Grab a fleece blanket, your morning cup, and cozy up on the couches on the large covered front porch as the sun lights up the Tatoosh. A propane BBQ with additional patio seating are waiting on the wrap-around deck for dining alfresco. You will never need to worry about forgetting essentials in our graciously stocked kitchen where you'll find a variety of oils and spices for your use. We take pride in our quality bedding to ensure a restful night's sleep. The main floor bedroom boasts a beautiful king bed that attaches to the bathroom. On the second story, you'll find the queen room tucked away in a quiet corner with plenty of privacy. The upstairs loft is a great escape for kids and adults alike to unwind. The loft is furnished with 2 comfy twin beds, a smart tv, couch area, and playful touches all around. There is a shared bathroom on the second level with a large, jetted tub, perfect for a long soak after a day of adventure. Guest access ~You will have access to the entire cabin, minus a locked storage closet reserved for the hosts. ~There is room in the driveway for 2 vehicles Other things to note ~To access the front door, our guests have to climb a flight of stairs that can be slippery in freezing weather. We have provided deicer for such occasions. Get a relaxing soak in the hot tub . Located 30-45 min from Mt. Rainier- The Rivers Chalet is the best in its class for amenities in the area. If you have an additional small one or two and it goes over the 6 person limit. there is an extra "Harry Potter" spot in a closet with a mattress, bed sheets and pillows. The space The Rivers Chalet offers a well outfitted kitchen. Show off your cooking talents. Enjoy the ambiance, oak floors, eclectic furniture (vintage mid century, rustic, antique, modern comfort...). Two gas fireplaces, heat pump with cooling and other heat sources to keep your stay cozy. Take advantage of the music room featuring a 1939 baby grand, percussion instruments to bang and strings to plunk. Have a family movie night by accessing Netflix on the Amazon Firestick and cozying in to the big soft sofas. Read a book from our book shelf collection. Also, many fun games available. The back yard has over 1200 square feet of porch area to lounge about including a top of the line Jacuzzi hot tub (Hot tub is shared with the Rivers Cottage). BBQ is propane grill. Create something unique in the separate Art Studio- river rocks are fun to paint! Bring your briefcase and work away- the wifi works great. Take a stroll on the trails out back and walk all day if you want in the beautiful Tatoosh Wilderness. Take your cup of coffee across the street to the River Access Trail and breathe in the beauty. Head up to White Pass in the winter to get a great day of skiing in. Head up to Mt. Rainier and fill your heart with wonder over one of the most beautiful places in the Nation. 35 minutes from White Pass Ski area and a half an hour from the Mt. Rainier Stevens Canyon Entrance. Guest access Guests have all access to the Chalet, patios and yard with exception to a couple of locked doors that are specific to supplies. Plenty of parking in the curved driveway. The back cottage is not part of the access unless additionally booked. There are no stairs to the ground level. Other things to note There is currently no bathtub in the Rivers Chalet. We are a short walk to Cowlitz River access, and a short drive to White Pass, Mount Rainier National Park, and just moments from town! A portion of every stay is donated to a PNW-based no-kill animal rescue organization. The space This charming cabin boasts a range of features, including a large front deck, fire pit, three cozy bedrooms, a fun and fully-equipped kitchen, two full bathrooms (one with a large soaking tub), wood stove, Blackstone gas grill, high-speed WiFi, and smart TVs. With easy access to local trails, Mount Rainier National Park, White Pass for skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing- you’ll have everything you need to enjoy the great outdoors. Our cabin is a short drive to the center of Packwood, approximately a 20 minute drive from multiple entrances to Mt. Rainier National Park, and only 30 minutes from White Pass Ski Area. On a clear night, we have an incredible view of the sky and often the Milky Way! Dottie's comfortably sleeps up to six. Each bedroom features Early Bird mattresses, high-thread-count 100% cotton sheets, and mixtures of cotton quilts, wool throws, and plush blankets. Because we value comfort, we've also provided throws around the cabin and extra pillows, because what's better than a cozy rainy morning? The well-equipped kitchen includes everything you need for a warm cup of morning coffee or tea: electric gooseneck kettle, whole bean coffee, an assortment of teas, sugars, honey/agave, and our very own Dottie's Basecamp coffee mugs. All of the amenities you could ask for in your getaway are included: oven, microwave, toaster oven, air fryer, dishwasher, a small cookbook collection, essential cooking spices, and many kitchen necessities to prepare and enjoy a nice meal. Entertainment options abound, with a large Roku smart TV offering access to Netflix, Hulu, and more (guests will need to use their own accounts to sign in). Board games, cribbage, cards, puzzles, and a curated library featuring Rainier and dog-friendly hiking guides, a few outdoor classics, and a small collection of fun murder mysteries featuring adventurous cats, and other treasures are also provided! Also, please enjoy our recent addition -- an Arcade Machine featuring dozens of classic titles! We provide chargers, luggage racks, and closet space. We have a Blu-Ray/DVD player and a selection of DVDs. We ask that