huge and vast and we are continually maintaining it. As mentioned tennis court is in D condition (useable for casual play but not advisable for competitive play, concrete has some cracks). You are outside in the wilderness so it is natural to run into critters. We do continually landscape but 10 acres is impossible with the budget we have to keep all the weeds down, expect to see some weeds on the property. Our tiki bar by the pool is currently undergoing improvements. On your checkout day our exterior groundskeeping may start as early as 8:30 AM due to the size of the property we have to maintain. The hot tub can be split into two 4-hour warm periods. (Due to system setup, both water bodies cannot be heated at the same time – once the pool reaches the standard heating point, we will start the hot tub.) •	Custom Window: You may request a different 8-hour window, provided it ends by 12:00 AM (midnight). •	Extended Hours: Heating beyond the standard or custom 8-hour window is available for $20 per hour, but no later than 1:00 AM. •	How It Works: The heater is activated to reach the target temperature by the start of your scheduled window. Heating stops once the target temperature is reached and does not run continuously to maintain it against heat loss. The water is warm and ready for you to enjoy at the start of your scheduled time. Paid usage of laundry room for guests staying 2+ weeks In the event of an unauthorized amount of guests the client will be charged $200 per unauthorized guest per night. For unauthorized pets, the fee will amount to $500 per night. 3 bedroom 1 bathroom loft (2 separate sides) open concept guest house. Very peaceful East San Diego getaway. Enjoy beautiful ocean and Mountain Views during the day then relax in the jacuzzi with breath taking sunsets and the city lights at night. Best views in San Diego! Only 25 minutes from the SD airport and beaches. Minutes away from 2 local wineries and casinos. House sleeps 6 but you can invite guests up for the day for a fee. Event prices will be discussed per event. We live in main home The space Very quiet getaway. The views are amazing! Very close to everything but you feel far away once you are here. Rooms are cozy and have extra blankets located in the ottomans and extra pillows are in the closets. I have a queen air mattress that I can leave in the hall closet for you upon request if needed Guest access Guests have access to the whole home and their patio, the pool and jacuzzi. I will let you know how to operate the jacuzzi the day before arrival, Please don’t let kids play with Jacuzzi controls. The fire pit cannot be left unattended as we are located in a High fire area. NO GLASS by the pool or Jacuzzi. Other things to note The biggest thing is the pool and property are not fenced. So please if you have small children watch them closely especially if they can’t swim. No glass by the pool or jacuzzi. We are in the country so please excuse any bugs you might see. I do my best to keep things sprayed but they do live here too. If you bring your pets please don’t let them roam the property it is not fenced they need to be on a leash when outside. Dogs CANNOT be left to roam the inside of the home while you are away and we ask that they stay off of our furniture. Set atop its own private, secluded mountaintop, you will experience breathtaking 360 degree views of the valleys, mountains, sunsets, and wildlife. This home is a one-of-a-kind sanctuary for anyone looking to disconnect, enjoy nature, lounge in the hammock, reconnect with family and friends, or whatever restores you and brings you joy. A truly extraordinary experience! The space Your retreat will be completely private with no other guests; the whole mountaintop is yours! The lower level is a 550 square feet that includes a kitchen, sunroom patio, living room, dining room, bedroom with king bed and bathroom with shower. The second bedroom is 12 x 12 freestanding room located on the upper level next to the pool. It has a queen bed and sink. Both upper and lower levels of the house feature a split unit heating / air-conditioner. Lower level also has gas furnace. Enjoy the beautiful salt water lagoon pool and boulders that are literally the side walls of the pool. Many areas to lay out and soak up the sun. Also, the stairway leading to the upper bedroom and pool area is quite steep. It is not recommended for those who have trouble climbing stairs. The driveway is also very steep and with room for only one vehicle to park and be able to turn around. There is also the option of parking at the bottom of the driveway if you do not feel comfortable driving up. The house is 100% powered by solar energy and the water directly comes from a well that taps into a natural mountain aquifer. Spending time on top of the mountain is quite an extraordinary experience! :-) There is washing machine is located on upper level along with a mini dryer. The pool maintenance guy comes every Thursday afternoon. The pool is surrounded by trees and flowers so the wind can blow debris into the pool when the wind blows. Our solar blanket also heats the pool and this is free. Disclaimers: The property is huge and vast and we are continually maintaining it. As mentioned tennis court is in D condition (useable for casual play but not advisable for competitive play, concrete has some cracks). You are outside in the wilderness so it is natural to run into critters. We do continually landscape but 10 acres is impossible with the budget we have to keep all the weeds down, expect to see some weeds on the property. Come take a pause, relax poolside, pick citrus (when in season), enjoy nearby trails, and wineries. The sunsets and starry skies are breathtaking. The space The property is expansive and we invite you to explore the beautiful grounds, take in the views, and even meet our beloved white owls that look over the property. It's nestled among big boulders and preserved wildlife areas. You'll see many kinds of birds, cottontail rabbits, quails, or even a coyote! This casita shares the property with our main house in which we reside in full time. The grounds have ample space between the main house and casita creating a peaceful and private atmosphere. It's about a 30 minute drive into San Diego, and 15 minutes to a shopping area (Grocery store, movie theatre, Target, etc). There is a main bedroom with a king bed, and a sofa that can be a daybed if needed. The living room has a sofa that pulls out into queen bed. The layout works well for a 1-2 couples, or small families. *The pool is NOT heated.