The river bottom is sandy and there is a sand bar close to sit and enjoy the warm Summer days. Please use precaution with water activities. We have a large kitchen, dining room and 2 living rooms for your enjoyment. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, laundry room and 2 car garage. You can enjoy the firepit and outdoor spaces including a screened porch and upper deck off the master bedroom suite. Other things to note We do request that shoes are removed when entering the home as we do have very light colored carpet. Please note that the property sits on a steep bank next to the river. SNOW AND ICE In this beautiful state of Wisconsin, the winter weather is very cold and snowy, and can change at the last minute. We have a snow removal service that shovels the driveway, walkways, and front sidewalk. They cannot always get to it immediately after a snow (especially if it's a big one), so there is a shovel by the back stairs and a bucket of salt. We do salt the walkway and stairs, but sometimes conditions change so rapidly that we can't always attend to them immediately. Please feel free to spread more salt as necessary.

Guest access The Hobnobber has off-street parking in the driveway to the right of the house for 3 cars and a parking pad in the rear of the house between the garage and alley for 2 cars. The City of Eau Claire requires one off-street space for each bedroom + 2 extra. We are one of the few houses that supply this and operate in Zoning Code. There's a sidewalk and 3 steps up to the front door where you can enter with a personal security code. Please note, the property is NOT setup for disabled travelers and the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. The stairs from the ground floor to the bedrooms are steep. If you are traveling with a baby or toddler, please be aware there are stairs in the home that cannot be gated off and the home is NOT child proofed! Kids can open cleaning cabinets and outlets are not covered. The side door camera faces West to monitor the steps, sidewalk, and access to the side entrance and attached garage entrance. The back door camera faces South to monitor the backyard path and access to the attached and detached garage entrances. These are to protect the home from burglary and unauthorized access. Please note, we do not actively view the cameras or watch the recordings, who has time for that, but we will pull the files if a problem occurs. There are no indoor cameras, that would be creepy. NOISE, SMOKING, OCCUPANCY, MOTION, TEMPERATURE, & HUMIDITY MONITORING: There are 5 Airbnb approved MINUT devices on site located in the: Living Room Stairwell, Garage Bar, Supply Closet, Boiler Room, and Detached Garage. They are set to go off if anyone enters the home when it is not rented, smokes inside, has more than 12 people on the premises, or makes more than 82 decibels of noise for more than 5 minutes. The Mulberry Loft is the cozy, affordable, and sunny upper apartment of our duplex, named after the huge, sprawling mulberry tree that grows right over the house. It almost feels like a treehouse! Located right across from an elementary school and just up the hill from downtown, it's in a great central location for whatever may bring you to town. It has a fully stocked kitchen, a comfortable living room, two spacious bedrooms, and a nice bathroom with a full shower/tub. The house was built in 1891 and has been refurbished into a nice and modern space, while still retaining much of its "old house" charm. We work hard to provide a clean and comfortable Airbnb, but want all guests to know before booking that our home is over 125 years old. While it has been maintained with care, the feel of our space is not like that of a hotel. We love this about The Mulberry Loft - there is plenty of charm and a relaxed, cozy feel. It's truly a home away from home! However, if you are looking for a vacation home, hotel amenities, or a luxurious feel, our place probably isn't for you. Also, please note since it is across the street from an elementary school, you will hear bells and children playing on school days (during the week Sept-early June). With 2 bedrooms (1 king and 1 queen) with one bath, it's perfect for 2-4 people, 5 max if you have a group. The couch is comfy and great to sleep on if you need it. Extra pillows and blankets can be provided if needed. The space is creative and fun, unique to Eau Claire and the surrounding area. The dining room, living room and bedrooms are all black.
