During the peak of summer there are amazing sunrises over the lake in the morning and sunsets in the evening with Mackinac Bridge in the background!!! Lakewood Cottage resides in a small, private association. The association resides along the shores of Lake Huron in Cheboygan County. Guests have access to 4 private association Lake Huron access points that also include some playground equipment for the littles! Surrounded by the tall Northern Michigan trees, this rustic cottage is the perfect location to get away and relax - you will definitely feel like you are "Up North" when you stay with us! The space Lakewood Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom. Two rooms reside on the 2nd floor. These have no door to the stairway nor between the rooms, though there is a hanging curtain between bedrooms for privacy. The main floor encompasses the kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and one bedroom. Through the living room are French doors that open to the back deck and our backyard where there is a fire pit. Lakewood Cottage is quaint and cozy! Note: Lakewood Cottage is not lakefront as AirBNB tags it as. We are one rustic lot back with a 1200 ft walk to the nearest access point - very close!! Return guests will notice that there are always little additions & upgrades happening. ALL cottage income goes directly back to make improvements to Lakewood Cottage for your future stays! Guest access When you stay at Lakewood Cottage, you have access to all areas of the house and property with the exception of the locked garage. You also have access to each of 4 private association Lake Huron access points. Other things to note Please be mindful that our location is rustic. Along Lake Huron, we have all types of weather, sand, and occasionally bugs & wildlife. *Mosquitos & bugs are worse some years than others. In the cooler months, our cottage relies on a single gas fireplace on the main level to heat the entire home. This means that the 2nd level might be cooler. We do provide an additional space heater on the main level in the living room as well as two (2) space heaters that can be placed in any room. Our prior guests have not had any issues with keeping warm during the bitter winter months, but please take note if this might be an issue for you. *We do recommend that you bring a pair of slippers or indoor shoes for comfort as our floors can be a little cooler! Though we are uninterested in monitoring our guest's activity, we do have one camera on site facing the driveway. The driveway is steep, and weather in Northern Michigan is unpredictable (our cottage precipitation can vary greatly compared to in town Cheboygan!) We have placed a camera strictly for monitoring driveway conditions to be able to best update guests. Though we love & welcome children, we want you to be aware that we are currently not "baby-proofed." Enjoy your home away from home at this modern 2 bedrooms, 1 bath with stunning views of Lake Huron from nearly every room. Located on 2 wooded acres with a private beach. The space Huron House sits on a bluff overlooking Lake Huron. There are breathtaking views of the lake from almost every room. The house has a minimalist vibe and provides you with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The main living area is an open concept space with plenty of seating for all guests. The kitchen is well stocked and all appliances are brand-new as of 2021. Enjoy the Sonos system, high speed internet and TV in the main living area. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. Each has a firm, queen sized mattress and blackout shades. All sheets, bedding and towels are organic. The bathroom has a stall shower, organic shampoo + conditioner + body soap and organic towels. (There is a bathtub in the bathroom but the water is capped off due to a leak and is not available for guest use.) There is a 6 burner gas grill available to guests during the summer months. There is also a wood burning fire pit down on the beach. Enjoy the 2 acres of wooded property. There are 60 steps down to the lake and guests can walk the shoreline of Lake Huron in either direction. The beach can be pebbly so water shoes are highly recommended. Guest access The driveways is spacious enough to park your vehicle(s) comfortably. The garage is not available for guests' use. Other things to note The full 2 acre property is available to guests. There is a lower level to the house, which is off limits to guests but will always be vacant during your stay. There are outdoor security cameras on the property for security purposes only - there are no views into the guest spaces.