* The pool is not fully gated. We advise against letting kids roam the property without adult supervision. It is a black bottom pool. The black liner is an eco-friendly way to absorb heat from the sun warming the water. There is no heater in the pool, therefore it may be a "cold-dip" for parts of the year. We have strong reliable wi-fi through starlink, but phone service may be splotchy depending on your service provider. A perfect opportunity to unplug and relax! At the roundabout, in front of the container, (Note the road is not a through street and only you will be using the roundabout during your stay.) On the north side (right side), there is a dirt parking spot by the container. If you do not wish to park in a dirt area by the container, you may park closer to our house on the concrete or dirt pad. This may be useful if there is a lot of rain and you do not have a front wheel or four wheel drive vehicle. *Please message us for this option and we can physically show you where to park. FOOD & DRINK We ask that you do not leave any food or drink outdoors when you are not present. Please do not feed the pig (Willie), chickens or dogs (Sage & Shadow) without permission. We can arrange animal meet and greets and provide snacks to feed them. Please message Monica if you would like to do so. SMOKING AREAS & OUTSIDE BURNING Absolutely NO SMOKING indoors Please smoke outside only and please be very mindful of wind and our dry weather especially during summer and fall. Fires can start very quickly in our area, so please be sure to add water to your disposal of any butts. Cigarette butts must be thrown away immediately (not left around or discarded on the ground - please be mindful of the environment). No outside burning without permission. *Fire Pit can be used upon asking Monica & Justin (not during hot weather). We can furnish you with one bundle of wood upon request. This will MELT the sink. There are hot pads in the drawers to use. Water filter at the sink is reverse osmosis and alkaline. Water and ice dispenser on the outside of the freezer are currently not hooked up. There is ice in the freezer in a bag for you to use if needed. If more ice is needed please message hosts. (Make your own) Ice trays provided in freezer or cabinet. Guest access The entire Airbnb is yours and land around the Airbnb is for you to use. The property is 2 acres fenced. Our home is located on the property, but on the other end of the property that the Airbnb is on. We share the land, but the distance keeps everything still private and remote feeling, especially with the nature preserve to your West. Other things to note Here is some important information: When staying at the Free Spirit, you are officially in Jamul, California country. You are in the country and nature surround you. The Free spirit is for nature lovers and people that understand what staying in nature entails. Aside from the peace and quiet and star gazing, you will see nature alive and may hear wild animals at night, like coyotes howling in the canyon, or occasional dogs barking in the distance. When the weather is hot (Mid June to Late October), new creatures may present themselves. We do not see many snakes, but snakes live in the mountains, and do sometimes come onto our property. Rattlesnakes are the only snakes to be concerned with. If you come across a snake please move slowly away (snake freeze (you stop moving) and slowly walk backwards away from the snake) and let us know right away. We will come to remove the snake. Do not try to touch, remove or move the snake yourself. Additionally with the warm weather, because we are in the land of dirt, some insects and ants come out as well searching for food and water. Please be mindful to clean up all crumbs and do not leave food out on counters for long periods of times so you do not welcome these uninvited visitors. We have spray (that works fast, see below) & / or TERRO ant bait under the kitchen sink cabinet if you would like to put it out. Generally Terro will welcome lots of ants, but then within 12 hours or so they will go away. We do a nature friendly spray under the container and around container premises. We can spray inside an eco - friendly spray, but only do this on request and we find that keeping things clean usually does the trick during the hot months. Please understand you are in nature glamping and while we are doing our best to control them, spider webs included, they still do come around in warm weather. Lastly, when not at the container house, please make sure all heaters, the AC unit and inside lights are OFF. There are two outside lights to leave on (if you want) when you leave for returning in the evening. These are: 1) Outside door light - Light switch by main side door, on inside wall by washing machine. 2) Recessed outside lights in front of the container facing EAST - This switch is by the kitchen sink, behind the coffee maker. There are also two exterior lights that face the canyon for you to enjoy if needed in evenings.