you lay out the blankets provided if your pup will be on the furniture, and request that you wipe off muddy dog paws with the provided towels at the front door. Please pick up after your pups in the yard. We welcome your housetrained, spayed/neutered, and well-behaved pets. We ask that puppies or dogs that are not housetrained not visit our space. Guest access The entire property (save for a few closets of cleaning supplies and owner essentials) are available to access. The cabin is located on an open 1/2 acre lot with plenty of room for you (and your dog) to enjoy. We ask that you please not leave your pet inside or outside unattended. Other things to note We welcome your housetrained, spayed/neutered, and well-behaved pets. We ask that puppies or dogs that are not housetrained refrain from visiting our space. Damage caused by pets will result in damage fees. Any pets not disclosed at time of booking will result in a charge. Please bring your own firewood to use in the wood-burning stove or in the outdoor fire pit. There are many places in town where you can purchase all of the firewood you could ever need. Guests MUST ensure fire is fully extinguished before leaving it unattended. This is a non-negotiable. There is a 5 gallon bucket by the water source to assist with this. Any non-extinguished fires will result in a fine. Please be mindful of the season. In the summer, burn bans may be in effect. To check on the status of potential burn bans, please visit the Lewis County website, SW Clean Air website, and/or DNR Burn Restrictions websites. In the winter, the roads may be snow-filled and our driveway may not yet be shoveled, so we recommend planning for snow navigation if traveling to Packwood November - March. The weather can also impact any backcountry plans you may have, so please double check weather patterns before heading out. While the wi-fi is blazing fast, cell service can be spotty with certain carriers, so we recommend bringing a hard copy or taking screenshots of directions just in case. We use Verizon and have pretty good service to the cabin. In extreme weather conditions, you may experience short power outages: one of the cons of living in a heavily wooded area. If this does occur, we have an emergency kit provided that includes candles, flashlights, etc. Forget something? We have a spare hiking pack, dog leashes, and dog waste bags to use while you stay at Dottie's. We welcome well-behaved and housebroken dogs. We ask that you are mindful of dog hair left behind and we provide a stick vacuum and lint rollers to help. This helps us keep our cleaning fee low and provides a great experience for all future guests. We do charge a reasonable pet fee. Please let us know at the time of booking that you intend to bring your pet with you so the fee can be included. **Please note that any undisclosed pets will result in a $200 fee. Security cameras (exterior only) are in place to ensure guest safety and overall security. These are not actively monitored during your stay unless an issue arises, but may be referenced to confirm guest count. There are no interior cameras. Mount Rainier and White Pass are close by and offer bountiful recreation. In fact, the Ohanapecosh Visitor Center is just 25 minutes away, and White Pass Resort 33. Das Waldhaus is a relaxing home base for these adventures and so many more Pacific Northwest treasures. We vacation at Das Waldhaus frequently with our family and friends. As a result, we keep it stocked for cooking, relaxing, and having fun. While modestly-sized, the kitchen is well-equipped with dishware, tools, small appliances, cookware, and basic cooking/baking supplies, as well as coffee and tea. A crackling wood fire in the living room will lure you to settle in for a cozy evening of board games, cards, or puzzles. Or, peruse the hiking books and maps or birdwatching guides to plan the next day’s adventure. The backyard is one of the property’s highlights, and we hope you’ll enjoy all it offers. With wilderness at the edge of the yard, it is a lush, forested space, perfect for relaxing with family and friends, enjoying a good book, or watching for wildlife. Soothe your aching muscles in the hot tub after crushing it on the slopes or conquering trails. You'll find plenty of spa towels in the laundry room above the dryer. Don't forget your swimsuit and flip-flops! If you love grilling up a good meal and eating outside, we provide all the necessary equipment: a gas BBQ, grilling utensils, and a handmade picnic table that's been in the family for decades. Enjoy the mesmerizing glow of a campfire in the backyard firepit. Plenty of chairs are provided for families to gather around the fire and make s’mores, tell stories, and sip hot cocoa. Guest access A paved road leads to our gravel driveway, which accommodates up to four cars. Das Waldhaus offers self check-in. You may arrive anytime after 4 pm and access the house via a coded keypad. Other things to note To secure your dates, we require a signed rental agreement and $500 security deposit via credit hold authorization, both allowed by Airbnb due to API-connected software. If you have questions about this, please message us before booking. You will receive the link to do this 21 days prior to your stay. If booking fewer than 14 days prior to arrival, the agreement and deposit hold are due within 12 hours of booking. Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, Packwood hosts the Pacific Northwest's largest flea markets. The multi-day event attracts hundreds of vendors along with large crowds of shoppers. Visitors can browse an assortment of food, antiques, novelties, handcrafted artisan gifts, upcycled items, art, and more.

Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway or an adventurous retreat, our A-Frame cabin is the ideal home base for your Packwood vacation. * Please note, we are located in a neighborhood setting and this is not an "off grid" or secluded cabin. The space Step inside and be captivated by the warm ambiance and clean design of our A-Frame cabin. With its soaring ceilings and large windows, the cabin is flooded with natural light and offers peekaboo views of Butter Peak and the Tatoosh Range. The open-concept layout seamlessly blends the living, dining, and kitchen areas, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The cabin is equipped with heating and air conditioning to ensure your comfort year-round. We are about 10 minutes from downtown Packwood, 25-30 minutes from White Pass Ski Resort, and 25 minutes to the Steven's Canyon entrance of Mount Rainier National Park (open seasonally). The cabin features: - Dedicated Bedrooms: Two private king bedrooms are located on the first floor and a third queen bedroom (open to the loft) is located upstairs. Each room features medium-plush mattresses and cotton bedding, offering tranquil, private spaces to unwind and recharge. **Note: Both king bedrooms have limited storage space for suitcases / luggage, so if possible, I recommend using a duffle / weekender so you can store it under the bed or in the closet. - Living Area: The main level boasts a living area complete with a plush sofa, accent chairs, cozy blankets, and a smart TV so you can connect to your favorite streaming services. Please note, we do not have cable or an antenna, however the tv has Samsung TV Plus with some live TV channels, movies, and shows on demand. - Loft Area: The upstairs level has a second cozy gathering space complete with a dedicated workspace with 23” monitor, sofa, armchair, and an array of games for all ages. Curl up by the bioethanol-burning fireplace (bottle of fuel provided) on an evening in or enjoy a game night with your loved one(s). - Kitchen: The fully equipped kitchen features modern appliances, including a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave / air fryer combo, toaster oven, and coffee maker as well as basic staples like oil, salt, pepper, spices, flour, sugar, coffee, and powdered creamer that you are welcome to use during your stay. Enjoy coffee as much as we do? We offer a Ninja Specialty coffee maker, pour over, and a French press for you to choose from. We provide ground coffee, but if you rather bring your own beans we have an electric burr grinder available. - Bathrooms: The bathroom downstairs includes a tub and shower while upstairs has a walk-in shower. Both bathrooms will feel like a spa experience with the plush towels, robes, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, aromatherapy body wash, and gentle face wash. - Outdoor Space: Step outside onto the spacious deck and breathe in the fresh mountain air. Sip your morning coffee or enjoy an evening glass of wine as you soak in the surroundings while enjoying the propane fire pit on the deck. Just off the deck there is a gas grill and (seasonal) outdoor dining area. Bring some sandals, grab your robe, and meander over to the hot tub for the ultimate relaxation, or gather your loved ones and toast some s’mores over the fire pit surrounded by ambient market lights. One bundle of firewood provided per reservation. - Dog-Friendly Accommodations: We allow up to two (2) well-behaved dogs to join you (must be disclosed on reservation). Don't fret about packing Fido's bed or bowls - we've got that covered. We provide food/water bowls, an orthopedic dog bed, and treats for your fuzzy bestie! We do not require dogs to be crated while you are out and know it isn't reasonable to always take them with you while you explore the area, but please understand they would rather be with you as they are in an unfamiliar environment. No one knows your dog(s) like you do, so we just ask you to be mindful of how long they are left alone and to please not exceed the amount of time they can handle. Please note that our yard is not fenced and we have frequent wildlife (deer, elk, coyote, raccoons) passing through, so pets must be under your control at all times while outside and you are responsible for cleaning up after them. Pets must be house trained, current on flea and tick prevention, and up-to-date on vaccines. **Note: The dog across the street is not very people or pet friendly, so I recommend not trying to win him over when taking your walks. He will not jump the fence, he is just loud in his "greeting". :) To set expectations, please note, our home is not child-proofed. We do not have outlet covers, corner protectors, or cabinet locks. There are breakable and sharp items within reach. There is no dedicated baby/toddler bedroom and there is limited space for travel cribs or pack-n-plays. We provide a baby gate that will work for the first floor / base of the stairs (will not work upstairs with our railing). Children will need to be monitored closely while in the home as you are responsible for their safety and well-being during their stay. Climbing, playing, and standing on the railing on the stairs and loft is strictly prohibited. With these things in mind, please decide whether our cabin is a good fit for a relaxing vacation with young children before booking. In winter months, the roads to our house are plowed when weather permits, but the driveway and deck may not be cleared of snow. Guest access During your stay, you'll have exclusive access to the entire A-Frame cabin. You're welcome to make yourself at home and enjoy the amenities provided. The shed is not accessible to guests. Other things to note - WiFi is available throughout the cabin, so you can stay connected during your stay. Being a mountain town, WiFi outages can happen, though not a common occurrence. Cellular signal is not great in the area. - While we are on the topic of outages, power outages are also a possibility, particularly during wind, rain, or snow. Oftentimes, outages only last a few hours or less but this is a great time to play games, grill up some dinner, and reconnect with friends and family! Flashlight, a lantern, and candles are available as is an emergency light source. Candles must only be used with extreme care and only during outages. Do not use them on tables near the ceilings. - Being located in the woods, it is not uncommon that some insects may make their way inside. Depending on the time of the year, you may find spiders, flies, gnats, mosquitos, ants, etc. Keeping the door closed will help keep nature outside, but some may still find their way inside. We are pesticide-free in and around the home to keep everything safe for people and pets. - Due to the potentially dangerous nature of an a-frame loft, children and pets are not to be left unsupervised upstairs at any time. Standing and climbing on the railing is strictly prohibited. - To maintain resources for all guests and our own visits, we provide one (1) bundle of firewood located in the a-frame wood storage by the fire pit for your stay. - On the topic of fires, burn bans are common in Packwood at certain times of the year (typically summer) to protect the surrounding forests. We, and the fire marshal, take these VERY SERIOUSLY. If you are caught burning during a ban, the fire marshal will issue the guest and host a $500 fine without warning, so please confirm there are no bans in place before starting a camp fire. If conditions have been very dry, host may request you not to have wood fires even if no ban is in place. The propane fire pit on the deck is safe to use during these bans. - Only the registered guests listed on the reservation are permitted without prior approval. RVs, ATVs, UTV, etc must receive approval before your stay, and approval is not guaranteed. - If you are looking for an “off-grid” or secluded experience, you may prefer a different cabin. Neighboring cabins and homes are visible from all parts of our property, though often times you will not see the neighbors during your stay. The neighborhood is a mixed community of vacation homes and full time residents, providing an eclectic mix of home types and people. Our neighborhood is very safe at all hours, with no known criminal activity. Being in a neighborhood in the woods, you may hear chain saws, lawn equipment, or people working on their cabins during the day. The evenings are typically very quiet. - Security cameras are in place to ensure guest safety, neighbor happiness, and overall security. These are not actively monitored during your stay unless an issue arises, but may be referenced to confirm guest count. There are no interior or interior-facing cameras.

