Set back from the road with a big front yard, fenced in backyard with a chiminea, gas grill and big dining table, the outside of the cottage is almost as cozy as the inside! Guests enter the cottage into a bright and inviting living room with modern, yet comfortable, furnishings, an electric fireplace and a 55" OLED TV with Roku. The living room flows into a dining space with tall vaulted ceilings, updated lighting, a large table for games and shared meals, and a record console (and records!) to provide background music to your vacation. The fully stocked kitchen includes a gas range, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and plenty of counter and cabinet space. Just around the corner, guests can find a washer and a dryer. Also on the first floor are two bedrooms - one huge master bedroom with a king bed, lots of natural light, 43” Roku TV, electric fireplace and reading nook, and another bedroom with a queen bed - and one spacious bathroom with tons of counter space and a large walk in shower with two shower heads (wall mount and hand held) and a bench. Upstairs, guests will find the 3rd bedroom which has a queen bed and desk, the 2nd full bathroom with a bathtub/shower and a large loft space complete with another great lounging couch and chair, a 48" OLED Roku TV, Nintendo Wii and a view into the dining space below. Working remotely? Our loft also has a desk with an extra monitor, keyboard, mouse and chair. Each bedroom and the main dining/living space have new, quiet window AC units (4 total). Very cute and cozy home to enjoy Door County from. Large, private back yard with pergola and plenty of patio seating including a fire pit area. Charcoal grill on site. Home is centrally located between Washington Island and Egg Harbor. It's within .4 mile walking distance to downtown Sister Bay. Great place to get away and relax and still have the fun of the restaurants and shops nearby. This is our home away from home and we hope it will be yours too. (Maple Cottage RT-364) The space Our home is very comfortable and it does not have "just a rental" vibe. Why? Because we treat this exactly as our home because to us it's not a rental. It's small and cozy but without feeling too tight, with good flow. Front yard and the back yard have great views to take in and plenty of space to go outside and relax in. The downstairs bedroom, is in the walk-out basement and is only suitable for children who are able to take stairs and sleep alone. Note this area is not very sound proof. For your comfort, we ask that no more than 4 adults and 2 children stay in the home due to its small size (or combination of 6 that works with sleeping arrangements). If you have a small child that sleeps in a pack n play, guest would need to bring that along and child would count as part of 6 max occupancy. 2 parking spots are available and 3rd inside the garage would need to be cleared at time of booking to ensure it's cleaned and available. We provide paddle boards, paddles, life jackets, beach chairs, towels, swim noodles and car racks. We require that all use is adult supervised and follows posted safety rules, such as no use by non-swimmers and checking the gear for safety, damage or fit prior to use. ★ HOUSE RULES & OTHER POLICIES ★ PETS We warmly welcome up to 2 pets to join your stay! There is a $75 fee per pet. If you're bringing more than one, please let us know in advance. To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, pets must potty in the designated area next to the parking pad and please bring bags to clean up after them. No pets in beds or on the furniture. Also, please follow Sister Bay’s pet rules (such as pets on leash, no pets on beach). PARKING Sister Bay allows a maximum of 4 cars (no boats or trailers) on the property and 2 cars must be garage parked. No street parking, but there is a public parking lot, including for boat trailers, just across the street. SECURITY FEATURES To ensure the safety and peace of mind of our guests, we have several security features in place, including multiple locks, loud audible alarms that are easy to activate, and an exterior security camera. These measures are designed to enhance security and provide a worry-free stay. NEIGHBORHOOD Our home is in a residential neighborhood and we host up to 10 guests. Please respect the neighbors as if you lived here. No events or loud gatherings. Quiet hours are 10PM to 10AM. CANCELLATION POLICY We understand that plans can change unexpectedly, which is why we have a flexible cancellation policy in place. If you cancel your booking more than 14 days before your scheduled arrival date, you will receive a full refund of the total booking amount. If you cancel more than 7 days before