Built in 1789 for the Dexter family, this historic house is a landmark located in the waterfront town of Mattapoisett, Mass. You will enjoy the immensely large yard, spacious kitchen and living areas and the short walk to Harbor beach, just like our family has for well over 80 years. The space This is our families personal home and we continue to reside in this home. It is our hope that you are comfortable lodging around the many family photos and artifacts without tampering with them. It is a remodeled older home perfect for a family or multiple families or even a group of friends who will enjoy a clean, well-furnished space for vacation or small gatherings. Guests may occasionally hear nighttime sounds from wildlife, wind, or the natural outdoor environment, especially during late evening and early morning hours. While this is a normal part of the area’s charm, we want guests to be aware in advance if they are sensitive to outdoor or nature-related sounds. We have never experienced or received reports of any safety issues at the property, and the area is considered very safe and peaceful for guests and families.

Mattapoisett and its sister town — Marion — will remind you of the way Cape Cod used to be. With just a few traffic lights and no rush-hour traffic, you can RELAX. GETTING TO THE BEACH: The closest beach is straight down Island Street. That’s the boat launch area and a nice place to park a beach chair or to launch a kayak. The main swimming beach is back along Angelica. Walk down Beach Street, Union Avenue or Silvershell. The Crescent Beach Association puts in swim lines and a swim dock. There are no lifeguards — please swim at your own risk. Never leave children unattended at the beach, and always swim with a buddy. When you’re feeling energetic, there’s a ton of fun things to do: Here's a short list: - Go beach combing and swimming in the warm waters of Crescent Beach. There's a huge float you can swim to; - Play golf or take the kids to play miniature golf nearby; - Visit the exciting WaterWizz water park in East Wareham; - Take a hike! Our beach house is surrounded by conservation land, and there are two trailheads nearby. You can find lots of other trails nearby, too. - Walk or bike the new path at Shining Tides Beach, which crosses a scenic salt marsh on Eel Pond. - Go cycling on the bike path to Fairhaven; there are beautiful bike paths along the Cape Cod Canal and in Falmouth, too. - Explore the many antiques shops throughout Southern New England. - Visit the Mattapoisett Museum or the Whaling Museum in New Bedford. - Watch the sun set over Ned's Point Lighthouse. It's Mattapoisett's most famous landmark. - Take a photo with Salty the Seahorse. - Visit the famous mansions in Newport, R.I. As featured on Staycation (Cape Cod, Episode 1), this 3,300 sq ft beach house is tucked on a quiet dead-end street, just a 7-minute walk to Silvershell Beach and 20 minutes to the town center. A refined yet welcoming family retreat, it’s thoughtfully furnished and fully equipped for children, with a playroom, curated toys, and books. Amenities include mini-split A/C, washer/dryer, outdoor shower, and a beautifully renovated lower level for kids. The space *No shoes allowed inside the house. Please make sure everyone in your group can respect this rule before booking :) The upstairs part of our home includes 4 bedrooms and 2 fulll baths. There is a primary suite and 3 additional bedrooms. Two king beds, one queen bed, and a larger room with two double beds. There is an infrared sauna in the primary bedroom which guests are welcome to use. Downstairs we have a powder room, open kitchen/dining space, formal living room, playroom, and a den off the kitchen (tv is here). There is only one tv in the house. Outside you will find a front deck, backyard patio with fire pit, and an outdoor shower. Additionally, the basement contains a laundry room with the washer/dryer. We have two small kids and use non-toxic cleaning products whenever possible and do not allow shoes in the house. All of the mattresses are new and non-toxic and/or organic. The bed linens are also all top quality. We are located on a dead-end street. Silvershell beach is a 2 min drive or 8 minute walk away. Our kids love biking in our long driveway and to the end of the street and back. The house is about .7 mile to town center, where you can find a coffee shop, restaurant, general store, and a few other local stores. It's a very quaint town! We love our space and think it is very special and hope to share it with others :)

This was an outbuilding that was renovated into a small guest house. The property is next to our main residence and serves as extra space for our small farm animals. The listing has a loft area for extra sleeping. This space was design for the Airbnb community as we had a great experience with our other listing. The Main house on the property is home to year-round renter and the tenants will not be able to provide any help. All contact shall be made via the airbnb site for any assistance. The space There are fresh linen provided as well as an extra set. The kitchen does NOT have a stove or oven but does include a fridge, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, and a hot plate. The kitchen is stocked with pot and pans a set of dishes and the basic kitchen utensils. The apartment is less than a mile from town beach and beautiful Marion Village. There is a small deck in which guest can enjoy a cocktail and a smoke in a lazy summer evening. Guest access Guest will be able to park directly in front of the entrance door. They will have access to the apartment and the side and back yard area. They also my use the grill and fire pit in the back. Other things to note We do have dogs on the property. Pack a picnic lunch and head over to Ned's Point or Aucoot Beach, both places have a few picnic tables and wow what a view! The house is equipped with beach towels and beach chairs. Also be sure to walk, run, or bike the "Mattapoisett Rail Trail" which is paved yet also has wooden decking over the coastal marshes. Want to spend some time outdoors at the house, our backyard has a patio area with dining table and chairs as well as more relaxing Adirondack chairs. THE AREA We are located a few minutes off of Rte 195 A close 35 minute drive to Providence and 15 minutes to New Bedford. Boston is an hour drive and Cape Cod’s Bourne Bridge is 20 minutes away. Visiting Tabor Academy - our house is 10 minutes from the campus. **WEEKLY DISCOUNT** Staying just 4, 5 or 6 Days? There is a boat yard a little bit down the road and in the Spring & Fall you will see large boats going by which is a unique experience! We also live in a right to farm community so you may occasionally hear chickens singing. The landscaping company will be on the property to mow the lawn once/week. They are very fast and spend a max of 15 minutes or less on the property. Someone will be by to bring the trash and recycle barrels to the street on Wednesday evenings as well as Thursday to bring them back in.

We just added a new Queen hybrid mattress with memory foam topper. There is in addition 1 twin bed, a private full bathroom, a separate sitting area, and a small but well stocked kitchenette. There are 2 smart TV's - one in the bedroom & one in the sitting area. The space We live on a quiet street a short walk away from a beautiful local beach. The spaces sport a changing array of local art - paintings, photography, and pottery. I enjoy speaking with my guests about the artists. The space is just a 5 minute walk to the town beach and a 20-25 minute walk to the village and public library. I enjoy meeting new visitors and I am happy to share some local knowledge about the area. I am also respectful of my guests privacy and use texts and or email to communicate as well. The Hideaway

Guests have access to the local beach and a short walk to Marion Village. In the village there is a General Store, Post Office, Liquor Store and the Historical Society Building which is open to the public on certain days. A short walk from the village is the Elizabeth Taber Library and The Natural History Musem which is also open to the public. It is often quiet in the neighborhood with beautiful water views of the local beach. A full moon is one of the highlights. The space The property is located at the end of the Cove Street just before a cul-de-sac. There is a short walk along a private pathway to the local beach. The room has a private entrance with sliding glass doors and water views. A small deck and outside shower that is available for guests use during the warmer months. There is a queen size bed, large closet, TV, WIFI, small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and dishware. Guests will need to climb a few stairs to the main floor to access the full shared bathroom. A walk-through reading room with a desk is also available for guests use.