We are in the mountains, so bugs like ants, ladybugs, and stinkbugs do make their way inside occasionally (especially if you have the doors or windows open for some lovely mountain air). We take extra measures to keep them out and under control, but please keep reasonable expectations. In the summer especially, bugs are to be expected outside. Our cabin is equipped with Starlink high-speed satellite internet, offering fast and reliable Wi-Fi for streaming, video calls, and remote work—even in this secluded mountain setting. While it’s a major upgrade from typical rural internet, please note that brief interruptions can occasionally occur.

It’s conveniently located close to Mt. Rainier National Park, White Pass Ski Resort, and downtown Packwood, along with several other areas for great fishing, hiking and exploring. The space Timberline Retreat has a full kitchen and dining area, complete with a bar cabinet and beverage cooler. The kitchen is connected to the great room/living area with plenty of space for family and friend gatherings. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs, one with a king bed, and the other with a bunk bed and a twin bed. The third bedroom is upstairs and has another king bed, with its own TV and master bathroom. The cabin has two bathrooms downstairs, one by the 2 bedrooms, and a half bath off of the laundry room. A full laundry room with new washer and dryer has plenty of coat and shoe storage which makes it easy to prepare for your days of adventure. The garage can be used to store your skis, boots, snowshoes, fishing poles, and other small recreational items during your stay. Like most mountain towns, all-wheel drive vehicles are recommended but the drive is generally tame. We will make every effort to keep our driveway and pathway clear but please be patient with local snow removal services. Power Outages Our rural small town Packwood can experience power outages caused by severe rain, wind, and snow. While this is out of our control, we will work with you to make your stay comfortable (and maybe even romantic). Our electric fan-blowing fireplace will keep you warm, and flashlights are available in all bedrooms. Cell Service: Is not available in our around the cabin. Wi-Fi is available. Cell Service is available in town. Guest access You will have access to our entire cabin, deck, hot tub, and all of the incredible natural beauty that surrounds us. Other things to note Please keep in mind that this cabin is our personal home - not a hotel. We enjoy sharing our cabin with others who are respectful and considerate. We try our best to provide our guests with an ideal visit with us. If there is something you might like or if you have any suggestions, please let us know! We love to cook! But don't keep any food around due to little critters... We usually salt, pepper, and a bit of sugar, but we are not able to regularly monitor how much is there. It is a good idea to bring up with you whatever you might need (and please take everything back with you). Please leave no trash on or around the property to temp the neighborhood animals. Also, we do not keep the cabin stocked with firewood but all the local grocery stores and cafes sell firewood and kindling. If you're planning to barbecue, you may need to refill the propane tank at the local store. You're welcome to use what is there, but we are not able to keep an eye on the propane level so there may not be enough for what you want to do. Please clean the grill after your usage. Our cleaners do not have the bandwidth to clean the grill after guests, so we rely on the honor system to clean after yourselves. There is a crock pot located over the fridge. We also have a backup coffee pot and toaster above the fridge..Our stoneware is located next to the bar stools. The spiral staircase is not enclosed and is unsafe for small children. Use at your own risk.