The space There is enormous potential on the property - lots of room to walk around and explore, huge granite boulders great for sitting, reading a book, naps and picnics. View is outstanding - on a clear day you can see the ocean and Coronado island. We also have an extra large yoga deck, great for sunrise and sunset practices.... as well as hammock chairs and seating areas at key vistas. Feeling like a little exploration? Try a morning hike, then treat yourself to local tacos in Dulzura (served on weekends only). Continue the adventure with a visit to our local wineries, and wrap up the evening at home in the hot tub, soaking in the sunset. Guest access We've designed the property layout to support ample privacy with the option of connection as desired. Alongside our family home we have two rental units spread across our 30 acres. It has been completely remodeled and has the perfect country vibe! This is a place to relax and feel at home. We are just a few miles from downtown Alpine where you will find plenty of cute little shops, coffee houses, and local restaurants. We'd love to host your family, as well as small events and gatherings. Our micro-farm enjoys a 180 degree view of the Cleveland National Forest. It boasts beautiful mountainside and high desert landscape. It’s quiet and peaceful and provides our guests the opportunity to get away from the bustle of the city, enjoy the countryside but also be close enough to all that San Diego has to offer! We also recently added a few new residents to our little micro-farm! Our Nigerian dwarf goats, Huckle-Barry (or just Barry!), Princess and Chewy. The downstairs bedroom is a bunkroom with a twin bunk bed, a trundle and a nursery area with a crib and a rocking chair. We have an open living room with the perfect napping sofa and a Smart TV where you can enjoy Hula, Netflix, Disney plus, and most streaming services. The open kitchen features all updated appliances including a microwave, coffee pot, tea kettle, stove and oven, refrigerator, and baking supplies. We do not have a dishwasher, but a dryer rack and dish soap are provided. Dedicated laundry room equipped with a full-size washer & dryer, laundry supplies, iron and ironing board. Our guest house has a fully fenced yard and private driveway that can fit at least 2 cars. We also have a propane fire-pit and seating area to enjoy the stars away from the city lights. A spacious yoga deck sits at one of our favorite vistas—ideal for sunrise stretches, sunset meditations, or simply sitting in stillness. We’ve also tucked hammock chairs and seating areas around the land to help you sink in and stay awhile. Our 30 acres are divided between two connected properties: a 10-acre and a 20-acre parcel with a fence line between them. The Avion Caravan sits on the more secluded 10-acre side, as the only structure there. You’ll have private use of the immediate space around it, including your own outdoor kitchen, dining area, hot tub, and patio with a “beach” vibe—think sand underfoot, fairy lights, and starry skies. Some areas of the land are shared with our family and guests of the nearby guest house. These include the larger open fields, the yoga deck, and the trail systems into the canyon. That said, we’ve designed the property to offer privacy and presence—there’s ample room to be completely on your own or to connect, depending on what you’re in the mood for. Guest access You’ll have full private access to the Avion trailer and the outdoor space around it—including your patio, outdoor kitchen, hot tub, and sandy lounging area. Shared areas include the yoga deck, trails into the canyon, and wide-open spaces across the property. Other things to note Our 1985 Avion trailer is lovingly restored and well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Rustic- leave your work behind, no wireless or TV The space The cabin has a dedicated acre of nature space, laced with sprawling live and white oak trees with native chaparral including sage and manzanita. Massive granite rock outcroppings hug the rolling terrain. Lyons Peak sits majestically to the west. The main house is on the property but separate. Quail, owls, ravens, hawks, coyotes, fox, deer, bob cats and an occasional mountain lion have been spotted on the adjacent 10 acres. After heavy rains a seasonal spring bubbles up near by. The owners have preserved a bramble of dense chaparral that provides a protective, natural canopy for wild life. Guest access Feel free to enjoy the property. There is plenty of free parking. A wonderful local massage therapist lives near by. Massages may be available by appointment, subject to availability. Fire wood is provided. Other things to note Cell service is iffy in this area depending on your carrier. ATT phone reception is fairly dependable . There is no TV or internet. The bath cottage is detached about 17 steps from the cabin. Honey Springs Road is extremely popular for cycling events. Please drive carefully and use caution when driving on our scenic, winding roads. There are several local wineries in Jamul and Dulzura to be enjoyed, one is walking distance. A map will be provided to you. There are beautiful walking trails on Honey Springs Road’s Hollenbeck Canyon; I understand permits may be required. There are additional walking and biking trails between Jamul and Descanso but be prepared to drive to them. The closest shopping is a small convenience store in Lyons Valley; it carries some groceries, wine and beer and is about 9 miles away. There are several small restaurants in Jamul which is a 20 minute drive to the “west” also the closest location for fuel. The Descanso Junction serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a 25 minute drive “north” which BTW is about half way to Julian. Because of the remoteness of stores and restaurants to the cabin, it is a good idea to come prepared with the food and drinks you would like to enjoy. A barbecue is available for grilling if you like.