arrival, you will receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately, cancellations made within 7 days of arrival are non-refundable. However, we will do our best to accommodate any change requests, subject to availability and applicable fees. Cozy getaway tucked into the woods yet close to the village center & many Door County activities! New teak floors throughout, wood burning fireplace, Roku & cable TV, family games and a large yard with a firepit & grill. Enjoy morning coffee or evenings cocktails on one of the 2 decks and you may see deer or other wildlife wandering through the yard. 2 lounge areas, dining for 8 plus two counter stools. Fully equipped retro kitchen with a popcorn maker! DCTZP #1156291200 The space The main level is elevated and the 3 bedrooms are on the upper floor so the ability to climb stairs is a must.  These photos were taken in April 2023, so the trees and expansive yard should be greening up soon! This is a perfect vacation getaway for a family and children!  The Chalet has 2 lounge areas including the living room with a Door County fieldstone fireplace and a great view of the yard as well as the den where you can curl up in front of the Roku TV in case of inclement weather.   The light filled master bedroom opens onto a private deck and has a king bed (as well as room for a portable crib if traveling with a little one).  Please note, there are blinds on the lower windows and sliding door, (not yet pictured) but no window coverings on the upper small windows. The second cozy bedroom has a queen bed and dresser. The third bedroom can sleep 6 children, 3 adults or a combination. This bedroom has a full over full bunk bed and a third full bed low to the ground.  The third low full bed is close to a slanted wall so would not be suitable for 2 adults.  (Also, per Wisconsin statute, the number of people in a room is limited by the cubic footage of the room.  This third bedroom has about 1200 cubic feet of air.  Adults are required to have 400 cubic feet per person and children 200 cubic feet. Please take this into consideration when determining how many people can stay in this room...for example, 6 children or 3 adults or 2 adult and 2 children or 1 adult and 4 children).   There is a full bath with a combined shower and tub on the upper level and a half bath on the main level off of the kitchen.  The retro kitchen is fully equipped and there is even a popcorn maker! Guest access Because the basement and garage are unfinished, these areas are reserved for the owner's use only (unless a guest has to access the electrical panel). The guest has full access to the large yard, woods and the rest of the Chalet. Other things to note Unfortunately, due to the new hardwood floors, we are strict on our no pet policy. We would also appreciate it if guests removed their shoes upon entering the chalet.  This is a no smoking property. Thank you for your understanding. 2023 is our first season! Imagine waking up in the morning stepping out onto your deck to watch the sunrise over the bay and gaze at the crystal clear water right below your feet, hearing the sounds of nature, and smelling the lush green forest. The space You can’t get anymore waterfront than here at Paddler on the Bay. Walk 10 steps to the dock to launch the supplied kayaks (June-September), or cast a line to watch in anticipation for that bobber to go down. Or watch the fire in the sky in the hot tub as the sun sets over the bay. If water isn’t your jam, play a game of bags in the backyard, enjoy a campfire at the fire pit, or ride your bikes (e-bikes also available for an additional fee) less than a mile to explore the town or take a 5 minute car ride into Sister Bay to be in the middle of the action. Endless opportunities await you here at one of the most ideal locations in Door County. Memories WILL be made here. Guest access You will have the entire house to yourself beginning at 4pm. The entrance is through the front door or side door. You will be provided a code the day before arrival. We will be available for help most of the time between 9am and 6pm. We do not have a 24 hour service, but we do our best to help with any accommodations for your entire stay. As a reminder, we are not a full service hotel. We are providing our space for the month and some essentials to make your stay better. Other things to note There is plenty of parking available on the property. Next to the garage, there are 2-3 parking spaces. Please note the driveway is shared with the neighbor. Two cars can park behind each other closer to the house on the left side of the driveway. There are signs that clearly show to park on the left side of the driveway while the neighbor uses the right side. More