Our cabin has all the amenities you'll need for a peaceful and relaxing get away. Loads of outdoor living space w/ BBQ, firepit, water feature, hammocks, and spacious lawn area. Sleeps up to 6 adult and 2 kids, perfect for families. RV/Trailer parking with electrical and water hook-ups for a fee. EV charging. The space Our property offers a main bedroom with en suite and king size bed, a TV with a Roku, a small desk with monitor and keyboard/mouse for your laptop should you need a place to work. One bedroom offers a queen size bed with a view of the back yard. Our third bedroom is our bunk room set up with 2 sets of bunk beds which is perfect for kids (comfortably sleeps 4 kids) but will fit 2 adults should that be necessary. We have a nice open living room with a large couch, media center with a record player and Alexa for listening to your favorite tunes, and a 60" TV perfect for family movie nights. There is a ton of room out back for lounging, playing yard games, and just chatting by the fire. Boot drying station for after those long days at White Pass or Mt. Rainier National Park. Plenty of blankets, pillows, and central heating to keep you warm in the winter and A/C to keep you cool in the summer. Keyless entry and self check-in with code given after booking. Guest access Ample parking for 3-4 cars in the driveway. Room for RV or trailer parking with 50 amp electrical and water hook-up. We have a Tesla charger should you need one just behind the gate on the right side of the large shop. Please do not block our neighbors driveway, mailbox, or garbage cans. Other things to note We understand that dog's are just as much a part of the family as anyone. We welcome dogs on our property for a fee of $40. Please add your pet(s) to the booking and the fee will auto-generate. We do have a 2 dog max. Please take caution that while our backyard is fully fenced, there are a few spots along the bottom where smaller or more agile dogs could get out. There is plenty of chopped wood, pallets, other items in the yard that could be used as a means to block your pup from escaping. We won't be held responsible for animals getting out of the yard. Please be mindful of your pets location at all times. Please note that there is no smoking allowed at our cabin. You may smoke at the end of the driveway on the street. The space Our cabin features 2 bedrooms- one with a queen-sized bed and the other with a double- and a separate sleeping loft with a custom king-size bed. The fully equipped kitchen ensures a comfortable stay for up to six guests. The open-concept living area with a wood-burning stove provides a warm and inviting atmosphere, ideal for family gatherings, a ski vacation with friends, or a romantic retreat. Quiet, family-friendly cabin in a wonderful neighborhood retreat area. Abundant outdoor activities nearby including Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Rainier National Park, and White Pass Ski Resort. Short walk to public river access, forest lands, trails, and waterfalls. Safe for kids and small dogs, high-speed internet, and more. - 25 min to Mt. Rainier National Park entrance (seasonal, May–Oct) - 30 min to White Pass Ski Resort - 10 min to downtown Packwood The space **The Cabin Sleeping Arrangement** The cabin is best sized for 6 people. (2 queen in separate rooms and 2 full/double beds in a loft area) ** High-Speed Internet** There is high-speed cable internet. Speeds are usually 115MB down and 15MB up. Perfect for many people on zoom or FaceTime. We have tested and used it extensively for ourselves as well as a family with school, etc **Indoor Area** The main living area of the cabin has a propane fireplace/stove that can be used at your leisure. The TV is a smart TV with Netflix, Disney Plus, and YoutubeTV included for guests, board games, a deck of cards, etc. The kitchen comes with an oven with stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, coffeemaker, refrigerator, utensils, dishes, and various other items needed for cooking. Please use any items you find in the kitchen, they are for your convenience. We have two portable AC units. One is placed in the living room area, and the other one is upstairs. Currently no AC units in the downstairs bedrooms. **Pets & Pet Supplies** Small dogs (less than 50lbs, maximum of 2 dogs) are welcome with a non-refundable additional fee of $35 per pet. We are NOT able to accept other types of animals unfortunately. The fees will be requested from you during your reservation request. One pet fee will come through as an automatic charge and we will bill for a 2nd one after using the app. The entire property is gated/fenced and should be dog-friendly. (Please double-check of course upon arrival) In the bedroom closet are a wire dog kennel and dog bed. There is also a bag dispenser should you just need extra baggies for your dog walk or for picking up for them in the back yard. As a reminder, please do not use bath towels for cleaning or for dogs. There are large towels on the shoe rack provided for that purpose. Also please keep the dogs off the couch and the beds. **Small Children** We have a portable high chair and Pack N Play. Also, we have children-friendly plastic plates and utensils sets. Most of the living area is carpeted so it will be comfortable for your little one's feet. Please be aware that we currently don't have a safety gate installed for the stairs. **Cleaning Supplies** Cleaning supplies are located in the hallway cabinets should you need them. If you need to know if a specific item is supplied please do not hesitate to ask. **Bathroom** The bathroom has a full bathroom/tub/shower with a shower handle/hose. There is also a full washer & dryer, sink, and toilet. There are a few toiletries provided should you forget any of your own. **Ample Parking, and EV Parking** There is a 240V 30AMP EV charge outlet at the front of the home. (Please bring your own cable and adapter. It is a three prong S80-SP plug. **Outdoor Area** The massive front deck wraps also along the side of the home and has ample seating. Feel free to move the furniture between the areas on the porch and the campfire. The 100% covered front & side porch is amazing for lounging rain or shine. The porch is covered and optionally 'gated' as well making it an excellent area to relax without having to worry about managing your pets. Please feel free to use the propane gas BBQ grill outside as well. The fire pit in the backyard is available for your use but you are responsible for providing the wood. Depending on the fire season you may not be able to use it if there are fire danger warnings. Matches and BBQ lighters are located in the cabinet located in the living area inside. Guest access The entire house. Depending on the request and the length of the stay, we could make one or both of the sheds outside available for storage/use as well. Other things to note **Security Cameras** We have a security camera mounted to the front door of the home for monitoring security/packages, arrivals/departures, cleaning crews, etc. We also have a security camera mounted to the shed pointing at the parking area. As a result, you may be recorded as you come and go. If you're uncomfortable with this, please get in touch before your booking so that we can make an alternative arrangement! (you can also temporarily cover the front door camera during your stay if you like). **RV** There is RV Space with hookups (Water, Sewer & 30 