The Historic McCormick House (built in 1868) is the perfect place for a romantic stay, restful retreat, or family and fur-friendly get-away. As a boutique hotel, we also host intimate weddings, elopements and other private micro events. Nestled on the banks of Pescadero Creek, on 3/4s of an acre in the heart of downtown Pescadero! All the local restaurants & shops are just a leisurely five-minute stroll down Stage Road. Coastal redwood forests and pristine beaches are just a stone's throw away. The space The McCormick House has two bedrooms on the second floor (sleeps up to five adults). Our "James & Mary" room has a queen bed and our "Aunt Fanny & Sister Beth" room has a double and a twin. Junior mattresses and a pack-n-play are also available. The two bedrooms share a full bath on the same floor. The first floor has a foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and a half bath. Guest access Guests booking the McCormick House have full access to the house, porches and adjacent gardens. Although it's somewhat unruly, there is a large garden that has guest access. There are tables and chairs for outdoor dining on the lawn, or enjoy afternoon tea on the wrap-around porch. There's even a swing (for two) under the old walnut tree. The house is surrounded by Pescadero Creek, with a wild riparian corridor - which on the coast means stinging nettle and poison oak - please don't venture beyond the more manicured parts of the grounds. Other things to note Some historic and other fun details: The McCormick House is one of Pescadero's oldest and most beloved historic landmarks. James McCormick was a local entrepreneur, who owned several local businesses, including a hotel, a mercantile and a lumber mill (of course). When James decided to gift his new bride (Julia) with a home in town, he chose not to build it immediately adjacent to Stage Road, as was the fashion of the day. His desire for privacy and love of nature is now a legacy all of our wonderful guests enjoy. We have a large and rather wild garden, surrounded by a riparian corridor along the banks of Pescadero Creek. The house sits serenely on 3/4's of an acre in the heart of downtown Pescadero. We think we have a little piece of paradise here - and feel very fortunate that we are able to share it with you! Some helpful location details: The McCormick House and the small coastal village of Pescadero are just two miles inland from pristine beaches dotting Hwy 1 along the California central coast, with redwood forests (Memorial and Butano State Park), just a short 10 minute drive away. From Pescadero it's a 15 minute drive north to the charming town of Half Moon Bay and 20 minutes south to Ano Nuevo (to see the elephant seals). Travel 30 minutes south to the tiny seaside town of Davenport and 45 minutes south to fabulous Santa Cruz for shops and dining and the famous Boardwalk. Some practical details: The full bath offers a shower only. Although there is a bathtub, it is plumbed only for use as a shower. The tub can only be filled via the shower head.

