My place is close to restaurants, walking trails, historical landmarks, churches, shopping, night life, hair salons, a healthcare complex, spas, movie theatre, boutiques, candy shops, breweries, and adult and children recreation centers. . My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families and groups.

The neighborhood is quiet. All of the neighbors are polite and friendly. There is a nice, scenic trail directly behind the house. The neighborhood has a nice playground. Anything (gym, groceries, shopping, dining, touring, movies) that you could possibly want to do is ten minutes or less from the house.

Guests will have access to the entire house. There is an outside sitting area that overlooks the Greenway walking trail.

I am available 24 hours a day for any questions or concerns that you may have. Feel free to call or text me for anything that you can think of. I'm just a phone call or text away. It's always better to know than to guess.

The neighborhood has playground and a beautiful trail behind the house with easy access from the 1st floor porch or from the stairway access on the side of the house.

There isn't public transit but Uber is just a click away and there's always an Uber driver close by.

Basecamp offers clean, quality, quiet lodging with private entrance and off-street parking. A key code 8' gated entrance leads you to a courtyard and covered stairway that takes you to "Basecamp." It is a 2nd story, private guest suite with private entrance and private covered deck area.

Between stays we wash not just the towels and bedding but also comforters, matress cover, throw blankets and steam clean all floors each and every time. We take pride in the knowledge that The Gadabout is a step above in cleanliness:)

Treat yourself to a Spa like tiled bathroom with walk in shower. Open and airy with cotton towels, white sheets. Plush Serta memory foam topper bed and nice treetop window views :)

An abundance of french doors, heavy mouldings, tile and hardwoods throughout this period piece. Perfect for the traveling business person or the couple that's wants a getaway and everyone in between. 

Everything downtown is about a 5 minute or so walk away. Central heat and air with your own thermostat, strong WiFi, Smart TV with DVR, expanded cable and HBO. Very nice space with tree-top views. Great tranquil spot to lose yourself in a book or unwind and let your mind wander, inside or out!

Kitchenette has fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, hot plate and a Kuireg coffee maker. It is intended for very light cooking. There is no range hood.

Laundry is available for stays of 5 days or more and cleaning supplies are provided:) house manual can answer questions.

The Gadabout is in the heart of Downtown Wake Forest, a block or so walk to everything in Old Downtown. Coffee shops, White Street Brewery, bowling alley, the downtown shops and great restaurants are all an easy, short walk away! Town Hall, Southeastern Seminary School and WF Police station are also only a little more then a block away.

 Our street is a quiet street (considering were located downtown) thats in a small Circa 1900 neighborhood that is transitioning to the booming Wake Forest growth. We are currently finishing a complete renovation on the 1940's bungalow directly across the street:)

5 minute walk or so to restaurants, Boutique shops, coffee shops, Brewery, Mini Mart, bowling alley, Seminary School, CVS, Town Hall, Police Station, Dollar General and more. You don't need to drive if you don't want to. And of course Lyft and Uber are just a click away. There is also a local city bus that stops within a 5 minute walk. 

Durham and Downtown Raleigh are  about 30 minutes away if you are not traveling in commute times. RDU airport is about 20 minutes away.

Covid....We use  commercial steam cleaners for all floors and wipe down surfaces with approved CDC disinfectants. These cleaners are also stocked in suite and available for guests. These high standard cleaning steps have always been in practice as standard room cleaning and disinfecting at The Gadabout. We also periodically ozonate Suites.

This is a mother in law style 1 bedroom, 1 bath,  separate suite with private entrance and private off-street parking that is only used for guest stays. 

The Uptown Flat is quality lodging with a nicely equipped full kitchen and laundry room. Oak hardwoods and travertine tile floors throughout. Porcelain, cast iron tub and kithchen sink, both with tile surrounds. We will gather the towels and strip the bedding after your stay.

This is a very clean and well built structure. Strong WiFi and smart TV with expanded cable and premium channels.  Perfect for the business person or travelers alike. USB charging ports are available on the bedside outlet the lamp plugs into.

 "The Heritage" if you are looking for something larger, this is considered our executive lodging suite. It features a larger, extremely spacious 2 bedroom with full kitchen and walk in laundry room. All Hardwoods and tile. Well stocked for cooking and cleaning basics. Nicely equiped and set up for the extended stay :)

Newly renovated cottage style home in Historic Down Town Wake Forest area.  No pet, smoke free home. This is a natural light filled, one bedroom and tiled full bathroom. With stainless steel appliances, bamboo wood flooring, abundant crown and wainscott moldings. 
Nestled in a cul-de-sac in a very quiet neighborhood with sidewalks.  Back yard, deck, private drive and WiFi. Enjoy a trail walk or picnic in lovely Joyner Park, located down from the neighborhood. New community pool off Main St.