amp electric) available for use during your stay for an additional fee on the property. This must be requested and a $50 RV fee paid 24 hours previous to your arrival. **Contact Information** Our contact information is provided in our cabin welcome book within the cabin and on your welcome letter which will be messaged to you before your arrival. **Firewood** We provide limited firewood (when available). If you wish to burn a campfire and there is no wood on-site, you can purchase bundles of wood at Blanton's Supermarket or many other locations in town. You will need to follow the Lewis County Fire Restrictions when it comes to campfires. **Propane Tank** A regular 5-gallon propane tank and backup should be available for the outdoor BBQ grill, if both are empty for some abnormal reason, you may refill it at the Chevron or Mobile Station for about $2.50/gallon. **High Valley Country Club Golf & Swimming Pool** Our guests have the option to use the High Valley Country Club's outdoor pool or golf course. You must contact us 72 hours before wanting to use these facilities for permissions to be granted for you as our guest, no late requests can be honored. The fees that will be paid directly to the country club are $5-10/guest per day for the pool and $10-20/guest per day for the golf course. (nominal fees for administrative overhead by the caregivers) ** Occasional Power Outages** Power outages and internet outages can happen from time to time in this mountain area with inclement weather and tree falls, so please come prepared if they were to happen during your stay. When they happen they usually last about 4 hours. The utility company is responsive in this area. But overall, this is out of our control. In case of a power outage, there is a flashlight and batteries located in the cabinet to the left of the bathroom. You can use a cast iron pan on the propane grill outside if cooking is required. There is also a propane fireplace in the living room that could be used to warm up soups and such. **In Summary** Thank you for choosing to stay with us! Welcome to Packwood Mountain House! Take a breath and relax in this modern cabin in the heart of the Pacific Northwest wilderness. A place designed for friends and family, this cozy cabin is perfect for day trips to Mt Rainier, bluebird days at White Pass ski resort, and special occasions. When you decide it's time to take a break from some of the awe-inspiring scenery, enjoy the cedar soaking hot tub or covered gazebo with a Gozney pizza dome. The space Packwood Mountain house is hospitality at its finest. Sitting on a fenced, half acre just a short walk from the Cowlitz river and National Forest land, it's stocked with everything you could want for a stay in the mountains. In the spring of 2025, the cabin underwent two months of updates with fresh paint, a few small furniture replacements (don't worry, it still looks like the pictures), and a wide variety of repairs. This special place is ready once again to host you for your special celebrations and weekend getaways. The cabin features the primary bedroom with a queen bed and a loft with two twin xl beds. For cozy evenings in, we've stocked the space with board games, puzzles, books, and a Roku to stream on our Frame TV while enjoying the wood stove. The couch in the living room also provides a queen mattress pullout. The fenced outdoor space features our bunkhouse with a queen bed, blackout curtains, air conditioning. You will also find a six person cedar soaking tub, outdoor fire pit, and covered gazebo with dining table, Gozney pizza dome, and gas grill. Because the duo that remodeled this cabin comes from the restaurant industry, we’ve stocked the kitchen with some of our favorite restaurant tools like a Vitamix blender, large dutch oven, and a cocktail mixing kit. And since this is the Pacific Northwest, our coffee setup is built to make your coffee life a little easier with the following: Oxo burr coffee grinder, Moccamaster coffee brewer with stainless filter, french press, and instant hot water built into the sink for tea or cocoa When you are ready to venture out, keep in mind you are only: - A five min stroll to Gifford Pinchot National Forest and the Cowlitz river - 20 mins to Goat Rocks Wilderness - 25 mins to Mount Rainier National Park (Stevens canyon entrance) - 30 mins to White Pass ski resort - 30 mins to the Pacific Crest Trail - 40 mins to both Rimrock and Walupt Lakes - 50 mins to Mount St Helens and Mount Adams And so much more! We look forward to hosting you! Guest access You will have access to the entire property with the exception of wood storage and the locked owners shed located on the back end of the property. Other things to note ***Air conditioning: Our property is currently listed as one with air conditioning, however this is only partially accurate and a default setting on the platform. While our bunk house contains a portable air conditioning unit, the main house does not currently have any air conditioning options. In the short term we have instructions in our welcome book to provide guidance on how to keep the house cool for those handful of days when the temps are high until we can find and install a system suitable for the space. Septic: This is the wilderness and as such, there is no sewer system. Please see your welcome guide for more details on what can go down the drain. Power Outages: Occasionally, Packwood does experience an outage during a heavy rain or winter storm. We have a wood stove for a heat source and a covered outdoor grill and pizza oven that have made all the difference on the rare occasion. We also provide led lights and flashlights in each bedroom to carry around. Please note that the hot tub, wall heaters, kitchen equipment, and WIFI all require electricity. Perfect time to start a fire in the fire pit, nap, read a book, play a game, work on a puzzle, color or draw! Occasionally the outage will not affect the main strip in Packwood, and if you are trying to take a call for work you'll be able to do so at Mountain Goat Coffee or the Timberline Library. Hot tub: we thoroughly clean the hot tub and add low dosage chlorine between each guest. Please shower/rinse off to remove dirt, mud, lotions, soaps, etc in the water. Absolutely NO salts, bath bombs or bubbles allowed. NO glass to avoid accidents. Please use plastic or metal cups. Please review and decide if this is a fit for you and your guests. Failure to do so might lead to draining and extra extensive maintenance which would result in extra $300 fee. Snow: In the winter, you may encounter snow so please be prepared with AWD and/or tire chains. Tire chains are required in your car from November-May if you plan on going up to Mt. Rainier NP. Our driveway is flat, but roads can be icy. We try and keep it plowed as often as we can, but there may be times when you'll need to drive in snow and ice (weather dependent). Cell phone service & Wifi: We personally have Verizon for cell phones and Wave for internet. Verizon seems to be more consistent, but messages will eventually go through. Like the power outages, there are times that WIFI cuts in and out or even complete outages. We encourage you to unwind while here with the suggested activities listed above! We do not provide firewood as most of the wood onsite is curing (not ready for use). If you chose to use our outdoor fire pit or wood, you can purchase firewood at Blanton's grocery store in town.