Pescadero Escape, located on the ocean side of Hwy 1, is a peaceful retreat for your family to get away from it all. Enjoy a 180 degree view of the Pacific and access to a secluded beach on this one-acre property under an hour from San Francisco. The space This 5,000 sq.ft. home is situated on one acre of ocean-front property West of Highway 1. It has five bedrooms with king beds that are configured as follows: 1. Master Bedroom, ocean view, ensuite bathroom, king bed 2. Bedroom 2, ocean view, adjacent (jack&jill) bathroom, king bed 3. Bedroom 3, ocean view, king bed 4. Bedroom 4, ensuite bathroom, king bed and sofa bed (no ocean view) 5. Bedroom 5, ocean view, king bed There is also a sofa bed in the family room (with limited privacy). A stone’s throw from incredible beaches, lush and sprawling county parks, wine tasting, u-pick produce and farm stands, and plenty of small-town charm. A paradise for cyclists, hikers, foragers, nature lovers, ocean enthusiasts, and anyone looking to relax and unwind in this hidden gem stretch of California coastline (known lovingly as the “slow coast”). The space The home is located on a quiet residential street, and feels like a treehouse tucked into the redwood forest. There are two levels in the main house, with the bedroom, master bathroom, and laundry room located downstairs and the living room, kitchen, additional bathroom, and large deck area upstairs. Off the lower level deck, you’ll find a two-person sauna and equipped grill area. Walk just a few steps across the driveway to access the detached office, a cozy spot with an incredible picture-window view of the trees, complete with small desk, reading nook, and electric fireplace. Our home makes for a perfect romantic getaway for two, with a spacious and comfy California king in the downstairs bedroom. If additional space is needed, the couch upstairs is a sleeper sofa which pulls out into a queen sized bed with memory foam mattress. Linens for the pull out couch are available upon request pre-arrival. There is also a queen size loft sleeping area in the office, however, this sleeping space is only accessible via ladder and is only appropriate for able-bodied adults. Please note, we do not provide bedding for the office, as the mattress fits wall-to-wall so it’s quite difficult to make up with sheets—sleeping bags are ideal! Guest access Guests will have access to the entire property. Other things to note PET POLICY We are a dog friendly rental, as long as dogs are over one year old, housebroken, and non-chewers. We collect a $100 security deposit per pet that is fully refundable as long there are no damages and you have cleaned up after your pet(s), including hair. We provide a dog blanket to cover the bed/furniture as needed, a vacuum, and a pet hair removal tool (all in the downstairs closet). ** Please note, for heavy shedding breeds, we may require a higher pet fee OR we may keep part of the deposit if cleaning takes significantly longer due to pet hair removal. ** Cats will be considered, but must receive prior permission before booking as we do have specific guidelines/deposit required. EV CHARGING Charging hours of AFTER 9 pm and BEFORE 3 pm are strictly enforced, and you must confirm before arrival if you intend to charge an EV during your stay. Our property is near a private community pool, also typically quiet, with the occasional neighborhood gathering on major summer holidays. The guest space (the main home and its surrounding outdoor areas) is for your exclusive use and is not shared, though you may occasionally see tenants coming and going. If you’re looking for complete seclusion with no nearby residents, this may not be the right fit—but most guests find it to feel quiet, spacious, and private enough to fully relax. Most guests don’t notice this unless on a live call, but we want to be fully transparent. The space The property is located on HWY 84, which is a scenic corridor that winds past farms and through redwood forests, and is home to world-class road cycling. The 500+sq. ft. apartment is in the lower level of a family home (the hosts), and has its own private entrance and parking spots. Windows look out onto trees in every direction: coast live oaks and bay trees are prominently featured. The house/apartment is on 5 acres with access to a pasture with friendly grazing horses and a cow or two! You can visit the wide and wild San Gregorio creek by walking for just a couple of minutes. It's about a ten minute walk to the wedding venue next door. Reflecting our values around sustainability and reuse, much of the apartment was constructed with repurposed materials. Reclaimed redwood was used for all the trim and beams. There are repurposed cabinets throughout, and the countertops are all made from a redwood tree that fell on the property a few years ago. Guest access You will have access to the apartment, the outdoor table and chairs just outside the apartment (private from the upstairs house), and a trail down to the pasture and creek. The kitchen pop-out on one side gives plenty of space with a center island. The dinning and living room pop-out on the other side makes the living space largest available from side too side. The library/work space also has a pop-out in the rear which gives the desk area plenty of space. Make this a perfect getaway from silicon valley or a perfect spot to vacation and visit San Francisco, Santa Cruz and the Monterey Peninsula. The space This is a magical space located in a very special natural setting and yet close to a bounty of recreational activities. Guest access You will be able to access the deck inside of the gate and the studio. The grounds are available to you and please respect the privacy of others residing on the property. Other things to note Studio is on a septic system, so ONLY the provided toilet paper & human waste is allowed down the drains. (No baby wipes, paper towels, tissues, feminine products, etc. allowed down the drains.) Failure to comply will be a $500 plumbing charge that will be charged to guest. We also have a sticker on the toilet tank that spells this out as well.

Welcome to Serenity Knoll Barn Retreat in La Honda, CA. This converted 350 sq ft barn sits on 1.5 acres and offers a peaceful place to enjoy the beauty of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Located on the property of one of the first homes built in the community in the 1920s, and set apart from the main house for comfort and quiet, the barn once housed miniature horses and is now a cozy retreat with a separate bedroom, full kitchen, and full bathroom. Designed for rest and relaxed mountain living. The space Features include a large kitchen for two, full refrigerator, no freezer, portable ice maker, Toaster oven, full-size also known as double antique bed, large deck with peekaboo mountain views, and a full bathroom. Portable heater and fan. Guest access It’s close to trails, Alice’s Restaurant (13 mins), Half Moon Bay (30 mins), Stanford (30-45 mins), SFO (45 mins), San Francisco (1 hr 10 mins), Pescadero (26 mins). Other things to note Power Outage Policy: Our property is located in a fire-prone area of the Santa Cruz Mountains, where power outages can occur. Following the CZU fires, PG&E has heightened its fail-safes, but outages are still possible. Please note that refunds will not be provided due to power outages. We have emergency flashlights in every room and will do our best to ensure your stay is comfortable.

Cozy Barn Retreat

My place is close to miles of hiking and biking trails in county parks and openspace, great views, the beach and not far from the Peninsula, S.F. and Santa Cruz. You’ll love my place because of the location, the people, the ambiance, the outdoors space and that it is a self contained small cabin with a tiny deck.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets). Perfect for hikers and bikers. The space The Shack is located on our property that is part of our 1 acre compound that includes our home, three studios and horse barn. It has easy access from the street. It has a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster oven and propane BBQ on the deck. The Shack is quite small, but perfect for one or two people. It is one room with a trundle bed that pulls out into a king bed. And as it is, it’s a very comfortable twin size. Recently, 2 guests mentioned that they thought it was a cabin in the wilderness. It is on our 1 acre property in Cuesta La Honda, a small residential community in La Honda. The single lane road we're on runs by about 20 feet from the Shack. It is traveled only by locals and is not noisy. There is off road parking, and the Shack is through a private gate and down a path with six steps. Guest access The Shack. Garden and studios by invitation. Other things to note This is a working pottery.