Only a short distance from quaint historical down town where you can enjoy shopping dinning, coffee shops, antiques, brewery, boutiques, book store, The Renaissance theater, bowling, library, parks and so much more. Very clean, comfortable home. Smart TV in livingroom and Bedroom TV. A full size washer and dryer and set of extra linens.

This is actually a three bedroom home. To keep things simple for Airbnb guests, I close off two of the bedrooms during stays. Guests will have access to the guest bedroom with queen bed and full bathroom with tub/shower. Enjoy the living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry, deck, front and back yard.

Quiet neighborhood with sidewalks, located in a cul-de-sac. Joyner Park is very close to neighborhood. Take a picnic, hike, fly a kite, relax on swings, take in events and more. Downtown Wake Forest is directly up the road. Walk the seminary grounds or tour historical homes. Also enjoy shopping, coffee, restaurant, antiques and White Street Brewery. Farmer's market on Saturdays and a bowling alley. All a short walk to the other. There is a strip mall with  grocery store, restaurants, bank and more a couple miles up the road.

Personal car, taxi, Uber or Lyft. There is a local bus service that loops around the town and the town rents Beach cruiser bikes.

This offering is suitable for one to two adult guests.

A beautiful tree lined road in the historic district of Wake Forest guides you to our remodeled historic home. 

The available space is an apartment in the basement of our house.  There is a parking space & separate entrance that brings you into an open concept living, kitchen, and dining area. The two bedrooms have a bathroom between them. There are plenty of windows throughout to let in natural light.  

You're going to feel right at home here!

A beautiful tree lined road in the historic district of Wake Forest guides you to our remodeled historic home. We first grew to love this home over 20 years ago when my husband went to school nearby. We would walk down the street looking at all the houses each evening. We designated this home as our "dream house." Ten years later, we bought the home & started to remodel it. We hope you love it as much as we do.

This private basement apartment offers a single parking space and private entrance. The main room serves as a living area, kitchen, and dining room, complete with full size fridge, microwave, toaster, stove/oven for light cooking, and coffee maker. Basic cookware and dishes are also provided, allowing our guests to create a home away from home. We also provide a modest supply of coffee, creamer, sugar, and tea to enjoy. A small variety of breakfast items are provide to help get your mornings started. The hall has door to close off the bedroom areas if you would like. One bedroom is set up with a queen bed while the other room offers a twin over full bunkbed. We also have a queen AeroBed you are welcome to use where ever you would like in your space. There is a full bath between the two bedrooms (not Jack and Jill). Each bedroom has a closet to put your things away and enjoy a clutter free room.

In the main area we have a big screen with AppleTV, giving you access to your Netflix or other streaming accounts.We also have an attached antenna for local channels.(NOTE: NO cable channels)

This may be a basement apartment but recessed ceilings and plenty of windows and daylight make this 1000 square foot apartment a delightful retreat. 

And the best thing is you’re right in the middle of the historic homes district and walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants.

The entire basement is yours to enjoy during your stay. We do live on the top two floors so we ask that guest respect our privacy by not entering our space, including our screened in back porch or the storage area underneath it.

As a busy family, we will be in and out a lot. We will give you privacy. However, we do welcome questions about the Wake Forest/Raleigh/Durham area and will provide as much or as little information and interaction as our guests desire; we are always available by phone/text. We can't wait to meet you and help you make the most out of your visit to our town!

Joyner Park is close to our house, offering a breezy spot in a nature type park with relaxing pathways and a shaded area that's perfect for a picnic. (Pick up a ready-made meal from one of our local favorites...everything from delicious sandwiches to the famous Shorty's Hotdogs). 

You can also walk or bike downtown to check out our boutiques, antique shops, coffee houses, and local brewery.

We have a dog upstairs (hypoallergenic Australian labradoodle, so you might occasionally hear him running around in the house or enjoying the yard. Because we are a historic home built in 1953, if we are up moving you may be able to hear our footsteps. We will always close off the rooms that are above your sleeping area so as not to disturb your rest during quiet hours (10pm - 7am).

Currently we do not offer this space for monthly rental. Our max length of stay is one week.