Come join the fun! Reservations are non-transferable. The individual who makes the reservation ("Booking Guest") must be at least the minimum required age, must remain an active member of the traveling party, and must be present at the property for the duration of the stay. Guest access Guests will have full access to the cabin and garage, excluding one owners closet and outdoor shed. Other things to note We are happy to be a pet friendly rental and allow up to 2 dogs under 40 lbs, with an associated pet fee of $175 per stay. Owners are responsible for supervising their pet at all times, keeping all dogs on leash, and disposing of pet waste. Pets are not allowed on furniture and owners will be responsible for any damages caused by their pet. Please reference our pet policy for additional rules and information. An additional cleaning fee of $100 will be assessed if pet waste is not picked up by the guests and disposed of in the garbage prior to checkout. We recommend 4 wheel drive vehicles and having chains available for driving through the mountain passes. The east entrance to Mt Rainier is open during summer months, but closed during winter months. Please refer to the national park website for updated hours. ~ Power Outages: Packwood can experience an outage during a heavy rain or wind storm. You'll find emergency flashlights in the drawers of the black hutch in the dining room and candle lanterns in the living room and game room. The gas fireplace is operated by remote (located in the basket by the front door), and this can function well during any outages. PUD is usually quick to respond and restore our area. Power outages are outside of our control, and refunds cannot be issued for lack of power. The outage will often not affect the main strip in Packwood, and if you need WIFI or cell coverage you may be able to do so at Mountain Goat Coffee or other local businesses. ~ We do not provide firewood for the outdoor firepit. If you chose to use our outdoor fire pit be prepared to bring wood, otherwise bundles can be purchased at Blanton's grocery store in town. ~ Please note that, per the listing amenities, there is no air conditioning unit at the cabin. We do have a whole house fan that is available. It provides a wonderful breeze for cooling the house using outside air, but it not a coolant-utilizing unit and cannot cool the cabin to the level that a traditional AC would be able to. ~We do not provide bug spray or any additional outdoor supplies. Mosquitos and other bugs are common in western Washington during the spring, summer, and fall. Please bring your preferred outdoor supplies and bug spray as needed to enjoy your stay. ~The community pool is located at the HOA clubhouse and is open seasonally, per the High Valley HOA. Unexpected closures may occur that our outside of our control, and refunds will not be issued for lack of pool or other clubhouse amenity access. There is a $10 fee for use of the community pool (regulated and paid to the HOA, and subject to change at their discretion). We do not collect or manage this fee. Guests also can have access to the golf course when available and with associated fees, as listed on the community facility website.

