This breathtaking cottage with 200 feet of Elk Lake frontage is the largest space for rent on the lake. Great for extended family vacations. It has a little private beach, dock and mooring ball and is only 20min from downtown TC. The south end of Elk Lake is very quiet, but a short boat ride to the famous Torch Lake sand bar, fishing on Skegemog Lake, or the cute little downtown of Elk Rapids. Snowmobiling, skiing, and other activities are abundant in the area. Paddleboard/kayak provided The space You have use of the main house, garage and apartment above the garage as well as the beach directly in front of this listing. The pole barn and little cottage next door are our private residences. Please park your vehicles in front of the Big Drake, the drive in front of the little cottage and pole barn is for our residence. Guest access Renters DO NOT have access to the pole building, guest cottage next door or the basement. Other things to note Guest will be supplied 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom and paper towel in the kitchen, extras available in pantry. Additional soaps also available in pantry. The space Situated on a private East Grand Traverse Bay beach, this home is perfect for getaways with family, friends or couples. Being a new build in 2019, it is absolutely pristine inside and out, and features all modern furnishings and appliances. The bedrooms all feature natural light and windows showing either Lake Michigan, or the forest, so it highlights the private, natural location. Additionally, each bedroom has direct access to a bathroom for added convenience. *Note, the fourth bedroom is a bonus room, above the attached garage, and is attached to the rest of the house via an interior stairway. There is no door to the bonus room itself. The living spaces are equipped with plenty of comfortable seating options and the kitchen is fully equipped and is perfect for cooking, hosting family, or relaxing over morning coffee. Our river connects to the chain of lakes with DNR public access literally right around the corner, just half a mile down our street. **Please note, at this time, the river in front of our dock is too shallow for motorized watercraft. You will have to put in at the DNR launch.** DOGS Dogs are allowed at our cottage but only with prior approval and prepaid pet fee with your reservation. This room has 2 sliders leading to the large back deck. This room does not have heat or central air, but the electric fireplace unit and space heater keep it comfortable and cozy in the winter. If the space heaters are on too high, the circuit breaker may pop. Reset it in the panel in the Workspace Room next to the desk and turn the heater back on at a lower setting. During the summer, it's typically comfortable and cool with the breeze off the river with open windows and the ceiling fan. Linens for sofa bed are in the hallway closet. Pillows and comforter are in the bench in the Master Bedroom. OUTDOOR PATIO + DECK Enjoy river watching on the large deck! Patio dining sets and bar, propane grill. However, she asks that you do not pet them. There is a physical wire fence plus invisible fence between our properties. Our home is located 0.6 miles from the DNR public boat launch for Torch River, where you can access the water by boat, jet ski, or kayak. Please do not launch our kayaks from this launch. Please only launch our kayaks from our dock. If you bring your own boat, it's about a 10-15 minute boat ride from the DNR launch to Torch Lake (parking fees may apply). The Torch Lake Sandbar is a few hundred yards away once you are in Torch Lake. We are part of the Chain of Lakes Water Trail - Torch Lake, Skegemon Lake, Elk Lake and all the interconnecting rivers... over 100 miles of water trails to explore! Bring your own boat or ask about local rental options! Our home is conveniently located to so many places! Alden - 7 minutes away - grocery store, wine tasting, beaches, pickleball courts, cute downtown shops and restaurants. Elk Rapids - 20 minutes away - grocery store, marinas with boat rentals, beautiful beach areas, pickleball courts, Shorts Brewery, wineries, wonderful shopping and restaurants. This is our favorite city!! Bellaire - 22 minutes away - Short's Brewery, restaurants and shopping. Traverse City - 30 minutes away - beaches, restaurants, casinos, wine tasting, vineyards, breweries, golf courses, shopping. Within 15-30 minutes you'll have mountain biking trails (snowshoeing in winter), cherry orchards, farmers markets, Schuss Mountain skiing, multiple golf courses and more! Boyne Mountain, The Highlands, Crystal Mountain and Nubs Nob are all about an hour away. ORV trail heads are a couple blocks away and lead to miles of off-roading. Guest access Large cement driveway with parking space for multiple vehicles and boat trailers. The pole barn and garage are not available to guests. Access to the home is self check-in with keypad lock entry. Other things to note Our home is professionally cleaned between each guest. An additional bunk house back by the camp fire pit adds for fun family adventures. The space The Home sits on the south western Bluff of Elk Lake, facing due east. The entrance opens into a mudroom, that allows for ample space to dump all matters from muddy boots, to water shoes and beach bags. The overall property foot print is an acre, perched on a hill, situated on a corner "lot". There is a lower Pole barn that allows for convenient parking of trailers in the space and yard in front of it. The east-west Angell Rd dead ends into Elk Lake, and provides unmaintained public access for swimming, or launching into Elk Lake. It is a posted point of access for the Chain of Lakes Water Trail. This access point sits approximately 300 ft from the lower property corner of the house. Next to the entrance to the house sits a pea stone sitting area, where the Grilling area is available. A functional "bunk" house and fire pit is also available to the back aspect of the property for campfire fun. This private home has a private dock with access to Torch Lake and the entire chain of lakes. It's only a 5 min boat ride to the famous Torch Lake Sand Bar! It's a beautiful 3,500 sq. ft. home with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bath with a spacious private yard. The home includes a family room, living room with fireplace, an all-seasons room, a game room with sitting area, pool table and shuffleboard. Many games and books to create a relaxing or fun environment for those who want to keep busy! The space The house sits on over an acre of land and has a private dock. You can bring your own boat or rent one. You can easily put your boat in once and avoid the launching area until you have to load up after your stay! Property includes a full two car garage. Storage for fishing equipment/skiing/snowboarding or golf clubs can be stored and locked up. There are three different living areas for all to spread out! Two of the living rooms have TV's, the third has a working fireplace to warm up and relax and enjoy a book or a glass of wine! The dining room sits up to 6 people with an additional round wooden table for 4. There is 1 bedroom with a queen bed downstairs with a half bath next to that. There is also a pull-out sofa in the (game) living room. The rest of the bedrooms are on the upper floor along with a master suite and a full bath with tub. An additional bathroom is also upstairs.
