When you’re done relaxing, start up a BBQ using the gas grill that’s waiting for you on the first-floor deck. The lower deck has a top of the line hot tub that seats 6. The name "Toccoa" means beautiful in Cherokee and you can certainly see why as the specific stretch in front of our property is affectionately known as the "rock garden," where the soothing sounds of water cascading over large boulders create a calming ambiance and continuously stir the fresh aroma of minerals in the air. Another highlight on the property is the famous Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, a small passenger train that takes adventurists on a nostalgic journey through the charming Appalachian foothills of North Georgia. It passes below the house a couple of times a day during most seasons offering the fun opportunity to wave or dance a jig for the joyful passengers. Off the Hook features three king bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and a half bath. The remaining bedroom is equipped with two built in bunk beds (3 XL twins and 1 queen) and a convenient staircase for easy access. Relax in the plush beds offering high quality mattresses, pillows, and linens. Unwind in the two soaking tubs located on each level of the cabin. Every room, including the bedrooms, living room, and lower screened deck, is equipped with its own TV, ensuring entertainment and relaxation at your fingertips. Downstairs is where the outside seamlessly flows inside through the large custom flip up window. Lounge on the plush, queen size sleeper sofa and watch your favorite movie or game on the big screen TV. Toccoa River Outfitters offers premium fly fishing lessons right in front of the property as they have installed a fish feeder and there is easy access for wading or kayaks/drift boats. Drive 10 minutes north to Curtis Switch, park and take a fun +/- 1 hour long float directly to the cabins front yard, or take a +/- 4 hour float from the cabin to Horseshoe Bend Park or downtown McCaysville and grab a bite or a beverage. Be sure to check the Blue Ridge Dam release schedule as they release the lake water almost daily and the river quickly becomes much swifter and a few feet deeper during that time which is usually just about 2-4 hours or so. It takes about 2+ hours for the water to rise at our location from when they release it. We have 4 young children that love to tube it. Swim, fish, wade, tube, or kayak at your own risk! There is plenty to do, both at the cabin, within the community and in nearby Blue Ridge making "Off the Hook" a perfect choice for whatever kind of getaway fits your style. Guest access Fishing off the banks in the community is "Catch and Release only" - please be kind to future guests fishing availability. If you would like to keep trout, then please wade, drift, or kayak the river and there are plenty of keepers. Must have a trout fishing license. Looking at the river from our Cabin, the two docks to the right are not our docks so please do not use them. Please feel free to use the common area and the 175 ft river frontage in front of our cabin as much as you would like, we just ask you to please clean up after yourself. The fully equipped kitchen, with all stainless steel appliances, will be at the center of your entry. It features a large granite counter top island, bar stool seating, and all the conveniences of home. There are two coffee options, drip coffee and Keurig (K cups provided). The living room is centered to the cabin. It has modern furniture, an electric fireplace, 65” smart TV, dining trays, and accordion sliding door that creates a large open air living space directly to the main level deck. The main level deck has a dining table, with seating for 8, gas grill, and additional seating areas. There are two queen suites on the main level. One to the left and the other to the right. Both have 65” smart TVs and walk-in showers. The lower level provides another living space, featuring two cozy chairs, a combo foosball, air hockey game, two stand up arcade games, table, wet bar and 65” smart TV. The lower level deck is directly off the living space. It has two seating areas with great long-range views and direct access to the hot tub and fire pit located to the right of the deck. The hot tub and fire pit are very private and provide excellent views with outdoor string lights for the perfect nighttime ambiance. Two other bedrooms are located on the lower level. Our cottage, built in 1940, is both warm and inviting. Located directly on the Toccoa River inside the city limits, this home has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and is simply perfect for couples or families who want to explore McCaysville, Blue Ridge and the Copper Basin area. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad track is just across the road from the house. It's a favorite activity to step outside and wave when you hear the train whistle! The space The home has a living/dining room combo area, a breakfast table in the kitchen, 2 bedrooms downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs. The upstairs is a unique throwback to 1950 with beautiful original pine paneling. The home has two bathrooms, one that has a shower only and the other with a shower/tub combo. Both bathrooms are on the main level. There is also a laundry area with a washer and dryer. The greatest amenity is the beautiful Toccoa River which is just 42' from the home. Guest access Full access to the house. Other things to note Our cottage is about 40 feet from the banks of the Toccoa River. Children and non-swimmers must be supervised carefully at all times. The flow of the river varies, as it is fed by the TVA Blue Ridge Dam. Guests can check the generation schedule for the dam on the TVA website. When the dam begins generating, it takes about 4 hours and 45 minutes for the rising water to arrive in McCaysville. The river is deep behind the cottage. Fishing from the bank is a favorite pastime for guests. There are stone steps all the way to the river to make kayaking , tubing, and swimming easy. Horseshoe Bend Park is about 1.25 miles away from the cottage and the McCaysville City Park is a similar distance as well. Both parks have playgrounds for children and picnic areas for families to enjoy. If you enjoy tubing, the trip from Horseshoe Bend park to the cottage is a lot of fun!