Lost Owl Lodge is a luxurious private mountain home on 8 peaceful acres deep in the forest. It's ideal for family vacations, couples getaways, ski trips, and hiking trips. 6 beds in 3 bedrooms plus a fold-out sofa accommodate up to 10 people. The kitchen is equipped with every possible device for cooking. Relax on the large deck. Soak in the hot tub or enjoy the two-person radiant heat sauna. There is a Traeger smoker, gas grill, fire pit, ping pong table, dart board, and basketball hoop. The space Lost Owl Lodge is conveniently located near Packwood, Mount Rainier National Park, White Pass Ski Area, and Gifford Pinchot National Forest. It is nestled on 8 acres that abut the national forest and is quiet and private. The cabin is modern and tastefully furnished. It has central heating and air conditioning, plus a wood-burning stove. There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has an ensuite bath and a queen bed. The second bedroom is located next to a bath and has a double bed. A bunkroom has two double bunk beds that can sleep 4. These bunks are great for children but can be a little small for large adults. The main floor consists of the master bedroom with a private bathroom with both a separate shower and bathtub, the kitchen, the dining room, a dining nook, the great room, an entrance hallway, a pantry/laundry room, and a second bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom is located on the upper floor, along with the bunk room and a third bathroom. There is an entertainment area with a large screen television, a fold-out sofa, a very comfortable leather chair and ottoman, and a table and chairs for playing games. A large collection of games and DVDs is kept there as well. Organize a ping pong tournament or a dart match for the ping pong table and dartboard in the basement, or try out your luck on the arcade game (unfortunately only one is functional). The hammock kept in the basement has prepared clips between two trees behind the hot tub and is a great place to read a book or take a nap. In the summer, the large deck is an ideal spot to relax with two lounge chairs and a table and chairs. There is also a picnic table near the fire pit. Rejuvenate in the six-person hot tub surrounded by 4 large cedar trees which create a special atmosphere and a canopy that limits rain and snowfall. Relax in the two-person sauna near the hot tub. We love to cook so there is almost every imaginable device and appliance available. In addition to the traditional appliances, there is also a sous vide setup, a crock pot, a rice cooker, a griddle, a waffle iron, a blender, a milk steamer for lattes, and a Cuisinart food processor. There are multiple knives, a grater, a mandoline, a juice squeezer, corkscrews, and countless other kitchen gadgets. and On the large deck, there is a gas grill and a Traeger smoker. In the pantry, there are staples and lots of spices. Guest access Guests have full access to the cabin except for three small cabinets which are locked off, and one storage room which is locked. Other things to note Hike: Mount Rainier National Park is minutes away with the Grove of the Patriarchs Trail a 15-minute drive, Tipsoo Lake and Natches Peak Trail 30 minutes away, and Sunrise and Paradise a one-hour drive. We abut the Gifford Pinchot National Forest - one of the oldest National Forests in the United States. There are countless trails to hike, rivers to walk, vistas to view, and flora and fauna to enjoy. Ski: White Pass is a paradise for downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, sledding, and snowshoeing. It is a 20-minute drive from the cabin. National Parks: We are 8 miles from Mt. Rainier National Park and 80 miles from Mt. St. Helen's National Monument. Stargaze: Clear skies and minimal light pollution combine to make an ideal setting for stargazing or astrophotography. Huckleberries: In late August, there are large huckleberry patches filled with berries to pick. Fish: There is great fishing on the Cowlitz River and Skate Creek, only minutes from the cabin. White Water Rafting: Just over White Pass is the Tieton River which has class III-IV White Water Rafting in September each year, just 40 minutes from the cabin. Hunting: There is an abundance of elk with excellent hunting in the forests surrounding Packwood. Packwood: Shopping and antiquing, restaurants, a saloon, and a bakery/coffee shop are a short drive from the cabin in Packwood. There is a new Mexican Restaurant and a new Brew Pub. (MAX 6 adults, with up to 2 addtl children under 14) NON SMOKING/ NO PETS The space If you're not out exploring, you'll be perfectly content spending a day on the deck watching the creek or soaking in the hot tub. While inside, curl up with a book, watch movies or play games with family and friends. The home is comfortably furnished both inside and out. Guests love the bright red vintage Mid-Century Modern fireplace on the deck, always a great gathering spot. The yard has grassy areas in front and back. Enjoy the gas grill and deck for memorable outdoor dining. Inside two bedrooms (queen bed and bunk room with single over double) and a bath are located on the main floor, along with the kitchen and living/dining areas. Upstairs is a loft with double futon. Next to the loft is the master bedroom (king bed) and ensuite bath. Inside are three smart TV’s: family room, master and bunk room...Or kick back with an old school DVD from a cabinet full of choices. We limit the space to six (6) adults. Six adults can sleep comfortably, up to 2 additional people if 14 yrs or under. Top bunk has 120lb weight limit. The loft space with double futon has a sloped ceiling and can be a little constrained for adults, as well as our septic tank limitations. Entire property is smoke-free and no pets allowed. Guest access Situated aside and perched above spectacular Lake Creek, the cabin boasts unbeatable privacy and serenity. Every season has its own beauty with the various flows of the creek, changing leaves or falling snow. Access the creek on our private stairs (use with caution and at your own risk, steps are slick and steep). Dip your toes in the water, cast a line or chill your champagne. You'll find many uses for that cold, rushing water. Children 14 and under not allowed at the creek without an adult. Please note: not all cell carriers have service in our neighborhood. Once out on the main highway and in town usually fine. The home's internet works to enable most cell lines. Other things to note Located just 2 miles from the town of Packwood, where you'll find a few restaurants, full grocery, local breweries, friendly mercantile and a coffee shop. Coming to Packwood is getting away from it all. Don't expect a major shopping destination or luxurious spas, but enjoy the friendly locals and a few slow-paced days during your stay. Other nearby activities include hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, rafting, mountain biking and more. Lake Creek Retreat is the perfect year-round destination. Approx 2.5 hours north of Portland, OR and 3 hours from Seattle, WA. Stevens Canyon entrance to MRNP is open late May to late September. Please note, the entire property and cabin are non-smoking and pet free. No parties, smoking or drug use will be tolerated. Any violation can result in full forfeiture of damage deposit.

The Chalet was built in 1964, and the previous family spent over 50 years making family memories here. After 5 years of enjoying several wonderful family ski outings, we’ve decided to share this experience with others. Be the first person or family to explore the great outdoors while staying at the Coal Creek Chalet! *Both Skate Creek and the Chinook pass are closed during winter months. Highway 12 is the only highway accessing Packwood during that time frame . *After Memorial Day 2025, we'll no longer supply firewood.