specific instructions will be provided prior to arrival. Be mindful and respectful in regards to noise levels. Parties or loud music will NOT be tolerated. Additional rules and regulations for the patio and quiet hours will be provided upon arrival. There are exterior surveillance cameras located around the property recording 24/7 (front yard, garage, front door, and rear deck). While we want to ensure you have a wonderful experience, we have better things to do than spend our time spying on our guests - the cameras are more for safety reasons. Early check-in/check-out will be accommodated as reservations allow. Please check with host prior to arrival to discuss this possibility for an added fee. Must sign rental agreement upon booking. Must submit a $500 off-platform security "hold" that will be collected upon signing rental agreement, but it will not be placed until 2 days prior to arrival and released 7 days after departure, if no damages are reported. MORE DETAILS ABOUT CHICORY HILL Our home is a classic Door County farmhouse that underwent a complete restoration and remodel in 2024. The space is two stories and 2,200 feet. •Seven guests maximum - due to one of our beds being a daybed, a maximum of six adults permitted. •Our new modern kitchen has a dishwasher, induction stove, and refrigerator/freezer with ice maker. The kitchen is fully equipped. •Large dining table with seating for seven guests •Indoor gas fireplace •Central heating and air conditioning •Washer and dryer on main level (free) •Record player and vinyl music library •Five Roku smart TVs (One in each bedroom, one in the living room, and one in the basement game room) •Complimentary streaming app for live, local television, cable channels, and sports • High-speed internet. Guests may hear laughter, joy, and music while using our home's outdoor spaces. Like most locations on our peninsula, some vehicle noise will be heard outside. We have a six-foot privacy fence and a tree line in our backyard, adjacent to our outdoor entertainment space. •We have a couple of reviews in which guests mention that our home is "walkable" to downtown Sister Bay. While this is technically true, guests should be aware that there is a large, long hill leading into downtown from our home. This may present difficulty when walking back to Chicory Hill for some guests. South Sister Bay locations, including Peach Barn Brewery, Johnson's Fun Park, Pirates Cove mini-golf, and Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store, are an easy walk from Chicory Hill. •Please note that Chicory Hill is a remodeled classic farmhouse. We have slanted ceilings near the sides of our upstairs beds. At the end of our basement stairwell, there is a small section with a slightly low ceiling height, requiring guests to duck their heads. Because we added central heating and cooling during restoration, our basement ceiling has areas that are slightly lower than modern basements. Guests taller than 6'3" may need to slightly duck in some areas. Furniture and decor may differ from the listing photos, as we strive to maintain the comfort, quality, safety, and cleanliness of our home's furnishings. Guest access Guests will have access to our entire home and yard. There are three locked rooms in the basement without guest access: one supply room, one cellar room containing our sump pump, and one mechanical room containing our furnace. Our garage is small and very old. Guests can access our garage for storage of their personal items, such as bicycles, coolers, and kayaks, etc. We supply firewood for our firepit, and propane for our fire table and outdoor grill. Our semi-circle, pull-through driveway has parking for three vehicles (village-enforced maximum). Blue Moon Cabin + 2 is ideal for family and/or friends traveling together who enjoy their separate space, yet are right next door. The cabin offers two distinct suites separated by a hallway. Each has a living room, kitchen, bathroom & sleeping area(s). Four guests maximum in suite 1 and two max in suite 2. Suite 1 is available on its own - see Blue Moon Cabin. The space Suite 1 features a king bed master w/ full bath, carpeted loft w/ two twins and half bath, fully equipped kitchen and a cozy living room featuring an electric fireplace, Roku TV, comfy couches and plenty of blankets and pillows! Suite 2 features its own equally cozy living room with Roku TV, fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom and a master bedroom with twin beds. Each suite has its own porch space and patio. Guest access Guests have full access of the entire duplex and driveway. The cabin has two separate, but connected living spaces, each with a living room, kitchen, bathroom & sleeping area.
